Job 1
1 There was a certain man in the land of Ausis, whose name [was] Job; and than man was true, blameless, righteous, [and] godly, abstaining from everything evil.
Dinhay usa ka tawo sa yuta sa Hus, kinsang ngalan mao si Job; ug kadtong tawohana hingpit ug matarung, ug usa nga mahadlokon sa Dios, ug nagapahilayo sa dautan.
2 And he had seven sons and three daughters.
Ug kaniya may natawo nga pito ka anak nga lalake ug totolo ka anak nga babaye.
3 And his cattle consisted of seven thousand sheep, three thousand camels, five hundred yoke of oxen, five hundred she-asses in the pastures, and a very great household, and he had a great husbandry on the earth; and that man was [most] noble of the [men] of the east.
Ug ang iyang katigayonan usab, pito ka libo nga carnero ug totolo ka libo nga camello, ug lima ka gatus nga pares nga vaca, ug lima ka gatus nga asnong baye, ug daku uyamut nga panimalay; mao nga kining tawohana maoy labing bantugan sa tanang mga anak sa sidlakan.
4 And his sons visiting one another prepared a banquet every day, taking with them also their three sisters to eat and drink with them.
Ug ang iyang mga anak nanglakaw ug naghimo ug usa ka combira sa balay sa tagsatagsa sa iyang adlawng natawohan; ug nagsugo sila sa pagpadapit sa totolo nila ka igsoong babaye aron sa pagpangaon ug sa pag-inum uban kanila.
5 And when the days of the banquet were completed, Job sent and purified them, having risen up in the morning, and offered sacrifices for them, according to their number, and one calf for a sin-offering for their souls: for Job said, Lest perhaps my sons have thought evil in their minds against God. Thus, then Job did continually.
Ug mao kadto sa nangagi na ang mga adlaw sa ilang mga pagcombira, nga si Job nagpasugo ug nagbalaan kanila, ug misayo pagmata sa pagkabuntag, ug naghalad ug mga halad-nga-sinunog, sumala sa gidaghanon nilang tanan, kay miingon si Job: Tingali nakasala ang akong mga anak nga lalake, ug nagpasipala sa Dios diha sa ilang mga kasingkasing. Kini mao ang gihimo ni Job sa kanunay.
6 And it came to pass on a day, that behold, the angels of God came to stand before the Lord, and the devil came with them.
Karon nahitabo sa diha nga ang mga anak sa Dios nanuol sa pagpakita sa atubangan ni Jehova, si Satanas miduol usab sa taliwala nila.
7 And the Lord said to the devil, Whence are you come? And the devil answered the Lord, and said, I am come from compassing the earth, and walking up and down in the world.
Ug si Jehova miingon kang Satanas: Diin ka gikan? Unya si Satanas mitubag kang Jehova, ug miingon: Gikan sa akong pagsuroysuroy didto sa yuta, ug gikan sa akong pagsaka ug pagkanaug niini.
8 And the Lord said to him, Hast you diligently considered my servant Job, that there is none like him on the earth, a man blameless, true, godly, abstaining from everything evil?
Ug si Jehova miingon kang Satanas; Gipalandong mo ba si Job nga akong alagad? Kay walay sama kaniya diha sa yuta, hingpit ug matarung nga tawo, usa nga mahadlokon sa Dios, ug nagapahilayo sa dautan.
9 Then the devil answered, and said before the Lord, Does Job worship the Lord for nothing?
Unya mitubag si Satanas kang Jehova, ug miingon: Mahadlok ba lamang si Job sa Dios sa walay hinungdan?
10 Hast you not made a hedge about him, and about his household, and all his possessions round about? and have you not blessed the works of his hands, and multiplied his cattle upon the land?
Wala ba ikaw mag-alad kaniya, ug libut sa iyang balay, ug libut sa tanan niyang butang, sa tanang kiliran? gipanalanginan mo ang buhat sa iyang mga kamot, ug ang iyang mga katigayonan nagadugang sa ibabaw sa yuta.
11 But put forth your hand, and touch all that he has: verily he will bless you to [your] face.
Apan bakyawa karon ang imong kamot, ug tanduga ang tanan nga anaa kaniya, ug siya magapasipala kanimo bisan sa atubangan sa imong nawong.
12 Then the Lord said to the devil, Behold, I give into your hand all that he has, but touch not himself. So the devil went out from the presence of the Lord.
Ug si Jehova miingon kang Satanas: Ania karon, ang tanan nga anaa kaniya anaa sa imong kamot; ugaling ayaw lamang pagtanduga siya sa iyang kaugalingon. Busa milakaw si Satanas gikan sa atubangan ni Jehova.
13 And it came to pass on a certain day, that Job's sons and his daughters were drinking wine in the house of their elder brother.
Ug nahitabo sa adlaw nga ang mga anak nga lalake ug babaye nangaon ug nanginum sa vino didto sa balay sa ilang kamagulangan nga lalake,
14 And, behold, there came a messenger to Job, and said to him, The yokes of oxen were plowing, and the she-asses were feeding near them;
Nga miabut ang usa ka sinugo ngadto kang Job, ug miingon: Ang mga vaca gipanagdaro, ug ang mga asno nanagsibsib duol kanila;
15 and the spoilers came and took them for a prey, and killed the servants with the sword; and I having escaped alone am come to tell you.
Ug ang mga Sabeohanon mingdasmag kanila, ug kini gikuha: oo, ilang gipamatay ang mga sulogoon sa sulab sa pinuti; ug ako lamang usara ang nakakalagiw sa pagsugilon kanimo.
16 While he was yet speaking, there came another messenger, and said to Job, Fire has fallen from heaven, and burnt up the sheep, and devoured the shepherds like wise; and I having escaped alone am come to tell you.
Sa diha nga nagsulti pa siya, may lain usab nga miabut, ug miingon: Ang kalayo sa Dios nahulog gikan sa langit, ug nasunog ang mga carnero ug ang mga sulogoon, ug giut-ut sila; ug ako lamang usara ang nakakalagiw sa pagsugilon kanimo.
17 While he was yet speaking, there came another messenger, and said to Job, The horsemen formed three companies against us, and surrounded the camels, and took them for a prey, and killed the servants with the sword; and I only escaped, and am come to tell you.
Sa diha nga nagasulti pa siya, may lain usab nga miabut, ug miingon: Ang mga Caldeahanon nagbahin sa totolo ka pundok, ug mingdasmag sa camello, ug gidala kini: oo, ug ilang gipamatay ang mga sulogoon sa sulab sa pinuti; ako lamang usara ang nakakalagiw sa pagsugilon kanimo.
18 While he is yet speaking, another messenger comes, saying to Job, While your sons and your daughters were eating and drinking with their elder brother,
Sa diha nga nagsulti pa siya, may lain usab nga miabut, ug miingon: Ang imong mga anak nga lalake ug ang imong mga anak nga babaye nangaon ug nanginum ug vino sa balay sa ilang magulang nga lalake;
19 suddenly a great wind came on from the desert, and caught the four corners of the house, and the house fell upon your children, and they are dead; and I have escaped alone, and am come to tell you.
Ug, ania karon, dihay usa ka dakung hangin nga miabut gikan sa kamingawan, ug gilapdusan ang upat ka ngilit sa balay, ug ang mga batan-on natumbahan niini, ug sila nangamatay; ug ako lamang usara ang nakakalagiw sa pagsugilon kanimo.
20 So Job arose, and tore his garments, and shaved the hair of his head, and fell on the earth, and worshipped,
Unya si Job mitindog, ug gigisi ang iyang bisti, ug gialutan ang iyang ulo, ug mihapa sa yuta, ug misimba;
21 and said, I myself came forth naked from my mother's womb, and naked shall I return there; the Lord gave, the Lord has taken away: as it seemed good to the Lord, so has it come to pass; blessed be the name of the Lord.
Ug miingon siya: Ako hubo nga migula sa tiyan sa akong inahan, ug hubo usab ako nga mopauli didto. Si Jehova mihatag, ug si Jehova mikuha; bulahan ang ngalan ni Jehova.
22 In all these events that befell him Job sinned not at all before the Lord, and did not impute folly to God.
Niining tanan si Job wala makasala, wala usab niya butangbutangi si Jehova sa binuang.
