< Hebrews 11 >

1 Now faith is being confident of what we hope for, convinced about things we do not see.
ⲁ̅ⲧⲡⲓⲥⲧⲓⲥ ⲇⲉ ⲡⲧⲁϫⲣⲟ ⲧⲉ ⲛⲛⲉⲧⲉⲛϩⲉⲗⲡⲓⲍⲉ ⲉⲣⲟⲟⲩ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲡⲟⲩⲱⲛϩ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲛⲛⲉϩⲃⲏⲩⲉ ⲉⲧⲉⲛⲧⲛⲛⲁⲩ ⲉⲣⲟⲟⲩ ⲁⲛ
2 For by this, the people of old were attested.
ⲃ̅ⲛⲧⲁⲩⲣⲙⲛⲧⲣⲉ ⲅⲁⲣ ϩⲁ ⲛⲉⲡⲣⲉⲥⲃⲩⲧⲉⲣⲟⲥ ϩⲛ ⲧⲁⲓ
3 By faith, we understand that the ages were prepared by the word of God, so that what is seen has not been made out of things which are visible. (aiōn g165)
ⲅ̅ϩⲛ ⲟⲩⲡⲓⲥⲧⲓⲥ ⲉⲛⲛⲟⲓ ϫⲉ ⲛⲧⲁⲩⲥⲟⲃⲧⲉ ⲛⲛⲁⲓⲱⲛ ϩⲙ ⲡϣⲁϫⲉ ⲙⲡⲛⲟⲩⲧⲉ ϫⲉ ⲡⲉⲧⲛⲛⲁⲩ ⲉⲣⲟϥ ⲛⲧⲁϥϣⲱⲡⲉ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲙ ⲡⲉⲧⲉⲛϥϣⲟⲟⲡ ⲁⲛ (aiōn g165)
4 By faith, Habeil offered to God a better sacrifice than Qayen, through which he was attested as righteous, God testifying with respect to his gifts; and though he died he still speaks through it.
ⲇ̅ϩⲛ ⲟⲩⲡⲓⲥⲧⲓⲥ ⲁⲁⲃⲉⲗ ⲧⲁⲗⲉϩⲟⲩⲉ ⲑⲩⲥⲓⲁ ⲉϩⲣⲁⲓ ⲡⲁⲣⲁ ⲕⲁⲉⲓⲛ ⲙⲡⲛⲟⲩⲧⲉ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲓ ⲧⲟⲟⲧⲥ ⲛⲧⲁⲩⲣⲙⲛⲧⲣⲉ ϩⲁⲣⲟϥ ϫⲉ ⲟⲩⲇⲓⲕⲁⲓⲟⲥ ⲡⲉ ⲉⲣⲉⲡⲛⲟⲩⲧⲉ ⲣⲙⲛⲧⲣⲉ ⲛⲁϥ ⲉϫⲛ ⲛⲉϥⲇⲱⲣⲟⲛ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲓ ⲧⲟⲟⲧⲥ ⲛⲧⲉⲣⲉϥⲙⲟⲩ ⲉⲧⲓ ⲟⲛ ϥϣⲁϫⲉ
5 By faith, Khenuk was taken away, so that he would not see death, "and he was not found, because God took him away." For before he was taken he was attested as having pleased God.
ⲉ̅ϩⲛ ⲟⲩⲡⲓⲥⲧⲓⲥ ⲉⲛⲱⲭ ⲁⲩⲡⲟⲟⲛⲉϥ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲉⲧⲙⲧⲣⲉϥⲛⲁⲩ ⲉⲡⲙⲟⲩ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲙⲡⲟⲩϩⲉ ⲉⲣⲟϥ ϫⲉ ⲁⲡⲛⲟⲩⲧⲉ ⲡⲟⲟⲛⲉϥ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲁⲑⲏ ⲅⲁⲣ ⲉⲙⲡⲁⲧⲟⲩⲡⲟⲟⲛⲉϥ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲁⲩⲣⲙⲛⲧⲣⲉ ϩⲁⲣⲟϥ ϫⲉ ⲁϥⲣⲁⲛⲁϥ ⲙⲡⲛⲟⲩⲧⲉ
6 Now without faith it is impossible to be well pleasing to him, for he who comes to God must believe that he exists, and that he is a rewarder of those who seek him.
ⲋ̅ⲁϫⲛ ⲡⲓⲥⲧⲓⲥ ⲇⲉ ⲟⲩⲁⲧϭⲟⲙ ⲡⲉ ⲉⲣⲁⲛⲁϥ ϣϣⲉ ⲅⲁⲣ ⲉⲡⲉⲧⲛⲁϯ ⲡⲉϥⲟⲩⲟⲓ ⲉⲡⲛⲟⲩⲧⲉ ⲉⲡⲓⲥⲧⲉⲩⲉ ϫⲉ ϥϣⲟⲟⲡ ⲁⲩⲱ ϫⲉ ϥⲛⲁϣⲱⲡⲉ ⲛⲧⲁⲓⲃⲉⲕⲉ ⲛⲛⲉⲧϣⲓⲛⲉ ⲛⲥⲱϥ
7 By faith, Nukh, being warned about things not yet seen, in reverence prepared a box-shaped ship for the salvation of his household, through which he condemned the world, and became heir of the righteousness which is according to faith.
ⲍ̅ϩⲛ ⲟⲩⲡⲓⲥⲧⲓⲥ ⲉⲁⲩⲧⲟⲩⲛⲟⲩⲉⲓⲁⲧϥ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲛⲛⲱϩⲉ ⲉⲧⲃⲉ ⲛⲉⲧϥⲛⲁⲩ ⲉⲣⲟⲟⲩ ⲁⲛ ⲛⲧⲉⲣⲉϥⲣ ϩⲟⲧⲉ ⲁϥⲧⲁⲙⲓⲟ ⲛⲟⲩϭⲓⲃⲱⲧⲟⲥ ⲉⲡⲉⲩϫⲁⲓ ⲙⲡⲉϥⲏⲓ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲓⲧⲟⲟⲧⲥ ⲁϥⲧϭⲁⲓⲉ ⲡⲕⲟⲥⲙⲟⲥ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲁϥϣⲱⲡⲉ ⲛⲕⲗⲏⲣⲟⲛⲟⲙⲟⲥ ⲛⲧⲇⲓⲕⲁⲓⲟⲥⲩⲛⲏ ⲕⲁⲧⲁ ⲧⲡⲓⲥⲧⲓⲥ
8 By faith, Avraham, when he was called, obeyed to go out to a place which he was to receive for an inheritance. He went out, not knowing where he was going.
ⲏ̅ϩⲛ ⲟⲩⲡⲓⲥⲧⲓⲥ ⲉⲁⲩⲙⲟⲩⲧⲉ ⲉⲁⲃⲣⲁϩⲁⲙ ⲁϥⲥⲱⲧⲙ ⲉⲉⲓ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲉⲡⲙⲁ ⲉⲧϥⲛⲁϫⲓⲧϥ ⲉⲩⲕⲗⲏ ⲣⲟⲛⲟⲙⲓⲁ ⲁϥⲉⲓ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲉⲛϥⲥⲟⲟⲩⲛ ⲁⲛ ϫⲉ ⲉϥⲙⲟⲟϣⲉ ⲉⲧⲱⲛ
9 By faith, he sojourned in a land of promise, as a foreigner, living in tents with Iskhaq and Yaquv, the heirs with him of the same promise.
ⲑ̅ϩⲛ ⲟⲩⲡⲓⲥⲧⲓⲥ ⲁϥⲟⲩⲱϩ ϩⲙ ⲡⲕⲁϩ ⲙⲡⲉⲣⲏⲧ ϩⲱⲥ ϣⲙⲙⲟ ⲉⲁϥⲟⲩⲱϩ ϩⲛ ϩⲉⲛϩⲃⲱ ⲙⲛ ⲓⲥⲁⲁⲕ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲓⲁⲕⲱⲃ ⲛϣⲃⲣⲕⲗⲏⲣⲟⲛⲟⲙⲟⲥ ⲙⲡⲓⲉⲣⲏⲧ ⲛⲟⲩⲱⲧ
10 For he looked for the city which has foundations, whose architect and builder is God.
ⲓ̅ⲛⲉϥϭⲱϣⲧ ⲅⲁⲣ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲏⲧⲥ ⲛⲧⲡⲟⲗⲓⲥ ⲉⲧⲉⲩⲛⲧⲥ ⲥⲛⲧⲉ ⲙⲙⲁⲩ ⲧⲁⲓ ⲉⲡⲉⲥⲧⲉⲭⲛⲓⲧⲏⲥ ⲙⲛ ⲡⲉⲥⲇⲏⲙⲓⲟⲩⲣⲅⲟⲥ ⲡⲉ ⲡⲛⲟⲩⲧⲉ
11 By faith, even barren Sarah herself received power to conceive when she was past age, and gave birth, since she considered him faithful who had promised.
ⲓ̅ⲁ̅ϩⲛ ⲟⲩⲡⲓⲥⲧⲓⲥ ϩⲱⲱⲥ ⲥⲁⲣⲣⲁ ⲧⲁϭⲣⲏⲛ ⲁⲥϫⲓ ⲛⲟⲩϭⲟⲙ ⲉⲩⲕⲁⲧⲁⲃⲟⲗⲏ ⲛⲥⲡⲉⲣⲙⲁ ⲡⲁⲣⲁ ⲡⲟⲩⲟⲉⲓϣ ⲛⲧⲉⲥϭⲟⲧ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϫⲉ ⲁⲥⲧⲁⲛϩⲉⲧ ⲡⲉⲛⲧⲁϥⲉⲣⲏⲧ
12 Therefore as many as the stars of the sky in multitude, and as innumerable as the sand which is by the sea shore, were fathered by one man, and him as good as dead.
ⲓ̅ⲃ̅ⲉⲧⲃⲉ ⲡⲁⲓ ⲉⲁⲩϫⲡⲟⲟⲩ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲛ ⲟⲩⲁ ⲉⲁ ⲡⲉϥⲥⲱⲙⲁ ⲣⲡⲕⲉⲕⲁϭⲟⲙ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲛⲑⲉ ⲛⲛⲥⲓⲟⲩ ⲛⲧⲡⲉ ϩⲛ ⲧⲉⲩⲁϣⲏ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲛⲑⲉ ⲙⲡϣⲟ ⲉⲧϩⲁⲧⲙ ⲡⲉⲥⲡⲟⲧⲟⲩ ⲛⲑⲁⲗⲁⲥⲥⲁ ⲉⲧⲉⲙⲛⲧϥ ⲏⲡⲉ
13 These all died in faith, not having received the promises, but having seen them and embraced them from afar, and having acknowledged that they were foreigners and temporary residents on the earth.
ⲓ̅ⲅ̅ⲕⲁⲧⲁ ⲧⲡⲓⲥⲧⲓⲥ ⲁⲩⲙⲟⲩ ⲛϭⲓ ⲛⲁⲓ ⲧⲏⲣⲟⲩ ⲙⲡⲟⲩϫⲓ ⲛⲛⲉⲣⲏⲧ ⲁⲗⲗⲁ ⲁⲩⲛⲁⲩ ⲉⲣⲟⲟⲩ ⲙⲡⲟⲩⲉ ⲁⲩⲁⲥⲡⲁⲍⲉ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲁⲩϩⲟⲙⲟⲗⲟⲅⲉⲓ ϫⲉ ⲁⲛϩⲉⲛϣⲙⲙⲟ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲁⲛϩⲉⲛⲣⲙⲛϭⲟⲓⲗⲉ ϩⲓϫⲙ ⲡⲕⲁϩ
14 For those who say such things make it clear that they are seeking a country of their own.
ⲓ̅ⲇ̅ⲛⲉⲧϫⲱ ⲅⲁⲣ ⲛⲛⲁⲓ ⲛⲧⲉⲉⲓϩⲉ ⲉⲩⲟⲩⲱⲛϩ ⲙⲙⲟⲟⲩ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϫⲉ ⲉⲩϣⲓⲛⲉ ⲛⲥⲁ ⲟⲩⲡⲟⲗⲓⲥ
15 If indeed they had been thinking of that country from which they went out, they would have had enough time to return.
ⲓ̅ⲉ̅ⲛⲛⲉⲩⲣⲡⲙⲉⲉⲩⲉ ⲇⲉ ⲛⲧⲉⲛⲧⲁⲩⲉⲓ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲛϩⲏⲧⲥ ⲛⲉⲁⲩⲣⲧⲉ ⲡⲉ ⲛⲕⲟⲧⲟⲩ ⲉⲣⲟⲥ
16 Instead, they were longing for a better country, that is, a heavenly one. Therefore God is not ashamed of them, to be called their God, for he has prepared a city for them.
ⲓ̅ⲋ̅ⲧⲉⲛⲟⲩ ⲇⲉ ⲉⲩⲟⲩⲉϣ ⲧⲉⲧⲥⲟⲧⲡ ⲉⲧⲉⲧⲁⲧⲡⲉ ⲧⲉ ⲉⲧⲃⲉ ⲡⲁⲓ ⲙⲡⲛⲟⲩⲧⲉ ϯϣⲓⲡⲉ ⲛⲁⲩ ⲁⲛ ⲉⲧⲣⲉⲩⲉⲡⲓⲕⲁⲗⲉⲓ ⲙⲙⲟϥ ⲛⲛⲟⲩⲧⲉ ⲉϫⲱⲟⲩ ⲁϥⲥⲟⲃⲧⲉ ⲅⲁⲣ ⲛⲁⲩ ⲛⲟⲩⲡⲟⲗⲓⲥ
17 By faith, Avraham, being tested, offered up Iskhaq; and he who had gladly received the promises was offering up his one and only son;
ⲓ̅ⲍ̅ϩⲛ ⲟⲩⲡⲓⲥⲧⲓⲥ ⲁⲃⲣⲁϩⲁⲙ ⲁϥⲧⲁⲗⲉ ⲓⲥⲁⲁⲕ ⲉϩⲣⲁⲓ ⲉⲩⲡⲉⲓⲣⲁⲍⲉ ⲙⲙⲟϥ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲁϥⲧⲁⲗⲉ ⲡⲉϥϣⲏⲣⲉ ⲛⲟⲩⲱⲧ ⲉϩⲣⲁⲓ ⲛϭⲓ ⲡⲉⲛⲧⲁϥϣⲱⲡ ⲉⲣⲟϥ ⲛⲛⲉⲣⲏⲧ
18 even he to whom it was said, "In Iskhaq will your descendants be called;"
ⲓ̅ⲏ̅ⲡⲁⲓ ⲉⲛⲧⲁⲩϣⲁϫⲉ ⲛⲙⲙⲁϥ ϫⲉ ϩⲛ ⲓⲥⲁⲁⲕ ⲉⲩⲛⲁⲙⲟⲩⲧⲉ ⲛⲁⲕ ⲉⲩⲥⲡⲉⲣⲙⲁ
19 concluding that God is able to raise up even from the dead. Figuratively speaking, he also did receive him back from the dead.
ⲓ̅ⲑ̅ⲉⲁϥⲙⲟⲕⲙⲉⲕ ϫⲉ ⲟⲩⲛϣϭⲟⲙ ⲙⲡⲛⲟⲩⲧⲉ ⲉⲧⲟⲩⲛⲟⲥϥ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲛ ⲛⲉⲧⲙⲟⲟⲩⲧ ⲉⲧⲃⲉ ⲡⲁⲓ ⲟⲛ ⲁϥϫⲓⲧϥ ϩⲛ ⲟⲩⲡⲁⲣⲁⲃⲟⲗⲏ
20 By faith, Iskhaq blessed Yaquv and Isuw, even concerning things to come.
ⲕ̅ϩⲛ ⲟⲩⲡⲓⲥⲧⲓⲥ ⲉⲧⲃⲉ ⲛⲉⲧⲛⲁϣⲱⲡⲉ ⲁⲓⲥⲁⲁⲕ ⲥⲙⲟⲩ ⲉⲓⲁⲕⲱⲃ ⲙⲛ ⲏⲥⲁⲩ
21 By faith, Yaquv, when he was dying, blessed each of the sons of Yauseph, and bowed over the top of his staff.
ⲕ̅ⲁ̅ϩⲛ ⲟⲩⲡⲓⲥⲧⲓⲥ ⲓⲁⲕⲱⲃ ⲉϥⲛⲁⲙⲟⲩ ⲁϥⲥⲙⲟⲩ ⲉⲡⲟⲩⲁ ⲡⲟⲩⲁ ⲛⲛϣⲏⲣⲉ ⲛⲓⲱⲥⲏⲫ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲁϥⲟⲩⲱϣⲧ ⲛϩⲧⲏϥ ⲙⲡⲉϥϭⲉⲣⲱⲃ
22 By faith, Yauseph, when his end was near, made mention of the departure of the people of Israyel; and gave instructions concerning his bones.
ⲕ̅ⲃ̅ϩⲛ ⲟⲩⲡⲓⲥⲧⲓⲥ ⲓⲱⲥⲏⲫ ⲉϥⲛⲁⲙⲟⲩ ⲁϥⲣⲡⲙⲉⲉⲩⲉ ⲉⲧⲃⲉ ⲡⲉⲓ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲛⲛϣⲏⲣⲉ ⲙⲡⲓⲥⲣⲁⲏⲗ ⲁⲩⲱ ⲁϥϩⲱⲛ ⲉⲧⲃⲉ ⲛⲉϥⲕⲉⲉⲥ
23 By faith, Mushe, when he was born, was hidden for three months by his parents, because they saw that he was a beautiful child, and they were not afraid of the king's commandment.
ⲕ̅ⲅ̅ϩⲛ ⲟⲩⲡⲓⲥⲧⲓⲥ ⲛⲧⲉⲣⲟⲩϫⲡⲟ ⲙⲙⲱⲩⲥⲏⲥ ⲁⲩϩⲟⲡϥ ⲛϣⲟⲙⲛⲧ ⲛⲉⲃⲟⲧ ϩⲓⲧⲛ ⲛⲉϥⲉⲓⲟⲧⲉ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϫⲉ ⲁⲩⲛⲁⲩ ⲉⲡϣⲏⲣⲉ ϣⲏⲙ ⲉⲛⲉⲥⲱϥ ⲙⲡⲟⲩⲣ ϩⲟⲧⲉ ϩⲏⲧϥ ⲙⲡⲇⲓⲁⲧⲁⲅⲙⲁ ⲙⲡⲣⲣⲟ
24 By faith, Mushe, when he had grown up, refused to be called the son of Pharaoh's daughter,
ⲕ̅ⲇ̅ϩⲛ ⲟⲩⲡⲓⲥⲧⲓⲥ ⲛⲧⲉⲣⲉⲙⲱⲩⲥⲏⲥ ⲣⲛⲟϭ ⲙⲡϥⲟⲩⲱϣ ⲉⲧⲣⲉⲩⲙⲟⲩⲧⲉ ⲉⲣⲟϥ ϫⲉ ⲡϣⲏⲣⲉ ⲛⲧϣⲉⲉⲣⲉ ⲙⲫⲁⲣⲁⲱ
25 choosing rather to share ill treatment with God's people, than to enjoy the pleasures of sin for a time;
ⲕ̅ⲉ̅ⲉⲁϥⲥⲱⲧⲡ ⲛⲁϥ ⲛϩⲟⲩⲟ ⲉϣⲡϩⲓⲥⲉ ⲙⲛ ⲡⲗⲁⲟⲥ ⲙⲡⲛⲟⲩⲧⲉ ⲉϩⲟⲩⲉϫⲓ ⲛⲧⲁⲡⲟⲗⲁⲩⲥⲓⲥ ⲙⲡⲛⲟⲃⲉ ⲡⲣⲟⲥⲟⲩⲟⲩⲟⲉⲓϣ
26 considering the abuse suffered for the Meshikha greater riches than the treasures of Egypt; for he looked to the reward.
ⲕ̅ⲋ̅ⲉⲁϥⲉⲡ ⲡⲛⲟϭⲛⲉϭ ⲙⲡⲉⲭⲥ ϫⲉ ⲟⲩϩⲟⲩⲉ ⲙⲛⲧⲣⲙⲙⲁⲟ ⲡⲉ ⲉϩⲟⲩⲉⲛⲁϩⲱⲱⲣ ⲛⲕⲏ ⲙⲉ ⲛⲉϥϭⲱϣⲧ ⲅⲁⲣ ⲡⲉ ⲉⲡⲧⲟⲩⲉⲓⲟ ⲛⲁϥ ⲙⲡⲉϥⲃⲉⲕⲉ
27 By faith, he left Egypt, not fearing the wrath of the king; for he endured, as seeing him who is invisible.
ⲕ̅ⲍ̅ϩⲛ ⲟⲩⲡⲓⲥⲧⲓⲥ ⲙⲱⲩⲥⲏⲥ ⲁϥⲕⲁ ⲕⲏⲙⲉ ⲛⲥⲱϥ ⲙⲡϥⲣ ϩⲟⲧⲉ ϩⲏⲧϥ ⲙⲡϭⲱⲛⲧ ⲙⲡⲣⲣⲟ ⲡⲉⲧⲉⲙⲉⲩⲛⲁⲩ ⲅⲁⲣ ⲉⲣⲟϥ ⲛⲉϥϭⲉⲉⲧ ⲉⲣⲟϥ ⲡⲉ ϩⲱⲥ ⲉϥⲛⲁⲩ ⲉⲣⲟϥ
28 By faith, he kept the Passover, and the sprinkling of the blood, that the destroyer of the firstborn should not touch them.
ⲕ̅ⲏ̅ϩⲛ ⲟⲩⲡⲓⲥⲧⲓⲥ ⲁϥⲣⲡⲡⲁⲥⲭⲁ ⲙⲛ ⲡⲡⲱⲛ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲙⲡⲉⲥⲛⲟϥ ϫⲉ ⲛⲛⲉ ⲡⲉⲧⲧⲁⲕⲟ ⲛⲛϣⲣⲡⲙⲙⲓⲥⲉ ϫⲱϩ ⲉⲣⲟⲟⲩ
29 By faith, they passed through the Red Sea as on dry land. When the Egyptians tried to do so, they were swallowed up.
ⲕ̅ⲑ̅ϩⲛ ⲟⲩⲡⲓⲥⲧⲓⲥ ⲁⲩϫⲓⲟⲟⲣ ⲛⲧⲉⲣⲩⲑⲣⲁ ⲑⲁⲗⲁⲥⲥⲁ ⲛⲑⲉ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ϩⲓⲧⲛ ⲟⲩⲕⲁϩ ⲉϥϣⲟⲩⲱⲟⲩ ⲧⲁⲓ ⲉⲛⲧⲁⲩϫⲟⲛⲧⲟⲩ ⲙⲙⲟⲥ ⲛϭⲓ ⲛⲣⲙⲛⲕⲏⲙⲉ ⲁⲩⲱⲙⲥ
30 By faith, the walls of Irikhu fell down, after they had been encircled for seven days.
ⲗ̅ϩⲛ ⲟⲩⲡⲓⲥⲧⲓⲥ ⲛⲥⲟⲃⲧ ⲛϩⲓⲉⲣⲓⲭⲱ ⲁⲩϩⲉ ⲛⲧⲉⲣⲟⲩⲕⲱⲧⲉ ⲉⲣⲟⲟⲩ ⲛⲥⲁϣϥ ⲛϩⲟⲟⲩ
31 By faith, Rakhav the prostitute did not perish with those who were disobedient, having received the spies in peace.
ⲗ̅ⲁ̅ϩⲛ ⲟⲩⲡⲓⲥⲧⲓⲥ ϩⲣⲁⲁⲃ ⲧⲡⲟⲣⲛⲏ ⲙⲡⲥϩⲉ ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲙⲛ ⲛⲉⲛⲧⲁⲩⲣⲁⲧⲛⲁϩⲧⲉ ⲉⲁⲥϣⲱⲡ ⲉⲣⲟⲥ ⲛⲛϫⲱⲣ ϩⲛ ⲟⲩⲉⲓⲣⲏⲛⲏ
32 What more shall I say? For the time would fail me if I told of Gedeun, Baraq, Shemshun, Naphtakh, Dawid, Shemuyel, and the prophets;
ⲗ̅ⲃ̅ⲉⲓⲛⲁϫⲉⲟⲩ ⲟⲛ ⲡⲉⲟⲩⲟⲉⲓϣ ⲅⲁⲣ ⲛⲁⲕⲁⲁⲧ ⲉⲉⲓϣⲁϫⲉ ⲉⲧⲃⲉ ⲅⲉⲇⲉⲱⲛ ⲃⲁⲣⲁⲕ ⲥⲁⲙⲯⲱⲛ ⲓⲉⲫⲑⲁⲉ ⲇⲁⲩⲉⲓⲇ ⲙⲛ ⲥⲁⲙⲟⲩⲏⲗ ⲙⲛ ⲡⲕⲉⲥⲉⲉⲡⲉ ⲙⲡⲣⲟⲫⲏⲧⲏⲥ
33 who, through faith subdued kingdoms, worked out righteousness, obtained promises, stopped the mouths of lions,
ⲗ̅ⲅ̅ⲛⲁⲓ ⲉⲛⲧⲁⲩϫⲣⲟ ⲉⲛⲓⲙⲛⲧⲉⲣⲱⲟⲩ ϩⲓⲧⲛ ⲧⲡⲓⲥⲧⲓⲥ ⲁⲩⲣϩⲱⲃ ⲉⲧⲇⲓⲕⲁⲓⲟⲥⲩⲛⲏ ⲁⲩⲙⲁⲧⲉ ⲛⲛⲉⲣⲏⲧ ⲁⲩⲧⲱⲙ ⲛⲧⲧⲁⲡⲣⲟ ⲛⲙⲙⲟⲩⲓ
34 quenched the power of fire, escaped the edge of the sword, from weakness were made strong, grew mighty in war, and caused foreign armies to flee.

35 Women received their dead by resurrection. And others were tortured, not accepting the payment for release, that they might obtain a better resurrection.
ⲗ̅ⲉ̅ⲁϩⲉⲛⲥϩⲓⲙⲉ ϫⲓ ⲛⲛⲉⲩⲣⲉϥⲙⲟⲟⲩⲧ ⲁⲩⲧⲟⲩⲛⲟⲥⲟⲩ ⲛⲁⲩ ϩⲉⲛⲕⲟⲟⲩⲉ ⲇⲉ ⲁⲩϩⲁⲧⲟⲩ ⲙⲡⲟⲩϣⲱⲡ ⲉⲣⲟⲟⲩ ⲙⲡⲥⲱⲧⲉ ⲙⲡⲉⲩⲥⲱⲙⲁ ϫⲉ ⲉⲩⲉϫⲓ ⲛⲧⲁⲛⲁⲥⲧⲁⲥⲓⲥ ⲉⲧⲥⲟⲧⲡ
