Jeremiah 32
1 The word that came to Jeremiah from the Lord in the tenth year of Zedekiah the king of Judah, which is the eighteenth year of Nebuchadrezzar.
A palavra que veio a Jeremias da parte do Senhor, no ano décimo de Zedekias, rei de Judá; este ano foi o ano dezoito de Nabucodonozor
2 And at that time the king of Babylon's army was besieging Jerusalem; and Jeremiah the prophet was shut up in the court of the prison, which was in the house of the king of Judah;
(Cercava, porém, então o exército do rei de Babilônia a Jerusalém; e Jeremias, o profeta, estava encerrado no pátio da guarda que estava na casa do rei de Judá;
3 Because Zedekiah the king of Judah had shut him up, saying, Wherefore art thou prophesying, saying, Thus hath said the Lord, Behold, I will give up this city into the hand of the king of Babylon, and he shall capture it.
Porque Zedekias, rei de Judá, o tinha encerrado, dizendo: Porque profetizas tu, dizendo: Assim diz o Senhor: Eis que entrego esta cidade na mão do rei de Babilônia, e ele a tomará;
4 And Zedekiah the king of Judah shall not escape out of the hand of the Chaldeans, because he shall surely be given up into the hand of the king of Babylon, and his mouth shall speak to his mouth, and his eyes shall behold his eyes;
E Zedekias, rei de Judá, não escapará das mãos dos caldeus; mas certamente será entregue na mão do rei de Babilônia, e com ele falará boca a boca, e os seus olhos verão os dele
5 And to Babylon shall he lead Zedekiah, and there shall he remain until I think of him, saith the Lord: though ye fight with the Chaldeans, ye shall not prosper.
E levará Zedekias para Babilônia, e ali estará, até que eu visite, diz o Senhor, e, ainda que pelejeis contra os caldeus, não ganhareis?)
6 And Jeremiah said, The word of the Lord came unto me, saying,
Disse pois Jeremias: veio a mim a palavra do Senhor, dizendo:
7 Behold, Chanamel the son of Shallum thy uncle is coming unto thee, saying, Buy for thyself my field that is in 'Anathoth; for unto thee belongeth the right of redemption to buy it.
Eis que Hanameel, filho de Sallum, teu tio, virá a ti, dizendo: Compra para ti a minha herdade que está em Anathot, pois tens o direito de resgate para compra-la.
8 And there came to me Chanamel my uncle's son according to the word of the Lord into the court of the prison, and he said unto me, Buy, I pray thee, my field, that is in 'Anathoth, which is in the land of Benjamin; for to thee belongeth the right of inheritance, and to thee belongeth the redemption, buy it for thyself: then did I know that it was the word of the Lord.
Veio pois a mim Hanameel, filho de meu tio, segundo a palavra do Senhor, ao pátio da guarda, e me disse: Compra agora a minha herdade que está em Anathot, que está na terra de Benjamin; porque tens o direito hereditário, e tens o resgate; compra-a para ti. Então entendi que isto era a palavra do Senhor.
9 And I bought the field from Chanamel my uncle's son, that is in 'Anathoth; and I weighed out unto him the money, seven shekels, and ten pieces of silver.
Comprei pois a herdade de Hanameel, filho de meu tio, a qual está em Anathot; e pesei-lhe o dinheiro, dezesete siclos de prata.
10 And I wrote it in a deed, and sealed it, and had it certified by witnesses, and weighed the money in balances.
E subscrevi o auto, e selei-o, e o fiz testificar por testemunhas: e pesei-lhe o dinheiro numa balança.
11 And I took the deed of the purchase, both that which was sealed, according to the law and custom, and that which was open;
E tomei o auto da compra, tanto o selado, conforme o mandado e os estatutos, como o aberto.
12 And I gave the deed of the purchase unto Baruch the son of Neriyah, the son of Machseyah, before the eyes of Chanamel my kinsman, and before the eyes of the witnesses that had signed the deed of the purchase, before the eyes of all the Jews that were sitting in the court of the prison.
E dei o auto da compra a Baruch, filho de Nerias, filho de Maaseias, perante os olhos de Hanameel, filho de meu tio, e perante os olhos das testemunhas, que subscreveram o conhecimento da compra, e perante os olhos de todos os judeus que se assentavam no pátio da guarda.
13 And I charged Baruch before their eyes, saying,
E dei ordem a Baruch, perante os olhos deles, dizendo:
14 Thus hath said the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel, Take these deeds, this deed of the purchase, both the sealed, and this open deed, and place them in an earthen vessel, in order that they may last many days.
Assim diz o Senhor dos exércitos, o Deus de Israel: Toma estes autos, este auto de compra, tanto o selado, como o aberto, e mete-os num vaso de barro, para que se possam conservar muitos dias,
15 For thus hath said the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel, Yet again shall there be bought houses and fields and vineyards in this land.
Porque assim diz o Senhor dos exércitos, o Deus de Israel: Ainda se comprarão casas, e campos, e vinhas nesta terra.
16 And I prayed to the Lord after I had delivered the deed of the purchase unto Baruch the son of Neriyah, saying,
E depois que dei o auto da compra a Baruch, filho de Nerias, orei ao Senhor, dizendo:
17 Ah Lord Eternal! behold, it is thou that hast made the heavens and the earth by thy great power and by thy outstretched arm; nothing is too wonderful for thee;
Ah Senhor Jehovah! eis que tu fizeste os céus e a terra com a tua grande potência, e com o teu braço estendido: não te é maravilhosa coisa alguma:
18 Thou exercisest kindness unto the thousandth [generation], and recompensest the iniquity of the fathers unto the bosom of their children after them; [thou art] the Great, the Mighty God, the Lord of hosts is his name;
Que usas de benignidade com milhares, e rendes a maldade dos pais no seio dos filhos depois deles: o grande, o poderoso Deus cujo nome é o Senhor dos exércitos:
19 Great in counsel, and mighty in execution: [thou] whose eyes are open over all the ways of the sons of man, to give unto every one according to his ways, and according to the fruit of his doings;
Grande em conselho, e magnífico em feito; porque os teus olhos estão abertos sobre todos os caminhos dos filhos dos homens, para dar a cada um segundo os seus caminhos e segundo o fruto das suas obras:
20 Who hast displayed signs and wonders in the land of Egypt, up to this day, and in Israel, and among other men; and thou hast made thyself a name, as it is at this day;
Que puseste sinais e maravilhas na terra do Egito até ao dia de hoje, tanto em Israel, como entre os outros homens, e te fizeste um nome, qual tu tens neste dia.
21 And thou didst bring forth thy people Israel out of the land of Egypt with signs, and with wonders, and with a strong hand, and with an outstretched arm, and with great terror;
E tiraste o teu povo Israel da terra do Egito, com sinais e com maravilhas, e com mão forte, e com braço estendido, e com grande espanto,
22 And thou gavest them this land, which thou hadst sworn to their fathers to give unto them, a land flowing with milk and honey;
E lhes deste esta terra, que juraste a seus pais que lhes havias de dar: terra que mana leite e mel.
23 And they came in, and took possession of it; but they hearkened not to thy voice, and in thy law they did not walk; all that thou hadst commanded them to do they did not do: and thou hast therefore caused all this evil to befall them.
E entraram nela, e a possuiram, porém não obedeceram à tua voz, nem andaram na tua lei; tudo o que lhes mandaste que fizessem, eles não o fizeram; pelo que fizeste que lhes sucedesse todo este mal
24 Behold the mounds reach unto the city to capture it; and the city is given up into the hand of the Chaldeans, who fight against it, because of the sword, and of the famine, and of the pestilence: and what thou hast spoken is come to pass; and, behold, thou seest it.
Eis aqui os valados! já vieram contra a cidade para toma-la, e a cidade está dada na mão dos caldeus, que pelejam contra ela, por causa da espada, e da fome, e da pestilência; e o que falaste se ez, e eis aqui o estás presenciando.
25 And yet thou hast said unto me, O Lord Eternal, Buy for thyself the field for money, and have it certified by witnesses: while the city is given up into the hand of the Chaldeans.
Contudo tu me disseste, Senhor Jehovah: Compra para ti o campo por dinheiro, e faze que o testifiquem testemunhas, posto que a cidade esteja já dada na mão dos caldeus.
26 Then came the word of the Lord unto Jeremiah, saying,
Então veio a palavra do Senhor a Jeremias, dizendo:
27 Behold, I am the Lord, the God of all flesh: shall any thing be too wonderful for me?
Eis que eu sou o Senhor Deus de toda a carne: porventura ser-me-ia coisa alguma maravilhosa?
28 Therefore thus hath said the Lord, Behold, I will give up this city into the hand of the Chaldeans, and into the hand of Nebuchadrezzar the king of Babylon, and he shall capture it:
Portanto assim diz o Senhor: Eis que eu entrego esta cidade na mão dos caldeus, e na mão de Nabucodonozor, rei de Babilônia, e toma-la-á.
29 And the Chaldeans, that fight against this city, shall come and set this city on fire, and burn it, with the houses upon the roofs of which they have offered incense unto Ba'al, and have poured out drink-offerings unto other gods, in order to provoke me to anger;
E os caldeus, que pelejam contra esta cidade, entrarão nela, porão fogo a esta cidade, e queimarão juntamente as casas sobre cujos terraços queimarão incenso a Baal e oferecerão libações a outros deuses, para me provocarem à ira.
30 For the children of Israel and the children of Judah have been doing only what is evil in my eyes from their youth; for the children of Israel have been only provoking me to anger with the work of their hands, saith the Lord.
Porque os filhos de Israel e os filhos de Judá não fizeram senão mal aos meus olhos, desde a sua mocidade; porque os filhos de Israel somente me provocaram à ira com as obras das suas mãos, diz o Senhor.
31 For to excite my anger and my fury hath been unto me this city from the day that they built it, even until this day; so that I will remove it from before my presence:
Porque para a minha ira e para o meu furor me foi esta cidade, desde o dia em que a edificaram, e até ao dia de hoje, para que a tirasse da minha face;
32 Because of all the wickedness of the children of Israel and of the children of Judah, which they have done to provoke me to anger, they, their kings, their princes, their priests, and their prophets, and the men of Judah, and the inhabitants of Jerusalem;
Por toda a maldade dos filhos de Israel, e dos filhos de Judá, que fizeram, para me provocarem à ira, assim ele como os seus reis, os seus príncipes, os seus sacerdotes, e os seus profetas, como também os homens de Judá e os moradores de Jerusalém.
33 And they turned unto me the back, and not the face: though [my prophets] taught them, rising up early and teaching; yet they hearkened not to receive instruction.
E me viraram as costas, e não o rosto: ainda que eu os ensinava, madrugando e ensinando-os, contudo eles não ouviram, para receberem o ensino.
34 But they placed their abominations in the house, which is called by my name, to defile it.
Antes puseram as suas abominações na casa que se chama pelo meu nome, para a profanarem.
35 And they built the high-places of Ba'al, which are in the valley of the son of Hinnom, to cause their sons and their daughters to pass through [the fire] unto Molech; which I had not commanded them, and which had not come into my mind, to practise this abomination, in order to mislead Judah to sin.
E edificaram os altos de Baal, que estão no vale do filho de Hinnom, para fazerem que seus filhos e suas filhas passassem pelo fogo a Moloch; o que nunca lhes ordenei, nem subiu ao meu coração, que fizessem tal abominação; para fazerem pecar a Judá.
36 But now, therefore, thus hath said the Lord, the God of Israel, concerning this city, whereof ye say, it is given up into the hand of the king of Babylon through the sword, and through the famine, and through the pestilence:
E por isso agora assim diz o Senhor o Deus de Israel, acerca desta cidade, da qual vós dizeis: Já está dada na mão do rei de Babilônia, à espada, e à fome, e à pestilência:
37 Behold, I will gather them out of all the countries, whither I have driven them in my anger, and in my fury, and in great wrath; and I will bring them back again unto this place, and I will cause them to dwell in safety;
Eis que eu os congregarei de todas as terras, para onde os houver lançado na minha ira, e no meu furor, e na minha grande indignação; e os tornarei a trazer a este lugar, e farei que habitem nele seguramente.
38 And they shall be unto me for a people, and I will be unto them for a God:
E me serão por povo, e eu lhes serei por Deus.
39 And I will give them one heart, and one manner, to fear me at all times, that it may be well with them, and with their children after them;
E lhes darei um mesmo coração, e um mesmo caminho, para que me temam todos os dias, para seu bem, e de seus filhos, depois deles.
40 And I will make with them an everlasting covenant, that I will not turn away from them, to do them good on my part; and my fear will I place in their heart, so that they may not depart from me.
E farei com eles um concerto eterno, que não tornarei de após eles, para fazer-lhes bem; e porei o meu temor no seu coração, para que nunca se apartem de mim
41 And I will be glad over them to do them good; and I will plant them in this land in truth, with all my heart and with all my soul.
E alegrar-me-ei deles, fazendo-lhes bem; e os plantarei nesta terra certamente, com todo o meu coração e com toda a minha alma.
42 For thus hath said the Lord, Just as I have brought upon this people all this great evil, so will I bring upon them all the good that I speak concerning them.
Porque assim diz o Senhor: Como eu trouxe sobre este povo todo este grande mal, assim eu trarei sobre ele todo o bem que eu falo a respeito dele.
43 And the field shall yet be bought in this land, whereof ye say, It is desolate without man or beast, it is given up into the hand of the Chaldeans.
E comprar-se-ão campos nesta terra, da qual vós dizeis: Já está tão deserta, que não há nela nem homem nem animal; está dada na mão dos caldeus.
44 Men shall buy fields for money, and write it in deeds, and seal it, and certify it by witnesses, in the land of Benjamin, and in the environs of Jerusalem, and in the cities of Judah, and in the cities of the mountain, and in the cities of the lowlands, and in the cities of the south; for I will cause their captivity to return, saith the Lord.
Comprarão campos por dinheiro, e subscreverão os autos, e os selarão, e farão que testifiquem testemunhas na terra de Benjamin, e nos contornos de Jerusalém, e nas cidades de Judá, e nas cidades das montanhas, e nas cidades das planícies, e nas cidades do sul; porque os farei voltar do seu cativeiro, diz o Senhor.
