Luke 9
1 He called the twelve together, and gave them power and authority over all demons and to cure diseases.
Y juntando sus doce discípulos, les dio virtud y potestad sobre todos los demonios, y que sanasen enfermedades.
2 He sent them forth to proclaim the Kingdom of God, and to heal the sick.
Y los envió a que predicasen el reino de Dios, y que sanasen los enfermos.
3 And he said to them, "Take nothing for your journey—neither staff, nor pack, nor bread, nor money; neither have two tunics.
Y les dijo: No toméis nada para el camino, ni bordones, ni alforja, ni pan, ni dinero, ni tengáis dos vestidos.
4 Into whatever house you enter, stay there, and depart from there.
Y en cualquiera casa que entrareis, quedád allí, y salíd de allí.
5 As many as do not receive you, when you depart from that city, shake off even the dust from your feet for a testimony against them."
Y todos los que no os recibieren, saliéndoos de aquella ciudad, aun el polvo sacudíd de vuestros pies en testimonio contra ellos.
6 They departed, and went throughout the villages, preaching the Good News, and healing everywhere.
Y saliendo ellos, rodeaban por todas las aldeas anunciando el evangelio, y sanando por todas partes.
7 Now Herod the tetrarch heard of all that was done; and he was very perplexed, because it was said by some that Yukhanan had risen from the dead,
Y oyó Heródes el tetrarca todas las cosas que hacía, y estaba en duda, porque decían algunos: Que Juan había resucitado de los muertos;
8 and by some that Eliya had appeared, and by others that one of the old prophets had risen again.
Y otros: Que Elías había aparecido; y otros: Que algún profeta de los antiguos había resucitado.
9 Herod said, "Yukhanan I beheaded, but who is this, about whom I hear such things?" He sought to see him.
Y dijo Heródes: A Juan yo le degollé: ¿quién pues será éste, de quien yo oigo tales cosas? Y procuraba verle.
10 The apostles, when they had returned, told him what things they had done. He took them, and withdrew apart to a city called Beth-Sayada.
Y vueltos los apóstoles, le contaron todas las cosas que habían hecho. Y tomándolos, se apartó aparte a un lugar desierto de la ciudad que se llama Betsaida.
11 But the crowds, perceiving it, followed him. He welcomed them, and spoke to them of the Kingdom of God, and he cured those who needed healing.
Lo cual como las gentes entendieron, le siguieron; y él les recibió, y les hablaba del reino de Dios; y sanó a los que tenían necesidad de cura.
12 The day began to wear away; and the twelve came, and said to him, "Send the crowd away, that they may go into the surrounding villages and farms, and lodge, and get food, for we are here in a deserted place."
Y el día había comenzado a declinar; y llegándose los doce, le dijeron: Despide la multitud, para que yendo a las aldeas y heredades de al derredor, se alberguen y hallen viandas; porque aquí estamos en lugar desierto.
13 But he said to them, "You give them something to eat." They said, "We have no more than five loaves and two fish, unless we should go and buy food for all these people."
Y les dice: Dádles vosotros de comer. Y dijeron ellos: No tenemos más de cinco panes y dos peces, si no vamos nosotros a comprar viandas para toda esta gente.
14 For they were about five thousand men. He said to his disciples, "Make them sit down in groups of about fifty each."
Y eran como cinco mil hombres. Entonces dijo a sus discípulos: Hacédlos recostar por ranchos de cincuenta en cincuenta.
15 They did so, and made them all sit down.
Y así lo hicieron; y recostáronse todos.
16 He took the five loaves and the two fish, and looking up to the sky, he blessed them, and broke them, and gave them to the disciples to set before the crowd.
Y tomando los cinco panes y los dos peces, mirando al cielo los bendijo; y rompió, y dio a sus discípulos para que pusiesen delante de la multitud.
17 They ate, and were all filled. They gathered up twelve baskets of broken pieces that were left over.
Y comieron todos, y se hartaron; y alzaron lo que les sobró, los pedazos, doce esportones.
18 It happened, as he was praying alone, that the disciples were with him, and he asked them, "Who do the crowds say that I am?"
Y aconteció, que estando él solo orando, estaban con él los discípulos, y les preguntó, diciendo: ¿Quién dicen las gentes que soy yo?
19 They answered, "'Yukhanan the Baptist,' but others say, 'Eliya,' and others, that one of the old prophets is risen again."
Y ellos respondieron, y dijeron: Juan el Bautista; y otros: Elías; y otros, que algún profeta de los antiguos ha resucitado.
20 He said to them, "But who do you say that I am?" Kipha answered, "The Meshikha of God."
Y él les dijo: ¿Mas vosotros, quién decís que soy? Entonces respondiendo Simón Pedro, dijo: El Cristo de Dios.
21 But he warned them, and commanded them to tell this to no one,
Entonces él encomendándoles estrechamente, les mandó que a nadie dijesen esto,
22 saying, "The Son of Man must suffer many things, and be rejected by the elders, chief priests, and scribes, and be killed, and the third day be raised up."
Diciendo: Es menester que el Hijo del hombre padezca muchas cosas, y ser desechado de los ancianos, y de los príncipes de los sacerdotes, y de los escribas, y ser muerto, y resucitar al tercero día.
23 He said to all, "If anyone desires to come after me, let him deny himself, take up his cross daily, and follow me.
Y decía a todos: Si alguno quiere venir en pos de mí, niéguese a sí mismo, y tome su cruz cada día, y sígame.
24 For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever will lose his life for my sake, the same will save it.
Porque cualquiera que quisiere salvar su vida, la perderá; y cualquiera que perdiere su vida por causa de mí, éste la salvará.
25 For what does it profit a person if he gains the whole world, and loses or forfeits his own self?
Porque ¿qué aprovecha al hombre, si granjeare todo el mundo, y se pierda él a sí mismo, o corra peligro de sí?
26 For whoever will be ashamed of me and of my words, of him will the Son of Man be ashamed, when he comes in his glory, and the glory of the Father, and of the holy angels.
Porque el que se avergonzare de mí y de mis palabras, de este tal el Hijo del hombre se avergonzará, cuando vendrá en su gloria, y del Padre, y de los santos ángeles.
27 But I tell you the truth: There are some of those who stand here, who will in no way taste of death, until they see the Kingdom of God."
Y os digo de verdad, que hay algunos de los que están aquí, que no gustarán la muerte, hasta que vean el reino de Dios.
28 It happened about eight days after these sayings, that he took with him Kipha, Yukhanan, and Yaquv, and went up onto the mountain to pray.
Y aconteció que después de estas palabras, como ocho días, tomó a Pedro, y a Juan, y a Santiago, y subió a un monte a orar.
29 As he was praying, the appearance of his face was altered, and his clothing became white and dazzling.
Y entre tanto que oraba, la apariencia de su rostro se hizo otra; y su vestido blanco y resplandeciente.
30 And look, two men were talking with him, who were Mushe and Eliya,
Y, he aquí, dos varones que hablaban con él, los cuales eran Moisés, y Elías,
31 who appeared in glory, and spoke of his departure, which he was about to accomplish at Urishlim.
Que aparecieron en gloria, y hablaban de su salida, la cual había de cumplir en Jerusalem.
32 Now Kipha and those who were with him were heavy with sleep, but when they were fully awake, they saw his glory, and the two men who stood with him.
Y Pedro, y los que estaban con él, estaban cargados de sueño; y como despertaron, vieron su gloria, y a los dos varones que estaban con él.
33 It happened, as they were parting from him, that Kipha said to Yeshua, "Master, it is good for us to be here. Let us make three tents: one for you, and one for Mushe, and one for Eliya," not knowing what he said.
Y aconteció, que apartándose ellos de él, Pedro dice a Jesús: Maestro, bien es que nos quedemos aquí; y hagamos tres cabañas, una para ti, y una para Moisés, y una para Elías; no sabiendo lo que se decía.
34 While he said these things, a cloud came and overshadowed them, and they were afraid as they entered into the cloud.
Y estando él hablando esto, vino una nube que los hizo sombra; y tuvieron temor entrando ellos en la nube.
35 A voice came out of the cloud, saying, "This is my Son, my Chosen One. Listen to him."
Y vino una voz de la nube, que decía: Este es mi Hijo amado, a él oíd.
36 When the voice came, Yeshua was found alone. They were silent, and told no one in those days any of the things which they had seen.
Y pasada aquella voz, Jesús fue hallado solo, y ellos callaron, y por aquellos días no dijeron nada a nadie de lo que habían visto.
37 It happened on the next day, when they had come down from the mountain, that a large crowd met him.
Y aconteció el día siguiente, que bajando ellos del monte, un gran gentío le salió al encuentro;
38 And look, a man from the crowd called out, saying, "Teacher, I beg you to look at my son, for he is my only child.
Y, he aquí, que un hombre de la multitud clamó, diciendo: Maestro, ruégote que veas a mi hijo el único que tengo.
39 And look, a spirit seizes him, and all at once he cries out, and it convulses him so that he foams, and it hardly departs from him, bruising him severely.
Y, he aquí, un espíritu le toma, y de repente da voces; y le despedaza de modo que echa espuma, y apenas se aparta de él, quebrantándole.
40 I begged your disciples to cast it out, and they could not."
Y rogué a tus discípulos que le echasen fuera, y no pudieron.
41 Yeshua answered, "Faithless and perverse generation, how long must I be with you and put up with you? Bring your son here."
Y respondiendo Jesús, dijo: ¡Oh generación infiel y perversa! ¿hasta cuándo tengo de estar con vosotros, y os sufriré? Trae tu hijo acá.
42 While he was still coming, the demon threw him down and convulsed him violently. But Yeshua rebuked the unclean spirit, and healed the boy, and gave him back to his father.
Y como aun se acercaba, el demonio le derribó, y le despedazó; mas Jesús riñó al espíritu inmundo, y sanó al muchacho, y le volvió a su padre.
43 They were all astonished at the majesty of God. But while all were marveling at all the things which Yeshua did, he said to his disciples,
Y todos estaban fuera de sí de la grandeza de Dios. Y maravillándose todos de todas las cosas que hacía, dijo a sus discípulos:
44 "Let these words sink into your ears, for the Son of Man will be delivered up into the hands of men."
Ponéd vosotros en vuestros oídos estas palabras; porque ha de acontecer que el Hijo del hombre será entregado en manos de hombres.
45 But they did not understand this saying. It was concealed from them, that they should not perceive it, and they were afraid to ask him about this saying.
Mas ellos no entendían esta palabra; y les era encubierta para que no la entendiesen, y temían de preguntarle de esta palabra.
46 There arose an argument among them about which of them was the greatest.
Entonces entraron en disputa, cual de ellos sería el mayor.
47 Yeshua, knowing the reasoning of their hearts, took a little child, and set him by his side,
Mas Jesús, viendo los pensamientos del corazón de ellos, tomó un niño, y le puso junto a sí,
48 and said to them, "Whoever receives this little child in my name receives me. Whoever receives me receives him who sent me. For whoever is least among you all, this one is great."
Y les dice: Cualquiera que recibiere este niño en mi nombre, a mí recibe; y cualquiera que me recibiere a mí, recibe al que me envió; porque el que fuere el menor entre todos vosotros, éste será el grande.
49 Yukhanan answered, "Master, we saw someone casting out demons in your name, and we forbade him, because he does not follow with us."
Entonces respondiendo Juan, dijo: Maestro, hemos visto a uno que echaba fuera demonios en tu nombre, y se lo vedamos, porque no te sigue con nosotros.
50 Yeshua said to him, "Do not forbid him, for he who is not against you is for you."
Jesús le dijo: No se lo vedéis, porque el que no es contra nosotros, por nosotros es.
51 It came to pass, when the days were near that he should be taken up, he intently set his face to go to Urishlim,
Y aconteció que como se cumplió el tiempo en que había de ser recibido arriba, él afirmó su rostro para ir a Jerusalem.
52 and sent messengers before his face. They went, and entered into a village of the Samaritans, so as to prepare for him.
Y envió mensajeros delante de sí, los cuales fueron, y entraron en una ciudad de los Samaritanos, para aderezarle allí.
53 But they did not receive him, because he was traveling with his face set towards Urishlim.
Mas no le recibieron, porque su rostro era de hombre que iba a Jerusalem.
54 When his disciples, Yaquv and Yukhanan, saw this, they said, "Lord, do you want us to command fire to come down from the sky, and consume them?"
Y viendo esto sus discípulos, Santiago y Juan dijeron: Señor, ¿quiéres que mandemos que descienda fuego del cielo, y los consuma, como también hizo Elías?
55 And he turned and rebuked them, and said, "You do not realize what kind of Rukha you belong to.
Entonces volviendo él, les riñó, diciendo: Vosotros no sabéis de que espíritu sois:
56 For the Son of Man did not come to destroy people's lives, but to save them." And they went to another village.
Porque el Hijo del hombre no ha venido para perder las vidas de los hombres, sino para salvar las. Y se fueron a otra aldea.
57 As they went on the way, a certain man said to him, "I want to follow you wherever you go."
Y aconteció que yendo ellos, uno le dijo en el camino: Señor, yo te seguiré donde quiera que fueres.
58 And Yeshua said to him, "The foxes have holes, and the birds of the sky have nests, but the Son of Man has no place to lay his head."
Y le dijo Jesús: Las zorras tienen cuevas, y las aves de los cielos nidos; mas el Hijo del hombre no tiene donde recline su cabeza.
59 He said to another, "Follow me." But he said, "Lord, allow me first to go and bury my father."
Y dijo a otro: Sígueme. Y él dijo: Señor, déjame que primero vaya, y entierre a mi padre.
60 But Yeshua said to him, "Leave the dead to bury their own dead, but you go and announce the Kingdom of God."
Y Jesús le dijo: Deja los muertos que entierren a sus muertos; mas tú vé, y anuncia el reino de Dios.
61 Another also said, "I want to follow you, Lord, but first allow me to bid farewell to those who are at my house."
Entonces también dijo otro: Seguirte he, Señor: mas déjame que me despida primero de los que están en mi casa.
62 But Yeshua said to him, "No one, having put his hand to the plow, and looking back, is fit for the Kingdom of God."
Y Jesús le dijo: Ninguno que poniendo su mano al arado mirare atrás, es apto para el reino de Dios.
