Numbers 27

1 And the daughters of Salpaad the son of Opher, the son of Galaad, the son of Machir, of the tribe of Manasse, of the sons of Joseph, came near; and these were their names, Maala, and Nua, and Egla, and Melcha, and Thersa;

۱ و دختران صلفحاد بن حافر بن جلعادبن ماکیر بن منسی، که از قبایل منسی ابن یوسف بود نزدیک آمدند، و اینهاست نامهای دخترانش: محله و نوعه و حجله و ملکه و ترصه.

2 and they stood before Moses, and before Eleazar the priest, and before the princes, and before all the congregation at the door of the tabernacle of witness, saying,

۲ و به حضور موسی و العازار کاهن، و به حضورسروران و تمامی جماعت نزد در خیمه اجتماع ایستاده، گفتند:

3 Our father died in the wilderness, and he was not in the midst of the congregation that rebelled against the Lord in the gathering of Core; for he died for his own sin, and he had no sons. Let not the name of our father be blotted out of the midst of his people, because he has no son: give us an inheritance in the midst of our father's brethren.

۳ «پدر ما در بیابان مرد و او از آن گروه نبود که در جمعیت قورح به ضد خداوندهمداستان شدند، بلکه در گناه خود مرد و پسری نداشت.

4 And Moses brought their case before the Lord.

۴ پس چرا نام پدر ما از این جهت که پسری ندارد از میان قبیله‌اش محو شود، لهذا ما رادر میان برادران پدر ما نصیبی بده.»

5 And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying,

۵ پس موسی دعوی ایشان را به حضورخداوند آورد.

6 The daughters of Salpaad have spoken rightly: you shall surely give them a possession of inheritance in the midst of their father's brethren, and you shall assign their father's inheritance to them.

۶ و خداوند موسی را خطاب کرده، گفت:

7 And you shall speak to the children of Israel, saying,

۷ «دختران صلفحاد راست می‌گویند، البته در میان برادران پدر ایشان ملک موروثی به ایشان بده، و نصیب پدر ایشان را به ایشان انتقال نما.

8 If a man die, and have no son, you shall assign his inheritance to his daughter.

۸ و بنی‌اسرائیل را خطاب کرده، بگو: اگر کسی بمیرد و پسری نداشته باشد، ملک او را به دخترش انتقال نمایید.

9 And if he have no daughter, you shall give his inheritance to his brother.

۹ و اگر او رادختری نباشد، ملک او را به برادرانش بدهید.

10 And if he have no brethren, you shall give his inheritance to his father's brother.

۱۰ واگر او را برادری نباشد، ملک او را به برادران پدرش بدهید.

11 And if there be no brethren of his father, you shall give the inheritance to his nearest relation of his tribe, to inherit his possessions; and this shall be to the children of Israel an ordinance of judgment, as the Lord commanded Moses.

۱۱ و اگر پدر او را برادری نباشد، ملک او را به هر کس از قبیله‌اش که خویش نزدیکتر او باشد بدهید، تا مالک آن بشود، پس این برای بنی‌اسرائیل فریضه شرعی باشد، چنانکه خداوند به موسی‌امر فرموده بود.»

12 And the Lord said to Moses, Go up to the mountain that is in the country beyond Jordan, this mount Nabau, and behold the land Chanaan, which I give to the sons of Israel for a possession.

۱۲ و خداوند به موسی گفت: «به این کوه عباریم برآی و زمینی را که به بنی‌اسرائیل داده‌ام، ببین.

13 And you shall see it, and you also shall be added to your people, as Aaron your brother was added [to them] in mount Or:

۱۳ و چون آن را دیدی تو نیز به قوم خودملحق خواهی شد، چنانکه برادرت هارون ملحق شد.

14 because you transgressed my commandment in the wilderness of Sin, when the congregation resisted [and refused] to sanctify me; you sanctified me not at the water before them. This is the water of Strife in Cades in the wilderness of Sin.

۱۴ زیرا که در بیابان صین وقتی که جماعت مخامصه نمودند شما از قول من عصیان ورزیدید، و مرا نزد آب در نظر ایشان تقدیس ننمودید.» این است آب مریبه قادش، در بیابان صین.

15 And Moses said to the Lord,

۱۵ و موسی به خداوند عرض کرده، گفت:

16 Let the Lord God of spirits and of all flesh look out for a man over this congregation,

۱۶ «ملتمس اینکه یهوه خدای ارواح تمامی بشر، کسی را بر این جماعت بگمارد

17 who shall go out before them, and who shall come in before them, and who shall lead them out, and who shall bring them in; so the congregation of the Lord shall not be as sheep without a shepherd.

۱۷ که پیش روی ایشان بیرون رود، و پیش روی ایشان داخل شود، و ایشان را بیرون برد و ایشان را درآورد، تاجماعت خداوند مثل گوسفندان بی‌شبان نباشند.»

18 And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying, Take to yourself Joshua the son of Naue, a man who has the Spirit in him, and you shall lay your hands upon him.

۱۸ و خداوند به موسی گفت: «یوشع بن نون را که مردی صاحب روح است گرفته، دست خود را بر او بگذار.

19 And you shall set him before Eleazar the priest, and you shall give him a charge before all the congregation, and you shall give a charge concerning him before them.

۱۹ و او را به حضورالعازار کاهن و به حضور تمامی جماعت برپاداشته، در نظر ایشان به وی وصیت نما.

20 And you shall put of your glory upon him, that the children of Israel may listen to him.

۲۰ و ازعزت خود بر او بگذار تا تمامی جماعت بنی‌اسرائیل او را اطاعت نمایند.

21 And he shall stand before Eleazar the priest, and they shall ask of him before the Lord the judgment of the Urim: they shall go forth at his word, and at his word they shall come in, he and the children of Israel with one accord, and all the congregation.

۲۱ و او به حضور العازار کاهن بایستد تا از برای او به حکم اوریم به حضور خداوند سوال نماید، و به فرمان وی، او و تمامی بنی‌اسرائیل با وی و تمامی جماعت، بیرون روند، و به فرمان وی داخل شوند.»

22 And Moses did as the Lord commanded him; and he took Joshua, and set him before Eleazar the priest, and before all the congregation.

۲۲ پس موسی به نوعی که خداوند او راامر فرموده بود عمل نموده، یوشع را گرفت و اورا به حضور العازار کاهن و به حضور تمامی جماعت برپا داشت.

23 And he laid his hands on him, and appointed him as the Lord ordered Moses.

۲۳ و دستهای خود را بر اوگذاشته، او را به طوری که خداوند به واسطه موسی گفته بود، وصیت نمود.
