< Hebrews 9 >

1 Now indeed even the first had ordinances of divine service, and an earthly sanctuary.
ⲁ̅ⲛⲉⲟⲩⲛⲧⲉ ⲧϣⲟⲣⲡ ⲙⲉⲛ ϩⲉⲛⲇⲓⲕⲁⲓⲱⲙⲁ ⲛϣⲙϣⲉ ⲡⲕⲟⲥⲙⲓⲕⲟⲛ ⲉⲧⲟⲩⲁⲁⲃ
2 For a tabernacle was prepared. In the first part were the lampstand, the table, and the show bread; which is called the Holy Place.
ⲃ̅ⲁⲩⲧⲁⲙⲓⲟ ⲅⲁⲣ ⲛⲧⲉⲥⲕⲏⲛⲏ ⲛϣⲟⲣⲡ ⲧⲁⲓ ⲉⲧⲉⲣⲉⲧⲗⲩⲭⲛⲓⲁ ⲛϩⲏⲧⲥ ⲙⲛ ⲧⲉⲧⲣⲁⲡⲉⲍⲁ ⲙⲛ ⲧⲉⲡⲣⲟⲑⲉⲥⲓⲥ ⲛⲛⲟⲉⲓⲕ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲧϣⲟⲩⲣⲏ ⲛⲛⲟⲩⲃ ⲧⲁⲓ ⲉϣⲁⲩⲙⲟⲩⲧⲉ ⲉⲣⲟⲥ ϫⲉ ⲛⲉⲧⲟⲩⲁⲁⲃ
3 After the second curtain was the tabernacle which is called the Holy of Holies,
ⲅ̅ⲙⲛⲛⲥⲁ ⲡⲙⲉϩⲥⲛⲁⲩ ⲇⲉ ⲛⲕⲁⲧⲁⲡⲉⲧⲁⲥⲙⲁ ⲧⲉⲥⲕⲏⲛⲏ ⲧⲉ ⲉϣⲁⲩⲙⲟⲩⲧⲉ ⲉⲣⲟⲥ ϫⲉ ⲛⲉⲧⲟⲩⲁⲁⲃ ⲛⲛⲉⲧⲟⲩⲁⲁⲃ
4 having a golden censer, and the ark of the covenant overlaid on all sides with gold, in which was a gold jar containing the manna, Ahrun's rod that budded, and the tablets of the covenant;
ⲇ̅ⲉⲣⲉ ⲧϭⲓⲃⲱⲧⲟⲥ ⲛϩⲏⲧⲥ ⲛⲧⲇⲓⲁⲑⲏⲕⲏ ⲉⲧϭⲟⲟⲗⲉ ⲛⲛⲟⲩⲃ ⲛⲥⲁⲥⲁ ⲛⲓⲙ ⲧⲁⲓ ⲉⲧⲉⲣⲉⲡϭⲗⲙⲁⲓ ⲛⲛⲟⲩⲃ ⲛϩⲏⲧⲥ ⲉⲣⲉⲡⲙⲁⲛⲛⲁ ⲛϩⲏⲧϥ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲡϭⲉⲣⲱⲃ ⲛⲁⲁⲣⲱⲛ ⲉⲛⲧⲁϥϯ ⲟⲩⲱ ⲙⲛ ⲛⲉⲡⲗⲁⲝ ⲛⲧⲇⲓⲁⲑⲏⲕⲏ
5 and above it cherubim of glory overshadowing the mercy seat, of which things we cannot speak now in detail.
ⲉ̅ⲛⲧⲡⲉ ⲇⲉ ⲙⲙⲟⲥ ϩⲉⲛⲭⲉⲣⲟⲩⲃⲓⲛ ⲛⲉⲟⲟⲩ ⲛⲉ ⲉⲩⲣϩⲁⲓⲃⲉⲥ ⲉⲡϩⲓⲗⲁⲥⲧⲏⲣⲓⲟⲛ ⲛⲁⲓ ⲉⲧⲉⲛⲥⲕⲏ ⲛⲁⲛ ⲁⲛ ⲉϩⲣⲁⲓ ⲧⲉⲛⲟⲩ ⲉⲧⲣⲉⲛⲧⲁⲩⲟⲟⲩ ⲟⲩⲁ ⲟⲩⲁ
6 Now these things having been thus prepared, the priests go in continually into the first tabernacle, performing their duties.
ⲋ̅ⲛⲁⲓ ⲇⲉ ⲉⲩⲧⲁⲙⲓⲏⲩ ⲛⲧⲉⲉⲓϩⲉ ϣⲁⲣⲉ ⲛⲟⲩⲏⲏⲃ ⲙⲉⲛ ⲃⲱⲕ ⲉϩⲟⲩⲛ ⲛⲟⲩⲟⲉⲓϣ ⲛⲓⲙ ⲉⲧϣⲟⲣⲡ ⲛⲥⲕⲏⲛⲏ ⲉⲩϫⲱⲕ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲛⲛϣⲙϣⲉ
7 But into the second the high priest alone, once in the year, not without blood, which he offers for himself, and for the sins of the people committed in ignorance.
ⲍ̅ⲡⲁⲣⲭⲓⲉⲣⲉⲩⲥ ⲇⲉ ⲙⲙⲁⲧⲉ ⲡⲉϣⲁϥⲃⲱⲕ ⲉϩⲟⲩⲛ ⲉⲧⲙⲉϩⲥⲛⲧⲉ ⲛⲟⲩⲥⲟⲡ ⲧⲉⲣⲟⲙⲡⲉ ⲛⲟⲩⲉϣ ⲛⲥⲛⲟϥ ⲁⲛ ⲡⲁⲓ ⲉϣⲁϥⲧⲁⲗⲟϥ ⲉϩⲣⲁⲓ ϩⲁⲣⲟϥ ⲁⲩⲱ ϩⲁⲙⲙⲛⲧⲁⲧⲥⲟⲟⲩⲛ ⲙⲡⲗⲁⲟⲥ
8 The Rukha d'Qudsha is indicating this, that the way into the Holy Place was not yet revealed while the first tabernacle was still standing;
ⲏ̅ⲉⲣⲉ ⲡⲉⲡⲛⲁ ⲉⲧⲟⲩⲁⲁⲃ ⲟⲩⲱⲛϩ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲙⲡⲁⲓ ϫⲉ ⲙⲡⲁⲧⲉ ⲧⲉϩⲓⲏ ⲛⲛⲉⲧⲟⲩⲁⲁⲃ ⲟⲩⲱⲛϩ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲉⲧⲉⲓ ⲟⲩⲛⲧⲉ ⲧϣⲟⲣⲡ ⲛⲥⲕⲏⲛⲏ ⲧⲁϫⲣⲟ
9 which is a symbol of the present age, where gifts and sacrifices are offered that are incapable, concerning the conscience, of making the worshipper perfect;
ⲑ̅ⲧⲁⲓ ⲉⲧⲟ ⲙⲡⲁⲣⲁⲃⲟⲗⲏ ⲙⲡⲉⲓⲟⲩⲟⲓϣ ⲧⲉⲛⲟⲩ ⲕⲁⲧⲁ ⲑⲉ ⲉⲧⲟⲩⲧⲁⲗⲟ ⲉϩⲣⲁⲓ ⲛϩⲉⲛⲇⲱⲣⲟⲛ ⲙⲛ ϩⲉⲛⲑⲩⲥⲓⲁ ⲉⲙⲛϭⲟⲙ ⲙⲙⲟⲟⲩ ⲕⲁⲧⲁ ⲥⲩⲛⲓⲇⲏⲥⲓⲥ ⲉϫⲱⲕ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲛⲛⲉⲧϣⲙϣⲉ
10 but deal only with foods and drinks and various washings; they are regulations for the flesh imposed until the time of setting things right.
ⲓ̅ⲙⲟⲛⲟⲛ ⲉϩⲣⲁⲓ ⲉϫⲛ ϩⲉⲛϭⲓ ⲛⲟⲩⲱⲙ ⲙⲛ ϩⲉⲛϭⲓ ⲛⲥⲱ ⲙⲛ ϩⲉⲛⲃⲁⲡⲧⲓⲥⲙⲁ ⲉⲩϣⲟⲃⲉ ⲛⲇⲓⲕⲁⲓⲱⲙⲁ ⲛⲧⲥⲁⲣⲝ ⲉⲩⲕⲏ ⲉϩⲣⲁⲓ ϣⲁ ⲡⲉⲩⲟⲉⲓϣ ⲛⲧⲁϩⲟⲟⲩ ⲉⲣⲁⲧⲟⲩ
11 But Meshikha having come as a high priest of the good things that have come, through the greater and more perfect tabernacle, not made with hands, that is to say, not of this creation,
ⲓ̅ⲁ̅ⲡⲉⲭⲥ ⲇⲉ ⲛⲧⲉⲣⲉϥⲉⲓ ⲡⲁⲣⲭⲓⲉⲣⲉⲩⲥ ⲛⲛⲁⲅⲁⲑⲟⲛ ⲉⲧⲛⲁϣⲱⲡⲉ ϩⲓⲧⲛ ⲧⲛⲟϭ ⲛⲥⲕⲏⲛⲏ ⲉⲧϫⲏⲕ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲙⲙⲟⲩⲛⲅ ⲛϭⲓϫ ⲁⲛ ⲉⲧⲉ ⲡⲁⲓ ⲡⲉ ⲛⲧⲁ ⲡⲉⲉⲓⲥⲱⲛⲧ ⲁⲛ
12 nor yet through the blood of goats and calves, but through his own blood, entered in once for all into the Holy Place, having obtained everlasting redemption. (aiōnios g166)
ⲓ̅ⲃ̅ⲟⲩⲇⲉ ϩⲓⲧⲛ ⲟⲩⲥⲛⲟϥ ⲁⲛ ⲛϭⲓⲉ ϩⲓⲙⲁⲥⲉ ϩⲓⲧⲙ ⲡⲉϥⲥⲛⲟϥ ⲇⲉ ⲙⲙⲓⲛ ⲙⲙⲟϥ ⲁϥⲃⲱⲕ ⲉϩⲟⲩⲛ ⲛⲟⲩⲥⲟⲡ ⲛⲟⲩⲱⲧ ⲉⲡⲡⲉⲧⲟⲩⲁⲁⲃ ⲉⲁϥϭⲓⲛⲉ ⲛⲟⲩⲥⲱⲧⲉ ⲛϣⲁ ⲉⲛⲉϩ (aiōnios g166)
13 For if the blood of goats and bulls, and the ashes of a heifer sprinkling those who have been defiled, sanctify to the cleanness of the flesh:
ⲓ̅ⲅ̅ⲉϣϫⲉ ⲡⲉⲥⲛⲟϥ ⲅⲁⲣ ⲛⲛϭⲓⲉ ⲙⲛ ⲛⲙⲁⲥⲉ ⲙⲛ ⲡⲕⲣⲙⲉⲥ ⲛⲛⲃⲁϩⲥⲉ ⲉⲩϣⲁⲛϭⲉϣϭϣ ⲛⲉⲧϫⲁϩⲙ ⲙⲙⲟⲟⲩ ϣⲁⲩⲧⲃⲃⲟ ⲛⲛⲁϩⲣⲙ ⲡⲧⲃⲃⲟ ⲛⲧⲥⲁⲣⲝ
14 how much more will the blood of Meshikha, who through the eternal Rukha offered himself without blemish to God, cleanse our conscience from dead works to serve the living God? (aiōnios g166)
ⲓ̅ⲇ̅ⲡⲟⲥⲱ ⲙⲁⲗⲗⲟⲛ ⲡⲉⲥⲛⲟϥ ⲙⲡⲉⲭⲥ ⲡⲁⲓ ϩⲓⲧⲛ ⲟⲩⲡⲛⲁ ⲉϥⲟⲩⲁⲁⲃ ⲉⲛⲧⲁϥⲧⲁⲗⲟϥ ⲉϩⲣⲁⲓ ⲙⲙⲓⲛ ⲙⲙⲟϥ ⲉϥⲟⲩⲁⲁⲃ ⲙⲡⲛⲟⲩⲧⲉ ϥⲛⲁⲧⲃⲃⲟ ⲛⲛⲉⲧⲛⲥⲩⲛⲓⲇⲏⲥⲓⲥ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲛ ⲛⲉϩⲃⲏⲩⲉ ⲉⲧⲙⲟⲟⲩⲧ ⲉⲧⲣⲉⲧⲉⲧⲛϣⲙϣⲉ ⲙⲡⲛⲟⲩⲧⲉ ⲉⲧⲟⲛϩ (aiōnios g166)
15 For this reason he is the mediator of a new covenant, since a death has occurred for the redemption of the transgressions that were under the first covenant, that those who have been called may receive the promise of the everlasting inheritance. (aiōnios g166)
ⲓ̅ⲉ̅ⲁⲩⲱ ⲉⲧⲃⲉ ⲡⲁⲓ ⲡⲙⲉⲥⲓⲧⲏⲥ ⲡⲉ ⲛⲧⲇⲓⲁⲑⲏⲕⲏ ⲛⲃⲣⲣⲉ ϫⲉⲕⲁⲥ ⲡⲙⲟⲩ ⲉϥϣⲁⲛϣⲱⲡⲉ ⲉⲡⲥⲱⲧⲉ ⲛⲙⲡⲁⲣⲁⲃⲁⲥⲓⲥ ⲉⲧϩⲛ ⲧⲇⲓⲁⲑⲏⲕⲏ ⲛϣⲟⲣⲡ ⲛⲧⲉ ⲛⲉⲧⲧⲁϩⲙ ϫⲓ ⲙⲡⲉⲣⲏⲧ ⲛⲧⲉ ⲕⲗⲏⲣⲟⲛⲟⲙⲓⲁ ϣⲁ ⲉⲛⲉϩ (aiōnios g166)
16 Now where there is a will, the death of the one who made it must be proven.
ⲓ̅ⲋ̅ϩⲟⲡⲟⲩ ⲅⲁⲣ ⲇⲓⲁⲑⲏⲕⲏ ⲁⲛⲁⲅⲕⲏ ⲉⲧⲣⲉ ⲡⲙⲟⲩ ⲉⲓ ⲙⲡⲉⲧⲕⲱ ⲙⲙⲟⲥ ⲉϩⲣⲁⲓ
17 For a will is in force where there has been death, for it is never in force while the one who made it lives.
ⲓ̅ⲍ̅ⲉϣⲁⲣⲉ ⲇⲓⲁⲑⲏⲕⲏ ⲅⲁⲣ ⲧⲁϫⲣⲟ ϩⲓ ⲛⲉⲧⲙⲟⲟⲩⲧ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϫⲉ ⲙⲉⲥϭⲙϭⲟⲙ ⲉϥⲟⲛϩ ⲛϭⲓ ⲡⲉⲧⲥⲙⲓⲛⲉ ⲙⲙⲟⲥ
18 Therefore even the first has not been dedicated without blood.
ⲓ̅ⲏ̅ⲉⲧⲃⲉ ⲡⲁⲓ ⲧⲕⲉϣⲟⲣⲡ ⲙⲡⲟⲩϫⲓ ⲡⲉⲥⲁⲉⲓⲕ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲛⲟⲩⲉϣ ⲛⲥⲛⲟϥ
19 For when every commandment had been spoken by Mushe to all the people according to the Law, he took the blood of the calves and the goats, with water and scarlet wool and hyssop, and sprinkled both the scroll itself and all the people,
ⲓ̅ⲑ̅ⲛⲧⲉⲣⲟⲩϫⲱ ⲅⲁⲣ ⲛⲉⲛⲧⲟⲗⲏ ⲛⲓⲙ ⲕⲁⲧⲁ ⲡⲛⲟⲙⲟⲥ ϩⲓⲧⲛ ⲙⲱⲩⲥⲏⲥ ⲙⲡⲗⲁⲟⲥ ⲧⲏⲣϥ ⲁϥϫⲓ ⲙⲡⲉⲥⲛⲟϥ ⲛⲙⲙⲁⲥⲉ ⲙⲛ ⲛϭⲓⲉ ⲙⲛ ⲟⲩⲙⲟⲟⲩ ⲙⲛ ⲟⲩⲥⲟⲣⲧ ⲛⲕⲟⲕⲕⲟⲥ ⲙⲛ ⲟⲩϩⲩⲥⲥⲱⲡⲟⲛ ⲛⲧⲟϥ ϩⲱⲱϥ ⲡϫⲱⲱⲙⲉ ⲙⲛ ⲡⲗⲁⲟⲥ ⲧⲏⲣϥ ⲁϥϭⲉϣϭⲱϣϥ
20 saying, "This is the blood of the covenant which God has commanded you."
ⲕ̅ⲉϥϫⲱ ⲙⲙⲟⲥ ϫⲉ ⲡⲁⲓ ⲡⲉ ⲡⲉⲥⲛⲟϥ ⲛⲧⲇⲓⲁⲑⲏⲕⲏ ⲉⲛⲧⲁ ⲡⲛⲟⲩⲧⲉ ϩⲱⲛ ⲙⲙⲟⲥ ϣⲁⲣⲱⲧⲛ
21 Moreover he sprinkled the tabernacle and all the vessels of the ministry in like manner with the blood.
ⲕ̅ⲁ̅ⲧⲉⲥⲕⲏⲛⲏ ⲇⲉ ⲙⲛ ⲛⲉⲥⲕⲉⲩⲏ ⲧⲏⲣⲟⲩ ⲙⲡϣⲙϣⲉ ⲁϥϭⲉϣϭⲱϣⲟⲩ ⲟⲛ ⲛⲧⲉⲉⲓϩⲉ ϩⲙ ⲡⲉⲥⲛⲟϥ
22 According to the Law, nearly everything is cleansed with blood, and apart from shedding of blood there is no forgiveness.
ⲕ̅ⲃ̅ⲁⲩⲱ ⲥⲭⲉⲇⲟⲛ ϩⲙ ⲡⲉⲥⲛⲟϥ ⲛⲕⲁ ⲛⲓⲙ ϣⲁⲩⲧⲃⲃⲟ ⲕⲁⲧⲁ ⲡⲛⲟⲙⲟⲥ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲁϫⲙ ⲡⲉϩⲧ ⲥⲛⲟϥ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲙⲉⲣⲉⲕⲱ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϣⲱⲡⲉ
23 It was necessary therefore that the copies of the things in the heavens should be cleansed with these; but the heavenly things themselves with better sacrifices than these.
ⲕ̅ⲅ̅ϩⲁⲡⲥ ϭⲉ ⲡⲉ ⲉⲧⲣⲉⲛⲉⲥⲙⲟⲧ ⲙⲉⲛ ⲛⲛⲉⲧϩⲛ ⲙⲡⲏⲩⲉ ⲧⲃⲃⲟ ϩⲛ ⲛⲁⲓ ⲛⲁⲙⲡⲏⲩⲉ ⲇⲉ ⲛⲧⲟⲟⲩ ϩⲛ ϩⲉⲛⲑⲩⲥⲓⲁ ⲉⲩⲥⲟⲧⲡ ⲡⲁⲣⲁ ⲛⲁⲓ
24 For Meshikha hasn't entered into holy places made with hands, which are representations of the true, but into heaven itself, now to appear in the presence of God for us;
ⲕ̅ⲇ̅ⲛⲧⲁ ⲡⲉⲭⲥ ⲅⲁⲣ ⲁⲛ ⲃⲱⲕ ⲉϩⲟⲩⲛ ⲉⲛⲉⲧⲟⲩⲁⲁⲃ ⲙⲙⲟⲩⲛⲅ ⲛϭⲓϫ ⲛⲥⲙⲟⲧ ⲛⲙⲙⲉ ⲁⲗⲗⲁ ⲉϩⲟⲩⲛ ⲉⲧⲡⲉ ϩⲱⲱⲥ ⲉⲧⲣⲉϥⲟⲩⲱⲛϩ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲧⲉⲛⲟⲩ ⲙⲡϩⲟ ⲙⲡⲛⲟⲩⲧⲉ ϩⲁⲣⲟⲛ
25 nor yet that he should offer himself often, as the high priest enters into the holy place year by year with blood not his own,
ⲕ̅ⲉ̅ⲁⲩⲱ ϫⲉⲕⲁⲥ ⲁⲛ ⲉϥⲉⲧⲁⲗⲟϥ ⲉϩⲣⲁⲓ ⲛϩⲁϩ ⲛⲥⲟⲡ ⲛⲑⲉ ⲙⲡⲁⲣⲭⲓⲉⲣⲉⲩⲥ ⲉϣⲁϥⲃⲱⲕ ⲉϩⲟⲩⲛ ⲉⲛⲉⲧⲟⲩⲁⲁⲃ ⲛⲛⲉⲧⲟⲩⲁⲁⲃ ⲧⲉⲣⲟⲙⲡⲉ ϩⲛ ⲟⲩⲥⲛⲟϥ ⲉⲙⲡⲱϥ ⲁⲛ ⲡⲉ
26 or else he must have suffered often since the foundation of the world. But now once at the end of the ages, he has been revealed to put away sin by the sacrifice of himself. (aiōn g165)
ⲕ̅ⲋ̅ⲉⲙⲙⲟⲛ ⲛⲉϣϣⲉ ⲉⲣⲟϥ ⲡⲉ ⲉⲙⲟⲩ ⲛϩⲁϩ ⲛⲥⲟⲡ ϫⲓⲛ ⲧⲕⲁⲧⲁⲃⲟⲗⲏ ⲙⲡⲕⲟⲥⲙⲟⲥ ⲧⲉⲛⲟⲩ ⲇⲉ ⲁϥⲟⲩⲱⲛϩ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲛⲟⲩⲥⲟⲡ ⲛⲟⲩⲱⲧ ϩⲛ ⲑⲁⲏ ⲛⲛⲉⲩⲟⲉⲓϣ ⲉⲟⲩⲱⲥϥ ⲙⲡⲛⲟⲃⲉ ϩⲓⲧⲛ ⲧⲉϥⲑⲩⲥⲓⲁ (aiōn g165)
27 Inasmuch as it is appointed for people to die once, and after this, judgment,
ⲕ̅ⲍ̅ⲁⲩⲱ ⲕⲁⲧⲁ ⲑⲉ ⲉⲧⲕⲏ ⲉϩⲣⲁⲓ ⲛⲛⲣⲱⲙⲉ ⲉⲙⲟⲩ ⲛⲟⲩⲥⲟⲡ ⲙⲛⲛⲥⲁ ⲡⲁⲓ ⲇⲉ ⲧⲉⲕⲣⲓⲥⲓⲥ
28 so Meshikha also, having been offered once to bear the sins of many, will appear a second time, without sin, to those who are eagerly waiting for him for salvation.
ⲕ̅ⲏ̅ⲧⲁⲓ ϩⲱⲱϥ ⲧⲉ ⲑⲉ ⲙⲡⲉⲭⲥ ⲉⲁϥⲧⲁⲗⲟϥ ⲉϩⲣⲁⲓ ⲛⲟⲩⲥⲟⲡ ⲉⲧⲁⲗⲟ ⲉϩⲣⲁⲓ ⲛⲛⲛⲟⲃⲉ ⲛⲟⲩⲙⲏⲏϣⲉ ⲡⲙⲉϩⲥⲉⲡ ⲥⲛⲁⲩ ⲇⲉ ⲭⲱⲣⲓⲥ ⲛⲟⲃⲉ ⲉϥⲛⲁⲟⲩⲱⲛϩ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲛⲛⲉⲧϭⲱϣⲧ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲏⲧϥ ⲉⲟⲩϫⲁⲓ
