2 Kings 5

1 Now Naaman, captain of the army of the king of Aram, was a great man with his master, and honorable, because by him Jehovah had given victory to Aram: he was also a mighty man of valor, but he was a leper.

ಅರಾಮಿನ ಅರಸನ ಸೈನ್ಯಾಧಿಪತಿ ನಾಮಾನನು ತನ್ನ ಯಜಮಾನನ ಮುಂದೆ ಮಹಾಪುರುಷನಾಗಿಯೂ, ಘನವುಳ್ಳವನಾಗಿಯೂ ಇದ್ದನು. ಏಕೆಂದರೆ ಅವನಿಂದ ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರು ಅರಾಮ್ಯರಿಗೆ ಬಿಡುಗಡೆಯನ್ನು ಉಂಟುಮಾಡಿದ್ದರು. ಇದಲ್ಲದೆ ಅವನು ಪರಾಕ್ರಮಶಾಲಿಯಾಗಿದ್ದನು. ಆದರೆ ಅವನು ಕುಷ್ಠರೋಗಿಯಾಗಿದ್ದನು.

2 The Arameans had gone out in bands, and had brought away captive out of the land of Israel a little maiden; and she waited on Naaman's wife.

ಅರಾಮಿನವರು ಗುಂಪುಗುಂಪಾಗಿ ಹೊರಟು, ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲ್ ದೇಶದಿಂದ ಒಬ್ಬ ಹುಡುಗಿಯನ್ನು ಸೆರೆಯಾಗಿ ಹಿಡಿದುಕೊಂಡು ಬಂದರು. ಅವಳು ನಾಮಾನನ ಹೆಂಡತಿಗೆ ಸೇವಕಿಯಾದಳು.

3 She said to her mistress, "I wish that my lord were with the prophet who is in Samaria. Then he would heal him of his leprosy."

ಅವಳು ತನ್ನ ಯಜಮಾನನಿಗೆ, “ನನ್ನ ಧಣಿಯು ಸಮಾರ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಪ್ರವಾದಿಯ ಬಳಿಯಲ್ಲಿರುತ್ತಿದ್ದರೆ, ಅವನು ಧಣಿಯ ಕುಷ್ಠರೋಗವನ್ನು ವಾಸಿಮಾಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದನು,” ಎಂದಳು.

4 Someone went in, and told his lord, saying, "The maiden who is from the land of Israel said this."

ನಾಮಾನನು ಹೋಗಿ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲ್ ದೇಶದ ಹುಡುಗಿಯು ಹೇಳಿದ್ದನ್ನು ತನ್ನ ಯಜಮಾನನಿಗೆ ತಿಳಿಸಿದನು.

5 The king of Aram said, "Go now, and I will send a letter to the king of Israel." He departed, and took with him ten talents of silver, and six thousand pieces of gold, and ten changes of clothing.

ಅರಾಮ್ಯರ ಅರಸನು, “ನೀನು ಹೋಗಿ ಬಾ. ನಾನು ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲಿನ ಅರಸನಿಗೆ ಪತ್ರವನ್ನು ಕಳುಹಿಸುವೆನು,” ಎಂದನು. ಅದರಂತೆ ನಾಮಾನನು 340 ಕಿಲೋಗ್ರಾಂ ಬೆಳ್ಳಿ, 64 ಕಿಲೋಗ್ರಾಂ ಬಂಗಾರ, ಹತ್ತು ಜೊತೆ ಬಟ್ಟೆಗಳನ್ನೂ ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಹೋದನು.

6 He brought the letter to the king of Israel, saying, "Now when this letter has come to you, look, I have sent Naaman my servant to you, that you may heal him of his leprosy."

ಅವನು ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲಿನ ಅರಸನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಆ ಪತ್ರವನ್ನು ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಬಂದನು. ಅದರಲ್ಲಿ, “ಈ ಪತ್ರ ನಿನಗೆ ಸೇರುವಾಗ, ನಿನ್ನ ಸೇವಕನಾದ ನಾಮಾನನ ಕುಷ್ಠರೋಗವನ್ನು ವಾಸಿಮಾಡುವ ಹಾಗೆ ನಿನ್ನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಕಳುಹಿಸಿದ್ದೇನೆ,” ಎಂದು ಬರೆದಿತ್ತು.

7 It happened, when the king of Israel had read the letter, that he tore his clothes, and said, "Am I God, to kill and to make alive, that this man sends to me to heal a man of his leprosy? But please consider and see how he seeks a quarrel against me."

ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲಿನ ಅರಸನು ಆ ಪತ್ರವನ್ನು ಓದಿದ ಮೇಲೆ ತನ್ನ ವಸ್ತ್ರಗಳನ್ನು ಹರಿದುಕೊಂಡು, “ಕೊಲ್ಲುವುದಕ್ಕೂ, ಬದುಕಿಸುವುದಕ್ಕೂ ನಾನು ದೇವರೋ? ಇವನ ಕುಷ್ಠರೋಗವನ್ನು ವಾಸಿ ಮಾಡುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ನನ್ನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಕಳುಹಿಸಿದ್ದೇನು? ಇವನು ನನಗೆ ವಿರೋಧವಾಗಿ ಜಗಳಕ್ಕೆ ಕಾರಣ ಹುಡುಕುವುದನ್ನು ನೀವೇ ನೋಡಿರಿ,” ಎಂದನು.

8 It was so, when Elisha the man of God heard that the king of Israel had torn his clothes, that he sent to the king, saying, "Why have you torn your clothes? Let him come now to me, and he shall know that there is a prophet in Israel."

ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲಿನ ಅರಸನು ತನ್ನ ವಸ್ತ್ರಗಳನ್ನು ಹರಿದುಕೊಂಡನೆಂದು ದೇವರ ಮನುಷ್ಯನಾದ ಎಲೀಷನು ಕೇಳಿದಾಗ, “ನೀನು ನಿನ್ನ ವಸ್ತ್ರಗಳನ್ನು ಹರಿದುಕೊಂಡದ್ದೇನು? ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರವಾದಿ ಇದ್ದಾನೆಂದು ನಾಮಾನನು ತಿಳಿದುಕೊಳ್ಳುವಂತೆ ಅವನು ನನ್ನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಬರಲಿ,” ಎಂದು ಅರಸನಿಗೆ ಹೇಳಿ ಕಳುಹಿಸಿದನು.

9 So Naaman came with his horses and with his chariots, and stood at the door of the house of Elisha.

ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ನಾಮಾನನು ತನ್ನ ಕುದುರೆಗಳ ಸಂಗಡ, ತನ್ನ ರಥದ ಸಂಗಡ ಬಂದು, ಎಲೀಷನ ಮನೆಯ ಬಾಗಿಲ ಬಳಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ನಿಂತನು.

10 Elisha sent a messenger to him, saying, "Go and wash in the Jordan seven times, and your flesh shall come again to you, and you shall be clean."

ಆಗ ಎಲೀಷನು, “ನೀನು ಹೋಗಿ ಯೊರ್ದನಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಏಳು ಸಾರಿ ಸ್ನಾನಮಾಡು, ಆಗ ನಿನ್ನ ಶರೀರವು ಮೊದಲಿನಂತೆ ಮಾರ್ಪಡುವುದು, ನೀನು ಶುದ್ಧನಾಗುವೆ,” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಲು, ಅವನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಸೇವಕನನ್ನು ಕಳುಹಿಸಿದನು.

11 But Naaman was angry, and went away, and said, "Look, I thought, 'He will surely come out to me, and stand, and call on the name of Jehovah his God, and wave his hand over the place, and heal the leper.'

ಆಗ ನಾಮಾನನು ಕೋಪಗೊಂಡು ಹೊರಟುಹೋಗಿ, “ಅವನು ನಿಶ್ಚಯವಾಗಿ ನನ್ನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಹೊರಟುಬಂದು, ತನ್ನ ದೇವರಾದ ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರ ಹೆಸರನ್ನು ಕರೆದು, ನನ್ನ ಚರ್ಮದ ಮೇಲೆ ತನ್ನ ಕೈಯನ್ನಾಡಿಸಿ, ಕುಷ್ಠರೋಗವನ್ನು ವಾಸಿಮಾಡುವನೆಂದು, ನಾನು ನೆನಸಿದೆ.

12 Aren't Abanah and Pharpar, the rivers of Damascus, better than all the waters of Israel? Couldn't I go wash in them, and be clean?" So he turned and went away in a rage.

ನಾನು ಹೊಳೆಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಸ್ನಾನಮಾಡಿ ಶುದ್ಧನಾಗುವಂತೆ ದಮಸ್ಕದ ನದಿಗಳಾದ ಅಬಾನಾವೂ, ಪಾರ್ಪರೂ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲಿನ ಸಮಸ್ತ ನೀರುಗಳಿಗಿಂತ ಉತ್ತಮವಾಗಿಲ್ಲವೋ?” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿ ತಿರುಗಿಕೊಂಡು ಕೋಪದಿಂದ ಹೋದನು.

13 His servants came near, and spoke to him, and said, "My father, if the prophet had asked you to do some great thing, wouldn't you have done it? How much rather then, when he says to you, 'Wash, and be clean?'"

ಆದರೆ ನಾಮಾನನ ಸೇವಕನು ಅವನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಬಂದು, ಅವನ ಸಂಗಡ ಮಾತನಾಡಿ, “ನನ್ನ ತಂದೆಯೇ, ಪ್ರವಾದಿಯು ದೊಡ್ಡ ಕಾರ್ಯವನ್ನು ನಿನಗೆ ಹೇಳಿದ್ದರೆ, ನೀನು ಮಾಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದಿಲ್ಲವೋ? ಅವನು ನಿನಗೆ, ‘ಸ್ನಾನಮಾಡಿ ಶುದ್ಧನಾಗು’ ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದರಲ್ಲಿ ಅಡ್ಡಿ ಏನು?” ಎಂದನು.

14 Then he went down and dipped himself seven times in the Jordan, according to the saying of the man of God; and his flesh was restored like the flesh of a little child, and he was clean.

ಆಗ ಅವನು ಇಳಿದು ಹೋಗಿ ದೇವರ ಮನುಷ್ಯನ ಮಾತಿನ ಪ್ರಕಾರ ಯೊರ್ದನಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಏಳು ಸಾರಿ ಮುಳುಗಿದನು. ಆಗ ಅವನ ಶರೀರವು ಚಿಕ್ಕ ಮಗುವಿನ ಶರೀರದ ಹಾಗೆ ಮಾರ್ಪಟ್ಟಿತು, ಅವನು ಶುದ್ಧನಾದನು.

15 He returned to the man of God, he and all his company, and came, and stood before him; and he said, "See now, I know that there is no God in all the earth, but in Israel. Now therefore, please take a gift from your servant."

ಆಗ ನಾಮಾನನೂ, ಅವನ ಸಮಸ್ತ ಸೈನ್ಯವೂ ದೇವರ ಮನುಷ್ಯನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ತಿರುಗಿ ಬಂದರು. ಅವನು ಪ್ರವಾದಿಯ ಮುಂದೆ ಬಂದು ನಿಂತು, “ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲಿನಲ್ಲಿರುವ ದೇವರ ಹೊರತು ಭೂಮಿಯಲ್ಲೆಲ್ಲೂ ಬೇರೆ ದೇವರು ಇಲ್ಲವೆಂದು ನಾನು ಬಲ್ಲೆನು. ಆದಕಾರಣ ನೀನು ದಯಮಾಡಿ ನಿನ್ನ ಸೇವಕನಿಂದ ಕಾಣಿಕೆಯನ್ನು ತೆಗೆದುಕೋ,” ಎಂದನು.

16 But he said, "As Jehovah lives, before whom I stand, I will receive none." He urged him to take it; but he refused.

ಆದರೆ ಪ್ರವಾದಿಯು, “ನಾನು ಯಾರ ಮುಂದೆ ನಿಲ್ಲುತ್ತೇನೋ ಆ ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರ ಜೀವದಾಣೆ, ನಾನು ಏನೂ ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಳ್ಳುವುದಿಲ್ಲ,” ಎಂದನು. ಅವನು ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಳ್ಳಬೇಕೆಂದು ಬಲವಂತ ಮಾಡಿದರೂ, “ಬೇಡ,” ಎಂದನು.

17 Naaman said, "If not, then, please let two mules' burden of earth be given to your servant; for your servant will from now on offer neither burnt offering nor sacrifice to other gods, but to Jehovah.

ನಾಮಾನನು, “ಹಾಗಾದರೆ ಎರಡು ಹೇಸರಗತ್ತೆಗಳು ಹೊರತಕ್ಕ ಮಣ್ಣು ನಿನ್ನ ಸೇವಕನಿಗೆ ಕೊಡುವಂತೆ ಮಾಡು. ಏಕೆಂದರೆ ನಿನ್ನ ಸೇವಕನು ಇನ್ನು ಮೇಲೆ ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರಿಗೆ ಹೊರತಾಗಿ ಅನ್ಯ ದೇವರುಗಳಿಗೆ ದಹನಬಲಿಯನ್ನಾಗಲಿ, ಯಜ್ಞವನ್ನಾಗಲಿ ಅರ್ಪಿಸನು.

18 In this thing may Jehovah pardon your servant: when my master goes into the house of Rimmon to worship there, and he leans on my hand, and I bow myself in the house of Rimmon. When I bow myself in the house of Rimmon, may Jehovah pardon your servant in this thing."

ಈ ಕಾರ್ಯವನ್ನು ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರು ನಿನ್ನ ಸೇವಕನಿಗೆ ಮನ್ನಿಸಲಿ. ಏನೆಂದರೆ, ನನ್ನ ಯಜಮಾನನು ಅಡ್ಡ ಬೀಳುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ರಿಮ್ಮೋನನ ದೇವಸ್ಥಾನಕ್ಕೆ ಹೋಗಿ, ಅವನು ನನ್ನ ಕೈಯ ಮೇಲೆ ಆತುಕೊಳ್ಳುವಾಗ, ರಿಮ್ಮೋನನ ದೇವಸ್ಥಾನದಲ್ಲಿ ನಾನು ಬಾಗಿದರೆ, ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರು ನಿನ್ನ ಸೇವಕನಿಗೆ ಈ ಕಾರ್ಯವನ್ನು ಮನ್ನಿಸಲಿ,” ಎಂದನು.

19 He said to him, "Go in peace." So he departed from him a little way.

ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಎಲೀಷನು, “ಸಮಾಧಾನದಿಂದ ಹೋಗು,” ಎಂದನು. ನಾಮಾನನು ಸ್ವಲ್ಪ ದೂರ ಹೋದನು.

20 But Gehazi the servant of Elisha the man of God, said, "Look, my master has spared this Naaman the Aramean, in not receiving at his hands that which he brought. As Jehovah lives, I will run after him, and take something from him."

ದೇವರ ಮನುಷ್ಯನಾದ ಎಲೀಷನ ಸೇವಕನಾಗಿರುವ ಗೇಹಜಿಯು, “ನನ್ನ ಯಜಮಾನನು ಈ ಅರಾಮ್ಯನಾದ ನಾಮಾನನು ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಬಂದದ್ದನ್ನು ಅವನ ಕೈಯಿಂದ ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಳ್ಳದೆ ಸುಮ್ಮನೆ ಕಳುಹಿಸಿದ್ದಾನೆ. ಆದರೆ ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರ ಜೀವದಾಣೆ, ನಾನು ಅವನ ಹಿಂದೆ ಓಡಿಹೋಗಿ, ಅವನ ಕೈಯಿಂದ ಏನಾದರೂ ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಳ್ಳುವೆನು,” ಅಂದುಕೊಂಡನು.

21 So Gehazi followed after Naaman. When Naaman saw one running after him, he came down from the chariot to meet him, and said, "Is all well?"

ಅದರಂತೆ ಗೇಹಜಿಯು ನಾಮಾನನ ಹಿಂದೆ ಹೋದನು. ನಾಮಾನನು ತನ್ನ ಹಿಂದೆ ಓಡಿ ಬರುವವನನ್ನು ಕಂಡಾಗ, ಅವನನ್ನು ಎದುರುಗೊಳ್ಳಲು ರಥದಿಂದ ಇಳಿದು ಅವನಿಗೆ, “ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಕ್ಷೇಮವೋ?” ಎಂದನು.

22 He said, "All is well. My master has sent me, saying, 'Look, even now two young men of the sons of the prophets have come to me from the hill country of Ephraim. Please give them a talent of silver and two changes of clothing.'"

ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಗೇಹಜಿಯು, “ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಕ್ಷೇಮ. ಪ್ರವಾದಿಗಳ ಮಂಡಳಿಯಲ್ಲಿಯ ಇಬ್ಬರು ಯುವಕರು ಎಫ್ರಾಯೀಮ್ ಬೆಟ್ಟದಿಂದ ಈಗಲೇ ನನ್ನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಬಂದಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ನೀನು ದಯಮಾಡಿ ಅವರಿಗೆ ಮೂರು ಸಾವಿರ ಬೆಳ್ಳಿ ನಾಣ್ಯಗಳನ್ನೂ, ಎರಡು ಜೊತೆ ಬಟ್ಟೆಗಳನ್ನೂ ಕೊಡಬೇಕೆಂದು ನಿನಗೆ ಹೇಳು ಎಂದು ನನ್ನ ಯಜಮಾನನು ಕಳುಹಿಸಿದ್ದಾನೆ,” ಎಂದನು.

23 Naaman said, "Be pleased to take two talents." He urged him, and bound two talents of silver in two bags, with two changes of clothing, and laid them on two of his servants; and they carried them before him.

ಆಗ ನಾಮಾನನು, “ನೀನು ದಯಮಾಡಿ ಆರು ಸಾವಿರ ನಾಣ್ಯಗಳನ್ನಾದರೂ ತೆಗೆದುಕೋ,” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿ ಗೇಹಜಿಯನ್ನು ಬಲವಂತ ಮಾಡಿದನು. ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ಆರು ಸಾವಿರ ಬೆಳ್ಳಿ ನಾಣ್ಯಗಳನ್ನು ಎರಡು ಚೀಲಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಕಟ್ಟಿಸಿ, ಅದರ ಸಂಗಡ ಎರಡು ಜೊತೆ ಬಟ್ಟೆಗಳನ್ನು ಕೊಟ್ಟು, ತನ್ನ ಸೇವಕರಲ್ಲಿ ಇಬ್ಬರ ಮೇಲೆ ಹೊರಿಸಿದನು. ಅವರು ಗೇಹಜಿಯ ಮುಂದೆ ಹೊತ್ತುಕೊಂಡು ಹೋದರು.

24 When he came to the hill, he took them from their hand, and stored them in the house. Then he let the men go, and they departed.

ಆದರೆ ಗೇಹಜಿಯು ಬೆಟ್ಟಕ್ಕೆ ಬಂದಾಗ, ಅವರ ಕೈಯಿಂದ ಅವುಗಳನ್ನು ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಮನೆಯಲ್ಲಿಟ್ಟು, ಆ ಮನುಷ್ಯರನ್ನು ಕಳುಹಿಸಿಬಿಟ್ಟದ್ದರಿಂದ ಅವರು ಹೊರಟು ಹೋದರು.

25 But he went in, and stood before his master. Elisha said to him, "Where did you come from, Gehazi?" He said, "Your servant went nowhere."

ಆಗ ಗೇಹಜಿಯು ಒಳಗೆ ಪ್ರವೇಶಿಸಿ, ತನ್ನ ಯಜಮಾನನ ಮುಂದೆ ನಿಂತನು. ಎಲೀಷನು ಅವನಿಗೆ, “ಗೇಹಜಿಯೇ, ಎಲ್ಲಿಗೆ ಹೋಗಿ ಬಂದೆ?” ಎಂದನು. ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಗೇಹಜಿಯು, “ನಿನ್ನ ಸೇವಕನು ಎಲ್ಲಿಗೂ ಹೋಗಲಿಲ್ಲ,” ಎಂದನು.

26 He said to him, "Did not my heart go with you, when the man turned from his chariot to meet you? Is it a time to receive money, and to receive garments, and olive groves and vineyards, and sheep and cattle, and male servants and female servants?

ಆದರೆ ಎಲೀಷನು ಅವನಿಗೆ, “ಆ ಮನುಷ್ಯನು ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ಎದುರುಗೊಳ್ಳಲು ತನ್ನ ರಥದಿಂದ ಇಳಿದು ನಿನ್ನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಬಂದಾಗ, ನನ್ನ ಹೃದಯವು ನಿನ್ನ ಸಂಗಡ ಹೋಗಲಿಲ್ಲವೋ? ಹಣವನ್ನೂ, ವಸ್ತ್ರಗಳನ್ನೂ, ದ್ರವ್ಯವನ್ನೂ, ಹಿಪ್ಪೆಯ ತೋಪುಗಳನ್ನೂ, ದ್ರಾಕ್ಷಿಯ ತೋಟಗಳನ್ನೂ, ಕುರಿದನಗಳನ್ನೂ, ದಾಸದಾಸಿಯರನ್ನೂ ಪಡೆದುಕೊಳ್ಳುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಇದು ಸಮಯವೋ?

27 Therefore the leprosy of Naaman will cling to you and to your descendants forever." He went out from his presence a leper, as white as snow.

ನಾಮಾನನ ಕುಷ್ಠರೋಗವು ನಿನಗೂ, ನಿನ್ನ ಸಂತಾನಕ್ಕೂ ನಿತ್ಯವಾಗಿ ಇರುವುದು,” ಎಂದನು. ಆಗ ಗೇಹಜಿಯು ಹಿಮದಂತೆ ಬಿಳುಪಾಗಿ, ಕುಷ್ಠರೋಗಿ ಆಗಿ ಎಲೀಷನಿಂದ ಹೊರಟುಹೋದನು.
