Luke 18
1 He also taught them by a parable how they ought always to pray and never to lose heart.
อปรญฺจ โลไกรกฺลานฺไต รฺนิรนฺตรํ ปฺรารฺถยิตวฺยมฺ อิตฺยาศเยน ยีศุนา ทฺฤษฺฏานฺต เอก: กถิต: ฯ
2 "There was a certain town," he said, "a judge who had neither reverence for God, nor respect for man.
กุตฺรจินฺนคเร กศฺจิตฺ ปฺราฑฺวิวาก อาสีตฺ ส อีศฺวรานฺนาพิเภตฺ มานุษำศฺจ นามนฺยตฯ
3 "In that same town there was a widow who came again and again before him, saying, "‘Do for me the justice of my adversary.’
อถ ตตฺปุรวาสินี กาจิทฺวิธวา ตตฺสมีปเมตฺย วิวาทินา สห มม วิวาทํ ปริษฺกุรฺวฺวิติ นิเวทยามาสฯ
4 "For a while he would not, but afterwards he said to himself, ‘Though I have neither reverence for God nor regard for man,
ตต: ส ปฺราฑฺวิวาก: กิยทฺทินานิ น ตทงฺคีกฺฤตวานฺ ปศฺจาจฺจิตฺเต จินฺตยามาส, ยทฺยปีศฺวรานฺน พิเภมิ มนุษฺยานปิ น มเนฺย
5 "‘yet because this woman annoys me I will give her justice, lest by her continual coming she wear me out.’
ตถาเปฺยษา วิธวา มำ กฺลิศฺนาติ ตสฺมาทสฺยา วิวาทํ ปริษฺกริษฺยามิ โนเจตฺ สา สทาคตฺย มำ วฺยคฺรํ กริษฺยติฯ
6 "Listen" said the Lord, "to what this unjust judge says.
ปศฺจาตฺ ปฺรภุรวททฺ อสาวนฺยายปฺราฑฺวิวาโก ยทาห ตตฺร มโน นิธธฺวํฯ
7 "And will not God see justice done to his elect who are crying unto him day and night, even if he seems to delay helping them?
อีศฺวรสฺย เย 'ภิรุจิตโลกา ทิวานิศํ ปฺรารฺถยนฺเต ส พหุทินานิ วิลมฺพฺยาปิ เตษำ วิวาทานฺ กึ น ปริษฺกริษฺยติ?
8 "I tell you that he will quickly see justice done to his elect! Nevertheless, when the Son of man comes, will he find faith upon the earth?"
ยุษฺมานหํ วทามิ ตฺวรยา ปริษฺกริษฺยติ, กินฺตุ ยทา มนุษฺยปุตฺร อาคมิษฺยติ ตทา ปฺฤถิวฺยำ กิมีทฺฤศํ วิศฺวาสํ ปฺราปฺสฺยติ?
9 Moreover he spoke this parable to some who trusted in themselves because they were righteous, and looked down upon the rest.
เย สฺวานฺ ธารฺมฺมิกานฺ ชฺญาตฺวา ปรานฺ ตุจฺฉีกุรฺวฺวนฺติ เอตาทฺฤคฺภฺย: , กิยทฺภฺย อิมํ ทฺฤษฺฏานฺตํ กถยามาสฯ
10 "Two men are going up to the temple to pray; the one a Pharisee, the other a tax-gatherer.
เอก: ผิรูศฺยปร: กรสญฺจายี ทฺวาวิเมา ปฺรารฺถยิตุํ มนฺทิรํ คเตาฯ
11 "The Pharisee stood apart and thus began to pray by himself. "‘O God, I thank thee that I am not like the rest of men, extortioners, rogues, adulterers, or even like this tax gatherer;
ตโต'เสา ผิรูเศฺยกปารฺเศฺว ติษฺฐนฺ เห อีศฺวร อหมนฺยโลกวตฺ โลฐยิตานฺยายี ปารทาริกศฺจ น ภวามิ อสฺย กรสญฺจายินสฺตุลฺยศฺจ น, ตสฺมาตฺตฺวำ ธนฺยํ วทามิฯ
12 "‘I fast twice a week, I pay tithes of all my possessions.’
สปฺตสุ ทิเนษุ ทินทฺวยมุปวสามิ สรฺวฺวสมฺปตฺเต รฺทศมำศํ ททามิ จ, เอตตฺกถำ กถยนฺ ปฺรารฺถยามาสฯ
13 "But the tax-gatherer, standing far back, would not lift up so much as his eyes to heaven, but kept beating his breast and saying, "‘O God be merciful to me, the sinner!’
กินฺตุ ส กรสญฺจายิ ทูเร ติษฺฐนฺ สฺวรฺคํ ทฺรษฺฏุํ เนจฺฉนฺ วกฺษสิ กราฆาตํ กุรฺวฺวนฺ เห อีศฺวร ปาปิษฺฐํ มำ ทยสฺว, อิตฺถํ ปฺรารฺถยามาสฯ
14 "I tell you that this man went down to his house justified rather than the other; for every one who exalts himself shall be humbled; but he who humbles himself shall be exalted."
ยุษฺมานหํ วทามิ, ตโยรฺทฺวโย รฺมเธฺย เกวล: กรสญฺจายี ปุณฺยวตฺเตฺวน คณิโต นิชคฺฤหํ ชคาม, ยโต ย: กศฺจิตฺ สฺวมุนฺนมยติ ส นามยิษฺยเต กินฺตุ ย: กศฺจิตฺ สฺวํ นมยติ ส อุนฺนมยิษฺยเตฯ
15 And they kept bringing their babies for him to touch them; but when his disciples saw it they began to rebuke them.
อถ ศิศูนำ คาตฺรสฺปรฺศารฺถํ โลกาสฺตานฺ ตสฺย สมีปมานินฺยุ: ศิษฺยาสฺตทฺ ทฺฤษฺฏฺวาเนตฺฤนฺ ตรฺชยามาสุ: ,
16 But Jesus called for the babies. "Let the little children come to me," he said, "do not hinder them; for of such is the kingdom of heaven.
กินฺตุ ยีศุสฺตานาหูย ชคาท, มนฺนิกฏมฺ อาคนฺตุํ ศิศูนฺ อนุชานีธฺวํ ตำศฺจ มา วารยต; ยต อีศฺวรราชฺยาธิการิณ เอษำ สทฺฤศา: ฯ
17 "I tell you in solemn truth that whoever will not receive the kingdom of God like a little child, he will never get into it."
อหํ ยุษฺมานฺ ยถารฺถํ วทามิ, โย ชน: ศิโศ: สทฺฤโศ ภูตฺวา อีศฺวรราชฺยํ น คฺฤหฺลาติ ส เกนาปิ ปฺรกาเรณ ตตฺ ปฺรเวษฺฏุํ น ศกฺโนติฯ
18 A ruler put this question to him. "Good teacher, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?" (aiōnios g166)
อปรมฺ เอโกธิปติสฺตํ ปปฺรจฺฉ, เห ปรมคุโร, อนนฺตายุษ: ปฺราปฺตเย มยา กึ กรฺตฺตวฺยํ? (aiōnios g166)
19 "Why are you calling me ‘good’?"said Jesus to him; "no one is good but God.
ยีศุรุวาจ, มำ กุต: ปรมํ วทสิ? อีศฺวรํ วินา โกปิ ปรโม น ภวติฯ
20 "You know the commandments. "Do not commit adultery, Do not murder, Do not steal, Do not bear false witness, Honor your father and mother."
ปรทารานฺ มา คจฺฉ, นรํ มา ชหิ, มา โจรย, มิถฺยาสากฺษฺยํ มา เทหิ, มาตรํ ปิตรญฺจ สํมนฺยสฺว, เอตา ยา อาชฺญา: สนฺติ ตาสฺตฺวํ ชานาสิฯ
21 "All of these," he replied, "I have kept from my youth up."
ตทา ส อุวาจ, พาลฺยกาลาตฺ สรฺวฺวา เอตา อาจรามิฯ
22 And receiving this reply, Jesus said to him. "One thing you are still lacking. Sell all that you have and give it to the poor, and you shall have treasure in heaven. Then come and follow me."
อิติ กถำ ศฺรุตฺวา ยีศุสฺตมวทตฺ, ตถาปิ ตไวกํ กรฺมฺม นฺยูนมาเสฺต, นิชํ สรฺวฺวสฺวํ วิกฺรีย ทริเทฺรโภฺย วิตร, ตสฺมาตฺ สฺวรฺเค ธนํ ปฺราปฺสฺยสิ; ตต อาคตฺย มมานุคามี ภวฯ
23 But when he heard these words he became deeply grieved, for he was exceedingly rich.
กินฺเตฺวตำ กถำ ศฺรุตฺวา โสธิปติ: ศุโศจ, ยตสฺตสฺย พหุธนมาสีตฺฯ
24 Jesus looked at him and said. "How hard it is for those who have money to enter into the kingdom of God!
ตทา ยีศุสฺตมติโศกานฺวิตํ ทฺฤษฺฏฺวา ชคาท, ธนวตามฺ อีศฺวรราชฺยปฺรเวศ: กีทฺฤคฺ ทุษฺกร: ฯ
25 Why, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God."
อีศฺวรราเชฺย ธนิน: ปฺรเวศาตฺ สูเจศฺฉิเทฺรณ มหางฺคสฺย คมนาคมเน สุกเรฯ
26 "Who then can be saved?" exclaimed his hearers.
โศฺรตาร: ปปฺรจฺฉุสฺตรฺหิ เกน ปริตฺราณํ ปฺราปฺสฺยเต?
27 "Things that are impossible with men," he answered them, "are possible with God."
ส อุกฺตวานฺ, ยนฺ มานุเษณาศกฺยํ ตทฺ อีศฺวเรณ ศกฺยํฯ
28 Then Peter said, "Look! we have left our homes and followed you."
ตทา ปิตร อุวาจ, ปศฺย วยํ สรฺวฺวสฺวํ ปริตฺยชฺย ตว ปศฺจาทฺคามิโน'ภวามฯ
29 And he said to them, "In Solemn truth I tell you that there is no one who, for the sake of the kingdom of God, has left houses, or wife, or brother, or parents, or children,
ตต: ส อุวาจ, ยุษฺมานหํ ยถารฺถํ วทามิ, อีศฺวรราชฺยารฺถํ คฺฤหํ ปิตเรา ภฺราตฺฤคณํ ชายำ สนฺตานำศฺจ ตฺยกฺตวา
31 Then he took the twelve aside and told them. "See, we are on our way to Jerusalem, and all prophets regarding the son of Man will be fulfilled.
อนนฺตรํ ส ทฺวาทศศิษฺยานาหูย พภาเษ, ปศฺยต วยํ ยิรูศาลมฺนครํ ยาม: , ตสฺมาตฺ มนุษฺยปุเตฺร ภวิษฺยทฺวาทิภิรุกฺตํ ยทสฺติ ตทนุรูปํ ตํ ปฺรติ ฆฏิษฺยเต;
32 "He will be betrayed to the Gentiles, and be mocked, and shamefully treated, and spit upon;
วสฺตุตสฺตุ โส'นฺยเทศียานำ หเสฺตษุ สมรฺปยิษฺยเต, เต ตมุปหสิษฺยนฺติ, อนฺยายมาจริษฺยนฺติ ตทฺวปุษิ นิษฺฐีวํ นิกฺเษปฺสฺยนฺติ, กศาภิ: ปฺรหฺฤตฺย ตํ หนิษฺยนฺติ จ,
33 "and they will scourge and kill him; and the third day he will rise again."
กินฺตุ ตฺฤตียทิเน ส ศฺมศานาทฺ อุตฺถาสฺยติฯ
34 But they understood none of these sayings. His words were a mystery to them, and they did not know what he meant.
เอตสฺยา: กถายา อภิปฺรายํ กิญฺจิทปิ เต โพทฺธุํ น เศกุ: เตษำ นิกเฏ'สฺปษฺฏตวาตฺ ตไสฺยตาสำ กถานามฺ อาศยํ เต ชฺญาตุํ น เศกุศฺจฯ
35 As Jesus drew near to Jericho, there was a blind man who sat by the wayside begging.
อถ ตสฺมินฺ ยิรีโห: ปุรสฺยานฺติกํ ปฺราปฺเต กศฺจิทนฺธ: ปถ: ปารฺศฺว อุปวิศฺย ภิกฺษามฺ อกโรตฺ
36 He heard the crowd passing and asked what the matter was.
ส โลกสมูหสฺย คมนศพฺทํ ศฺรุตฺวา ตตฺการณํ ปฺฤษฺฏวานฺฯ
37 They told him, "Jesus of Nazareth is passing by."
นาสรตียยีศุรฺยาตีติ โลไกรุกฺเต ส อุจฺไจรฺวกฺตุมาเรเภ,
38 Then he shouted out, saying, "Jesus, son of David, take pity on me!"
เห ทายูท: สนฺตาน ยีโศ มำ ทยสฺวฯ
39 Those who went ahead began to reprove him and to tell him to be still; but he kept clamorously shouting all the more, "Son of David, take pity on me!"
ตโตคฺรคามินสฺตํ เมานี ติษฺเฐติ ตรฺชยามาสุ: กินฺตุ ส ปุนารุวนฺ อุวาจ, เห ทายูท: สนฺตาน มำ ทยสฺวฯ
40 So Jesus stopped and ordered him to be brought to him. When he was come near to him he asked him
ตทา ยีศุ: สฺถคิโต ภูตฺวา สฺวานฺติเก ตมาเนตุมฺ อาทิเทศฯ
41 "What do you want me to do for you?" "Lord," he answered, "that I might see again."
ตต: ส ตสฺยานฺติกมฺ อาคมตฺ, ตทา ส ตํ ปปฺรจฺฉ, ตฺวํ กิมิจฺฉสิ? ตฺวทรฺถมหํ กึ กริษฺยามิ? ส อุกฺตวานฺ, เห ปฺรโภ'หํ ทฺรษฺฏุํ ลไภฯ
42 "Receive your sight," said Jesus, "your faith has saved you."
ตทา ยีศุรุวาจ, ทฺฤษฺฏิศกฺตึ คฺฤหาณ ตว ปฺรตฺยยสฺตฺวำ สฺวสฺถํ กฺฤตวานฺฯ
43 Instantly he regained his sight and followed Jesus, giving glory to God; and all the people who saw it gave praise to God.
ตตสฺตตฺกฺษณาตฺ ตสฺย จกฺษุษี ปฺรสนฺเน; ตสฺมาตฺ ส อีศฺวรํ ธนฺยํ วทนฺ ตตฺปศฺจาทฺ ยเยา, ตทาโลกฺย สรฺเวฺว โลกา อีศฺวรํ ปฺรศํสิตุมฺ อาเรภิเรฯ
