Psalms 36

1 “To the chief musician, by the servant of the Lord, by David.” Saith vice itself to the wicked—so I feel it within my heart— that he should have no dread of God before his eyes.

A prevaricação do ímpio diz no intimo do seu coração: Não há temor de Deus perante os seus olhos.

2 For he flattereth himself in his own eyes [too much] to find out his iniquity to hate it.

Porque em seus olhos se lisongeia, até que a sua iniquidade se descubra ser detestável.

3 The words of his mouth are wickedness and deceit: he hath left off to be wise, to do good.

As palavras da sua boca são malícia e engano: deixou de entender e de fazer o bem.

4 He deviseth wickedness upon his couch; he placeth himself on a way that is not good; evil he despiseth not.

Projeta a malícia na sua cama; põe-se no caminho que não é bom: não aborrece o mal

5 O Lord, into the heavens reacheth thy kindness, thy faithfulness even into the skies.

A tua misericórdia, Senhor, está nos céus, e a tua fidelidade chega até às mais excelsas nuvens.

6 Thy righteousness is like the mountains of God; thy acts of justice like the great deep: man and beast dost thou ever help, O Lord.

A tua justiça é como as grandes montanhas; os teus juízos são um grande abismo; Senhor, tu conservas os homens e os animais.

7 How precious is thy kindness, O God! And the children of men that seek shelter under the shadow of thy wings, —

Quão preciosa é, ó Deus, a tua benignidade, pelo que os filhos dos homens se abrigam à sombra das tuas asas.

8 These will be abundantly satisfied with the fatness of thy house; and of the stream of thy delights wilt thou give them to drink.

Eles se fartarão da gordura da tua casa, e os farás beber da corrente das tuas delícias;

9 For with thee is the source of life: in thy light shall we see light.

Porque em ti está o manancial da vida; na tua luz veremos a luz.

10 Draw down continuously thy kindness unto those that acknowledge thee; and thy righteousness to the upright in heart.

Estende a tua benignidade sobre os que te conhecem, e a tua justiça sobre os retos de coração.

11 Let not come against me the foot of pride, and let not the hand of the wicked chase me off.

Não venha sobre mim o pé dos soberbos, e não me mova a mão dos ímpios.

12 There are fallen the workers of wickedness: they are thrust down, and shall not be able to rise.

Ali caem os que obram a iniquidade; cairão, e não se poderão levantar.
