Ezra 3
1 When the seventh month had come, and the children of Israel were in their cities, the people gathered themselves together as one man to Jerusalem.
Και ότε έφθασεν ο έβδομος μην και οι υιοί Ισραήλ ήσαν εν ταις πόλεσι, συνηθροίσθη ο λαός ως εις άνθρωπος εις Ιερουσαλήμ.
2 Then Jeshua the son of Jozadak stood up with his brothers the priests, and Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel and his brothers, and built the altar of the God of Israel, to offer burnt offerings thereon, as it is written in the law of Moses the man of God.
Και εσηκώθη Ιησούς, ο υιός του Ιωσεδέκ, και οι αδελφοί αυτού οι ιερείς, και Ζοροβάβελ ο υιός του Σαλαθιήλ και οι αδελφοί αυτού, και ωκοδόμησαν το θυσιαστήριον του Θεού του Ισραήλ, διά να προσφέρωσιν ολοκαυτώματα επ' αυτού, κατά το γεγραμμένον εν τω νόμω Μωϋσέως του ανθρώπου του Θεού·
3 In spite of their fear because of the peoples of the surrounding lands, they set the altar on its base; and they offered burnt offerings on it to Jehovah, even burnt offerings morning and evening.
και έστησαν το θυσιαστήριον εν τω τόπω αυτού, καίτοι επαπειλούμενοι υπό του λαού των τόπων εκείνων· και προσέφεραν επ' αυτού ολοκαυτώματα προς τον Κύριον, ολοκαυτώματα πρωΐ και εσπέρας.
4 They kept the feast of tents, as it is written, and offered the daily burnt offerings by number, according to the ordinance, as the duty of every day required;
Και έκαμον την εορτήν των σκηνών, κατά το γεγραμμένον, και τας καθημερινάς ολοκαυτώσεις κατά αριθμόν, ως ήτο διατεταγμένον κατά το καθήκον εκάστης ημέρας.
5 and afterward the continual burnt offering, the offerings of the new moons, of all the set feasts of Jehovah that were consecrated, and of everyone who willingly offered a freewill offering to Jehovah.
Και μετά ταύτα προσέφεραν τα παντοτεινά ολοκαυτώματα, και των νεομηνιών και πασών των καθηγιασμένων εορτών του Κυρίου και παντός προσφέροντος αυτοπροαίρετον προσφοράν εις τον Κύριον.
6 From the first day of the seventh month, they began to offer burnt offerings to Jehovah; but the foundation of Jehovah's temple was not yet laid.
Από της πρώτης ημέρας του εβδόμου μηνός ήρχισαν να προσφέρωσιν ολοκαυτώματα προς τον Κύριον· πλην τα θεμέλια του ναού του Κυρίου δεν είχον τεθή έτι.
7 They also gave money to the masons, and to the carpenters. They also gave food, drink, and oil to the people of Sidon and Tyre, to bring cedar trees from Lebanon to the sea, to Joppa, according to the grant that they had from Koresh King of Persia.
Και έδωκαν αργύριον εις τους λιθοτόμους και εις τους τέκτονας· και τροφάς και ποτά και έλαιον, εις τους Σιδωνίους και εις τους Τυρίους, διά να φέρωσι ξύλα κέδρινα από του Λιβάνου εις την θάλασσαν της Ιόππης, κατά την εις αυτούς δοθείσαν άδειαν Κύρου του βασιλέως της Περσίας.
8 Now in the second year of their coming to God's house at Jerusalem, in the second month, Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, and Jeshua the son of Jozadak, and the rest of their brothers the priests and the Levites, and all those who had come out of the captivity to Jerusalem, began the work and appointed the Levites, from twenty years old and upward, to have the oversight of the work of Jehovah's house.
Και εν τω δευτέρω έτει της επιστροφής αυτών προς τον οίκον του Θεού εν Ιερουσαλήμ, εν μηνί τω δευτέρω, ήρχισαν Ζοροβάβελ ο υιός του Σαλαθιήλ και Ιησούς ο υιός του Ιωσεδέκ και οι λοιποί των αδελφών αυτών, ιερείς και Λευΐται, και πάντες οι ελθόντες από της αιχμαλωσίας εις Ιερουσαλήμ· και κατέστησαν τους Λευΐτας, από είκοσι ετών ηλικίας και επάνω, διά να επισπεύδωσι το έργον του οίκου του Κυρίου.
9 Then Jeshua stood with his sons and his brothers, Kadmiel and his sons, the sons of Hodaviah, together, to have the oversight of the workmen in God's house: the sons of Henadad, with their sons and their brothers the Levites.
Και παρεστάθη ο Ιησούς, οι υιοί αυτού και οι αδελφοί αυτού, ο Καδμιήλ και οι υιοί αυτού, υιοί Ιούδα, ως εις άνθρωπος, διά να κατεπείγωσι τους εργαζομένους εν τω οίκω του Θεού· οι υιοί του Ηναδάδ, οι υιοί αυτών και οι αδελφοί αυτών οι Λευΐται.
10 When the builders laid the foundation of Jehovah's temple, they set the priests in their clothing with trumpets, with the Levites the sons of Asaph with cymbals, to praise Jehovah, according to the directions of David king of Israel.
Και ότε έθεσαν οι οικοδόμοι τα θεμέλια του ναού του Κυρίου, εστάθησαν οι ιερείς ενδεδυμένοι, μετά σαλπίγγων, και οι Λευΐται οι υιοί του Ασάφ μετά κυμβάλων, διά να υμνώσι τον Κύριον, κατά την διαταγήν Δαβίδ του βασιλέως του Ισραήλ·
11 They sang to one another in praising and giving thanks to Jehovah, "For he is good, for his loving kindness endures forever toward Israel." All the people shouted with a great shout, when they praised Jehovah, because the foundation of the house of Jehovah had been laid.
και έψαλλον αμοιβαίως υμνούντες και ευχαριστούντες τον Κύριον, Ότι αγαθός, ότι εις τον αιώνα το έλεος αυτού επί τον Ισραήλ. Και πας ο λαός ηλάλαξαν αλαλαγμόν μέγαν, υμνούντες τον Κύριον διά την θεμελίωσιν του οίκου του Κυρίου.
12 But many of the priests and Levites and heads of ancestral houses, the old men who had seen the first house, when the foundation of this house was laid before their eyes, wept with a loud voice. Many also shouted aloud for joy,
Και πολλοί εκ των ιερέων και Λευϊτών και των αρχηγών των πατριών, γέροντες, οίτινες είχον ιδεί τον πρότερον οίκον, ενώ ο οίκος ούτος εθεμελιούτο ενώπιον των οφθαλμών αυτών, έκλαιον μετά φωνής μεγάλης· πολλοί δε ηλάλαξαν εν φωνή μεγάλη μετ' ευφροσύνης.
13 so that the people could not discern the noise of the shout of joy from the noise of the weeping of the people; for the people shouted with a loud shout, and the noise was heard far away.
Και δεν διέκρινεν ο λαός την φωνήν του αλαλαγμού της ευφροσύνης από της φωνής του κλαυθμού του λαού· διότι ο λαός ηλάλαζεν αλαλαγμόν μέγαν, και η βοή ηκούετο έως από μακρόθεν.
