Jeremiah 48
1 Against Moab. Thus hath said the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel, Woe unto Nebo! for it is wasted; made ashamed, captured is Kiryathayim; made ashamed is Misgab and dismayed.
Contra Moab assim diz o Senhor dos exércitos, Deus de Israel: Ai de Nebo, porque foi destruída: envergonhada está Kiriathaim, já é tomada: Misgab está envergonhada e espantada.
2 There is no more praise of Moab: in Cheshbon have they devised evil against it, “Come, and let us cut it off from being a nation.” Also thou Madmen shalt be ruined; after thee shall pursue the sword.
Já não há mais glóriação de Moab acerca de Hesbon; pensaram mal contra ela, dizendo: Vinde, e desarreiguemo-la, para que não seja mais povo; também tu, ó Madmen, serás desarreigada; a espada te irá seguindo
3 There is a voice of crying from Choronayim, destruction and a great breach.
Voz de grito de Horonaim: ruína e grande destruição.
4 Broken down is Moab: her little ones send forth a cry of distress.
Já está destruída Moab: seus filhinhos fizeram-se ouvir com gritos.
5 For the ascent of Luchith is ascended with weeping and tears; for on the descent of Choronayim the enemies have heard the cry of destruction.
Porque na subida de Luhith subirá choro sobre choro; porque na descida de Horonaim os adversários de Moab ouviram um lastimoso clamor.
6 Flee, save your life, and be ye like the solitary tree in the wilderness.
Fugi, salvai a vossa vida, e sereis como a tamargueira no deserto.
7 For, because thou hast trusted in thy works and in thy treasures, thou also shalt be conquered: and Kemosh shall go forth into exile, [with] his priests and his princes together.
Porque, por causa da tua confiança nas tuas obras, e nos teus tesouros, também tu serás tomada; e Camos sairá para o cativeiro, os seus sacerdotes e os seus príncipes juntos.
8 And the water shall come over every city, and no city shall escape: and lost shall be the valley, and destroyed shall be the plain, as the Lord hath said.
Porque virá o destruidor sobre cada uma das cidades, e nenhuma escapará, e perecerá o vale, e destruir-se-á a campina; porque o Senhor o disse.
9 Give wings unto Moab, that she may flee and get away; since her cities shall become desolate, without any to dwell therein.
Dai asas a Moab; porque voando sairá, e as suas cidades se tornarão em assolação, e ninguém morará nelas.
10 Cursed be he that doth the work of the Lord negligently, and cursed be he that withholdeth his sword from blood.
Maldito aquele que fizer a obra do Senhor fraudulosamente: e maldito aquele que veda a sua espada do sangue.
11 Moab was ever at ease from his youth, and he was resting on his lees, and was not emptied from vessel to vessel, and had not gone into exile: therefore had his taste remained in him, and his scent was not changed.
Moab esteve descançado desde a sua mocidade, e repousou nas suas fezes, e não foi trafegado de vaso em vaso, nem foi para o cativeiro; por isso permaneceu o seu sabor nele, e o seu cheiro não mudou.
12 Therefore, behold, days are coming, saith the Lord, when I will send unto him tappers, that shall tap him, and they shall empty his vessels, and dash in pieces their bottles.
Portanto, eis que dias veem, diz o Senhor, em que lhe enviarei andantes, que o farão andar a grandes passos; e despejarão os seus vasos, e romperão os seus odres.
13 And Moab shall be ashamed of Kemosh, as the house of Israel were made ashamed because of Beth-el their confidence.
E Moab terá vergonha de Camos, como se envergonhou a casa de Israel de bethel, sua confiança.
14 How can ye say, We are mighty and men of bravery for the war?
Como direis, pois: Valentes somos e homens fortes para a guerra?
15 Moab is wasted, and into his cities hath [the enemy] ascended, and his chosen young men are gone down to the slaughter, saith the King, the Lord of hosts is his name.
Já está destruído Moab, e subiu das suas cidades, e os seus mancebos escolhidos desceram à matança, diz o rei, cujo nome é o Senhor dos exércitos.
16 Near is the calamity of Moab to come, and his misfortune hasteneth fast.
Já é chegada a vinda da perdição de Moab; e apressura-se muito o seu mal
17 All ye that are about him bemoan him; and all ye that know his name: say, How is the strong staff broken, the beautiful stick!
Condoei-vos dele todos os que estais em redor dele, e todos os que sabeis o seu nome: dizei: Como se quebrou a vara forte, o cajado formoso?
18 Come down from thy glory, and sit in thirst, thou inhabitress, daughter of Dibon; for the waster of Moab cometh up against thee, he destroyeth thy strong-holds.
Desce da tua glória, e assenta-te em seco, ó moradora, filha de Dibon; porque já o destruidor de Moab subiu contra ti, e já desfez as tuas fortalezas.
19 Stand by the way, and look out, O inhabitress of 'Aro'er: ask him that fleeth, and her that escapeth, say, What hath been done?
Põe-te no caminho, e espia, ó moradora de Aroer: pergunta ao que vai fugindo; e à que escapou dize: Que sucedeu?
20 Moab hath been made ashamed; for it is broken down; wail, and cry aloud: tell ye it by the Arnon, that Moab is wasted,
Moab está envergonhado, porque foi quebrantado; uivai e gritai: anunciai em Arnon que já Moab está destruído.
21 And punishment is come over the land of the plain, over Cholon, and over Yahzah, and over Mepha'ath,
Também o juízo veio sobre a terra da campina: sobre Holon, e sobre Jaza, e sobre Mephaat,
22 And over Dibon, and over Nebo, and over Beth-diblathayim,
E sobre Dibon, e sobre Nebo, e sobre Beth-diblataim,
23 And over Kiryathayim, and over Beth-gamul, and over Beth-me'on,
E sobre Kiriathaim, e sobre Beth-gamul, e sobre Beth-meon,
24 And over Keriyoth, and over Bozrah, and over all the cities of the land of Moab, that are far and that are near.
E sobre Kerioth, e sobre Bozra; e até sobre todas as cidades da terra de Moab, as de longe e as de perto.
25 Hewn away is the horn of Moab, and his arm is broken, saith the Lord.
Já é cortado o corno de Moab, e é quebrantado o seu braço, diz o Senhor.
26 Make him drunken; for he magnified himself against the Lord: and Moab shall wallow in his vomit, and he also shall become [an object] of derision.
Embriagai-o, porque contra o Senhor se engrandeceu; e Moab se revolverá no seu vômito, e ele também será por escarneio.
27 For was not Israel a derision unto thee? or was he found among thieves? that whenever thou spokest of him, thou hadst to shake [thy head]?
Porque não te foi também Israel por escarneio? porventura foi achado entre ladrões, porque desde que falas dele te ris?
28 Leave the cities, and dwell on rocks, O ye that dwell in Moab; and be ye like the dove that maketh her nest in the sides of the mouth of rocky clefts.
Deixai as cidades, e habitai no rochedo, ó moradores de Moab; e sede como a pomba que se aninha nas extremidades da boca da caverna.
29 We have heard the pride of Moab, who is so exceedingly proud, his haughtiness, and his pride, and his arrogance, and the overbearingness of his heart.
Já ouvimos a soberba de Moab, que é soberbíssimo, como também a sua arrogância, e a sua soberba, e sua altivez e a altura do seu coração.
30 I will know, saith the Lord, his wrath, and how causeless it is: his liars have done what is not right.
Eu conheço, diz o Senhor, a sua indignação, porém assim não será: as suas mentiras não o farão assim.
31 Therefore will I wail for Moab, and for all Moab will I cry out; for the men of Kir-cheres shall people moan.
Por isso uivarei por Moab, e gritarei por todo o Moab: pelos homens de Kir-heres gemerão.
32 With the weeping of Ya'zer will I weep for thee, O vine of Sibmah; thy tendrils [once] passed over the sea, they reached as far as to the sea of Ya'zer: over thy summer-fruits and over thy vintage the waster is fallen.
Com o choro de Jaezar chorar-te-ei, ó vide de Sibma; já os teus ramos passaram o mar, e chegaram até ao mar de Jaezer; porém o destruidor caiu sobre os frutos do teu verão, e sobre a tua vindima.
33 And banished are joy and gladness from Carmel, and from the land of Moab; and I have caused the wine to cease from the wine-presses; none shall tread the press with the vintner's call; battle cry—nor vintner's call.
Tirou-se pois o folguedo e a alegria do campo fértil e da terra de Moab; porque fiz cessar o vinho dos lagares: já não pisarão uvas com júbilo: o júbilo não será júbilo.
34 From the loud cry of Cheshbon as far as El'aleh, even unto Yahaz, have they sent forth their voice, from Zo'ar even unto Choronayim, to the third 'Eglath; for the waters also of Nimrim shall become desolate.
Por causa do grito de Hesbon até Eleale e até Jahaz, deram a sua voz desde Zoar, até Horonaim, como bezerra de três anos; porque até as águas do Nimrim se tornarão em assolações.
35 Moreover will I cause to cease unto Moab, saith the Lord, him that offereth on the high-places, and him that burneth incense to his gods.
E farei cessar em Moab, diz o Senhor, quem sacrifique no alto, e queime incenso aos seus deuses.
36 Therefore shall my heart groan for Moab like flutes, and my heart shall groan like flutes for the men of Kir-cheres; for the cause that the remnant of the riches he had gotten are lost.
Por isso resoará o meu coração por Moab como frautas; também resoará o meu coração pelos homens de Kir-heres como frautas; porquanto a abundância que ajuntou se perdeu.
37 For every head is bald, and every beard is shorn: upon all the hands are cuttings, and upon the loins is sackcloth.
Porque toda a cabeça será calva, e toda a barba será diminuida; sobre todas as mãos há sarjaduras, e sobre os lombos sacos.
38 Upon all the roofs of Moab, and in her streets, there is everywhere lamentation; for I have broken Moab like a vessel which hath no value, saith the Lord.
Sobre todos os telhados de Moab e nas suas ruas haverá um pranto geral; porque quebrantei a Moab, como a um vaso que não agrada, diz o Senhor.
39 Oh, how is it broken down! wail! how hath Moab turned the back with shame! and Moab shall be a derision and a dismay to all those around him.
Como foi quebrantado? uivam: como virou Moab as costas e se envergonhou? assim será Moab objeto de escarneio e de espanto a todos os que estão em redor dele.
40 For thus hath said the Lord, Behold, as the eagle shall he fly, and he shall spread out his wings over Moab.
Porque assim diz o Senhor: Eis que voará como a águia, e estenderá as suas asas sobre Moab.
41 Captured are the fortresses, and the strong-holds are conquered: and the heart of the mighty men of Moab shall be on that day as the heart of a woman in her pangs.
Já são tomadas as cidades, e ocupadas as fortalezas: e será o coração dos valentes de Moab naquele dia como o coração da mulher que está com dores de parto
42 And Moab shall be destroyed from being a people; because it hath magnified himself against the Lord.
E Moab será destruído, para que não seja povo; porque se engrandeceu contra o Senhor.
43 Terror, and the pit, and the snare, shall be upon thee, O inhabitant of Moab, saith the Lord.
Temor, e cova, e laço, veem sobre ti, ó morador de Moab, diz o Senhor.
44 He that fleeth from the terror shall fall into the pit; and he that getteth up out of the pit shall be caught in the snare; for I will bring upon it, even upon Moab, the year of their visitation, saith the Lord.
O que fugir do temor cairá na cova, e o que subir da cova ficará preso no laço; porque trarei sobre ele, sobre Moab, o ano da sua visitação, diz o Senhor.
45 Under the shadow of Cheshbon stand still, deprived of strength, those that flee; but a fire cometh forth out of Cheshbon, and a flame from the midst of Sichon, and it devoureth the corner of Moab, and the crown of the head of the children of vaunting.
Os que fugiam da força pararam à sombra de Hesbon; porém fogo saiu de Hesbon, e a labareda do meio de Sihon, e devorou o canto de Moab e a mioleira dos filhos de arroido.
46 Woe unto thee, O Moab! lost is the people of Kemosh; for thy sons are taken captives, and thy daughters into captivity.
Ai de ti, Moab; já pereceu o povo de Camos; porque teus filhos foram levados em cativeiro, como também tuas filhas em captividade.
47 Yet will I bring back again the captivity of Moab in the end of days, saith the Lord. Thus far is the punishment of Moab.
Porém farei voltar os cativos de Moab no último dos dias, diz o Senhor. Até aqui o juízo de Moab.
