< 2 Samuel 2 >

1 It happened after this, that David inquired of the LORD, saying, "Shall I go up into any of the cities of Judah?" The LORD said to him, "Go up." David said, "Where shall I go up?" He said, "To Hebron."
Kalpasan daytoy, nagsalusod ni David kenni Yahweh ket kinunana, “Rumbeng kadi a sumang-atak iti maysa kadagiti siudad ti Juda?” Simmungbat ni Yahweh kenkuana, “Sumang-atka.” Kinuna ni David, “Ania a siudad ti rumbeng a papanak?” Simmungbat ni Yahweh, “Idiay Hebron.”
2 So David went up there, and his two wives also, Ahinoam the Jezreelite and Abigail the wife of Nabal the Carmelite,
Simmang-at ngarud ni David a kaduana dagiti dua nga assawana, ni Ahinoam manipud iti Jezreel ken ni Abigail a balo ni Nabal manipud iti Carmel.
3 and the men who were with him, everyone with his household. And they lived in Hebron.
Inkuyog pay ni David dagiti lallaki a kakaduana, agraman dagiti pamiliada, kadagiti siudad ti Hebron, a nangrugianda a nagnaedan.
4 The men of Judah came, and there they anointed David king over the house of Judah. They told David, saying, "It was the people of Jabesh Gilead who buried Saul."
Kalpasanna, simmangpet dagiti tattao manipud iti Juda ket pinulotanda ni David a kas ari iti entero a balay ti Juda. Imbagada kenni David nga, “Intabon dagiti tattao iti Jabes Galaad ni Saul.”
5 David sent messengers to the men of Jabesh Gilead, and said to them, "Blessed are you by the LORD, because you have shown this kindness to your lord, Saul, and have buried him.
Isu a nangibaon ni David kadagiti mensahero a mapan kadagiti lallaki iti Jabes Galaad ket imbagada kadakuada, “Bendissionankayo ni Yahweh, gapu ta impakitayo daytoy a kinapudnoyo iti apoyo a ni Saul ken intabonyo isuna.
6 Now may the LORD show loving kindness and truth to you. I also will reward you for this kindness, because you have done this thing.
Ita ipakita koma ni Yahweh kadakayo ti kinapudnona iti tulagna ken ti kinaimbagna kadakayo. Ipakitak met kadakayo daytoy a kinaimabag gapu ta inaramidyo daytoy a banag.
7 Now therefore let your hands be strong, and be valiant; for Saul your lord is dead, and also the house of Judah has anointed me king over them."
Ket ita, papigsaenyo koma dagiti im-imayo; ken tumuredkayo ta natayen ti apoyo a ni Saul, ken pinulotannak ti balay ti Juda a kas arida.”
8 Now Abner the son of Ner, commander of Saul's army, had taken Ishbaal the son of Saul, and brought him over to Mahanaim;
Ngem ni Abner a putot ni Ner, a pangulo ti armada ni Saul ket innalana ni Isboset a putot ni Saul ken impanna idiay Mahanaim;
9 and he made him king over Gilead, and over the Geshurites, and over Jezreel, and over Ephraim, and over Benjamin, and over all Israel.
insaadna ni Isboset nga ari iti Galaad, iti Aser, iti Jezreel, iti Efraim, iti Benjamin, ken iti entero nga Israel.
10 Ishbaal, Saul's son, was forty years old when he began to reign over Israel, and he reigned two years. But the house of Judah followed David.
Ni Isboset a putot ni Saul, ket uppat a pulo ti tawenna idi rinugianna ti agari iti entero nga Israel, ken dua a tawen a nagturay isuna. Ngem simmurot kenni David ti balay ti Juda.
11 The time that David was king in Hebron over the house of Judah was seven years and six months.
Nagari ni David idiay Hebron iti entero a balay ti Juda iti pito a tawen ken innem a bulan.
12 Abner the son of Ner, and the servants of Ishbaal the son of Saul, went out from Mahanaim to Gibeon.
Ni Abner a putot ni Ner ken dagiti adipen ni Isboset a putot ni Saul ket rimmuar manipud Mahanaim a nagturong idiay Gabaon.
13 Joab the son of Zeruiah, and the servants of David, went out, and met them by the pool of Gibeon; and they sat down, the one on the one side of the pool, and the other on the other side of the pool.
Rimmuar ni Joab a putot ni Zeruyas ken dagiti adipen ni David ket nagsasarakda iti abay iti pagurnongan ti danum idiay Gabaon. Nagtutugawda sadiay, maysa a bunggoy iti maysa a bangir iti pagurnongan ti danum ken maysa a bunggoy iti bangirna.
14 Abner said to Joab, "Let the young men now arise and compete before us." Joab said, "Let them arise."
Kinuna ni Abner kenni Joab, “Patakderenta dagiti agtutubo ket pagrangetenta ida iti sangoanantayo.” Ket kinuna ni Joab, “Patakderenta ida.”
15 Then they arose and went over by number: twelve of the sons of Benjamin of Ishbaal the son of Saul, and twelve of the servants of David.
Ket, timmakder dagiti agtutubo ken naguummongda, sangapulo ket dua para iti Benjamin ken Isboset a putot ni Saul, ken sangapulo ket dua manipud kadagiti adipen ni David.
16 They each caught his opponent by the head, and thrust his sword in his fellow's side; so they fell down together. Therefore that place was called Field of Blades, which is in Gibeon.
Nagiinniggem ti tunggal maysa iti ulo ti karangetna sada induyok ti kampilanda iti bakrang ti karangetda, ket napasagda amin. Naawagan ngarud dayta a lugar iti Hebrew a, “Helcat Assurim,” wenno “Tay-ak dagiti Kampilan” nga adda idiay Gabaon.
17 The battle was very severe that day, and Abner and the men of Israel were defeated before the servants of David.
Nakaro unay ti gubat iti dayta nga aldaw, naparmek da Abner ken dagiti lallaki iti Israel iti sangoanan dagiti adipen ni David.
18 The three sons of Zeruiah were there, Joab, and Abishai, and Asahel. And Asahel was as quick on his feet as a wild gazelle.
Adda sadiay dagiti tallo a putot ni Zeruyas: Ni Joab, Abisai ken Asael. Napardas nga agtaray ni Asael a kas iti atap nga ugsa.
19 Asahel pursued after Abner, and as he went he did not turn to the right hand nor to the left from following Abner.
Kinamat ni Asael ni Abner ket saanna a sininsinaan.
20 Then Abner looked behind him, and said, "Is it you, Asahel?" He answered, "It is I."
Timmaliaw ni Abner iti likodanna ket kinunana, “Sika kadi dayta Asael?” Simmungbat isuna, “Siak daytoy.”
21 Abner said to him, "Turn aside to your right hand or to your left, and grab one of the young men, and take his armor." But Asahel would not stop from pursuing him.
Kinuna ni Abner kenkuana, “Agpakannawan wenno agpakannigidka, ket tiliwem ti maysa kadagiti agtutubo ket alaem ti igamna.” Ngem saan a simmiasi ni Asael.
22 Abner said again to Asahel, "Stop pursuing me. Why should I strike you to the ground? How then should I hold up my face to Joab your brother?"
Isu a kinuna manen ni Abner kenni Asael, “Sardengannakon a kamkamaten. Apay koma a patayenka? Kasanokto nga iparang ti rupak kenni Joab, a kabsatmo?”
23 But he refused to stop. Therefore Abner with the back end of the spear struck him in the body, so that the spear came out behind him; and he fell down there, and died in the same place. And it came about that all who came to the place where Asahel had fallen and died, stopped there.
Ngem saan a simminsina ni Asael, isu a dinuyok ni Abner ti bagi ni Asael babaen iti murdong ti putan ti gayangna, isu a simmalput ti gayang iti bangir a paset ti bagina. Napasag ni Asael ket natay sadiay. Isu a napasamak a nagsardeng ken nagtakder ti siasianoman a nakadanon iti disso a nakapasagan ken nakatayan ni Asael.
24 But Joab and Abishai pursued after Abner: and the sun went down when they had come to the hill of Ammah, that lies before Giah by the way of the wilderness of Gibeon.
Ngem kinamat da Joab ken Abisai ni Abner. Idi lumlumneken ti init, dimmanundan iti turod ti Amma, nga adda iti asideg ti Gia nga igid ti dalan nga agturong iti let-ang idiay Gabaon.
25 The sons of Benjamin gathered themselves together after Abner, and formed a single group, and stood on the top of a hill.
Naguummong dagiti lallaki ti Benjamin iti likodan ni Abner ket nagtakderda iti tapaw ti turod.
26 Then Abner called to Joab, and said, "Shall the sword devour forever? Do you not know that it will be bitterness in the latter end? How long shall it be then, before you ask the people to stop pursuing their brothers?"
Pinukkawan ni Abner ni Joab ket kinunana, “Agnanayon kadi a mangalun-on ti kampilan? Saanmo kadi nga ammo a nasasaemto iti kamaudiananna? Kasano kadi ti kabayagna daytoy sakbay nga ibagam kadagiti tattaom nga isardengda ti panangkamatda kadagiti kakabsatda?”
27 Joab said, "As the LORD lives, if you had not spoken, surely the people would not have given up the pursuit of their brothers until the morning."
Simmungbat ni Joab, “Iti nagan ti Dios nga adda iti agnanayon, no saanmo nga imbaga dayta, kamaten koma dagiti soldadok dagiti kakabsatda agingga iti agsapa!”
28 So Joab blew the trumpet; and all the people stopped, and no longer chased after Israel, and they no longer fought.
Isu a pinuyotan ni Joab ti trumpeta, ket nagsardeng amin dagiti tattaona ket saandan a kinamat ti Israel, wenno saadan a kinaranget.
29 Abner and his men went all that night through the Arabah; and they passed over the Jordan, and marched the whole morning, and came to Mahanaim.
Nagdaliasat ni Abner ken dagiti tattaona iti dayta a nagpatnag iti Araba. Binallasiwda ti Karayan Jordan, nagnagnada iti sumaruno a bigat ket kalpasanna nakadanunda idiay Mahanaim.
30 Joab returned from pursuing Abner. And when he had gathered all the people together, there were missing from David's servants nineteen men and Asahel.
Nagsubli da Joab manipud iti panangkamatda kenni Abner. Inummongna dagiti amin a tattaona, a nakatakkuatanna a mapukpukaw ni Asael ken sangapulo ket siam a soldado ni David.
31 But the servants of David had struck of the people of Benjamin, from the men of Abner, three hundred and sixty men who died.
Ngem nakapatay dagiti tattao ni David iti 360 a tattao ti Benjamin a kadua ni Abner.
32 They took up Asahel, and buried him in the tomb of his father, which was in Bethlehem. Joab and his men went all night, and the day broke on them at Hebron.
Ket innalada ni Asael ken intabonda isuna idiay tanem ti amana, nga adda idiay Betlehem. Nagpatpatnag a nagdaliasat da Joab ken dagiti tattaona, ket nalawagandan idiay Hebron.
