< Psalms 47 >

1 [For the Chief Musician. A Psalm by the sons of Korah.] Oh clap your hands, all you nations. Shout to God with the voice of triumph.
Psalmus David, in finem, pro filiis Core. Omnes Gentes plaudite manibus: iubilate Deo in voce exultationis.
2 For the LORD Most High is awesome. He is a great King over all the earth.
Quoniam Dominus excelsus, terribilis: Rex magnus super omnem terram.
3 He subdues nations under us, and peoples under our feet.
Subiecit populos nobis: et gentes sub pedibus nostris.
4 He chooses our inheritance for us, the glory of Jacob whom he loved. (Selah)
Elegit nobis hereditatem suam: speciem Iacob, quam dilexit.
5 God has gone up with a shout, the LORD with the sound of a trumpet.
Ascendit Deus in iubilo: et Dominus in voce tubae.
6 Sing praise to God, sing praises. Sing praises to our King, sing praises.
Psallite Deo nostro, psallite: psallite Regi nostro, psallite.
7 For God is the King of all the earth. Sing praises with understanding.
Quoniam Rex omnis terrae Deus: psallite sapienter.
8 God reigns over the nations. God sits on his holy throne.
Regnabit Deus super gentes: Deus sedet super sedem sanctam suam.
9 The princes of the peoples are gathered together, the people of the God of Abraham. For the shields of the earth belong to God. He is greatly exalted.
Principes populorum congregati sunt cum Deo Abraham: quoniam dii fortes terrae, vehementer elevati sunt.
