1 Samuel 28
1 And it came to pass in those days, that the Philistines gathered their camps together for warfare, to fight with Israel; and Achish said unto David, Thou must know that thou shalt go out with me into the camp, thou and thy men.
E sucedeu naqueles dias que, juntando os philisteus os seus exércitos à peleja, para fazer guerra contra Israel, disse Achis a David: Sabe de certo que comigo sairás ao arraial, tu e os teus homens.
2 And David said to Achish, By reason of this wilt thou thyself ascertain what thy servant will do. And Achish said to David, Therefore will I make thee the guard of my head for all times.
Então disse David a Achis: Assim saberás tu o que fará o teu servo. E disse Achis a David: Por isso te terei por guarda da minha cabeça para sempre.
3 Now Samuel was dead, and all Israel had lamented him, and buried him in Ramah, even in his own city; and Saul had removed those that had familiar spirits, and the wizards, out of the land.
E já Samuel era morto, e todo o Israel o tinha chorado, e o tinha sepultado em Rama, que era a sua cidade: e Saul tinha desterrado os adivinhos e os encantadores.
4 And the Philistines assembled themselves together, and came and encamped at Shunem: and Saul assembled together all Israel, and they encamped at Gilboa'.
E ajuntaram-se os philisteus, e vieram, e acamparam-se em Sunem: e ajuntou Saul a todo o Israel, e se acamparam em Gilboa.
5 And when Saul saw the camp of the Philistines, he was afraid, and his heart trembled greatly.
E, vendo Saul o arraial dos philisteus, temeu, e estremeceu muito o seu coração.
6 And Saul asked counsel of the Lord; but the Lord answered him not, either by means of dreams, or by means of the Urim, or by means of the prophets.
E perguntou Saul ao Senhor, porém o Senhor lhe não respondeu, nem por sonhos, nem por Urim, nem por profetas.
7 Then said Saul unto his servants, Seek out for me a woman that hath a familiar spirit, that I may go to her and inquire of her. And his servants said to him, Behold, there is a woman that hath a familiar spirit at 'En-dor.
Então disse Saul aos seus criados: buscai-me uma mulher que tenha o espírito de feiticeira, para que vá a ela, e consulte por ela. E os seus criados lhe disseram: Eis que em Endor há uma mulher que tem o espírito de adivinhar.
8 And Saul disguised himself, and put on other garments, and he went, he and two men with him, and they came to the woman by night: and he said, Divine, I pray thee, unto me by the familiar spirit, and bring up for me the one whom I shall say unto thee.
E Saul se disfarçou e vestiu outros vestidos, e foi ele, e com ele dois homens, e de noite vieram à mulher; e disse: Peço-te que me adivinhes pelo espírito de feiticeira, e me faças subir a quem eu te disser.
9 And the woman said unto him, Behold, thou well knowest that which Saul hath done, that he hath cut off those that have familiar spirits, and the wizards, out of the land; wherefore then layest thou a snare for my life, to cause me to die?
Então a mulher lhe disse: Eis aqui tu sabes o que Saul fez, como tem destruído da terra os adivinhos e os encantadores: porque, pois, me armas um laço à minha vida, para me fazer matar?
10 And Saul swore to her by the Lord, saying, As the Lord liveth, there shall no guilt attach to thee for this thing.
Então Saul lhe jurou pelo Senhor, dizendo: Vive o Senhor, que nenhum mal te sobrevirá por isso.
11 Then said the woman, Whom shall I bring up for thee? And he said, Samuel thou must bring up for me.
A mulher então lhe disse: A quem te farei subir? E disse ele: Faze-me subir a Samuel.
12 And when the woman saw Samuel, she cried with a loud voice: and the woman said to Saul thus, Why hast thou deceived me? since thou art Saul.
Vendo pois a mulher a Samuel, gritou com alta voz, e a mulher falou a Saul, dizendo: Porque me tens enganado? pois tu mesmo és Saul.
13 And the king said unto her, Be not afraid; however, what hast thou seen? And the woman said unto Saul, A divine being have I seen ascending out of the earth.
E o rei lhe disse: Não temas: porém que é o que vês? Então a mulher disse a Saul: Vejo deuses que sobem da terra.
14 And he said unto her, What is his form? And she said, An old man is coming up; and he is wrapt in a mantle. And so Saul perceived that it was Samuel, and he bowed with his face to the ground, and prostrated himself.
E lhe disse: Como é a sua figura? E disse ela: Vem subindo um homem ancião, e está envolto numa capa. Entendendo Saul que era Samuel, inclinou-se com o rosto em terra, e se prostrou.
15 And Samuel said to Saul, Why hast thou disquieted me, to bring me up? And Saul answered, I am greatly distressed, and the Philistines make war against me, and God is departed from me, and hath not answered me any more, either by the agency of the prophets, or by means of dreams; wherefore I have called thee, to make known unto me what I shall do.
Samuel disse a Saul: Porque me desinquietaste, fazendo-me subir? Então disse Saul: Mui angustiado estou, porque os philisteus guerreiam contra mim, e Deus se tem desviado de mim, e não me responde mais, nem pelo ministério dos profetas, nem por sonhos; por isso te chamei a ti, para que me faças saber o que hei de fazer.
16 Then said Samuel, And why wilt thou ask me, seeing the Lord is departed from thee, and is become thy enemy?
Então disse Samuel: Porque pois a mim me perguntas, visto que o Senhor te tem desamparado, e se tem feito teu inimigo?
17 And the Lord hath done for himself as he hath spoken through my agency; and the Lord hath rent the government out of thy hand, and hath given it to thy associate, to David;
Porque o Senhor tem feito para contigo como pela minha boca te disse, e tem rasgado o reino da tua mão, e o tem dado ao teu companheiro David.
18 As thou didst not obey the voice of the Lord, and didst not execute his fierce wrath upon 'Amalek; therefore hath the Lord done this thing unto thee this day.
Como tu não deste ouvidos à voz do Senhor, e não executaste o fervor da sua ira contra Amalek, por isso o Senhor te fez hoje isto.
19 And the Lord will deliver also Israel with thee into the hand of the Philistines; and tomorrow shalt thou and thy sons be with me: also the camp of Israel will the Lord deliver into the hand of the Philistines.
E o Senhor entregará também a Israel contigo na mão dos philisteus, e amanhã tu e teus filhos estareis comigo; e o arraial de Israel o Senhor entregará na mão dos philisteus.
20 Then fell Saul hastily with his full length to the earth, and was greatly afraid, because of the words of Samuel: there was also no strength in him; for he had not eaten any food all that day, and all that night.
E imediatamente Saul caiu estendido por terra, e grandemente temeu por causa daquelas palavras de Samuel: e não houve força nele; porque não tinha comido pão todo aquele dia e toda aquela noite.
21 And the woman came unto Saul, and saw that he was greatly terrified; and she said unto him, Behold, thy hand-maid hath obeyed thy voice; and I put my life in my hand, and hearkened unto thy words which thou spokest unto me.
Então veio a mulher a Saul, e, vendo que estava tão perturbado, disse-lhe: Eis que deu ouvidos a tua criada à tua voz, e pus a minha vida na minha mão, e ouvi as palavras que disseste.
22 And now, hearken thou also, I pray thee, unto the voice of thy hand-maid, and let me set before thee a morsel of bread, and eat; that thou mayest have strength when thou goest on the way.
Agora pois ouve também tu as palavras da tua serva, e porei um bocado de pão diante de ti, e come, para que tenhas forças para te pores a caminho.
23 But he refused, and said, I will not eat. But his servants urged him much, as also the woman; and he hearkened unto their voice. So he arose from the earth, and sat upon the bed.
Porém ele o recusou, e disse: Não comerei. Porém os seus criados e a mulher o constrangeram; e deu ouvidos à sua voz: e levantou-se do chão, e se assentou sobre uma cama
24 And the woman had a fatted calf in the house; and she hastened, and slaughtered it, and took flour, and kneaded it, and baked unleavened bread thereof:
E tinha a mulher em casa uma bezerra cevada, e se apressou, e a degolou, e tomou farinha, e a amassou, e a cozeu em bolos asmos.
25 And she brought it near before Saul, and before his servants; and they ate. Then they rose up, and went away that night.
E os trouxe diante de Saul e de seus criados, e comeram: depois levantaram-se e se foram naquela mesma noite.
