2 Kings 22
1 Josiah was eight years old when he began to reign; and he reigned thirty-one years in Jerusalem: and his mother's name was Jedidah the daughter of Adaiah of Bozkath.
| یوشیا هشت ساله بود که پادشاه یهودا شد و سی و یک سال در اورشلیم سلطنت نمود. (مادرش یِدیدَه، دختر عَدایه، از اهالی بُصقَت بود.) |
2 He did that which was right in the eyes of Jehovah, and walked in all the way of David his father, and did not turn aside to the right hand or to the left.
| یوشیا مانند جدش داوود مطابق میل خداوند عمل می‌کرد و از دستورهای خدا اطاعت کامل می‌نمود. |
3 It happened in the eighteenth year of king Josiah, that the king sent Shaphan, the son of Azaliah the son of Meshullam, the scribe, to the house of Jehovah, saying,
| یوشیای پادشاه در هجدهمین سال سلطنت خود، شافان (پسر اصلیا و نوهٔ مشلام) کاتب را به خانهٔ خداوند فرستاد تا این پیغام را به حِلقیا، کاهن اعظم بدهد: «نقره‌ای را که مردم به خانهٔ خداوند می‌آورند و به کاهنان محافظ مدخل می‌دهند، جمع‌آوری کن |
4 "Go up to Hilkiah the high priest, that he may melt down the silver which is brought into the house of Jehovah, which the keepers of the threshold have gathered of the people.
5 Let them deliver it into the hand of the workmen who have the oversight of the house of Jehovah; and let them give it to the workmen who are in the house of Jehovah, to repair the breaches of the house,
| و آن را به ناظران ساختمانی خانۀ خداوند تحویل بده تا با آن، نجارها و بناها و معمارها را به کار بگیرند و سنگها و چوبهای تراشیده را خریداری نمایند و خرابیهای خانهٔ خدا را تعمیر کنند.» |
6 to the carpenters, and to the builders, and to the masons, and for buying timber and cut stone to repair the house.
7 However there was no accounting made with them of the money that was delivered into their hand; for they dealt faithfully."
| (از ناظران ساختمانی خانهٔ خداوند صورتحساب نمی‌خواستند، چون مردانی امین و درستکار بودند.) |
8 Hilkiah the high priest said to Shaphan the scribe, "I have found the scroll of the law in the house of Jehovah." Hilkiah delivered the book to Shaphan, and he read it.
| یک روز حِلقیا، کاهن اعظم نزد شافان کاتب رفت و گفت: «در خانهٔ خداوند کتاب تورات را پیدا کرده‌ام.» سپس کتاب را به شافان نشان داد تا آن را بخواند. |
9 Shaphan the scribe came to the king, and brought the king word again, and said, "Your servants have emptied out the money that was found in the house, and have delivered it into the hand of the workmen who have the oversight of the house of Jehovah."
| وقتی شافان گزارش کار ساختمان خانهٔ خداوند را به پادشاه می‌داد در مورد کتابی نیز که حِلقیا، کاهن اعظم در خانهٔ خداوند پیدا کرده بود با او صحبت کرد. سپس شافان آن را برای پادشاه خواند. |
10 Shaphan the scribe told the king, saying, "Hilkiah the priest has delivered a scroll to me." Shaphan read it before the king.
11 It happened, when the king had heard the words of the scroll of the law, that he tore his clothes.
| وقتی پادشاه کلمات تورات را شنید، از شدت ناراحتی لباس خود را پاره کرد |
12 The king commanded Hilkiah the priest, and Ahikam the son of Shaphan, and Achbor the son of Micaiah, and Shaphan the scribe, and Asaiah the king's servant, saying,
| و به حِلقیا کاهن اعظم، شافان کاتب، عسایا ملتزم پادشاه، اخیقام (پسر شافان) و عکبور (پسر میکایا) گفت: «بروید و از خداوند برای من، و برای قوم، و برای همۀ یهودا، دربارۀ کلماتِ این کتاب که پیدا شده است، مسئلت کنید. بدون شک خداوند از ما خشمگین است، چون اجداد ما مطابق دستورهای او که در این کتاب نوشته شده است رفتار نکرده‌اند.» |
13 "Go inquire of Jehovah for me, and for the people, and for all Judah, concerning the words of this scroll that is found; for great is the wrath of Jehovah that is kindled against us, because our fathers have not listened to the words of this scroll, to do according to all that which is written concerning us."
14 So Hilkiah the priest, and Ahikam, and Achbor, and Shaphan, and Asaiah, went to Huldah the prophetess, the wife of Shallum the son of Tikvah, the son of Harhas, keeper of the wardrobe (now she lived in Jerusalem in the second quarter); and they talked with her.
| پس حِلقیا، اخیقام، عکبور، شافان و عسایا نزد زنی به نام حُلده رفتند که نبیه بود و در محلهٔ دوم اورشلیم زندگی می‌کرد. (شوهر او شلوم، پسر تقوه و نوهٔ حرحس، خیاط دربار بود.) وقتی جریان امر را برای حلده تعریف کردند، |
15 She said to them, "Thus says Jehovah, the God of Israel: 'Tell the man who sent you to me,
| حلده به ایشان گفت که نزد پادشاه بازگردند و این پیغام را از جانب خداوند، خدای اسرائیل به او بدهند. |
16 "Thus says Jehovah, 'Look, I will bring disaster on this place, and on its inhabitants, even all the words of the scroll which the king of Judah has read.
| «همان‌طور که در کتاب تورات فرموده‌ام و تو آن را خواندی، بر این شهر و مردمانش بلا خواهم فرستاد، |
17 Because they have forsaken me, and have burned incense to other gods, that they might provoke me to anger with all the work of their hands, therefore my wrath shall be kindled against this place, and it shall not be quenched.'"
| زیرا مردم یهودا مرا ترک گفته، بت‌پرست شده‌اند و با کارهایشان خشم مرا برانگیخته‌اند. پس آتش خشم من که بر اورشلیم افروخته شده، خاموش نخواهد شد. |
18 But to the king of Judah, who sent you to inquire of Jehovah, thus you shall tell him, "Thus says Jehovah, the God of Israel: 'Concerning the words which you have heard,
| «اما من دعای تو را اجابت خواهم نمود و این بلا را پس از مرگ تو بر این سرزمین خواهم فرستاد. تو این بلا را نخواهی دید و در آرامش خواهی مرد، زیرا هنگامی که کتاب تورات را خواندی و از اخطار من در مورد مجازات این سرزمین و ساکنانش آگاه شدی، متأثر شده، لباس خود را پاره نمودی و در حضور من گریه کرده، فروتن شدی.» فرستادگان پادشاه این پیغام را به او رساندند. |
19 because your heart was tender, and you humbled yourself before Jehovah, when you heard what I spoke against this place, and against its inhabitants, that they should become a desolation and a curse, and have torn your clothes, and wept before me; I also have heard you,' says Jehovah.
20 'Therefore look, I will gather you to your fathers, and you shall be gathered to your grave in peace, neither shall your eyes see all the disaster which I will bring on this place.'"'" They brought back this message to the king.
