John 1
1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
Εν αρχή ήτο ο Λόγος, και ο Λόγος ήτο παρά τω Θεώ, και Θεός ήτο ο Λόγος.
2 He was in the beginning with God.
Ούτος ήτο εν αρχή παρά τω Θεώ.
3 All things were made through him, and apart from him nothing was made that has been made.
Πάντα δι' αυτού έγειναν, και χωρίς αυτού δεν έγεινεν ουδέ εν, το οποίον έγεινεν.
4 In him was life, and the life was the light of humanity.
Εν αυτώ ήτο ζωή, και η ζωή ήτο το φως των ανθρώπων.
5 And the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness hasn't overcome it.
Και το φως εν τη σκοτία φέγγει και η σκοτία δεν κατέλαβεν αυτό.
6 There came a man, sent from God, whose name was Yukhanan.
Υπήρξεν άνθρωπος απεσταλμένος παρά Θεού, ονομαζόμενος Ιωάννης·
7 He came as a witness to testify about the light, that all might believe through him.
ούτος ήλθεν εις μαρτυρίαν, διά να μαρτυρήση περί του φωτός, διά να πιστεύσωσι πάντες δι' αυτού.
8 He was not the light, but was sent that he might testify about the light.
Δεν ήτο εκείνος το φως, αλλά διά να μαρτυρήση περί του φωτός.
9 The true light that enlightens everyone was coming into the world.
Ήτο το φως το αληθινόν, το οποίον φωτίζει πάντα άνθρωπον ερχόμενον εις τον κόσμον.
10 He was in the world, and the world was made through him, but the world did not recognize him.
Ήτο εν τω κόσμω, και ο κόσμος έγεινε δι' αυτού, και ο κόσμος δεν εγνώρισεν αυτόν.
11 He came to his own, and those who were his own did not receive him.
Εις τα ίδια ήλθε, και οι ίδιοι δεν εδέχθησαν αυτόν.
12 But as many as received him, to them he gave the right to become God's children, to those who believe in his name,
Όσοι δε εδέχθησαν αυτόν, εις αυτούς έδωκεν εξουσίαν να γείνωσι τέκνα Θεού, εις τους πιστεύοντας εις το όνομα αυτού·
13 who were born not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.
οίτινες ουχί εξ αιμάτων ουδέ εκ θελήματος σαρκός ουδέ εκ θελήματος ανδρός, αλλ' εκ Θεού εγεννήθησαν.
14 And the Word became flesh and lived among us, and we saw his glory, such glory as of the one and only of the Father, full of grace and truth.
Και ο Λόγος έγεινε σαρξ και κατώκησε μεταξύ ημών, και είδομεν την δόξαν αυτού, δόξαν ως μονογενούς παρά του Πατρός, πλήρης χάριτος και αληθείας.
15 Yukhanan testified about him. He shouted out, saying, "This was the one of whom I said, 'He who comes after me has surpassed me, for he was before me.'"
Ο Ιωάννης μαρτυρεί περί αυτού και εφώναξε, λέγων· Ούτος ήτο περί ου είπον, Ο οπίσω μου ερχόμενος είναι ανώτερος μου, διότι ήτο πρότερός μου.
16 For of his fullness we all received, and grace upon grace.
Και πάντες ημείς ελάβομεν εκ του πληρώματος αυτού και χάριν αντί χάριτος·
17 For the Law was given through Mushe, grace and truth came through Yeshua Meshikha.
διότι και ο νόμος εδόθη διά του Μωϋσέως· η δε χάρις και αλήθεια έγεινε διά Ιησού Χριστού.
18 No one has seen God at any time. The only Son, who is at the Father's side, has made him known.
Ουδείς είδε ποτέ τον Θεόν· ο μονογενής Υιός, ο ων εις τον κόλπον του Πατρός, εκείνος εφανέρωσεν αυτόν.
19 And this is Yukhanan's testimony, when the Jewish leaders sent priests and Levites from Urishlim to ask him, "Who are you?"
Και αύτη είναι η μαρτυρία του Ιωάννου, ότε απέστειλαν οι Ιουδαίοι εξ Ιεροσολύμων ιερείς και Λευΐτας διά να ερωτήσωσιν αυτόν· Συ τις είσαι;
20 And he confessed, and did not deny, but he confessed, "I am not the Meshikha."
Και ώμολόγησε και δεν ηρνήθη· και ώμολόγησεν ότι δεν είμαι εγώ ο Χριστός.
21 And they asked him, "What then? Are you Eliya?" And he said, "I am not." "Are you the Prophet?" And he answered, "No."
Και ηρώτησαν αυτόν· Τι λοιπόν; Ηλίας είσαι συ; και λέγει, δεν είμαι. Ο προφήτης είσαι συ; και απεκρίθη, Ουχί.
22 They said therefore to him, "Who are you? Give us an answer to take back to those who sent us. What do you say about yourself?"
Είπον λοιπόν προς αυτόν· Τις είσαι; διά να δώσωμεν απόκρισιν εις τους αποστείλαντας ημάς· τι λέγεις περί σεαυτού;
23 He said, "I am the voice of one crying in the wilderness, 'Make straight the way of the Lord,' as Eshaya the prophet said."
Απεκρίθη· Εγώ είμαι φωνή βοώντος εν τη ερήμω, ευθύνατε την οδόν του Κυρίου, καθώς είπεν Ησαΐας ο προφήτης.
24 (Now they had been sent from the Pharisees.)
Οι δε απεσταλμένοι ήσαν εκ των Φαρισαίων·
25 And they asked him, "Why then do you baptize, if you are not the Meshikha, nor Eliya, nor the Prophet?"
και ηρώτησαν αυτόν και είπον προς αυτόν· Διά τι λοιπόν βαπτίζεις, εάν συ δεν είσαι ο Χριστός ούτε ο Ηλίας ούτε ο προφήτης;
26 Yukhanan answered them, saying, "I baptize in water, but among you stands one whom you do not know.
Απεκρίθη προς αυτούς ο Ιωάννης λέγων· Εγώ βαπτίζω εν ύδατι· εν μέσω δε υμών ίσταται εκείνος, τον οποίον σεις δεν γνωρίζετε·
27 He is the one who comes after me, whose sandal strap I'm not worthy to loosen."
αυτός είναι ο οπίσω μου ερχόμενος, όστις είναι ανώτερός μου, του οποίου εγώ δεν είμαι άξιος να λύσω το λωρίον του υποδήματος αυτού.
28 These things were done in Beth-Naiya across the Yurdinan, where Yukhanan was baptizing.
Ταύτα έγειναν εν Βηθαβαρά πέραν του Ιορδάνου, όπου ήτο ο Ιωάννης βαπτίζων.
29 The next day, he saw Yeshua coming to him, and said, "Look, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world.
Τη επαύριον βλέπει ο Ιωάννης τον Ιησούν ερχόμενον προς αυτόν και λέγει· Ιδού, ο Αμνός του Θεού ο αίρων την αμαρτίαν του κόσμου.
30 This is he of whom I said, 'After me comes a man who ranks ahead of me, because he existed before me.'
Ούτος είναι περί ου εγώ είπον· Οπίσω μου έρχεται ανήρ, όστις είναι ανώτερός μου, διότι ήτο πρότερός μου.
31 I did not know him, but for this reason I came baptizing in water: that he would be revealed to Israyel."
Και εγώ δεν εγνώριζον αυτόν, αλλά διά να φανερωθή εις τον Ισραήλ, διά τούτο ήλθον εγώ βαπτίζων εν τω ύδατι.
32 And Yukhanan testified, saying, "I saw the Rukha descending like a dove out of heaven, and it remained on him.
Και εμαρτύρησεν ο Ιωάννης, λέγων ότι Είδον το Πνεύμα καταβαίνον ως περιστεράν εξ ουρανού και έμεινεν επ' αυτόν.
33 And I did not recognize him, but he who sent me to baptize in water, he said to me, 'On whomever you will see the Rukha descending, and remaining on him, this is he who baptizes in the Rukha d'Qudsha.'
Και εγώ δεν εγνώριζον αυτόν· αλλ' ο πέμψας με διά να βαπτίζω εν ύδατι εκείνος μοι είπεν· εις όντινα ίδης το Πνεύμα καταβαίνον και μένον επ' αυτόν, ούτος είναι ο βαπτίζων εν Πνεύματι Αγίω.
34 And I have seen and have testified that this is the Chosen One of God."
Και εγώ είδον και εμαρτύρησα, ότι ούτος είναι ο Υιός του Θεού.
35 Again, the next day, Yukhanan was standing with two of his disciples,
Τη επαύριον πάλιν ίστατο ο Ιωάννης και δύο εκ των μαθητών αυτού,
36 and he looked at Yeshua as he walked, and said, "Look, the Lamb of God."
και εμβλέψας εις τον Ιησούν περιπατούντα, λέγει· Ιδού, ο Αμνός του Θεού.
37 And the two disciples heard him say this, and they followed Yeshua.
Και ήκουσαν αυτόν οι δύο μαθηταί λαλούντα και ηκολούθησαν τον Ιησούν.
38 And Yeshua turned and saw them following, and said to them, "What are you looking for?" They said to him, "Rabbi" (which translated means Teacher), "where are you staying?"
Στραφείς δε ο Ιησούς και ιδών αυτούς ακολουθούντας, λέγει προς αυτούς· Τι ζητείτε; Οι δε είπον προς αυτόν, Ραββί, το οποίον ερμηνευόμενον λέγεται, Διδάσκαλε, που μένεις;
39 He said to them, "Come, and you will see." They came and saw where he was staying, and they stayed with him that day. It was about four in the afternoon.
Λέγει προς αυτούς· Έλθετε και ίδετε, ήλθον και είδον που μένει, και έμειναν παρ' αυτώ την ημέραν εκείνην· η δε ώρα ήτο ως δεκάτη.
40 One of the two who heard Yukhanan, and followed him, was Andreus, Shimon Kipha's brother.
Ήτο Ανδρέας ο αδελφός του Σίμωνος Πέτρου εις εκ των δύο, οίτινες ήκουσαν περί αυτού παρά του Ιωάννου και ηκολούθησαν αυτόν.
41 He first found his own brother, Shimon, and said to him, "We have found the Meshikha." (which is translated, Anointed One).
Ούτος πρώτος ευρίσκει τον εαυτού αδελφόν Σίμωνα και λέγει προς αυτόν· Ευρήκαμεν τον Μεσσίαν, το οποίον μεθερμηνευόμενον είναι ο Χριστός.
42 He brought him to Yeshua. Yeshua looked at him, and said, "You are Shimon the son of Yukhanan. You shall be called Kipha" (which is translated, rock).
Και έφερεν αυτόν προς τον Ιησούν. Εμβλέψας δε εις αυτόν ο Ιησούς είπε· Συ είσαι Σίμων, ο υιός του Ιωνά· συ θέλεις ονομασθή Κηφάς, το οποίον ερμηνεύεται Πέτρος.
43 On the next day, he was determined to go out into Galila, and he found Philipus. And Yeshua said to him, "Follow me."
Τη επαύριον ηθέλησεν ο Ιησούς να εξέλθη εις την Γαλιλαίαν· και ευρίσκει τον Φίλιππον και λέγει προς αυτόν· Ακολούθει μοι.
44 Now Philipus was from Beth-Sayada, of the city of Andreus and Kipha.
Ήτο δε ο Φίλιππος από Βηθσαϊδά, εκ της πόλεως Ανδρέου και Πέτρου.
45 Philipus found Nathanayil, and said to him, "We have found him of whom Mushe in the Law and the Prophets wrote: Yeshua of Natsrath, the son of Yauseph."
Ευρίσκει Φίλιππος τον Ναθαναήλ και λέγει προς αυτόν· Εκείνον τον οποίον έγραψεν ο Μωϋσής εν τω νόμω και οι προφήται ευρήκαμεν, Ιησούν τον υιόν του Ιωσήφ τον από Ναζαρέτ.
46 And Nathanayil said to him, "Can any good thing come out of Natsrath?" Philipus said to him, "Come and see."
Και είπε προς αυτόν ο Ναθαναήλ· Εκ Ναζαρέτ δύναται να προέλθη τι αγαθόν; Λέγει προς αυτόν ο Φίλιππος, Έρχου και ίδε.
47 Yeshua saw Nathanayil coming to him, and said about him, "Look, a true Israyelite in whom there is no deceit."
Είδεν ο Ιησούς τον Ναθαναήλ ερχόμενον προς αυτόν και λέγει περί αυτού· Ιδού, αληθώς Ισραηλίτης, εις τον οποίον δόλος δεν υπάρχει.
48 Nathanayil said to him, "How do you know me?" Yeshua answered him, "Before Philipus called you, when you were under the fig tree, I saw you."
Λέγει προς αυτόν ο Ναθαναήλ· Πόθεν με γινώσκεις; Απεκρίθη ο Ιησούς και είπε προς αυτόν· Πριν ο Φίλιππος σε φωνάξη, όντα υποκάτω της συκής, είδόν σε.
49 Nathanayil answered him, "Rabbi, you are the Son of God. You are King of Israyel."
Απεκρίθη ο Ναθαναήλ και λέγει προς αυτόν· Ραββί, συ είσαι ο Υιός του Θεού, συ είσαι ο βασιλεύς του Ισραήλ.
50 Yeshua answered him, "Because I told you, 'I saw you underneath the fig tree,' do you believe? You will see greater things than these."
Απεκρίθη ο Ιησούς και είπε προς αυτόν· Επειδή σοι είπον· είδόν σε υποκάτω της συκής, πιστεύεις; μεγαλήτερα τούτων θέλεις ιδεί.
51 And he said to him, "Truly, truly, I tell you, you will see heaven opened, and the angels of God ascending and descending on the Son of Man."
Και λέγει προς αυτόν· Αληθώς, αληθώς σας λέγω· από του νυν θέλετε ιδεί τον ουρανόν ανεωγμένον και τους αγγέλους του Θεού αναβαίνοντας και καταβαίνοντας επί τον Υιόν του ανθρώπου.
