Ephesians 2
1 You were made alive when you were dead in your transgressions and sins,
さてあなたがたは、先には自分の罪過と罪とによって死んでいた者であって、
2 in which you once walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit who now works in the children of disobedience; (aiōn g165)
かつてはそれらの中で、この世のならわしに従い、空中の権をもつ君、すなわち、不従順の子らの中に今も働いている霊に従って、歩いていたのである。 (aiōn g165)
3 among whom we also all once lived in the lust of our flesh, doing the desires of the flesh and of the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, even as the rest.
また、わたしたちもみな、かつては彼らの中にいて、肉の欲に従って日を過ごし、肉とその思いとの欲するままを行い、ほかの人々と同じく、生れながらの怒りの子であった。
4 But God, being rich in mercy, for his great love with which he loved us,
しかるに、あわれみに富む神は、わたしたちを愛して下さったその大きな愛をもって、
5 even when we were dead through our trespasses, made us alive together with Meshikha (by grace you have been saved),
罪過によって死んでいたわたしたちを、キリストと共に生かしあなたがたの救われたのは、恵みによるのである
6 and raised us up with him, and made us to sit with him in the heavenly places in Meshikha Yeshua,
キリスト・イエスにあって、共によみがえらせ、共に天上で座につかせて下さったのである。
7 that in the ages to come he might show the exceeding riches of his grace in kindness toward us in Meshikha Yeshua; (aiōn g165)
それは、キリスト・イエスにあってわたしたちに賜わった慈愛による神の恵みの絶大な富を、きたるべき世々に示すためであった。 (aiōn g165)
8 for by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God,
あなたがたの救われたのは、実に、恵みにより、信仰によるのである。それは、あなたがた自身から出たものではなく、神の賜物である。
9 not of works, that no one would boast.
決して行いによるのではない。それは、だれも誇ることがないためなのである。
10 For we are his workmanship, created in Meshikha Yeshua for good works, which God prepared before that we would walk in them.
わたしたちは神の作品であって、良い行いをするように、キリスト・イエスにあって造られたのである。神は、わたしたちが、良い行いをして日を過ごすようにと、あらかじめ備えて下さったのである。
11 Therefore remember that once you, the non-Jews in the flesh, who are called "uncircumcision" by that which is called "circumcision," (in the flesh, made by hands);
だから、記憶しておきなさい。あなたがたは以前には、肉によれば異邦人であって、手で行った肉の割礼ある者と称せられる人々からは、無割礼の者と呼ばれており、
12 that you were at that time separate from Meshikha, alienated from the commonwealth of Israyel, and foreigners to the covenants of the promise, having no hope and without God in the world.
またその当時は、キリストを知らず、イスラエルの国籍がなく、約束されたいろいろの契約に縁がなく、この世の中で希望もなく神もない者であった。
13 But now in Meshikha Yeshua you who once were far away have been brought near by the blood of Meshikha.
ところが、あなたがたは、このように以前は遠く離れていたが、今ではキリスト・イエスにあって、キリストの血によって近いものとなったのである。
14 For he is our peace, who made both one, and broke down the middle wall of partition,
キリストはわたしたちの平和であって、二つのものを一つにし、敵意という隔ての中垣を取り除き、ご自分の肉によって、
15 having abolished in the flesh the hostility, the law of commandments contained in ordinances, that he might create in himself one new man of the two, making peace;
数々の規定から成っている戒めの律法を廃棄したのである。それは、彼にあって、二つのものをひとりの新しい人に造りかえて平和をきたらせ、
16 and might reconcile them both in one body to God through the cross, by which he put to death their enmity.
十字架によって、二つのものを一つのからだとして神と和解させ、敵意を十字架にかけて滅ぼしてしまったのである。
17 He came and preached peace to you who were far off and peace to those who were near.
それから彼は、こられた上で、遠く離れているあなたがたに平和を宣べ伝え、また近くにいる者たちにも平和を宣べ伝えられたのである。
18 For through him we both have our access in one Rukha to the Father.
というのは、彼によって、わたしたち両方の者が一つの御霊の中にあって、父のみもとに近づくことができるからである。
19 So then you are no longer foreigners and noncitizens, but you are fellow citizens with the saints, and of the household of God,
そこであなたがたは、もはや異国人でも宿り人でもなく、聖徒たちと同じ国籍の者であり、神の家族なのである。
20 being built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Meshikha Yeshua himself being the chief cornerstone;
またあなたがたは、使徒たちや預言者たちという土台の上に建てられたものであって、キリスト・イエスご自身が隅のかしら石である。
21 in whom the whole building, fitted together, grows into a holy temple in the Lord;
このキリストにあって、建物全体が組み合わされ、主にある聖なる宮に成長し、
22 in whom you also are built together for a habitation of God in the Rukha.
そしてあなたがたも、主にあって共に建てられて、霊なる神のすまいとなるのである。
