2 Chronicles 27

1 Twenty and five years old was Jotham when he became king, and sixteen years did he reign in Jerusalem. And his mother's name was Yerushah, the daughter of Zadok.

Tinha Jothão vinte e cinco anos de idade, quando começou a reinar, e dezeseis anos reinou em Jerusalém: e era o nome de sua mãe Jerusa, filha de Zadok.

2 And he did what is right in the eyes of the Lord, in accordance with all that his father 'Uzziyahu had done: only he entered not into the temple of the Lord. But the people acted still corruptly.

E fez o que era reto aos olhos do Senhor, conforme a tudo o que fizera Uzias, seu pai, exceto que não entrou no templo do Senhor. E ainda o povo se corrompia.

3 He it was that built the upper gate of the house of the Lord, and on the wall of the hill-fort he built much.

Este edificou a porta alta da casa do Senhor, e também edificou muito sobre o muro d'Ophel.

4 Moreover he built cities in the mountain of Judah, and in the forests he built castles and towers.

Também edificou cidades nas montanhas de Judá, e edificou nos bosques castelos e torres.

5 And he likewise fought with the king of the sons of 'Ammon, and prevailed against them. And the children of 'Ammon gave him in that same year one hundred talents of silver, and ten thousand kors of wheat, and ten thousand of barley. So much did the children of 'Ammon pay unto him again, both in the second year, and in the third.

Ele também guerreou contra o rei dos filhos de Ammon, e prevaleceu sobre eles, de modo que os filhos de Ammon naquele ano lhe deram cem talentos de prata, e dez mil coros de trigo, e dez mil de cevada: isto lhe trouxeram os filhos de Ammon também o segundo e o terceiro ano.

6 So Jotham became strong; because he directed his ways before the Lord his God.

Assim se fortificou Jothão, porque dirigiu os seus caminhos na presença do Senhor seu Deus.

7 And the rest of the acts of Jotham, and all his wars, and his ways, lo, they are written in the book of the kings of Israel and Judah.

O resto pois dos sucessos de Jothão, e todas as suas guerras e os seus caminhos eis que está escrito no livro dos reis de Israel e de Judá.

8 Five and twenty years old was he when he became king, and sixteen years did he reign in Jerusalem.

Tinha vinte e cinco anos de idade, quando começou a reinar, e dezeseis anos reinou em Jerusalém.

9 And Jotham slept with his fathers, and they buried him in the city of David: and Achaz his son became king in his stead.

E dormiu Jothão com seus pais, e o sepultaram na cidade de David: e Achaz, seu filho, reinou em seu lugar.
