Isaiah 43
1 But now thus hath said the Lord that created thee, O Jacob, and he that formed thee, O Israel, Fear not; for I have redeemed thee, I have called thee by thy name; mine art thou.
Porém agora, assim diz o Senhor que te criou, ó Jacob, e que te formou, ó Israel: Não temas, porque eu te remi: chamei-te pelo teu nome, tu és meu.
2 Whenever thou passest through the waters, I am with thee; and through the rivers, —they shall not overflow thee: whenever thou walkest through the fire, thou shalt not be scorched; neither shall the flame burn on thee.
Quando passares pelas águas estarei contigo, e quando pelos rios, não te submergirão: quando passares pelo fogo, não te queimarás, nem a chama arderá em ti.
3 For I am the Lord thy God, the Holy One of Israel, thy Saviour; I have given Egypt for thy ransom, Cush and Seba in place of thee.
Porque eu sou o Senhor teu Deus, o Santo de Israel, o teu Salvador: dei ao Egito por teu resgate a Ethiopia e a Seba, em teu lugar.
4 Since thou art precious in my eyes, art honorable, and I indeed do love thee: therefore will I give men in place of thee, and nations instead of thy soul.
Enquanto foste precioso aos meus olhos, também foste glorificado, e eu te amei, pelo que dei os homens por ti, e os povos pela tua alma.
5 Fear not, for I am with thee; from the east will I bring thy seed, and from the west will I gather thee.
Não temas, pois, porque estou contigo: trarei a tua semente desde o oriente, e te ajuntarei desde o ocidente.
6 I will say to the north, Give up; and to the south, Withhold not: bring my sons from afar, and my daughters from the ends of the earth;
Direi ao norte; Dá; e ao sul; Não retenhas: trazei meus filhos de longe, e minhas filhas das extremidades da terra.
7 Every one that is called by my name, and whom I have created for my glory; whom I have formed; yea, whom I have made.
Todos os chamados do meu nome, e os que criei para a minha glória, os formei, e também os fiz.
8 Bring forward the blind people that have eyes, and the deaf that have ears.
Trazei o povo cego, que tem olhos; e os surdos, que tem ouvidos.
9 Let all the nations be gathered together, and let the people be assembled: who among them can announce this? and cause us to hear former things? let them bring forth their witnesses, that they may be justified: or let them hear, and say, It is truth.
Todas as nações se congreguem juntamente, e os povos se reúnam; quem dentre eles pode anunciar isto, e fazer-nos ouvir as coisas antigas? produzam as suas testemunhas, para que se justifiquem, e se ouça, e se diga: Verdade é.
10 Ye are my witnesses, saith the Lord, and my servant whom I have chosen: in order that ye may know and believe me, and understand, that I am he; before me there was no god formed, and after me there will be none.
Vós sois as minhas testemunhas, diz o Senhor, e o meu servo, a quem escolhi; para que o saibais, e me creiais, e entendais que eu sou o mesmo, e que antes de mim deus nenhum se formou, e depois de mim nenhum haverá.
11 I, I am the Lord; and beside me there is no saviour.
Eu, eu sou o Senhor, e fora de mim não há Salvador.
12 I myself have announced it, and I have saved, and I have let it be heard, and there was no strange [god] among you; and ye are my witnesses, saith the Lord, and I am God.
Eu anunciei, e eu salvei, e eu o fiz ouvir, e Deus estranho não houve entre vós, pois vós sois as minhas testemunhas, diz o Senhor; eu sou Deus.
13 Yea, from the [first] day am I he; and there is none that can deliver out of my hand: if I will work, is there one that can hinder it?
Ainda antes que houvesse dia, eu sou; e ninguém há que possa fazer escapar das minhas mãos: obrando eu, quem o desviará?
14 Thus hath said the Lord, the Holy One of Israel, For your sake did I send to Babylon, and in swift vessels brought I them all down, and the Chaldeans, in the ships of their joyful song.
Assim diz o Senhor, teu redentor, o Santo de Israel: Por amor de vós enviei a Babilônia, e a todos os fiz descer como fugitivos, a saber, os caldeus, nos navios em que exultavam.
15 I am the Lord, the Holy One, the Creator of Israel, your King.
Eu sou o Senhor, vosso Santo, o criador de Israel, vosso Rei.
16 Thus hath said the Lord, who maketh a way in the sea, and a path in the mighty waters;
Assim diz o Senhor, o que preparou no mar um caminho, e nas águas impetuosas uma vereda;
17 Who bringeth forth chariot and horse, army and power: together shall they lie down, they shall not rise up again; they are extinct, like a wick are they quenched.
O que trouxe o carro e o cavalo, o exército e a força: eles juntamente se deitaram, e nunca se levantarão: já estão apagados; como um pávio se apagaram.
18 Remember not the former things, and ancient events regard no more.
Não vos lembreis das coisas passadas, nem considereis as antigas.
19 Behold, I will do a new thing; now shall it spring forth; will ye not acknowledge it? I will even make in the wilderness a way, and in the desert rivers.
Eis que farei uma coisa nova, agora sairá à luz: porventura não a sabereis? porque porei um caminho no deserto, e rios no ermo.
20 The beasts of the field shall honor me, the monsters and the ostriches; because I give waters in the wilderness, rivers in the desert, to give drink to my people, my elect;
Os animais do campo me servirão, os dragões, e os filhos do avestruz; porque porei águas no deserto, e rios no ermo, para dar de beber ao meu povo, ao meu eleito.
21 This people which I have formed for myself; my praise shall they relate.
A este povo formei para mim; o meu louvor relatarão.
22 But on me hast thou not called, O Jacob; for thou art become weary of me, O Israel.
Contudo tu não me invocaste a mim, ó Jacob, mas te cançaste de mim, ó Israel.
23 Thou hast not brought unto me the lamb of thy burnt-offerings; and with thy sacrifices hast thou not honored me: I have not troubled thee with meat-offerings, nor wearied thee with frankincense.
Não me trouxeste o gado miúdo dos teus holocaustos, nem me honraste com os teus sacrifícios; não te fiz servir com presentes, nem te fatiguei com incenso.
24 Thou hast not bought for me sweet cane, and with the fat of thy sacrifices hast thou not satisfied me; but thou hast troubled me with thy sins, thou hast wearied me with thy iniquities.
Não me compraste por dinheiro cana aromática, nem com a gordura dos teus sacrifícios me encheste, mas me deste trabalho com os teus pecados, e me cançaste com as tuas maldades.
25 I, it is I that blot out thy transgressions for my own sake, and thy sins I will not remember.
Eu, eu sou o que apago as tuas transgressões por amor de mim, e dos teus pecados me não lembro.
26 Put me in remembrance; let us plead together: relate thou, in order that thou mayest be justified.
Faze-me lembrar; entremos em juízo juntamente: aponta tu as tuas razões, para que te possa justificar.
27 Thy first father did sin, and they that plead for thee transgressed against me.
Teu primeiro pai pecou, e os teus interpretes prevaricaram contra mim.
28 Therefore do I profane the holy princes, and I give up Jacob to the curse, and Israel to reproaches.
Pelo que profanarei os maiorais do santuário; e farei de Jacob um anátema, e de Israel um opróbrio.
