Psalms 64

1 For the end, a Psalm of David. Hear my prayer, O God, when I make my petition to you; deliver my soul from fear of the enemy.

Ein Psalm Davids, vorzusingen. Höre, Gott, meine Stimme in meiner Klage; behüte mein Leben vor dem grausamen Feinde!

2 You have sheltered me from the conspiracy of them that do wickedly; from the multitude of them that work iniquity;

Verbirg mich vor der Sammlung der Bösen, vor dem Haufen der Übeltäter,

3 who have sharpened their tongues as a sword; they have bent their bow maliciously;

welche ihre Zunge schärfen wie ein Schwert, die mit ihren giftigen Worten zielen wie mit Pfeilen,

4 to shoot in secret at the blameless; they will shoot him suddenly, and will not fear.

daß sie heimlich schießen den Frommen; plötzlich schießen sie auf ihn ohne alle Scheu.

5 They have set up for themselves an evil matter, they have given counsel to hide snares; they have said, Who shall see them?

Sie sind kühn mit ihren bösen Anschlägen und sagen, wie sie Stricke legen wollen, und sprechen: Wer kann sie sehen?

6 They have searched out iniquity; they have wearied themselves with searching diligently, a man shall approach and the heart is deep,

Sie erdichten Schalkheit und halten's heimlich, sind verschlagen und haben geschwinde Ränke.

7 and God shall be exalted, their wounds were [caused by] the weapon of the foolish children,

Aber Gott wird sie plötzlich schießen, daß ihnen wehe tun wird.

8 and their tongues have set him at nothing, all that saw them were troubled;

Ihre eigene Zunge wird sie fällen, daß ihrer spotten wird, wer sie siehet.

9 and every man was alarmed, and they related the works of God, and understood his deeds.

Und alle Menschen, die es sehen, werden sagen: Das hat Gott getan, und merken, daß es sein Werk sei.

10 The righteous shall rejoice in the Lord, and hope on him, and all the upright in heart shall be praised.
