2 Thessalonians 2
1 Now, brothers, concerning the coming of our Lord Yeshua Meshikha, and our gathering together to him, we ask you
さて兄弟たちよ。わたしたちの主イエス・キリストの来臨と、わたしたちがみもとに集められることとについて、あなたがたにお願いすることがある。
2 not to be quickly shaken in your mind, nor yet be troubled, either by spirit, or by word, or by letter as from us, saying that the day of the Lord had come.
霊により、あるいは言葉により、あるいはわたしたちから出たという手紙によって、主の日はすでにきたとふれまわる者があっても、すぐさま心を動かされたり、あわてたりしてはいけない。
3 Let no one deceive you in any way. For it will not be, unless the rebellion comes first, and the man of lawlessness is revealed, the son of destruction,
だれがどんな事をしても、それにだまされてはならない。まず背教のことが起り、不法の者、すなわち、滅びの子が現れるにちがいない。
4 he who opposes and exalts himself against all that is called God or that is worshiped; so that he sits in the temple of God, setting himself up as God.
彼は、すべて神と呼ばれたり拝まれたりするものに反抗して立ち上がり、自ら神の宮に座して、自分は神だと宣言する。
5 Do you not remember that, when I was still with you, I told you these things?
わたしがまだあなたがたの所にいた時、これらの事をくり返して言ったのを思い出さないのか。
6 Now you know what is restraining him, to the end that he may be revealed in his own season.
そして、あなたがたが知っているとおり、彼が自分に定められた時になってから現れるように、いま彼を阻止しているものがある。
7 For the mystery of lawlessness already works. Only there is one who restrains now, until he is taken out of the way.
不法の秘密の力が、すでに働いているのである。ただそれは、いま阻止している者が取り除かれる時までのことである。
8 Then the lawless one will be revealed, whom the Lord will kill with the breath of his mouth, and destroy by the manifestation of his coming;
その時になると、不法の者が現れる。この者を、主イエスは口の息をもって殺し、来臨の輝きによって滅ぼすであろう。
9 even he whose coming is according to the working of Satana with all power and signs and lying wonders,
不法の者が来るのは、サタンの働きによるのであって、あらゆる偽りの力と、しるしと、不思議と、
10 and with all deception of wickedness for those who are perishing, because they did not receive the love of the truth, that they might be saved.
また、あらゆる不義の惑わしとを、滅ぶべき者どもに対して行うためである。彼らが滅びるのは、自分らの救となるべき真理に対する愛を受けいれなかった報いである。
11 And because of this, God sends them a strong delusion, that they should believe the lie,
そこで神は、彼らが偽りを信じるように、迷わす力を送り、
12 in order that all might be judged who did not believe the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.
こうして、真理を信じないで不義を喜んでいたすべての人を、さばくのである。
13 But we are bound to always give thanks to God for you, brothers loved by the Lord, because God chose you from the beginning for salvation through sanctification of the Rukha and belief in the truth;
しかし、主に愛されている兄弟たちよ。わたしたちはいつもあなたがたのことを、神に感謝せずにはおられない。それは、神があなたがたを初めから選んで、御霊によるきよめと、真理に対する信仰とによって、救を得させようとし、
14 to which he called you through our Good News, for the obtaining of the glory of our Lord Yeshua Meshikha.
そのために、わたしたちの福音によりあなたがたを召して、わたしたちの主イエス・キリストの栄光にあずからせて下さるからである。
15 So then, brothers, stand firm, and hold the traditions which you were taught by us, whether by word, or by letter.
そこで、兄弟たちよ。堅く立って、わたしたちの言葉や手紙で教えられた言伝えを、しっかりと守り続けなさい。
16 Now our Lord Yeshua Meshikha himself, and God our Father, who loved us and gave us everlasting comfort and good hope through grace, (aiōnios g166)
どうか、わたしたちの主イエス・キリストご自身と、わたしたちを愛し、恵みをもって永遠の慰めと確かな望みとを賜わるわたしたちの父なる神とが、 (aiōnios g166)
17 comfort your hearts and establish you in every good work and word.
あなたがたの心を励まし、あなたがたを強めて、すべての良いわざを行い、正しい言葉を語る者として下さるように。
