1 And the high priest said, "Are these things so?"
ⲁ̅ⲡⲉϫⲁϥ ⲇⲉ ⲛⲁϥ ⳿ⲛϫⲉ ⲡⲓⲁⲣⲭⲏⲉⲣⲉⲩⲥ ϫⲉ ⲁⲛ ⲛⲁⲓ ϣⲟⲡ ⳿ⲙⲡⲁⲓⲣⲏϯ.
2 Stephen answered. "Listen, brothers and fathers. The God of glory appeared to our father Abraham, when he was in Mesopotamia, before he dwelt in Haran,
ⲃ̅⳿ⲛⲑⲟϥ ⲇⲉ ⲡⲉϫⲁϥ ⲛⲓⲣⲱⲙⲓ ⲛⲉⲛ⳿ⲥⲛⲏⲟⲩ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲛⲉⲛⲓⲟϯ ⲥⲱⲧⲉⲙ Ⲫϯ ⳿ⲛⲧⲉ ⳿ⲡ⳿ⲱⲟⲩ ⲁϥⲟⲩⲟⲛϩϥ ⳿ⲉⲡⲉⲛⲓⲱⲧ Ⲁⲃⲣⲁⲁⲙ ⲉϥⲭⲏ ⳿ⲉ⳿ϩⲣⲏⲓ ϧⲉⲛ ϯⲙⲉⲥⲟⲡⲟⲧⲁⲙⲓ⳿ⲁ ⳿ⲙⲡⲁⲧⲉϥϣⲱⲡⲓ ϧⲉⲛ ⲭⲁⲣⲣⲁⲛ.
3 and said to him, "Leave your country and your kindred, and come to whatever land I will show you.
ⲅ̅ⲡⲉϫⲁϥ ⲛⲁϥ ϫⲉ ⳿ⲁⲙⲟⲩ ⳿ⲉⲃⲟⲗϧⲉⲛ ⲡⲉⲕⲕⲁϩⲓ ⲛⲉⲙ ⳿ⲉⲃⲟⲗϧⲉⲛ ⲧⲉⲕⲥⲩⲅⲅⲉⲛⲓ⳿ⲁ ⳿ⲁⲙⲟⲩ ⳿ⲉⲡⲓⲕⲁϩⲓ ⳿ⲉϯⲛⲁⲧⲁⲙⲟⲕ ⳿ⲉⲣⲟϥ.
4 "So he left Chaldea and settled in Haran, and from there, after his father’s death, God moved him to this land which you inhabit.
ⲇ̅ⲧⲟⲧⲉ ⲁϥ⳿ⲓ ⳿ⲉⲃⲟⲗϧⲉⲛ ⳿ⲡⲕⲁϩⲓ ⳿ⲛⲧⲉ ⲛⲓⲭⲁⲗⲇⲉⲟⲥ ⲁϥϣⲱⲡⲓ ϧⲉⲛ ⲭⲁⲣⲣⲁⲛ ⳿ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲇⲉ ⳿ⲙⲙⲁⲩ ⲙⲉⲛⲉⲛⲥⲁ ⳿ⲑⲣⲉϥⲙⲟⲩ ⳿ⲛϫⲉ ⲡⲉϥⲓⲱⲧ ⲁϥⲟⲩⲟⲑⲃⲉϥ ⳿ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲉⲑⲣⲉϥϣⲱⲡⲓ ϧⲉⲛ ⲡⲁⲓⲕⲁϩⲓ ⲫⲁⲓ ⳿ⲛⲑⲱⲧⲉⲛ ⳿ⲉⲧⲉⲧⲉⲛϣⲟⲡ ϩⲓⲱⲧϥ ϯⲛⲟⲩ.
5 "But he gave him no inheritance in it, no, not a single square yard of ground; yet he promised to bestow the land as a permanent possession on him and his posterity - he at that time being childless.
ⲉ̅⳿ⲙⲡⲉϥϯ ⲛⲁϥ ⳿ⲛⲟⲩ⳿ⲕⲗⲏⲣⲟⲛⲟⲙⲓ⳿ⲁ ⳿ⲛϧⲏⲧϥ ⲟⲩⲇⲉ ⲟⲩϣⲉⲛⲧⲁⲧⲥⲓ ⳿ⲛⲧⲉ ⲟⲩϭⲁⲗⲟϫ ⲁϥⲱϣ ⳿ⲉⲧⲏⲓϥ ⲛⲁϥ ϧⲉⲛ ⲟⲩ⳿ⲁⲙⲁϩⲓ ⲛⲉⲙ ⲡⲉϥ⳿ϫⲣⲟϫ ⲙ⳿ⲉⲛⲉⲛⲥⲱϥ ⳿ⲙⲙⲟⲛⲧⲉϥ ϣⲏⲣⲓ ⲇⲉ ⳿ⲙⲙⲁⲩ.
6 "What God said was this. "‘His offspring will sojourn in a foreign land where they will be enslaved and oppressed for four hundred years.
ⲋ̅ⲁ Ⲫϯ ⲇⲉ ⲥⲁϫⲓ ⳿ⲙⲡⲁⲓⲣⲏϯ ϫⲉ ⳿ⲉⲣⲉ ⲡⲉⲕ⳿ϫⲣⲟϫ ⲉⲣⲣⲉⲙ⳿ⲛϫⲱⲓⲗⲓ ϧⲉⲛ ⲟⲩⲕⲁϩⲓ ⳿ⲛϣⲉⲙⲙⲟ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲉⲩ⳿ⲉⲁⲓⲧⲟⲩ ⳿ⲙⲃⲱⲕ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲉⲩ⳿ⲉ⳿ⲧϩⲉⲙⲕⲱⲟⲩ ⳿ⲛⲩ̅ ⳿ⲛⲣⲟⲙⲡⲓ.
7 "‘And the nation, whichever it is, that enslaves them I will judge, said God, ‘and after ward they shall come out, and they shall worship me in this place.
ⲍ̅ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲡⲓ⳿ϣⲗⲱⲗ ⲉⲧⲟⲩⲛⲁⲉⲣⲃⲱⲕ ⲛⲁϥ ⲉⲓ⳿ⲉϯϩⲁⲡ ⳿ⲉⲣⲟϥ ⳿ⲁⲛⲟⲕ ⲡⲉϫⲉ Ⲫϯ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲙⲉⲛⲉⲛⲥⲁ ⲛⲁⲓ ⲉⲩ⳿ⲉ⳿ⲓ ⳿ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲉⲩ⳿ⲉϣⲉⲙϣⲓ ⳿ⲙⲙⲟⲓ ϧⲉⲛ ⲡⲁⲓⲙⲁ ⲫⲁⲓ.
8 "Then he gave him a covenant of circumcision, and under this covenant he became the father of Isaac, whom he circumcised on the eighth day, and Isaac became the father of Jacob, and Jacob became the father of the twelve Patriarchs.
ⲏ̅ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲁϥϯ ⲛⲁϥ ⳿ⲛⲟⲩⲇⲓ⳿ⲁⲑⲏⲕⲏ⳿ⲛⲧⲉ ⳿ⲡⲥⲉⲃⲓ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲡⲁⲓⲣⲏϯ ⲁϥ⳿ϫⲫⲉ ⳿ Ⲓⲥⲁⲁⲕ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲁϥⲥⲟⲩⲃⲏⲧϥ ϧⲉⲛ ⲡⲓⲙⲁϩⲏ̅ ⳿ⲛ⳿ⲉϩⲟⲟⲩ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⳿ Ⲓⲥⲁⲁⲕ ⲁϥ⳿ϫⲫⲉ Ⲓⲁⲕⲱⲃ Ⲓⲁⲕⲱⲃ ⲁϥ⳿ϫⲫⲟ ⳿ⲙⲡⲓⲓ̅ⲃ̅ ⳿ⲙⲡⲁⲧⲣⲓⲁⲣⲭⲏⲥ.
9 "The patriarchs out of jealousy sold Joseph into Egypt.
ⲑ̅ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲛⲓⲡⲁⲧⲣⲓⲁⲣⲭⲏⲥ ⲁⲩⲭⲟϩ ⳿ⲉⲒⲱⲥⲏⲫ ⲁⲩⲧⲏⲓϥ ⳿ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⳿ⲉ⳿ϩⲣⲏⲓ ⳿ⲉⲬⲏⲙⲓ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲛⲁⲣⲉ Ⲫϯ ⲭⲏ ⲛⲉⲙⲁϥ ⲡⲉ.
10 "But God was with him, and delivered him out of all his afflictions, and gave him grace and wisdom, when he stood before Pharaoh, king of Egypt, who appointed him Governor over Egypt, and over all the royal household.
ⲓ̅ⲁϥⲛⲁϩⲙⲉϥ ⳿ⲉⲃⲟⲗϧⲉⲛ ⲛⲉϥ⳿ⲑⲗⲩⲯⲓⲥ ⲧⲏⲣⲟⲩ ⲁϥϯ ⲛⲁϥ ⳿ⲛⲟⲩ⳿ϩⲙⲟⲧ ⲛⲉⲙ ⲟⲩⲥⲟⲫⲓ⳿ⲁ ⳿ⲙⲡⲉ⳿ⲙⲑⲟ ⳿ⲙⲫⲁⲣⲁⲱ ⳿ⲡⲟⲩⲣⲟ ⳿ⲛⲬⲏⲙⲓ ⲁϥⲭⲁϥ ⳿ⲛϩⲩⲅⲟⲩⲙⲉⲛⲟⲥ ⳿ⲉ⳿ϩⲣⲏⲓ ⳿ⲉϫⲉⲛ ⲭⲏ ⲙⲓ ⲛⲉⲙ ⳿ⲉϫⲉⲛ ⲡⲉϥⲏⲓ ⲧⲏⲣϥ.
11 "Then there came a famine over the whole of Egypt and Canaan, and great distress, so that our ancestors could not find food.
ⲓ̅ⲁ̅ⲁϥ⳿ⲓ ⲇⲉ ⳿ⲛϫⲉ ⲟⲩ⳿ϩⲃⲱⲛ ⳿ⲉϫⲉⲛ ⲭⲏ ⲙⲓ ⲧⲏⲣϥ ⲛⲉⲙ ⲭⲁⲛⲁⲁⲛ ⲛⲉⲙ ⲟⲩⲛⲓϣϯ ⳿ⲛ⳿ⲑⲗⲩ ⲯⲓⲥ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲛⲁⲩϫⲉⲙ ⲥⲟⲩ⳿ⲟ ⲁⲛ ⲡⲉ ⳿ⲛϫⲉ ⲛⲉⲛⲓⲟϯ.
12 "But Jacob heard that there was food in Egypt, and sent our ancestors there on their first visit.
ⲓ̅ⲃ̅ⲁϥⲥⲱⲧⲉⲙ ⲇⲉ ⳿ⲛϫⲉ Ⲓⲁⲕⲱⲃ ϫⲉ ⲥⲉϯ ⲥⲟⲩ⳿ⲟ ⳿ⲉⲃⲟⲗϧⲉⲛ ⲭⲏ ⲙⲓ ⲁϥⲧⲁⲟⲩ⳿ⲟ ⳿ⲛⲛⲉⲛⲓⲟϯ ⳿ⲛϣⲟⲣⲡ.
13 "On their second visit Joseph made himself known to his brothers, and Pharaoh was informed of Joseph’s parentage.
ⲓ̅ⲅ̅ⲟⲩⲟϩ ϧⲉⲛ ⲡⲓⲙⲁϩⲥⲟⲡ ⲃ̅ ⲁϥⲟⲩⲟⲛϩϥ ⳿ⲛϫⲉ Ⲓⲱⲥⲏⲫ ⳿⳿ⲉⲛⲉϥ⳿ⲥⲛⲏⲟⲩ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⳿ⲁ ⳿ⲡⲅⲉⲛⲟⲥ ⳿ⲛⲒⲱⲥⲏⲫ ⲁϥⲟⲩⲟⲛϩϥ ⳿ⲉⲫⲁⲣⲁⲱ.
14 "Then Joseph sent and invited Jacob his father and all his family, numbering seventy-five souls, to come to him;
ⲓ̅ⲇ̅ⲁϥⲟⲩⲱⲣⲡ ⲇⲉ ⳿ⲛϫⲉ Ⲓⲱⲥⲏⲫ ⲁϥⲙⲟⲩϯ ⳿ⲉⲒⲁⲕⲱⲃ ⲡⲉϥⲓⲱⲧ ⲛⲉⲙ ⲧⲉϥⲥⲩⲅⲅⲉⲛⲓⲁ ⲧⲏⲣⲥ ⳿ⲉ⳿ϩⲣⲏⲓ ϧⲉⲛ ⲟ̅ⲉ̅ ⳿ⲙⲯⲩⲭⲏ.
15 "and Jacob went down into Egypt.
ⲓ̅ⲉ̅ⲁϥ⳿ⲓ ⲇⲉ ⳿ⲛϫⲉ Ⲓⲁⲕⲱⲃ ⳿ⲉ⳿ϧⲣⲏⲓ ⳿ⲉⲬⲏⲙⲓ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲁϥⲙⲟⲩ ⳿ⲛⲑⲟϥ ⲛⲉⲙ ⲛⲉⲛⲓⲟϯ.
16 "There he died, and our ancestors also, and they were carried across to Shechem, and laid in the tomb which Abraham had purchased for a sum of money from the sons of Hamor in Shechem.
ⲓ̅ⲋ̅ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲁⲩⲟⲩⲟⲑⲃⲉϥ ⳿ⲉⲥⲩⲭⲉⲙ ⲁⲩⲭⲁϥ ϧⲉⲛ ⲡⲓ⳿ⲙϩⲁⲩ ⳿ⲉⲧⲁϥϣⲟⲡϥ ⳿ⲛϫⲉ Ⲁⲃⲣⲁⲁⲙ ϧⲁ ⲟⲩⲧⲓⲙⲏ⳿ⲛϩⲁⲧ ⳿ⲛⲧⲟⲧⲟⲩ ⳿ⲛⲛⲉⲛϣⲏⲣⲓ ⳿ⲛⲉⲙⲱⲣ ϧⲉⲛ ⲥⲩⲭⲉⲙ.
17 "but as the time drew near for the fulfilment of the promise which God made to Abraham, the people multiplied and increased in Egypt;
ⲓ̅ⲍ̅ⲕⲁⲧⲁ⳿ⲫⲣⲏϯ ⲇⲉ ⳿ⲉⲧⲁϥϧⲱⲛⲧ ⳿ⲛϫⲉ ⳿ⲡⲥⲏⲟⲩ ⳿ⲛⲧⲉ ϯⲉⲡⲁⲅⲅⲉⲗⲓ⳿ⲁ ⲑⲏ⳿ⲉⲧⲁ Ⲫϯ ⲱⲣⲕ ⲉⲑⲃⲏⲧⲥ ⳿ⲛⲀⲃⲣⲁⲁⲙ ⲁϥⲁⲓⲁⲓ ⳿ⲛϫⲉ ⲡⲓⲗⲁⲟⲥ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲁϥ⳿ⲁⲙⲁϩⲓ ⲁϥ⳿ⲁϣⲁⲓ ⳿ⲛ⳿ϩⲣⲏⲓ ϧⲉⲛ ⲭⲏ ⲙⲓ.
18 "until there arose a king who knew not Joseph.
ⲓ̅ⲏ̅ϣⲁⲛⲧⲉϥⲧⲱⲛϥ ⳿ⲛϫⲉ ⲕⲉⲟⲩⲣⲟ ⳿ⲉϫⲉⲛ ⲭⲏ ⲙⲓ ⳿ⲛ⳿ϥⲥⲱⲟⲩⲛ ⲁⲛ ⳿ⲛⲒⲱⲥⲏⲫ.
19 "He dealt craftily with our race, and oppressed our forefathers, by making them expose their infants so that they should not live.
ⲓ̅ⲑ̅ⲫⲁⲓ ⲁϥϫⲉⲙ ⲟⲩ⳿ⲥⲃⲱ ⳿ⲉϧⲟⲩⲛ ⳿ⲉⲡⲉⲛⲅⲉⲛⲟⲥ ⲁϥ⳿ⲧϩⲉⲙⲕⲟ ⳿ⲛⲛⲉⲛⲓⲟϯ ⲉⲑⲣⲟⲩϩⲓⲟⲩ⳿Ⲓ ⳿ⲛⲛⲟⲩⲕⲟⲩϫⲓ ⳿ⲛ⳿ⲁⲗⲱⲟⲩ⳿ⲓ ⳿ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⳿ⲉ⳿ϣⲧⲉⲙⲧⲁⲛϧⲱⲟⲩ.
20 "In this time Moses was born, a divinely beautiful child, who was brought up for three months in his father’s house.
ⲕ̅⳿ⲛ⳿ϧⲣⲏⲓ ⲇⲉ ϧⲉⲛ ⲡⲓⲥⲏⲟⲩ ⳿ⲉⲧⲉ⳿ⲙⲙⲁⲩ ⲁⲩⲙⲓⲥⲓ ⳿ⲙⲘⲱ⳿ⲩⲥⲏⲥ ⲛⲉ ⲟⲩⲁⲥⲧⲓⲟⲥ ⲡⲉ ⳿ⲙⲪϯ ⲫⲁⲓ ⲁⲩϣⲁⲛⲟⲩϣϥ ⳿ⲛⲅ̅ ⳿ⲛ⳿ⲁⲃⲟⲧ ϧⲉⲛ ⳿ⲡⲏⲓ ⳿ⲙⲡⲉϥⲓⲱⲧ.
21 "When he was exposed, Pharaoh’s daughter took him up, and brought him up as her own son.
ⲕ̅ⲁ̅⳿ⲉⲧⲁⲩϩⲓⲧϥ ⲇⲉ ⳿ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲁⲥⲟⲗϥ ⳿ⲛϫⲉ ⳿ⲧϣⲉⲣⲓ ⳿ⲙⲫⲁⲣⲁⲱ.
22 "So Moses was educated in all the wisdom of the Egyptians, and was mighty in his words and works.
ⲕ̅ⲃ̅ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲁⲩ⳿ⲧⲥⲁⲃⲉ Ⲙⲱ⳿ⲩⲥⲏⲥ ⳿ⲉ⳿ⲥⲃⲱ ⲛⲓⲃⲉⲛ ⳿ⲛⲧⲉ ⲛⲓⲣⲉⲙ⳿ⲛⲬⲏⲙⲓ ⲛⲁϥϫⲟⲣ ⲡⲉ ϧⲉⲛ ⲛⲉϥⲥⲁϫⲓ ⲛⲉⲙ ⲛⲉϥ⳿ϩⲃⲏⲟⲩ⳿ⲓ.
23 "And when he was forty years old it came into his heart to visit his brothers, the children of Israel;
ⲕ̅ⲅ̅⳿ⲉⲧⲁⲩϫⲱⲕ ⲇⲉ ⳿ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⳿ⲛϫⲉ ⲙ̅ ⳿ⲛⲣⲟⲙⲡⲓ ⳿ⲛⲥⲏⲟⲩ ⲁⲥ⳿ⲓ ⳿ⲉϫⲉⲛ ⲡⲉϥϩⲏⲧ ⳿ⲉϫⲉⲙ⳿ⲡϣⲓⲛⲓ ⳿ⲛⲛⲉϥ⳿ⲥⲛⲏⲟⲩ ⲛⲉⲛϣⲏⲣⲓ ⳿ⲙⲠⲓ̅ⲥ̅ⲗ̅.
24 "and when he saw one of them wronged he wrought redress for the one overpowered, by striking down the Egyptian.
ⲕ̅ⲇ̅⳿ⲉⲧⲁϥⲛⲁⲩ ⲇⲉ ⲟⲩⲁⲓ ⲉⲩϭⲓ ⳿ⲙⲙⲟϥ ⳿ⲛϫⲟⲛⲥ ⲁϥϣⲉⲛϩⲏⲧ ⲁϥ⳿⳿ⲓⲣⲓ ⳿ⲛⲟⲩϭⲓ ⳿ⲙ⳿ⲡϣⲓϣ ⳿ⲙⲫⲏ⳿ⲉⲛⲁⲩ⳿ⲧϩⲉⲙⲕⲟ ⳿ⲙⲙⲟϥ ⲁϥϧⲱⲧⲉⲃ ⳿ⲙⲡⲓⲣⲉⲙ⳿ⲛⲭⲏⲙⲓ.
25 "(Now he supposed that his brothers would understand how God by his hand was bringing them deliverance; but they did not.)
ⲕ̅ⲉ̅⳿ⲉⲛⲁϥⲙⲉⲩⲓ ⲇⲉ ⲡⲉ ϫⲉ ⲥⲉⲛⲁⲕⲁϯ ⳿ⲛϫⲉ ⲛⲉϥ⳿ⲥⲛⲏⲟⲩ ϫⲉ Ⲫϯ ⲛⲁϯ ⳿ⲛⲟⲩⲟⲩϫⲁⲓ ⲛⲱⲟⲩ ⳿ⲉⲃⲟⲗϩⲓⲧⲟⲧϥ ⳿ⲛⲑⲱⲟⲩ ⲇⲉ ⳿ⲙⲡⲟⲩⲕⲁϯ.
26 "Next day he came upon two of them fighting, and tried to make peace between them. "‘Sirs,’ he said, ‘you are brothers. Why are you wronging each other?’
ⲕ̅ⲋ̅ⲡⲉϥⲣⲁⲥϯ ⲇⲉ ⲁϥⲟⲩⲟⲛϩϥ ⳿ⲉϩⲁⲛⲕⲉ ⲭⲱⲟⲩⲛⲓ ⲉⲩ⳿ⲙⲗⲁϧ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲛⲁϥϩⲱⲧⲡ ⳿ⲙⲙⲱⲟⲩ ⲡⲉ ⳿ⲉⲟⲩϩⲓⲣⲏⲛⲏ ⲉϥϫⲱ ⳿ⲙⲙⲟⲥ ϫⲉ ⳿ⲛⲑⲱⲧⲉⲛ ϩⲁⲛⲣⲱⲙⲓ ⳿ⲛ⳿ⲥⲛⲏⲟⲩ ⲉⲑⲃⲉ ⲟⲩ ⲧⲉⲧⲉⲛ ϭⲓ ⳿ⲛⲛⲉⲧⲉⲛ⳿ⲉⲣⲏⲟⲩ ⳿ⲛϫⲟⲛⲥ.
27 "But the man who was ill-treating his neighbor thrust him aside, saying, "‘Who made you a magistrate and ruler over us?
ⲕ̅ⲍ̅ⲫⲏ ⲇⲉ ⲉⲧϭⲓ ⳿ⲙⲡⲉϥ⳿ϣⲫⲏⲣ ⳿ⲛϫⲟⲛⲥ ⲁϥϫⲟⲗϥ ⳿ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲉϥϫⲱ ⳿ⲙⲙⲟⲥ ϫⲉ ⲛⲓⲙ ⲡⲉ ⳿ⲉⲧⲁϥⲭⲁⲕ ⳿ⲛⲁⲣⲭⲱⲛ ⲓⲉ ⲣⲉϥϯϩⲁⲡ ⳿ⲉ⳿ϩⲣⲏⲓ ⳿ⲉϫⲱⲛ.
28 "‘Do you want to kill me, as you killed the Egyptian yesterday?’
ⲕ̅ⲏ̅ⲙⲏⲉⲕⲟⲩⲱϣ ⳿ⲉϧⲟⲑⲃⲉⲧ ⳿ⲛⲑⲟⲕ ⳿ⲙ⳿ⲫⲣⲏϯ ⳿ⲉⲧⲁⲕϧⲱⲧⲉⲃ ⳿ⲙⲡⲓⲣⲉⲙ⳿ⲛⲬⲏⲙⲓ ⳿ⲛⲥⲁϥ.
29 "Alarmed at this question, Moses fled from the land, and went to live in the land of Midian. There he became the father of two sons.

30 "But at the end of forty years there appeared to him, in the desert of Mt. Sinai, an angel in a flame of fire, in a bush.

31 "When Moses saw it he was astonished at the sight. But when he drew near to look, the voice of the Lord said,

35 "This Moses whom they refused when they said, Who made you to be a ruler and a judge? that same Moses we find God sending as a ruler and a redeemer by the hand in the bush.

36 "This was he who brought them out, after he had shown signs and wonders in the wilderness, for forty years.

38 "This is the one who was in the congregation in the wilderness along with the angel who spoke to him in Mt. Sinai, and with our ancestors to whom he gave living words to hand down to us.

41 "And they made a calf in those days, and offered a sacrifice to this idol, and began to rejoice over what they had made with their hands.

ⲛ̅ⲇ̅ⲛⲁⲓ ⲇⲉ ⳿ⲉⲧⲁⲩⲥⲟⲑⲙⲟⲩ ⲛⲁⲩϣⲟⲡϣⲉⲡ ⳿ⲙⲡⲟⲩϩⲏⲧ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲛⲁⲩ⳿ϧⲣⲁϫⲣⲉϫ ⳿ⲛⲛⲟⲩⲛⲁϫϩⲓ ⳿ⲉ⳿ϩⲣⲏⲓ ⳿ⲉϫⲱϥ.
55 But he, full of the Holy Spirit, looked up stedfastly into heaven, and saw the glory of God, and Jesus standing at the right hand of God.
ⲛ̅ⲉ̅⳿ⲥⲧⲉⲫⲁⲛⲟⲥ ⲇⲉ ⲉϥⲙⲉϩ ⳿ⲉⲃⲟⲗϧⲉⲛ ⲡⲠⲓⲡ͞ⲛⲁ̅ ⲉⲑⲟⲩⲁⲃ ⲛⲉⲙ ⳿ⲫⲛⲁϩϯ ⲁϥⲥⲟⲙⲥ ⳿ⲉ⳿ϩⲣⲏⲓ ⳿ⲉ⳿ⲧⲫⲉ ⲁϥⲛⲁⲩ ⳿ⲉ⳿ⲡ⳿ⲱⲟⲩ ⳿ⲙⲪϯ ⲟⲩⲟϩ Ⲓⲏ̅ⲥ̅ ⲉϥ⳿ⲟϩⲓ ⳿ⲉⲣⲁⲧϥ ⲥⲁⲟⲩ⳿ⲓⲛⲁⲙ ⳿ⲙⲪϯ.
56 "Look, I see heaven open," he said, "And the Son of man standing at the right hand of God."
ⲛ̅ⲋ̅ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲡⲉϫⲁϥ ϫⲉ ϩⲏⲡⲡⲉ ϯⲛⲁⲩ ⳿ⲉⲛⲓⲫⲏⲟⲩ⳿ⲓ ⲉⲩⲟⲩⲏⲛ ⲟⲩⲟϩ Ⲡ̇ϣⲏⲣⲓ ⳿ⲙⲪ̇ⲣⲱⲙⲓ ⲉϥ⳿ⲟϩⲓ ⳿ⲉⲣⲁⲧϥ ⲥⲁⲟⲩ⳿ⲓⲛⲁⲙ ⳿ⲙⲪϯ.
57 With a loud outcry they stopped their ears, and rushed upon Stephen in a body,
ⲛ̅ⲍ̅ⲁⲩⲱϣ ⳿ⲉⲃⲟⲗ ⲧⲏⲣⲟⲩ ϧⲉⲛ ⲟⲩⲛⲓϣϯ ⳿ⲛ⳿ⲥⲙⲏ ⲁⲩ⳿ⲁⲙⲁϩⲓ ⳿ⲛⲛⲟⲩⲙⲁϣϫ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲁⲩϭⲟϫⲓ ⲉⲩⲥⲟⲡ ⲧⲏⲣⲟⲩ ⳿ⲉ⳿ϩⲣⲏⲓ ⳿ⲉϫⲱϥ.
58 dragged him outside the city, and stoned him, the witnesses throwing off their outer garments at the feet of a young man named Saul.
ⲛ̅ⲏ̅ⲁⲩϩⲓⲧϥ ⲥⲁⲃⲟⲗ ⳿ⲛϯⲃⲁⲕⲓ ⲁⲩϩⲓ⳿ⲱⲛⲓ ⳿ⲉϫⲱϥ ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲛⲓⲙⲉⲑⲣⲉⲩ ⲁⲩⲭⲱ ⳿ⲛⲛⲟⲩ⳿ϩⲃⲱⲥ ϧⲁⲣⲁⲧϥ ⳿ⲛⲟⲩϧⲉⲗϣ⳿⳿ⲓⲣⲓ ⳿ⲉⲡⲉϥⲣⲁⲛ ⲡⲉ ⲥⲁⲩⲗⲟⲥ.
59 So they stoned Stephen while he prayed, "Lord Jesus, receive my spirit."
ⲛ̅ⲑ̅ⲟⲩⲟϩ ⲁⲩϩⲓ⳿ⲱⲛⲓ ⳿ⲉϫⲉⲛ ⳿ⲥⲧⲉⲫⲁⲛⲟⲥ ⲉϥϯϩⲟ ⲉϥϫⲱ ⳿ⲙⲙⲟⲥ ϫⲉ Ⲡ⳪ Ⲓⲏ̅ⲥ̅ ϣⲉⲡ ⲡⲁⲡ͞ⲛⲁ̅ ⳿ⲉⲣⲟⲕ.
60 Then he knelt down and cried aloud, "Lord, lay not this sin to their charge."
