Psalms 25

1 “Of David.” Unto thee, O Lord, do I lift up my soul.

Zu Dir, Jehovah, erhebe ich meine Seele.

2 O my God, in thee do I trust, let me not be ashamed, let not my enemies triumph over me.

Mein Gott, auf Dich vertraue ich, laß mich nicht beschämt werden, laß meine Feinde nicht über mich jauchzen.

3 Yea, none that wait on thee will be put to shame: let those be put to shame who deal treacherously without cause.

Auch werden nicht beschämt alle, die auf Dich hoffen; aber beschämt werden, die ohne Ursache treulos handeln.

4 Show me, O Lord, thy ways; teach me thy paths.

Laß mich erkennen, Jehovah, Deine Wege, lehre mich Deine Pfade!

5 Lead me in thy truth, and teach me; for thou art the God of my salvation: on thee do I wait all the day.

Laß mich einhertreten in Deiner Wahrheit, und lehre mich; denn Du bist meines Heiles Gott. Auf Dich hoffe ich den ganzen Tag.

6 Remember thy mercies, O Lord, and thy kindnesses; for they are from everlasting.

Gedenke Deiner Erbarmungen und Deiner Barmherzigkeit, o Jehovah, denn sie sind von Ewigkeit.

7 The sins of my youth and my transgressions do not remember: according to thy kindness bear thou me in remembrance, for the sake of thy goodness, O Lord.

Der Sünden meiner Jugend und meiner Übertretungen gedenke nicht; nach Deiner Barmherzigkeit gedenke Du mein um Deiner Güte willen, Jehovah.

8 Good and upright is the Lord: therefore he pointeth out to sinners the right way.

Gut und gerade ist Jehovah, darum weist auf den Weg Er die Sünder.

9 He guideth the meek in justice, and he teacheth the meek his way.

Er leitet die Elenden nach dem Recht und lehrt die Elenden Seinen Weg.

10 All the paths of the Lord are kindness and truth unto such as keep his covenant and his testimonies.

All die Pfade Jehovahs sind Barmherzigkeit und Wahrheit für die, so Seinen Bund und Seine Zeugnisse wahren.

11 For the sake of thy name, O Lord, pardon my iniquity: although it is great.

Um Deines Namens willen, Jehovah, vergib meiner Missetat; denn ihrer ist viel.

12 Who is that man that feareth the Lord? to him will he point out the way which he is to choose?

Wer ist der Mann, der Jehovah fürchtet? Ihm weiset Er den Weg, den er wählen soll.

13 His soul shall abide in happiness: and his seed shall inherit the land.

Im Guten herbergt Seine Seele und das Land besitzt Sein Same.

14 The secret counsel of the Lord is for those that fear him, and his covenant—to make it known to them.

Das Geheimnis Jehovahs ist für die, so Ihn fürchten, und Seinen Bund läßt Er sie wissen.

15 My eyes are ever [directed] toward the Lord; for he will draw out of the net my feet.

Meine Augen sind beständig auf Jehovah, denn aus dem Netze zieht Er meine Füße heraus.

16 Turn unto me, and be gracious unto me; for I am solitary and afflicted.

Wende Dich zu mir und sei mir gnädig; denn einsam bin ich und elend.

17 The distresses of my heart are enlarged: O bring thou me out of my afflictions.

Die Bedrängnisse meines Herzens erweitern sich, führe mich heraus aus meinen Ängsten.

18 Look on my misery and my trouble; and forgive all my sins.

Siehe an mein Elend und meine Mühsal, und verzeihe all meine Sünden.

19 Look at my enemies; for they are many; and they hate me with the hatred of violence.

Sieh meine Feinde, daß ihrer sind viele, und mit gewalttätigem Hasse hassen sie mich.

20 Oh, guard my soul; and deliver me: let me not be put to shame; for I put my trust in thee.

Behüte meine Seele und errette mich, daß ich nicht beschämt werde; denn auf Dich verlasse ich mich.

21 Let integrity and uprightness guard me; for I wait on thee.

Rechtschaffenheit und Redlichkeit bewahren mich; denn auf Dich hoffe ich.

22 Redeem, O God, Israel out of all his distresses.

O Gott, erlöse Israel aus allen seinen Drangsalen.
