Jeremiah 17
1 The sin of Judah is written down with a pen of iron, with the point of a diamond: it is engraved upon the table of their heart, and on the horns of your altars.
O pecado de Judá está escrito com um ponteiro de ferro, com ponta de diamante, gravado na táboa do seu coração e nos cornos dos vossos altares.
2 Like their remembrance of their children, so are [to them] their altars and their groves by [every] green tree upon the high hills.
Como também seus filhos se lembram dos seus altares, e dos seus bosques junto às árvores verdes, sobre os altos outeiros.
3 O my mountain in the field, thy substance, all thy treasures will I give up for spoil, thy high-places [reared] with sin, throughout all thy borders.
A minha montanha juntamente com o campo, a tua riqueza e todos os teus tesouros, darei por preza, como também os teus altos, pelo pecado, em todos os teus termos.
4 And thou shalt be cast out, yea through thy own guilt, from thy heritage which I have given thee; and I will cause thee to serve thy enemies in a land which thou knowest not; for a fire have ye kindled in my anger, for ever shall it burn.
Assim por ti mesmo te deixarás da tua herança que te dei, e far-te-ei servir os teus inimigos, na terra que não conheces; porque o fogo que acendeste na minha ira arderá para sempre.
5 Thus hath said the Lord, Cursed is the man that trusteth in man, and placeth on flesh his dependence, while from the Lord his heart departeth.
Assim diz o Senhor: Maldito o varão que confia no homem, e põe a carne por seu braço, e cujo coração se aparta do Senhor!
6 And he shall be like a lonely tree in the desert, which feeleth not when the good cometh; but abideth in the parched places in the wilderness, in a salty land which cannot be inhabited.
Porque será como a tamargueira no deserto, que não sente quando vem o bem; antes morará nos lugares secos do deserto, na terra salgada e inabitável.
7 Blessed is the man that trusteth in the Lord, and the Lord will be his trust.
Porém bendito o varão que confia no Senhor, e cuja confiança é o Senhor.
8 And he shall be like a tree that is planted by the waters, and by a stream spreadeth out its roots, which feeleth not when heat cometh, but its leaf remaineth green; and in a year of drought it is undisturbed by care, and ceaseth not from yielding fruit.
Porque será como a árvore plantada junto às águas, que estende as suas raízes para o ribeiro, e não sente quando vem o calor, e a sua folha fica verde, e no ano de sequidão não se afadiga, nem deixa de dar fruto.
9 Deceitful is the heart above all things, and sick: who can know it?
Enganoso é o coração, mais do que todas as coisas, e perverso: quem o conhecerá?
10 I the Lord search the heart, probe the reins: yea, to give unto every man according to his ways, according to the fruit of his deeds.
Eu, o Senhor, esquadrinho o coração e experimento os rins: e isto para dar a cada um segundo os seus caminhos e segundo o fruto das suas ações.
11 As a cuckoo that sitteth on eggs which he hath not laid, so is he that get the riches, and not by right; in the midst of his days shall he leave them, and at his end shall be called wicked.
Como a perdiz que ajunta ovos que não choca, assim é o que ajunta riquezas, mas não com direito; no meio de seus dias as deixará, e no seu fim se fará um insensato.
12 A throne of glory, exalted from the beginning, is the place of our sanctuary!
Um trono de glória e altura, desde o princípio, é o lugar do nosso santuário.
13 Hope of Israel, O Lord, all that forsake thee shall be made ashamed, and the backsliders among me shall be written down on the earth; because they have forsaken the fountain of living waters, the Lord.
Ó Senhor, Esperança de Israel! todos aqueles que te deixam serão envergonhados e os que se apartam de mim serão escritos sobre a terra; porque deixam ao Senhor, a fonte das águas vivas.
14 Heal me, O Lord, and I shall be healed: save me, and I shall be saved; for my praise art thou.
Sara-me, Senhor, e sararei: salva-me, e serei salvo; porque tu és o meu louvor.
15 Behold, they say unto me, Where is the word of the Lord? let it come now.
Eis que eles me dizem: Onde está a palavra do Senhor? venha agora.
16 As for me, I have not hastened to be a shepherd to follow thee; and the woeful day have I not longed for; thou knowest it: what came out of my lips was known before thee.
Porém eu não me apressei em ser o pastor após ti; nem tão pouco desejei o dia mortal, tu o sabes; o que saiu dos meus lábios está diante de tua face
17 Be not a terror unto me: thou art my protection on the day of evil.
Não me sejas por espanto: meu refúgio és tu no dia do mal.
18 Let those be made ashamed that persecute me, but let not me be made ashamed: let them be dismayed, but let me not be dismayed: bring upon them the day of evil, and strike them with a double breach.
Envergonhem-se os que me perseguem, e não me envergonhe eu; assombrem-se eles, e não me assombre eu: traze sobre eles o dia do mal, e com dobrada esmigalhadura os esmigalha.
19 Thus said the Lord unto me, Go and stand in the gate of the children of the people, whereby the kings of Judah usually enter, and by which they usually go out, and in all the gates of Jerusalem;
Assim me disse o Senhor: vai, e põe-te à porta dos filhos do povo, pela qual entram os reis de Judá, e pela qual saem; como também a todas as portas de Jerusalém.
20 And say unto them, Hear ye the word of the Lord, ye kings of Judah, and all Judah, and all inhabitants of Jerusalem, that enter in by these gates.
E dize-lhes: Ouvi a palavra do Senhor, vós, reis de Judá e todo o Judá, e todos os moradores de Jerusalém, que entrais por estas portas.
21 Thus hath said the Lord, Take heed for your souls, and bear no burden on the sabbath-day, nor bring it in through the gates of Jerusalem;
Assim diz o Senhor: guardai as vossas almas, e não tragais cargas no dia de sábado, nem as introduzais pelas portas de Jerusalém:
22 Nor shall you carry forth a burden out of your houses on the sabbath-day, and no manner of work shall ye do, but hallow ye the sabbath-day, as I have commanded your fathers;
Nem tireis cargas de vossas casas no dia de sábado, nem façais obra alguma: antes santificai o dia de sábado, como eu dei ordem a vossos pais.
23 But they hearkened not, and inclined not their ear; and they made their neck stiff, so as not to hearken, and not to receive instruction.
Porém não deram ouvidos, nem inclinaram as suas orelhas; mas endureceram a sua cerviz, para não ouvirem, e para não receberem correção.
24 And it shall come to pass, if ye will diligently hearken unto me, saith the Lord, so as to bring in no burden through the gates of this city on the sabbath-day, and to hallow the sabbath-day, so as to do no work thereon:
Será pois que, se diligentemente me ouvirdes, diz o Senhor, não introduzindo cargas pelas portas desta cidade no dia de sábado, e santificardes o dia de sábado, não fazendo nele obra alguma:
25 Then shall there enter through the gates of this city kings and princes sitting upon the throne of David, riding in chariots and on horses, they, and their princes, the men of Judah, and the inhabitants of Jerusalem; and this city shall be inhabited for ever.
Então entrarão pelas portas desta cidade reis e príncipes, assentados sobre o trono de David, andando em carros e montados em cavalos, assim eles como os seus príncipes, os homens de Judá, e os moradores de Jerusalém: e esta cidade será para sempre habitada.
26 And there shall come from the cities of Judah, and from the environs of Jerusalem, and from the land of Benjamin, and from the lowlands, and from the mountain, and from the south, those that bring burnt-offerings, and sacrifices, and meat-offerings, and frankincense, and those that bring thanksgiving-offerings, unto the house of the Lord.
E virão das cidades de Judá, e dos contornos de Jerusalém, e da terra de Benjamin, e das planícies, e das montanhas, e do sul, trazendo holocaustos, e sacrifícios, e ofertas de manjares, e incenso, como também trazendo sacrifícios de louvores à casa do Senhor.
27 But if ye will not hearken unto me to hallow the sabbath-day, and not to bear a burden, and to enter in at the gates of Jerusalem on the sabbath-day: then will I kindle a fire in its gates, and it shall devour the palaces of Jerusalem, and it shall not be quenched.
Porém, se não me derdes ouvidos, para santificardes o dia de sábado, e para não trazerdes carga alguma, quando entrardes pelas portas de Jerusalém no dia de sábado, então acenderei fogo nas suas portas, que consumirá os palácios de Jerusalém, e não se apagará.
