2 Kings 16

1 In the seventeenth year of Pekah the son of Remaliah Ahaz the son of Jotham king of Judah began to reign.

ரெமலியாவின் மகன் பெக்காவின் ஆட்சியின் பதினேழாம் வருடத்தில், யூதாவின் அரசனான யோதாமின் மகன் ஆகாஸ் அரசாளத் தொடங்கினான்.

2 Twenty years old was Ahaz when he began to reign; and he reigned sixteen years in Jerusalem: and he did not do that which was right in the eyes of the LORD his God, like David his father.

ஆகாஸ் அரசனானபோது இருபது வயதுள்ளவனாயிருந்தான். இவன் எருசலேமில் பதினாறு வருடங்கள் அரசாண்டான். தன் முற்பிதாவான தாவீதைப்போல் அவன் தனது இறைவனாகிய யெகோவாவின் பார்வையில் சரியானதைச் செய்யவில்லை.

3 But he walked in the way of the kings of Israel, yes, and made his son to pass through the fire, according to the abominations of the nations, whom the LORD cast out from before the children of Israel.

அவன் இஸ்ரயேல் அரசர்களின் வழிகளில் நடந்தான். இவன் இஸ்ரயேலருக்கு முன்பாக யெகோவா துரத்திவிட்ட நாடுகளின் அருவருப்பான வழிகளைப் பின்பற்றி, தனது மகனையும் நெருப்பிலே பலியிட்டான்.

4 He sacrificed and burnt incense in the high places, and on the hills, and under every green tree.

அவன் மலை உச்சியிலுள்ள மேடைகளிலும், அடர்ந்த மரங்களின் கீழும் பலிசெலுத்தி, தூபங்காட்டினான்.

5 Then Rezin king of Aram and Pekah son of Remaliah king of Israel came up to Jerusalem to war: and they besieged Ahaz, but could not overcome him.

அப்பொழுது சீரிய அரசன் ரேத்சீனும் ரெமலியாவின் மகனான இஸ்ரயேலின் அரசன் பெக்காவும் எருசலேமுக்கு எதிராக அணிவகுத்துச் சென்றார்கள். அவர்கள் ஆகாசை சூழ்ந்துகொண்டபோதும், அவனை மேற்கொள்ள முடியவில்லை.

6 At that time Rezin king of Aram recovered Eilat to Aram, and drove the Jews from Eilat; and the Arameans came to Eilat, and lived there, to this day.

அந்த நேரத்தில் சீரிய அரசன் ரேத்சீன் யூதாவின் மனிதரைத் துரத்திவிட்டு, ஏலாத்தை சீரியாவுக்குத் திரும்பப் பெற்றுக்கொண்டான். அப்பொழுது ஏதோமியர் ஏலாத்துக்குக் குடியிருக்கப் போனார்கள். அவர்கள் இன்றுவரையும் அங்கேயே வாழ்கிறார்கள்.

7 So Ahaz sent messengers to Tiglath Pileser king of Assyria, saying, "I am your servant and your son. Come up, and save me out of the hand of the king of Aram, and out of the hand of the king of Israel, who rise up against me."

அரசன் ஆகாஸ், அசீரியாவின் அரசன் திக்லாத்பிலேசருக்குத் தூதுவரை அனுப்பி, “நான் உமது பணியாளனும், உமக்கு வரி செலுத்துகிறவனுமாய் இருக்கிறேன். இப்போது என்னை எதிர்த்துத் தாக்குகின்ற சீரிய அரசனிடமிருந்தும், இஸ்ரயேல் அரசனிடமிருந்தும் என்னைக் காப்பாற்றும்” என்று கேட்டான்.

8 Ahaz took the silver and gold that was found in the house of the LORD, and in the treasures of the king's house, and sent it for a present to the king of Assyria.

அத்துடன் ஆகாஸ் யெகோவாவின் ஆலயத்திலும், அரண்மனைத் திரவிய அறையிலும் இருந்த வெள்ளியையும், தங்கத்தையும் எடுத்து அவற்றை அசீரிய அரசனுக்கு ஒரு அன்பளிப்பாக அனுப்பினான்.

9 The king of Assyria listened to him; and the king of Assyria went up against Damascus, and took it, and carried its people captive to Kir, and killed Rezin.

அசீரிய அரசன் இவனுடைய வேண்டுகோளுக்கு இணங்கி தமஸ்குவை தாக்கி அதைக் கைப்பற்றினான். அங்கிருந்த குடிமக்களை கீருக்கு நாடுகடத்தி ரேத்சீனையும் கொலைசெய்தான்.

10 King Ahaz went to Damascus to meet Tiglath Pileser king of Assyria, and saw the altar that was at Damascus; and king Ahaz sent to Urijah the priest the fashion of the altar, and its pattern, according to all its workmanship.

இதன்பின் அரசன் ஆகாஸ், அசீரிய அரசன் திக்லாத்பிலேசரைச் சந்திப்பதற்கு தமஸ்குவுக்குப் போனான். அவன் தமஸ்குவில் ஒரு பலிபீடத்தைக் கண்டு, அதன் அளவு விபரங்கள் உள்ளடங்கிய வரைபடத்தை ஆசாரியனான உரியாவுக்கு அனுப்பினான்.

11 Urijah the priest built an altar: according to all that king Ahaz had sent from Damascus, so Urijah the priest made it for the coming of king Ahaz from Damascus.

அப்படியே ஆசாரியனான உரியா தமஸ்குவிலிருந்து ஆகாஸ் தனக்கு அனுப்பிய வரைபடத்தின்படியே, ஆகாஸ் அரசன் திரும்பி வருவதற்கு முன்பே ஒரு பலிபீடத்தைக் கட்டிமுடித்தான்.

12 When the king had come from Damascus, the king saw the altar: and the king drew near to the altar, and offered on it.

ஆகாஸ் அரசன் தமஸ்குவிலிருந்து திரும்பிவந்தபோது, பலிபீடத்தைக் கண்டு அதன் கிட்டப்போய் காணிக்கைகளைச் செலுத்தினான்.

13 He burnt his burnt offering and his meal offering, and poured his drink offering, and sprinkled the blood of his peace offerings, on the altar.

அவன் தன் தகன காணிக்கையையும் தானிய காணிக்கையையும் செலுத்தி, பானகாணிக்கைகளையும் ஊற்றி, சமாதான காணிக்கையின் இரத்தத்தையும் பலிபீடத்தில் தெளித்தான்.

14 The bronze altar, which was before the LORD, he brought from the forefront of the house, from between his altar and the house of the LORD, and put it on the north side of his altar.

யெகோவாவுக்கு முன்பாக இருந்த வெண்கல பலிபீடம், புதிய பலிபீடத்துக்கும் யெகோவாவின் ஆலயத்துக்கும் நடுவில் இருந்தது. அதை ஆலயத்தின் முன் பக்கத்திலிருந்து எடுத்துக்கொண்டுவந்து, புதிய பலிபீடத்தின் வடக்குப் பக்கத்தில் வைத்தான்.

15 King Ahaz commanded Urijah the priest, saying, "On the great altar burn the morning burnt offering, and the evening meal offering, and the king's burnt offering, and his meal offering, with the burnt offering of all the people of the land, and their meal offering, and their drink offerings; and sprinkle on it all the blood of the burnt offering, and all the blood of the sacrifice; but the bronze altar shall be for me to inquire by."

இதன்பின் ஆகாஸ் அரசன் ஆசாரியனான உரியாவுக்குப் பின்வரும் கட்டளையைக் கொடுத்தான். அவன், “இனிமேல் காலையில் செலுத்தும் தகன காணிக்கையையும், மாலையில் செலுத்தும் தானிய காணிக்கையையும், அரசனுடைய தகன காணிக்கை, தானிய காணிக்கை ஆகியவற்றையும், எல்லா நாட்டு மக்களுடைய தகன காணிக்கைகள், தானிய காணிக்கை, பானகாணிக்கை ஆகிய யாவும் புதிய, பெரிய பலிபீடத்தில் செலுத்தப்பட வேண்டும். அத்துடன் எல்லா தகன காணிக்கையின், பலிகளின், இரத்தம் முழுவதையும் புதிய பலிபீடத்தில் தெளிக்கவேண்டும். ஆனால் அந்த வெண்கலப் பலிபீடத்தையோ நான் எனக்கு வழிகாட்டுதலை அறிவதற்காக உபயோகிப்பேன்” என்றான்.

16 Urijah the priest did so, according to all that king Ahaz commanded.

ஆகாஸ் அரசன் கட்டளையிட்டது போலவே ஆசாரியன் உரியா செய்தான்.

17 King Ahaz cut off the panels of the bases, and removed the basin from off them, and took down the sea from off the bronze oxen that were under it, and put it on a pavement of stone.

ஆகாஸ் அரசன், நகர்த்தும் வெண்கலத்தாங்கிகளின் பக்கத் துண்டுகளையும் எடுத்து தொட்டிகளையும் அகற்றினான். பெரிய தொட்டியை, அதைத் தாங்கிக்கொண்டிருந்த வெண்கல எருதுகளின் மேலிருந்து எடுத்து ஒரு கல் தளத்தின்மேல் வைத்தான்.

18 The covered way for the Sabbath that they had built in the house, and the king's entry outside, turned he to the house of the LORD, because of the king of Assyria.

அசீரிய அரசனை திருப்திப்படுத்துவதற்காக, ஆலய வாசலில் கட்டப்பட்டிருந்த ஓய்வுநாள் பயன்பாட்டிற்குரிய கூடாரத்தையும் எடுத்துவிட்டு, யெகோவாவின் ஆலயத்துக்கு வெளியே அமைந்திருந்த அரசர் உட்செல்லும் வாசலையும் அகற்றிவிட்டான்.

19 Now the rest of the acts of Ahaz which he did, aren't they written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah?

ஆகாஸினுடைய ஆட்சியின் மற்ற நிகழ்வுகளும், அவன் செய்தவைகளும் யூதா அரசர்களின் வரலாற்றுப் புத்தகத்தில் அல்லவோ எழுதப்பட்டுள்ளன.

20 Ahaz slept with his fathers, and was buried with his fathers in the City of David: and Hezekiah his son reigned in his place.

ஆகாஸ் தன் முற்பிதாக்களைப்போல இறந்து தாவீதின் நகரத்தில் அவர்களுடன் அடக்கம் செய்யப்பட்டான். அவனுடைய மகன் எசேக்கியா அவனுக்குப்பின் அரசனானான்.
