Luke 18
1 He also taught them by a parable how they ought always to pray and never to lose heart.
E [Jesus] lhes disse também uma parábola [sobre] o dever de sempre orar, e nunca se cansar.
2 "There was a certain town," he said, "a judge who had neither reverence for God, nor respect for man.
Dizendo: Havia um certo juiz em uma cidade, que não temia a Deus, nem respeitava pessoa alguma.
3 "In that same town there was a widow who came again and again before him, saying, "‘Do for me the justice of my adversary.’
Havia também naquela mesma cidade uma certa viúva, e vinha até ele, dizendo: Faze-me justiça com meu adversário.
4 "For a while he would not, but afterwards he said to himself, ‘Though I have neither reverence for God nor regard for man,
E por um [certo] tempo ele não quis; mas depois disto, disse para si: Ainda que eu não tema a Deus, nem respeite pessoa alguma,
5 "‘yet because this woman annoys me I will give her justice, lest by her continual coming she wear me out.’
Porém, porque esta viúva me incomoda, eu lhe farei justiça, para que ela pare de vir me chatear.
6 "Listen" said the Lord, "to what this unjust judge says.
E disse o Senhor: Ouvi o que diz o juiz injusto.
7 "And will not God see justice done to his elect who are crying unto him day and night, even if he seems to delay helping them?
E Deus não fará justiça para seus escolhidos, que clamam a ele de dia e de noite? Demorará com eles?
8 "I tell you that he will quickly see justice done to his elect! Nevertheless, when the Son of man comes, will he find faith upon the earth?"
Digo-vos que depressa lhes fará justiça. Porém, quando o Filho do homem vier, por acaso ele achará fé na terra?
9 Moreover he spoke this parable to some who trusted in themselves because they were righteous, and looked down upon the rest.
E disse também a uns, que tinham confiança de si mesmos que eram justos, e desprezavam aos outros, esta parábola:
10 "Two men are going up to the temple to pray; the one a Pharisee, the other a tax-gatherer.
Dois homens subiram ao Templo para orar, um fariseu, e o outro publicano.
11 "The Pharisee stood apart and thus began to pray by himself. "‘O God, I thank thee that I am not like the rest of men, extortioners, rogues, adulterers, or even like this tax gatherer;
O fariseu, estando de pé, orava consigo desta maneira: Ó Deus, eu te agradeço, porque não sou como os outros homens, ladrões, injustos e adúlteros; nem [sou] como este publicano.
12 "‘I fast twice a week, I pay tithes of all my possessions.’
Jejuo duas vezes por semana, [e] dou dízimo de tudo quanto possuo.
13 "But the tax-gatherer, standing far back, would not lift up so much as his eyes to heaven, but kept beating his breast and saying, "‘O God be merciful to me, the sinner!’
E o publicano, estando em pé de longe, nem mesmo queria levantar os olhos ao céu, mas batia em seu peito, dizendo: Ó Deus, tem misericórdia de mim, [que sou] pecador.
14 "I tell you that this man went down to his house justified rather than the other; for every one who exalts himself shall be humbled; but he who humbles himself shall be exalted."
Digo-vos que este desceu mais justificado à sua casa do que aquele outro; porque qualquer que a si mesmo se exalta, será humilhado; e qualquer que a si mesmo se humilha, será exaltado.
15 And they kept bringing their babies for him to touch them; but when his disciples saw it they began to rebuke them.
E traziam-lhe também crianças pequenas, para que as tocasse; e os discípulos, vendo, os repreendiam.
16 But Jesus called for the babies. "Let the little children come to me," he said, "do not hinder them; for of such is the kingdom of heaven.
Mas Jesus, chamando-lhes para si, disse: Deixai as crianças virem a mim, e não as impeçais; porque das tais é o Reino de Deus.
17 "I tell you in solemn truth that whoever will not receive the kingdom of God like a little child, he will never get into it."
Em verdade vos digo, que qualquer que não receber o Reino de Deus como criança, não entrará nele.
18 A ruler put this question to him. "Good teacher, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?" (aiōnios g166)
E um certo líder lhe perguntou, dizendo: Bom mestre, o que tenho que fazer para herdar a vida eterna? (aiōnios g166)
19 "Why are you calling me ‘good’?"said Jesus to him; "no one is good but God.
E Jesus lhe disse: Por que me chamas de bom? Ninguém [é] bom, a não ser um: Deus.
20 "You know the commandments. "Do not commit adultery, Do not murder, Do not steal, Do not bear false witness, Honor your father and mother."
Tu sabes os mandamentos: não adulterarás, não matarás, não furtarás, não darás falso testemunho, honra a teu pai e a tua mãe.
21 "All of these," he replied, "I have kept from my youth up."
E ele disse: Todas estas coisas tenho guardado desde minha juventude.
22 And receiving this reply, Jesus said to him. "One thing you are still lacking. Sell all that you have and give it to the poor, and you shall have treasure in heaven. Then come and follow me."
Porém Jesus, ouvindo isto, disse-lhe: Ainda uma coisa te falta: vende tudo quanto tens, e reparte-o entre os pobres, e terás um tesouro no céu; e vem, segue-me.
23 But when he heard these words he became deeply grieved, for he was exceedingly rich.
Mas ele, ouvindo isto, ficou muito triste, porque era muito rico.
24 Jesus looked at him and said. "How hard it is for those who have money to enter into the kingdom of God!
E vendo Jesus que ele tinha ficado muito triste, disse: Como é difícil os que têm [muitos] bens entrarem no Reino de Deus!
25 Why, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God."
Porque é mais fácil um camelo entrar pelo olho de uma agulha do que um rico entrar no Reino de Deus.
26 "Who then can be saved?" exclaimed his hearers.
E os que ouviram [isto], disseram: Quem então pode se salvar?
27 "Things that are impossible with men," he answered them, "are possible with God."
E ele disse: As coisas que são impossíveis para os seres humanos são possíveis para Deus.
28 Then Peter said, "Look! we have left our homes and followed you."
E Pedro disse: Eis que deixamos tudo, e temos te seguido.
29 And he said to them, "In Solemn truth I tell you that there is no one who, for the sake of the kingdom of God, has left houses, or wife, or brother, or parents, or children,
E ele lhes disse: Em verdade vos digo, que há ninguém que, tenha deixado casa, ou pais, ou irmãos, ou mulher, ou filhos,
31 Then he took the twelve aside and told them. "See, we are on our way to Jerusalem, and all prophets regarding the son of Man will be fulfilled.
E tomando consigo aos doze, disse-lhes: Eis que estamos subindo a Jerusalém, e se cumprirá no Filho do homem tudo o que [está] escrito pelos profetas.
32 "He will be betrayed to the Gentiles, and be mocked, and shamefully treated, and spit upon;
Porque ele será entregue aos gentios, e escarnecido, injuriado e cuspido.
33 "and they will scourge and kill him; and the third day he will rise again."
E [depois de] açoitá-lo, o matarão; e ao terceiro dia ressuscitará.
34 But they understood none of these sayings. His words were a mystery to them, and they did not know what he meant.
E eles nada entendiam destas coisas; e esta palavra lhes era oculta; e não entendiam o que estava sendo lhes dito.
35 As Jesus drew near to Jericho, there was a blind man who sat by the wayside begging.
E aconteceu que ele, chegando perto de Jericó, estava um cego sentado junto ao caminho, mendigando.
36 He heard the crowd passing and asked what the matter was.
E este, ouvindo a multidão passar, perguntou: O que era aquilo?
37 They told him, "Jesus of Nazareth is passing by."
E disseram-lhe que Jesus Nazareno estava passando.
38 Then he shouted out, saying, "Jesus, son of David, take pity on me!"
Então clamou, dizendo: Jesus, Filho de Davi, tem misericórdia de mim!
39 Those who went ahead began to reprove him and to tell him to be still; but he kept clamorously shouting all the more, "Son of David, take pity on me!"
E os que estavam mais a frente o repreendiam, para que calasse; porém ele clamava ainda mais: Filho de Davi, tem misericórdia de mim!
40 So Jesus stopped and ordered him to be brought to him. When he was come near to him he asked him
Então Jesus, parando, mandou que o trouxessem para si; e chegando ele, perguntou-lhe,
41 "What do you want me to do for you?" "Lord," he answered, "that I might see again."
Dizendo: Que queres que eu te faça? E ele disse: Senhor, que eu veja.
42 "Receive your sight," said Jesus, "your faith has saved you."
E Jesus lhe disse: Vê, tua fé te salvou.
43 Instantly he regained his sight and followed Jesus, giving glory to God; and all the people who saw it gave praise to God.
E logo ele viu, e o seguia, glorificando a Deus. E o todo o povo, vendo [isto], dava louvores a Deus.
