Proverbs 7
1 [My] son, keep my words, and hide with you my commandments. [My] son, honor the Lord, and you shall be strong; and fear none but him:
Mein Sohn, bewahre meine Warnungen und halte meine Gebote im Gedächtnis fest!
2 keep my commandments, and you shall live; and [keep] my words as the pupils of [your] eyes.
Bewahre meine Gebote, so wirst du leben, und hüte meine Lehren wie deinen Augapfel!
3 And bind them on your fingers, and write [them] on the table of your heart.
Binde sie dir um die Finger, schreibe sie dir auf die Tafel deines Herzens!
4 Say that wisdom is your sister, and gain prudence as an acquaintance for yourself;
Sage zur Weisheit: »Du bist meine Schwester«, und nenne die Einsicht deine vertraute Freundin,
5 that she may keep you from the strange and wicked woman, if she should assail you with flattering words.
damit sie dich von dem Eheweibe eines andern fernhält, von der fremden Frau, die glatte Reden führt.
6 For she looks from a window out of her house into the streets, at one whom she may see of the senseless ones, a young man void of understanding,
Denn als ich (einmal) am Fenster meines Hauses durch mein Gitter hinausschaute,
7 passing by the corner in the passages near her house,
da sah ich unter den Unerfahrenen, bemerkte ich unter den jungen Leuten einen unverständigen Jüngling,
8 and speaking, in the dark of the evening,
der auf der Straße hin und her ging, in der Nähe ihrer Ecke, und in der Richtung nach ihrem Hause schritt,
9 when there happens [to be] the stillness of night and of darkness:
in der Dämmerung, am Abend des Tages, tief in der Nacht und in der Finsternis.
10 and the woman meets him having the appearance of a harlot, that causes the hearts of young men to flutter.
Da kam ihm auf einmal eine Frau entgegen im Anzug einer Lustdirne und mit arglistigem Herzen.
11 And she is fickle, and debauched, and her feet abide not at home.
Sie ist in leidenschaftlicher Aufregung und wilder Unruhe, ihre Füße halten’s in ihrem Hause nicht aus;
12 For at one time she wanders without, and at [another] time she lies in wait in the streets, at every corner.
bald ist sie auf der Straße, bald auf den freien Plätzen, und neben jeder Ecke lauert sie.
13 Then she caught him, and kissed him, and with an impudent face said to him,
Nun hascht sie ihn, küßt ihn und sagt zu ihm mit frecher Miene:
14 I have a peace-offering; today I pay my vows:
»Dankopfer war ich schuldig: heute habe ich meine Gelübde entrichtet;
15 therefore I came forth to meet you, desiring your face; [and] I have found you.
darum bin ich ausgegangen dir entgegen, um dich aufzusuchen, und habe dich nun gefunden.
16 I have spread my bed with sheets, and I have covered it with double tapestry from Egypt.
Mit Teppichen habe ich mein Lager hergerichtet, mit bunten Decken von ägyptischem Linnen;
17 I have sprinkled my couch with saffron, and my house with cinnamon.
ich habe mein Bett mit Myrrhe, Aloe und Zimt besprengt.
18 Come, and let us enjoy love until the morning; come, and let us embrace in love.
Komm, wir wollen uns an der Liebe berauschen, bis zum Morgen in Liebeslust schwelgen!
19 For my husband is not at home, but is gone on a long journey,
Denn der Mann ist nicht daheim, er ist weithin auf Reisen gegangen;
20 having taken in his hand a bundle of money: after many days he will return to his house.
die Geldtasche hat er mit sich genommen: erst am Vollmondstage kommt er wieder heim.«
21 So with much converse she prevailed on him to go astray, and with the snares of her lips forced him from [the right path].
Durch ihr eifriges Zureden verführte sie ihn, mit ihrem glatten Geschwätz riß sie ihn fort:
22 And he followed her, being gently led on, and [that] as an ox is led to the slaughter, and as a dog to bonds, or as a hart shot in the liver with an arrow:
betört folgte er ihr wie ein Stier, der zur Schlachtung geht, und wie ein Hirsch, der ins Netz rennt,
23 and he hastens as a bird into a snare, not knowing that he is running for [his] life.
bis ein Pfeil ihm das Herz durchbohrt; wie ein Vogel dem Fanggarn zueilt, ohne zu ahnen, daß es um sein Leben geht.
24 Now then, [my] son, listen to me, and attend to the words of my mouth.
Nun denn, mein Sohn, so höre auf mich und achte auf die Mahnungen meines Mundes!
25 Let not your heart turn aside to her ways:
Laß dein Herz sich nicht auf ihre Wege locken, verirre dich nicht auf ihre Pfade!
26 for she has wounded and cast down many, and those whom she has slain are innumerable.
denn viele Erschlagene hat sie zu Boden gestreckt, und zahlreich sind die, welche sie alle gemordet hat.
