Zacharias 12

1 The burden of the word of the Lord for Israel; says the Lord, that stretches out the sky, and lays the foundation of the earth, and forms the spirit of man within him.

(Dies ist) der Ausspruch des Wortes des HERRN über Israel; so lautet der Ausspruch des HERRN, der den Himmel ausgespannt und die Erde gegründet und den Geist des Menschen in dessen Innern gebildet hat:

2 Behold, I [will] make Jerusalem as trembling door-posts to all the nations round about, and in Judea there shall be a siege against Jerusalem.

»Wisset wohl: ich mache Jerusalem zu einer Schale voll Taumeltranks für alle Völker ringsum; und auch an Juda wird die Reihe kommen bei der Belagerung Jerusalems.

3 And it shall come to pass in that day [that] I will make Jerusalem a trodden stone to all the nations: every one that tramples on it shall utterly mock at [it], and all the nations of the earth shall be gathered together against it.

An jenem Tage will ich Jerusalem zu einem Hebestein für alle Völker machen: alle, die ihn aufheben wollen, werden sich unfehlbar wund an ihm ritzen, wenn alle Völker der Erde sich gegen die Stadt versammeln.

4 In that day, says the Lord Almighty, I will strike every horse with amazement, and his rider with madness: but I will open mine eyes upon the house of Juda, and I will strike all the horses of the nations with blindness.

An jenem Tage« – so lautet der Ausspruch des HERRN – »werde ich alle Rosse mit Scheuwerden schlagen und ihre Reiter mit Blindheit; aber über dem Hause Juda will ich meine Augen offenhalten, während ich alle Rosse der Völker mit Blindheit schlage.

5 And the captains of thousands of Juda shall say in their hearts, We shall find for ourselves the inhabitants of Jerusalem in the Lord Almighty their God.

Alsdann werden die Gaufürsten Judas bei sich denken: ›Erfunden wird die Kraft der Bewohner Jerusalems im HERRN der Heerscharen, ihrem Gott.‹

6 In that day I will make the captains of thousands of Juda as a firebrand among wood, and as a torch of fire in stubble; and they shall devour on the right hand and on the left all the nations round about: and Jerusalem shall dwell again by herself, [even] in Jerusalem.

An jenem Tage will ich die Fürsten Judas machen gleich einem Feuerbecken in einem Holzstoß und wie eine Feuerfackel in einem Garbenhaufen, so daß sie zur Rechten und zur Linken alle Völker ringsum verzehren; Jerusalem aber wird auch weiterhin an seiner Stätte in Jerusalem bestehen bleiben!«

7 And the Lord shall save the tabernacles of Juda as at the beginning, that the boast of the house of David, and the pride of the inhabitants of Jerusalem, may not magnify themselves against Juda.

Zuerst aber wird der HERR den Zelten Judas Erfolge verleihen, damit der Stolz des Hauses Davids und der Stolz der Bewohner Jerusalems sich Juda gegenüber nicht überhebt.

8 And it shall come to pass in that day, [that] the Lord shall defend the inhabitants of Jerusalem; and the weak one among them in that day shall be as David, and the house of David as the house of God, as the angel of the Lord before them.

An jenem Tage wird der HERR die Bewohner Jerusalems beschirmen, so daß der Kraftloseste unter ihnen an jenem Tage wie David sein wird und das Haus Davids wie das Haus Gottes, wie der Engel des HERRN an ihrer Spitze.

9 And it shall come to pass in that day, [that] I will seek to destroy all the nations that come against Jerusalem.

»Und geschehen wird es an jenem Tage, da werde ich darauf bedacht sein, alle Völker zu vernichten, die gegen Jerusalem zu Felde gezogen sind.

10 And I will pour upon the house of David, and upon the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the spirit of grace and compassion: and they shall look upon me, because they have mocked [me], and they shall make lamentation for him, as for a beloved [friend], and they shall grieve intensely, as for a firstborn [son].

Sodann will ich über das Haus Davids und über die Bewohner Jerusalems den Geist der Gnade und der Bitte um Gnade ausgießen, so daß sie auf den hinblicken werden, den sie durchbohrt haben, und um ihn wehklagen, wie man um den einzigen Sohn wehklagt, und bitterlich Leid um ihn tragen, wie man um den (Tod des) Erstgeborenen Leid trägt.«

11 In that day the lamentation in Jerusalem shall be very great, as the mourning for the pomegranate grove cut down in the plain.

An jenem Tage wird die Trauer in Jerusalem so groß sein wie einst die Trauer um Hadad-Rimmon in der Ebene von Megiddo.

12 And the land shall lament in separate families, the family of the house of David by itself, and their wives by themselves; the family of the house of Nathan by itself, and their wives by themselves;

Da wird das Land wehklagen, jedes Geschlecht für sich besonders: das Geschlecht des Hauses Davids für sich, auch ihre Frauen für sich; das Geschlecht des Hauses Nathans für sich, auch ihre Frauen für sich;

13 the family of the house of Levi by itself, and their wives by themselves; the family of Symeon by itself, and their wives by themselves;

das Geschlecht des Hauses Levis für sich, auch ihre Frauen für sich; das Geschlecht der Simeiten für sich, auch ihre Frauen für sich;

14 all the families that are left, each family by itself, and their wives by themselves.

und ebenso alle übrigen Geschlechter, jedes Geschlecht für sich und auch ihre Frauen für sich.
