< Mark 11 >

1 When they drew near to Urishlim, to Beth-Pageh and Beth-Naiya, at the Mount of Olives, he sent two of his disciples,
ⲁ̅ⲁⲩⲱ ⲛⲧⲉⲣⲟⲩϩⲱⲛ ⲉϩⲟⲩⲛ ⲉⲑⲓⲉⲣⲟⲥⲟⲗⲩⲙⲁ ⲉⲃⲏⲧⲫⲁⲅⲏ ⲙⲛⲃⲏⲑⲁⲛⲓⲁ ϩⲁϩⲧⲉⲡⲧⲟⲟⲩ ⲛⲛϫⲟⲉⲓⲧ ⲁϥϫⲉⲩⲥⲛⲁⲩ ⲛⲛⲉϥⲙⲁⲑⲏⲧⲏⲥ
2 and said to them, "Go your way into the village that is opposite you. Immediately as you enter into it, you will find a young donkey tied, on which no one has yet sat. Untie him, and bring him.
ⲃ̅ⲉϥϫⲱ ⲙⲙⲟⲥ ⲛⲁⲩ ϫⲉ ⲃⲱⲕ ⲉϩⲣⲁⲓ ⲉⲧⲕⲱⲙⲏ ⲉⲧϩⲙⲡⲉⲧⲛⲙⲧⲟ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲛⲧⲉⲩⲛⲟⲩ ⲉⲧⲉⲧⲛⲛⲁⲃⲱⲕ ⲉϩⲟⲩⲛ ⲉⲣⲟⲥ ⲧⲉⲧⲛⲛⲁϩⲉ ⲉⲩⲥⲏϭ ⲉϥⲙⲏⲣ ⲉⲙⲡⲁⲧⲉⲗⲁⲁⲩ ⲣⲣⲱⲙⲉ ϩⲙⲟⲟⲥ ϩⲓϫⲱϥ ⲃⲟⲗϥ ⲛⲧⲉⲧⲛⲛⲧϥ
3 If anyone asks you, 'Why are you doing this?' say, 'Because the Lord needs it,' and he will send it back here at once."
ⲅ̅ⲁⲩⲱ ⲉⲣϣⲁⲛⲗⲁⲁⲩ ϣⲁϫⲉ ⲛⲙⲙⲏⲧⲛ ϫⲉ ⲉⲧⲉⲧⲛⲛⲁⲣⲟⲩ ⲙⲡⲁⲓ ⲁϫⲓⲥ ϫⲉ ⲡϫⲟⲉⲓⲥ ⲡⲉⲧⲧⲁϩⲉ ⲛⲁϥ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲟⲛ ⲛⲧⲉⲩⲛⲟⲩ ϥⲛⲁⲧⲛⲛⲟⲟⲩϥ ⲟⲛ ⲉⲡⲉⲓⲙⲁ
4 They went away, and found a colt tied at the door outside in the open street, and they untied him.
ⲇ̅ⲁⲩⲃⲱⲕ ⲇⲉ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲁⲩϩⲉ ⲉⲡⲥⲏϭ ⲉϥⲙⲏⲣ ⲉⲩⲣⲟ ϩⲙ ⲫⲓⲣ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲁⲩⲃⲟⲗϥ
5 Some of those who stood there asked them, "What are you doing, untying the young donkey?"
ⲉ̅ϩⲟⲓⲛⲉ ⲇⲉ ⲛⲛⲉⲧⲁϩⲉⲣⲁⲧⲟⲩ ϩⲙ ⲡⲙⲁ ⲉⲧⲙⲙⲁⲩ ⲡⲉϫⲁⲩ ⲛⲁⲩ ϫⲉ ⲉⲧⲉⲧⲛⲣⲟⲩ ⲉⲧⲉⲧⲛⲃⲱⲗ ⲙⲡⲥⲏϭ
6 They said to them just as Yeshua had said, and they let them go.
ⲋ̅ⲛⲧⲟⲟⲩ ⲇⲉ ⲁⲩϣⲁϫⲉ ⲛⲙⲙⲁⲩ ⲕⲁⲧⲁ ⲑⲉ ⲉⲛⲧⲁ ⲓⲏⲥ ϫⲟⲟⲥ ⲛⲁⲩ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲁⲩⲕⲁⲁⲩ
7 They brought the young donkey to Yeshua, and threw their garments on it, and Yeshua sat on it.
ⲍ̅ⲁⲩⲛⲡⲥⲏϭ ⲇⲉ ⲉⲣⲁⲧϥ ⲛⲓⲏⲥ ⲁⲩⲡⲣϣⲛⲉⲩϩⲟⲓⲧⲉ ϩⲓϫⲱϥ ⲁϥϩⲙⲟⲟⲥ ϩⲓϫⲱϥ
8 Many spread their garments on the way, and others spread branches which they had cut from the fields.
ⲏ̅ⲕⲉⲙⲏⲏϣⲉ ⲟⲛ ⲁⲩⲡⲣϣⲛⲉⲩϩⲟⲓⲧⲉ ϩⲛ ⲧⲉϩⲓⲏ ϩⲉⲛⲕⲟⲟⲩⲉ ⲇⲉ ⲁⲩϣⲱⲱⲧ ⲛϩⲉⲛⲕⲗⲁⲇⲟⲥ ϩⲛ ⲛⲥⲱϣⲉ
9 Those who went in front, and those who followed, shouted, "Ushanna. Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord.
ⲑ̅ⲁⲩⲱ ⲛⲉⲧϩⲓϩⲏ ⲙⲙⲟϥ ⲙⲛ ⲛⲉⲧⲟⲩⲏϩ ⲛⲥⲱϥ ⲛⲉⲩϫⲓϣⲕⲁⲕ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϫⲉ ⲱⲥⲁⲛⲛⲁ ϥⲥⲙⲁⲙⲁⲁⲧ ⲛϭⲓ ⲡⲉⲧⲛⲏⲩ ϩⲙ ⲡⲣⲁⲛ ⲙⲡϫⲟⲉⲓⲥ
10 Blessed is the kingdom of our father Dawid. Ushanna in the highest."
ⲓ̅ⲥⲥⲙⲁⲙⲁⲁⲧ ⲛϭⲓ ⲧⲙⲛⲧⲣⲣⲟ ⲉⲧⲛⲏⲩ ⲙⲡⲉⲛⲉⲓⲱⲧ ⲇⲁⲩⲉⲓⲇ ⲱⲥⲁⲛⲛⲁ ϩⲛ ⲛⲉⲧϫⲟⲥⲉ
11 And he entered into the temple in Urishlim. When he had looked around at everything, it being now evening, he went out to Beth-Naiya with the twelve.
ⲓ̅ⲁ̅ⲁⲩⲱ ⲁϥⲃⲱⲕ ⲉϩⲟⲩⲛ ⲉⲑⲓⲉⲣⲟⲥⲟⲗⲩⲙⲁ ⲉⲡⲉⲣⲡⲉ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲛⲧⲉⲣⲉϥⲕⲧⲉⲓⲁⲧϥ ϩⲙ ⲡⲙⲁ ⲧⲏⲣϥ ⲉⲁⲣⲟⲩϩⲉ ⲏⲇⲏ ϣⲱⲡⲉ ⲁϥⲉⲓ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲉⲃⲏⲑⲁⲛⲓⲁ ⲙⲛⲡⲙⲛⲧⲥⲛⲟⲟⲩⲥ
12 The next day, when they had come out from Beth-Naiya, he was hungry.
ⲓ̅ⲃ̅ⲁⲩⲱ ⲙⲡⲉϥⲣⲁⲥⲧⲉ ⲛⲧⲉⲣⲟⲩⲉⲓ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲛⲃⲏⲑⲁⲛⲓⲁ ⲁϥϩⲕⲟ
13 Seeing a fig tree afar off having leaves, he came to see if perhaps he might find anything on it. When he came to it, he found nothing but leaves, for it was not the season for figs.
ⲓ̅ⲅ̅ⲁⲩⲱ ⲛⲧⲉⲣⲉϥⲛⲁⲩ ⲉⲩⲃⲱ ⲛⲕⲛⲧⲉ ⲙⲡⲟⲩⲉ ⲉⲣⲉϩⲉⲛϭⲱⲃⲉ ϩⲓⲱⲱⲥ ⲁϥⲃⲱⲕ ⲉⲣⲁⲧⲥ ϫⲉ ⲙⲉϣⲁⲕ ⲉϥⲉϭⲛⲗⲁⲁⲩ ⲛϩⲏⲧⲥ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲛⲧⲉⲣⲉϥⲉⲓ ⲙⲡϥϭⲛⲗⲁⲁⲩ ϩⲓⲱⲱⲥ ⲛⲥⲁϭⲱⲃⲉ ⲙⲙⲁⲧⲉ ⲛⲉⲡⲥⲏⲩ ⲅⲁⲣ ⲁⲛ ⲡⲉ ⲙⲡⲕⲛⲧⲉ
14 Yeshua told it, "May no one ever eat fruit from you again." and his disciples heard it. (aiōn g165)
ⲓ̅ⲇ̅ⲁϥⲟⲩⲱϣⲃ ⲇⲉ ⲉϥϫⲱ ⲙⲙⲟⲥ ⲛⲁⲥ ϫⲉ ⲛⲛⲉⲗⲁⲁⲩ ϫⲓⲛ ⲙⲡⲉⲓⲛⲁⲩ ⲟⲩⲉⲙⲕⲁⲣⲡⲟⲥ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲛϩⲏⲧⲉ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲛⲉϥⲙⲁⲑⲏⲧⲏⲥ ⲛⲉⲩⲥⲱⲧⲙ (aiōn g165)
15 They came to Urishlim, and he entered into the temple, and began to throw out those who sold and those who bought in the temple, and overthrew the tables of the money changers, and the seats of those who sold the doves.
ⲓ̅ⲉ̅ⲁⲩⲃⲱⲕ ⲇⲉ ⲉϩⲟⲩⲛ ⲉⲑⲓⲉⲣⲟⲥⲟⲗⲩⲙⲁ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲛⲧⲉⲣⲉϥⲃⲱⲕ ⲉϩⲟⲩⲛ ⲉⲡⲉⲣⲡⲉ ⲁϥⲁⲣⲭⲉⲓ ⲛⲛⲟⲩϫⲉ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲛⲛⲉⲧϯ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲙⲛ ⲛⲉⲧⲧⲟⲟⲩ ϩⲙ ⲡⲉⲣⲡⲉ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲛⲉⲧⲣⲁⲡⲉⲍⲁ ⲣⲣⲉϥϫⲓⲕⲟⲗⲩⲙⲃⲟⲛ ⲁϥⲧⲁⲩⲟⲟⲩ ⲉⲡⲉⲥⲏⲧ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲙⲙⲁ ⲛϩⲙⲟⲟⲥ ⲛⲛⲉⲧϯϭⲣⲟⲟⲙⲡⲉ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ
16 He would not allow anyone to carry a container through the temple.
ⲓ̅ⲋ̅ⲉⲡϥⲕⲁⲗⲁⲁⲩ ⲉϫⲓⲥⲕⲉⲩⲏ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲙ ⲡⲉⲣⲡⲉ
17 He taught, saying to them, "Is it not written, 'My house will be called a house of prayer for all the nations?' But you have made it a den of robbers."
ⲓ̅ⲍ̅ⲁⲩⲱ ⲛⲉϥϯ ⲥⲃⲱ ⲛⲁⲩ ⲉϥϫⲱ ⲙⲙⲟⲥ ϫⲉ ⲛϥⲥⲏϩ ⲁⲛ ϫⲉ ⲡⲁⲏⲓ ⲉⲩⲛⲁⲙⲟⲩⲧⲉ ⲉⲣⲟϥ ϫⲉ ⲡⲏⲉⲓ ⲙⲡⲉϣⲗⲏⲗ ⲛⲛϩⲉⲑⲛⲟⲥ ⲧⲏⲣⲟⲩ ⲛⲧⲱⲧⲛ ⲇⲉ ⲁⲧⲉⲧⲛⲁⲁϥ ⲛⲥⲡⲏⲗⲁⲓⲟⲛ ⲛⲥⲟⲟⲛⲉ
18 The chief priests and the scribes heard it, and sought how they might destroy him. For they feared him, because all the crowd was astonished at his teaching.
ⲓ̅ⲏ̅ⲁⲩⲱ ⲁⲩⲥⲱⲧⲙ ⲛϭⲓ ⲛⲁⲣⲭⲓⲉⲣⲉⲩⲥ ⲙⲛ ⲛⲉⲅⲣⲁⲙⲙⲁⲧⲉⲩⲥ ⲁⲩⲕⲱⲧⲉ ⲛⲥⲁⲑⲉ ⲙⲙⲟⲟⲩⲧϥ ⲛⲉⲩⲣ ϩⲟⲧⲉ ⲅⲁⲣ ϩⲏⲧϥ ⲡⲙⲏⲏϣⲉ ⲅⲁⲣ ⲧⲏⲣϥ ⲛⲉϥⲣϣⲡⲏⲣⲉ ⲉϫⲛ ⲧⲉϥⲥⲃⲱ
19 When evening came, they went out of the city.
ⲓ̅ⲑ̅ⲁⲩⲱ ⲛⲧⲉⲣⲉⲣⲟⲩϩⲉ ϣⲱⲡⲉ ⲁϥⲣⲡⲃⲟⲗ ⲛⲧⲡⲟⲗⲓⲥ
20 As they passed by in the morning, they saw the fig tree withered away from the roots.
ⲕ̅ⲛⲧⲉⲣⲟⲩⲡⲁⲣⲁⲅⲉ ⲇⲉ ϩⲧⲟⲟⲩ ⲁⲩⲛⲁⲩ ⲉⲧⲃⲛⲕⲛⲧⲉ ⲁⲥϣⲟⲟⲩⲉ ϫⲓⲛ ⲛⲉⲥⲛⲟⲩⲛⲉ
21 Kipha, remembering, said to him, "Teacher, look. The fig tree which you cursed has withered away."
ⲕ̅ⲁ̅ⲁⲩⲱ ⲛⲧⲉⲣⲉϥⲣⲡⲙⲉⲉⲩⲉ ⲛϭⲓ ⲡⲉⲧⲣⲟⲥ ⲡⲉϫⲁϥ ⲛⲁϥ ϫⲉ ϩⲣⲁⲃⲃⲉⲓ ⲁⲛⲁⲩ ⲉⲧⲃⲛⲕⲛⲧⲉ ⲛⲧⲁⲕⲥϩⲟⲩⲱⲣⲥ ⲛⲧⲁⲥϣⲟⲟⲩⲉ
22 Yeshua answered them, "Have faith in God.
ⲕ̅ⲃ̅ⲁϥⲟⲩⲱϣⲃ ⲇⲉ ⲛϭⲓ ⲓⲏⲥ ⲉϥϫⲱ ⲙⲙⲟⲥ ⲛⲁⲩ ϫⲉ ⲕⲁⲧⲡⲓⲥⲧⲓⲥ ⲙⲡⲛⲟⲩⲧⲉ ⲛϩⲏⲧⲧⲏⲩⲧⲛ
23 Truly I tell you, whoever may tell this mountain, 'Be taken up and cast into the sea,' and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that what he says will happen, it will be done for him.
ⲕ̅ⲅ̅ϩⲁⲙⲏⲛ ϯϫⲱ ⲙⲙⲟⲥ ⲛⲏⲧⲛ ϫⲉ ⲡⲉⲧⲛⲁϫⲟⲟⲥ ⲙⲡⲉⲓⲧⲟⲟⲩ ϫⲉ ⲡⲱⲱⲛⲉ ⲛⲅⲃⲱⲕ ⲉⲧⲉⲑⲁⲗⲁⲥⲥⲁ ⲛϥⲧⲙⲣϩⲏⲧ ⲥⲛⲁⲩ ϩⲙ ⲡⲉϥϩⲏⲧ ⲁⲗⲗⲁ ⲛϥⲡⲓⲥⲧⲉⲩⲉ ϫⲉ ⲡⲉⲧϥϫⲱ ⲙⲙⲟϥ ϥⲛⲁϣⲱⲡⲉ ⲛⲁϥ
24 Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.
ⲕ̅ⲇ̅ⲉⲧⲃⲉ ⲡⲁⲓ ϯϫⲱ ⲙⲙⲟⲥ ⲛⲏⲧⲛ ϫⲉ ϩⲱⲃ ⲛⲓⲙ ⲉⲧⲉⲧⲛⲛⲁϣⲗⲏⲗ ⲉⲣⲟⲟⲩ ⲉⲧⲉⲧⲛⲁⲓⲧⲓ ⲙⲙⲟⲟⲩ ⲡⲓⲥⲧⲉⲩⲉ ϫⲉ ⲁⲧⲉⲧⲛϫⲓⲧⲟⲩ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲥⲉⲛⲁϣⲱⲡⲉ ⲛⲏⲧⲛ
25 Whenever you stand praying, forgive, if you have anything against anyone; so that your Father, who is in heaven, may also forgive you your wrongdoing.
ⲕ̅ⲉ̅ⲁⲩⲱ ⲉⲧⲉⲧⲛϣⲁⲁϩⲉⲣⲁⲧ ⲧⲏⲛⲟⲩ ⲉϣⲗⲏⲗ ⲕⲱ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲙⲡⲉⲧⲉⲩⲛⲧⲏⲧⲛϥ ⲉⲣⲱⲙⲉ ϫⲉⲕⲁⲥ ⲡⲉⲧⲛⲉⲓⲱⲧ ⲉⲧϩⲛ ⲙⲡⲏⲩⲉ ⲉϥⲉⲕⲱ ⲛⲏⲧⲛ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲛⲛⲉⲧⲛⲛⲟⲃⲉ
26 But if you do not forgive, neither will your Father in heaven forgive your wrongdoing."
ⲕ̅ⲋ̅
27 They came again to Urishlim, and as he was walking in the temple, the chief priests, and the scribes, and the elders came to him,
ⲕ̅ⲍ̅ⲁⲩⲉⲓ ⲟⲛ ⲉϩⲣⲁⲓ ⲉⲑⲓⲉⲣⲟⲥⲟⲗⲩⲙⲁ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲉϥⲙⲟⲟϣⲉ ϩⲙ ⲡⲉⲣⲡⲉ ⲁⲩϯⲡⲉⲩⲟⲓ ⲉⲣⲟϥ ⲛϭⲓ ⲛⲁⲣⲭⲓⲉⲣⲉⲩⲥ ⲙⲛ ⲛⲉⲅⲣⲁⲙⲙⲁⲧⲉⲩⲥ ⲙⲛ ⲛⲉⲡⲣⲉⲥⲃⲩⲧⲉⲣⲟⲥ
28 and they began saying to him, "By what authority do you do these things? And who gave you this authority to do these things?"
ⲕ̅ⲏ̅ⲉⲩϫⲱ ⲙⲙⲟⲥ ⲛⲁϥ ϫⲉ ⲛⲁⲓ ⲉⲕⲉⲓⲣⲉ ⲙⲙⲟⲟⲩ ϩⲛ ⲁϣ ⲛⲉⲝⲟⲩⲥⲓⲁ ⲏ ⲛⲓⲙ ⲡⲉ ⲛⲧⲁϥϯ ⲛⲁⲕ ⲛⲧⲉⲓⲉⲝⲟⲩⲥⲓⲁ ϫⲉⲕⲁⲥ ⲉⲕⲉⲣⲛⲁⲓ
29 Yeshua said to them, "I will also ask you one question. Answer me, and I will tell you by what authority I do these things.

31 They reasoned with themselves, saying, "If we should say, 'From heaven;' he will say, 'Why then did you not believe him?'

32 If we should say, 'From people'"—they feared the crowd, for all held Yukhanan to really be a prophet.
