Jeremiah 17
1 The sin of Judah is written down with a pen of iron, with the point of a diamond: it is engraved upon the table of their heart, and on the horns of your altars.
Grzech Judy jest zapisany żelaznym rylcem, ostrzem diamentu jest wyryty na tablicy ich serca i na rogach waszych ołtarzy;
2 Like their remembrance of their children, so are [to them] their altars and their groves by [every] green tree upon the high hills.
Gdy ich synowie wspominają ich ołtarze i gaje pod drzewami zielonymi, na wysokich pagórkach.
3 O my mountain in the field, thy substance, all thy treasures will I give up for spoil, thy high-places [reared] with sin, throughout all thy borders.
[Moja] góro na polu! Twoje bogactwo [i] wszystkie twoje skarby wydam na łup z powodu grzechu twoich wyżyn we wszystkich twoich granicach.
4 And thou shalt be cast out, yea through thy own guilt, from thy heritage which I have given thee; and I will cause thee to serve thy enemies in a land which thou knowest not; for a fire have ye kindled in my anger, for ever shall it burn.
A [ty] opuścisz swoje dziedzictwo, które ci dałem. I sprawię, że będziesz służył swoim wrogom w ziemi, której nie znasz, bo rozpaliliście ogień mojej zapalczywości, [który] będzie płonąć na wieki.
5 Thus hath said the Lord, Cursed is the man that trusteth in man, and placeth on flesh his dependence, while from the Lord his heart departeth.
Tak mówi PAN: Przeklęty człowiek, który ufa człowiekowi i który czyni ciało swoim ramieniem, a od PANA odstępuje jego serce.
6 And he shall be like a lonely tree in the desert, which feeleth not when the good cometh; but abideth in the parched places in the wilderness, in a salty land which cannot be inhabited.
Będzie bowiem jak wrzos na pustyni, który nie czuje, gdy przychodzi coś dobrego, ale wybiera suche miejsca na pustyni, w ziemi słonej i bezludnej.
7 Blessed is the man that trusteth in the Lord, and the Lord will be his trust.
Błogosławiony człowiek, który ufa PANU, a którego nadzieją jest PAN.
8 And he shall be like a tree that is planted by the waters, and by a stream spreadeth out its roots, which feeleth not when heat cometh, but its leaf remaineth green; and in a year of drought it is undisturbed by care, and ceaseth not from yielding fruit.
Będzie bowiem jak drzewo zasadzone nad wodami, które swoje korzenie zapuszcza nad strumieniem i nie zauważa, gdy upał przychodzi, ale jego liść pozostaje zielony. W roku suszy nie troszczy się i nie przestaje przynosić owocu.
9 Deceitful is the heart above all things, and sick: who can know it?
Najzdradliwsze ponad wszystko [jest] serce i najbardziej przewrotne. Któż zdoła je poznać?
10 I the Lord search the heart, probe the reins: yea, to give unto every man according to his ways, according to the fruit of his deeds.
Ja, PAN, badam serca i doświadczam nerki, aby oddać każdemu według jego dróg i według owocu jego uczynków.
11 As a cuckoo that sitteth on eggs which he hath not laid, so is he that get the riches, and not by right; in the midst of his days shall he leave them, and at his end shall be called wicked.
[Jak] kuropatwa gromadzi [swoje jajka], ale ich nie wysiaduje, [tak] kto zbiera bogactwa niesprawiedliwie, zostawi je w połowie swoich dni, a u swego kresu okaże się głupcem;
12 A throne of glory, exalted from the beginning, is the place of our sanctuary!
Wzniosłym tronem chwały od początku [jest] miejsce naszej świątyni.
13 Hope of Israel, O Lord, all that forsake thee shall be made ashamed, and the backsliders among me shall be written down on the earth; because they have forsaken the fountain of living waters, the Lord.
PANIE, nadziejo Izraela! Wszyscy, którzy cię opuszczają, będą zawstydzeni; ci, którzy odstępują ode mnie, będą zapisani na ziemi, gdyż opuścili PANA, źródło żywych wód.
14 Heal me, O Lord, and I shall be healed: save me, and I shall be saved; for my praise art thou.
Uzdrów mnie, PANIE, a będę uzdrowiony; zbaw mnie, a będę zbawiony. Ty bowiem jesteś moją chwałą.
15 Behold, they say unto me, Where is the word of the Lord? let it come now.
Oto oni mówią do mnie: Gdzie jest słowo PANA? Niech się już spełni!
16 As for me, I have not hastened to be a shepherd to follow thee; and the woeful day have I not longed for; thou knowest it: what came out of my lips was known before thee.
Ale ja nie zabiegałem, aby być twoim pasterzem ani nie pragnąłem dnia boleści; ty wiesz: cokolwiek wyszło z moich ust, jest przed twoim obliczem.
17 Be not a terror unto me: thou art my protection on the day of evil.
Nie bądź dla mnie postrachem. Ty jesteś moją nadzieją w dniu utrapienia.
18 Let those be made ashamed that persecute me, but let not me be made ashamed: let them be dismayed, but let me not be dismayed: bring upon them the day of evil, and strike them with a double breach.
Niech będą zawstydzeni ci, którzy mnie prześladują, lecz niech ja nie będę zawstydzony. Niech się oni lękają, lecz niech ja się nie lękam. Sprowadź na nich dzień utrapienia i zniszcz ich podwójnym zniszczeniem.
19 Thus said the Lord unto me, Go and stand in the gate of the children of the people, whereby the kings of Judah usually enter, and by which they usually go out, and in all the gates of Jerusalem;
Tak PAN powiedział do mnie: Idź i stań w bramie synów [tego] ludu, którą wchodzą i wychodzą królowie Judy, oraz we wszystkich bramach Jerozolimy;
20 And say unto them, Hear ye the word of the Lord, ye kings of Judah, and all Judah, and all inhabitants of Jerusalem, that enter in by these gates.
I powiedz im: Słuchajcie słowa PANA, królowie Judy, cała Judo i wszyscy mieszkańcy Jerozolimy, którzy wchodzicie przez te bramy!
21 Thus hath said the Lord, Take heed for your souls, and bear no burden on the sabbath-day, nor bring it in through the gates of Jerusalem;
Tak mówi PAN: Strzeżcie pilnie waszych dusz i nie noście [żadnego] ciężaru w dzień szabatu ani nie wnoście [tego] przez bramy Jerozolimy;
22 Nor shall you carry forth a burden out of your houses on the sabbath-day, and no manner of work shall ye do, but hallow ye the sabbath-day, as I have commanded your fathers;
Nie wynoście ciężarów z waszych domów w dzień szabatu ani nie wykonujcie żadnej pracy, ale święćcie dzień szabatu, jak nakazałem waszym ojcom.
23 But they hearkened not, and inclined not their ear; and they made their neck stiff, so as not to hearken, and not to receive instruction.
Oni jednak nie usłuchali ani nie nakłonili swego ucha, lecz zatwardzili swój kark, aby nie słuchać i nie przyjąć pouczenia.
24 And it shall come to pass, if ye will diligently hearken unto me, saith the Lord, so as to bring in no burden through the gates of this city on the sabbath-day, and to hallow the sabbath-day, so as to do no work thereon:
A jeśli będziecie mnie pilnie słuchać, mówi PAN, i nie wnosić ciężarów przez bramy tego miasta w dzień szabatu, ale będziecie święcić dzień szabatu, nie wykonując w nim żadnej pracy;
25 Then shall there enter through the gates of this city kings and princes sitting upon the throne of David, riding in chariots and on horses, they, and their princes, the men of Judah, and the inhabitants of Jerusalem; and this city shall be inhabited for ever.
Wtedy przez bramy tego miasta będą wchodzić królowie i książęta zasiadający na tronie Dawida, będą wjeżdżać na rydwanach i na koniach, oni, ich książęta, Judejczycy i mieszkańcy Jerozolimy, a to miasto będzie trwać na wieki.
26 And there shall come from the cities of Judah, and from the environs of Jerusalem, and from the land of Benjamin, and from the lowlands, and from the mountain, and from the south, those that bring burnt-offerings, and sacrifices, and meat-offerings, and frankincense, and those that bring thanksgiving-offerings, unto the house of the Lord.
I zbiegną się z miast Judy, z okolic Jerozolimy i z ziemi Beniamina, z równin, z gór i z południa, przynosząc całopalenia, ofiary, dary i kadzidło i przynosząc także dziękczynienie do domu PANA.
27 But if ye will not hearken unto me to hallow the sabbath-day, and not to bear a burden, and to enter in at the gates of Jerusalem on the sabbath-day: then will I kindle a fire in its gates, and it shall devour the palaces of Jerusalem, and it shall not be quenched.
Ale jeśli mnie nie usłuchacie, aby święcić dzień szabatu i nie nosić ciężaru, gdy wchodzicie przez bramy Jerozolimy w dzień szabatu, wtedy rozniecę ogień w jej bramach, który pochłonie pałace Jerozolimy i nie będzie ugaszony.
