Psalms 64

1 For the end, a Psalm of David. Hear my prayer, O God, when I make my petition to you; deliver my soul from fear of the enemy.

برای رهبر سرایندگان. مزمور داوود. ای خدا، به ناله‌های شِکوه‌آمیز من گوش فرا ده و جانم را از دست دشمنان حفظ فرما.

2 You have sheltered me from the conspiracy of them that do wickedly; from the multitude of them that work iniquity;

در مقابل توطئهٔ شریران که فتنه بر پا می‌کنند، از من محافظت کن.

3 who have sharpened their tongues as a sword; they have bent their bow maliciously;

آنها زبان خود را همچون شمشیر، تیز کرده‌اند و به جای تیر و کمان با سخنان تلخ مجهز شده‌اند

4 to shoot in secret at the blameless; they will shoot him suddenly, and will not fear.

تا از کمینگاههای خود ناگهان به انسان بی‌گناه شبیخون زنند.

5 They have set up for themselves an evil matter, they have given counsel to hide snares; they have said, Who shall see them?

آنها یکدیگر را در انجام دادن نقشه‌های شرورانهٔ خود تشویق می‌کنند. دربارهٔ اینکه کجا دامهای خود را کار بگذارند با هم مشورت می‌نمایند، و می‌گویند: «هیچ‌کس نمی‌تواند اینها را ببیند.»

6 They have searched out iniquity; they have wearied themselves with searching diligently, a man shall approach and the heart is deep,

آنها نقشهٔ شوم طرح می‌کنند و می‌گویند: «نقشهٔ ما نقصی ندارد!» فکر و دل انسان چقدر حیله‌گر است!

7 and God shall be exalted, their wounds were [caused by] the weapon of the foolish children,

اما خدا این بدکاران را هدف تیرهایش قرار خواهد داد و آنها در یک چشم به هم زدن نقش زمین خواهند شد.

8 and their tongues have set him at nothing, all that saw them were troubled;

آری، آنها طعمهٔ سخنان زشت خود خواهند شد. کسانی که آنها را بینند با تمسخر سر خود را تکان خواهند داد.

9 and every man was alarmed, and they related the works of God, and understood his deeds.

ایشان خواهند ترسید و دربارهٔ کارهای خدا تفکر خواهند نمود و آنها را برای دیگران تعریف خواهند کرد.

10 The righteous shall rejoice in the Lord, and hope on him, and all the upright in heart shall be praised.

عادلان در خداوند شادی کنند و بر او توکل نمایند؛ همهٔ پاکدلان او را ستایش کنند!
