< Psalms 13 >

1 TO THE OVERSEER. A PSALM OF DAVID. Until when, O YHWH, Do You forget me forever? Until when do You hide Your face from me?
[For the Chief Musician. A Psalm by David.] How long, Jehovah? Will you forget me forever? How long will you hide your face from me?
2 Until when do I set counsels in my soul, [With] sorrow in my heart daily? Until when is my enemy exalted over me?
How long shall I take counsel in my soul, having sorrow in my heart every day? How long shall my enemy triumph over me?
3 Look attentively; Answer me, O YHWH, my God, Enlighten my eyes, lest I sleep in death,
Look, and answer me, Jehovah, my God. Give light to my eyes, lest I sleep in death;
4 Lest my enemy say, “I overcame him,” My adversaries rejoice when I am moved.
Lest my enemy say, "I have prevailed against him," and my adversaries rejoice when I fall.
5 And I have trusted in Your kindness, My heart rejoices in Your salvation.
But I trust in your loving kindness. My heart rejoices in your salvation.
6 I sing to YHWH, For He has conferred benefits on me!
I will sing to Jehovah, because he has dealt bountifully with me, and I will sing to the name of Jehovah Most High.
