Joshua 22
1 Then Joshua called together the sons of Ruben, and the sons of Gad, and the half tribe of Manasse,
Lè sa a, Jozye fè rele tout moun nan branch fanmi Woubenn, nan branch fanmi Gad ak nan mwatye branch fanmi Manase a, li reyini yo,
2 and said to them, You have heard all that Moses the servant of the Lord commanded you, and you have listened to my voice in all that he commanded you.
li di yo: -Nou fè tou sa Moyiz, sèvitè Seyè a, te ban nou lòd fè a. Nou te koute m' chak fwa mwen te mande nou fè kichòy.
3 You have not deserted your brethren these many days: until this day you have kept the commandment of the Lord your God.
Depi nan konmansman rive jòdi a, nou pa lage moun pèp Izrayèl parèy nou yo, nou te fè tou sa Seyè a, Bondye nou an, te mande nou fè.
4 And now the Lord our God has given our brethren rest, as he told them: now then return and depart to your homes, and to the land of your possession, which Moses gave you on the other side Jordan.
Koulye a, Seyè a, Bondye nou an, ba yo lapè jan li te di yo a. Se konsa, nou mèt tounen al lakay nou, nan peyi ki pou nou an, peyi Moyiz, sèvitè Seyè a, te ban nou lòt bò larivyè Jouden.
5 But take great heed to do the commands and the law, which Moses the servant of the Lord commanded you to do; to love the Lord our God, to walk in all his ways, to keep his commands, and to cleave to him, and serve him with all your mind, and with all your soul.
Sèl bagay n'ap mande nou, se pou nou obeyi kòmandman ak lalwa Moyiz, sèvitè Seyè a, te ban nou an. Se pou nou renmen Seyè a, Bondye nou an. Se pou nou toujou mache nan chemen li mete devan nou an. Se pou nou fè tou sa l' mande nou fè. Se pou nou kenbe pye l' fèm. Se pou nou sèvi l' ak tout kè nou ak tout nanm nou.
6 And Joshua blessed them, and dismissed them; and they went to their homes.
Apre sa, Jozye ba yo benediksyon, li voye yo ale. Epi, y' al lakay yo.
7 And to [one] half the tribe of Manasse Moses gave a portion in the land of Basan, and to [the other] half Joshua gave a portion with his brethren on the other side of Jordan westward: and when Joshua sent them away to their homes, then he blessed them.

8 And they departed with much wealth to their houses, and they divided the spoil of their enemies with their brethren; very much cattle, and silver, and gold, and iron, and much raiment.

9 So the sons of Ruben, and the sons of Gad, and the half tribe of Manasse, departed from the children of Israel in Selo in the land of Chanaan, to go away into Galaad, into the land of their possession, which they inherited by the command of the Lord, by the hand of Moses.

10 And they came to Galaad of Jordan, which is in the land of Chanaan: and the children of Ruben, and the children of Gad, and the half tribe of Manasse built there an altar by Jordan, a great altar to look at.
Lè moun Woubenn yo, moun Gad yo ak mwatye moun Manase yo rive devan larivyè Jouden, sou bò peyi Kanaran an, yo bati yon kokenn chenn lotèl sou rivaj la.
11 And the children of Israel heard say, Behold, the sons of Ruben, and the sons of Gad, and the half tribe of Manasse have built an altar at the borders of the land of Chanaan at Galaad of Jordan, on the opposite side to the children of Israel.
Lòt moun pèp Izrayèl yo vin konn sa. Moun te vin di yo: -Men moun Woubenn yo, moun Gad yo ak mwatye moun Manase yo bati yon lotèl toupre larivyè Jouden sou fwontyè peyi Kanaran an, sou bò peyi moun Izrayèl yo.
12 And all the children of Israel gathered together to Selo, so as to go up and fight against them.
Lè pèp Izrayèl la vin konn sa, tout moun sanble lavil Silo pou y' al goumen ak moun Woubenn yo, moun Gad yo ak lòt mwatye moun Manase yo.
13 And the children of Israel sent to the sons of Ruben, and the sons of Gad, and to the sons of the half tribe of Manasse into the land of Galaad, both Phinees the son of Eleazar the son of Aaron the priest,
Moun pèp Izrayèl yo voye Fineas, pitit gason Eleaza, prèt la, bò kote moun Woubenn yo, moun Gad yo ansanm ak mwatye moun Manase yo nan pèyi Galarad.
14 and ten of the chiefs with him; [there was] one chief of every household out of all the tribes of Israel; (the heads of families are the captains of thousands in Israel.)
Yo te pran dis chèf, yonn pou chak branch fanmi pèp Izrayèl la, yo voye yo avèk Fineas. Chèf sa yo, se moun ki te alatèt branch fanmi pèp Izrayèl yo.
15 And they came to the sons of Ruben, and to the sons of Gad, and to the half tribe of Manasse into the land of Galaad; and they spoke to them, saying,
Se konsa, mesye sa yo rive bò moun Woubenn yo, moun Gad yo ak mwatye moun Manase yo nan peyi Galarad, epi yo di yo:
16 Thus says the whole congregation of the Lord, What [is] this transgression that you have transgressed before the God of Israel, to turn away today from the Lord, in that you have built for yourselves an altar, so that you should be apostates from the Lord?
-Men sa tout moun pèp Izrayèl yo voye di nou: Ki bagay lèd sa a nou fè konsa kont Bondye pep Izrayèl la? Poukisa jòdi a nou vire do bay Seyè a, n' al bati yon lotèl pou tèt pa nou? Poukisa nou leve kont Seyè a jòdi a?
17 Is the sin of Phogor too little for you, whereas we have not been cleansed from it until this day, though there was a plague among the congregation of the Lord?
Chonje peche nou te fè bò Peyò a, lè Seyè a te pini pèp li a. Jouk koulye a n'ap soufri pou bagay sa a toujou. Sa pa kont toujou?
18 And you have this day revolted from the Lord; and it shall come to pass if you revolt this day from the Lord, that to-morrow there shall be wrath upon all Israel.

19 And now if the land of your possession [be too] little, cross over to the land of the possession of the Lord, where the tabernacle of the Lord dwells, and receive you an inheritance among us; and do not become apostates from God, neither do you apostatize from the Lord, because of your having built an altar apart from the altar of the Lord our God.
Si nou wè peyi yo ban nou an pa bon pou fè sèvis Bondye, pito nou vin bò isit la nan peyi Seyè a, kote kay Seyè a ye a. Mande pou yo ban nou yon pòsyon pou nou ladan l'. Men, pa leve kont Seyè a, ni pa vire do ban nou. Piga nou kite lotèl Seyè a, Bondye nou an, pou n' al bati yon lòt lotèl.
20 Behold! did not Achar the [son] of Zara commit a trespass [taking] of the accursed thing, and there was wrath on the whole congregation of Israel? and he himself died alone in his own sin.

21 And the sons of Ruben, and the sons of Gad, and the half tribe of Manasse answered, and spoke to the captains of the thousands of Israel, saying,
Lè sa a, moun Woubenn yo, moun Gad yo ak mwatye moun Manase yo pran lapawòl, yo reponn chèf fanmi pèp Izrayèl la. Yo di yo:
22 God [even] God is the Lord, and God [even] God himself knows, and Israel he shall know; if we have transgressed before the Lord by apostasy, let him not deliver us this day.
-Seyè a, Bondye ki gen plis pouvwa pase tout lòt bondye yo, konnen se pa paske nou leve kont li, ni paske nou vle vire do ba li kifè nou bati lotèl sa a. Li konnen sa, epi se pou l' fè pèp Izrayèl la konn sa tou. Si se pou rezon sa yo nou te moute lotèl sa a, se pou l' kite yo touye nou jòdi a menm.
23 And if we have built to ourselves an altar, so as to apostatize from the Lord our God, so as to offer upon it a sacrifice of whole burnt offerings, so as to offer upon it a sacrifice of peace-offering, —the Lord shall require it.
Si nou bati lotèl sa a pou nou vire do bay Seyè a, pou nou ka gen lotèl pa nou pou boule bèt n'ap ofri yo sou li, oswa pou fè lòt ofrann jaden nou yo, osinon ofrann pou di Bondye mèsi, se pou Seyè a mande nou kont pou sa nou fè a.
24 But we have done this for the sake of precaution [concerning this] thing, saying, Lest hereafter your sons should say to our sons, What have you to do with the Lord God of Israel?

25 Whereas the Lord has set boundaries between us and you, even Jordan, and you have no portion in the Lord: so your sons shall alienate our sons, that they should not worship the Lord.

26 And we gave orders to do thus, to build this altar, not for burnt offerings, nor for meat-offerings;
Lè sa a nou di: Bon! Nou pral bati yon lotèl, nou pa pral boule ofrann ni touye ankenn bèt sou li.
27 but that this may be a witness between you and us, and between our posterity after us, that we may do service to the Lord before him, with our burnt offerings and our meat-offerings and our peace-offerings: so your sons shall not say to our sons, hereafter, You have no portion in the Lord.
Sèlman, se pou lotèl sa a sèvi yon mak pou nou tout ki la koulye a ak pou pitit nou yo, pou fè nou chonje se Seyè a nou sèvi avèk ofrann boule nou yo, avèk bèt nou touye yo, avèk ofrann pou di Bondye mèsi nou yo. Konsa denmen, pitit moun pèp Izrayèl yo p'ap ka di pitit pa nou yo: Wi, nou pa gen anyen pou nou wè ak Seyè a.
28 And we said, If ever it should come to pass that they should speak [so] to us, or to our posterity hereafter; then shall they say, Behold the likeness of the altar of the Lord, which our fathers made, not for the sake of burnt offerings, nor for the sake of meat-offerings, but it is a witness between you and us, and between our sons.
Nou te fè lide si yon jou yon moun ta vin di nou bagay konsa, osinon ta vin pale konsa ak pitit nou yo, n'a ka reponn yo: Gade! Men lotèl zansèt nou yo te bati. Li pòtre ak lotèl Seyè a. Se pa t' pou boule ofrann, ni pou touye ankenn bèt sou li. Men, se te yon mak pou fè nou tout chonje sak te pase!
29 Far be it from us therefore that we should turn away from the Lord this day so as to apostatize from the Lord, so as that we should build an altar for burnt offerings, and for peace-offerings, besides the altar of the Lord which is before his tabernacle.
Nou pa janm fè lide leve kont Seyè a, ni vire do ba li. Nou pa bati yon lotèl jòdi a pou nou boule bèt nou yo, ni pou fè ofrann jaden nou yo, ni pou touye bèt nou ofri yo. Nou p'ap janm bati yon lòt lotèl ki pou ranplase lotèl Seyè a, Bondye nou an, ki kanpe devan kay kote l' rete a.
30 And Phinees the priest and all the chiefs of the congregation of Israel who were with him heard the words which the children of Ruben, and the children of Gad, and the half tribe of Manasse spoke; and it pleased them.
Lè Fineas, prèt la, chèf pèp la ak chèf branch fanmi pèp Izrayèl ki te ale avè l' yo tande sa moun Gad, moun Woubenn ak moun Manase yo te di yo, sa te fè yo plezi anpil.
31 And Phinees the priest said to the sons of Ruben, and to the sons of Gad, and to the half of the tribe of Manasse, To-day we know that the Lord [is] with us, because you have not trespassed grievously against the Lord, and because you have delivered the children of Israel out of the hand of the Lord.
Lè sa a, Fineas, pitit gason Eleaza, prèt la, pale ak yo, li di yo konsa: -Koulye a nou konnen Seyè a avèk nou vre, paske nou pa t' chache vire do ba li. Se konsa nou sove pèp Izrayèl la anba chatiman Seyè a.
32 So Phinees the priest and the princes departed from the children of Ruben, and from the children of Gad, and from the half tribe of Manasse out of Galaad into the land of Chanaan to the children of Israel; and reported the words to them.
Apre sa, Fineas, pitit Eleaza, prèt la, ak tout chèf yo kite moun Woubenn yo ak moun Gad yo nan peyi Galarad, yo tounen nan peyi Kanaran al jwenn rès pèp Izrayèl la. Yo rapòte yo repons lòt moun yo te ba yo a.
33 And it pleased the children of Israel; and they spoke to the children of Israel, and blessed the God of the children of Israel, and told them to go up no more to war against the others to destroy the land of the children of Ruben, and the children of Gad, and the half tribe of Manasse: so they lived upon it.
Sa te fè pèp Izrayèl la plezi anpil: yo fè lwanj Bondye. Depi lè sa a, yo pa janm pale ankò sou keksyon al atake moun Woubenn yo ak moun Gad yo ni sou keksyon al detwi peyi moun sa yo.
34 And Joshua gave a name to the altar of the children of Ruben, and the children of Gad, and the half tribe of Manasse; and said, It is a testimony in the midst of them, that the Lord is their God.
