< Jeremias 18 >

1 The word that came from the Lord to
Ma e wach mane obirone Jeremia koa ir Jehova Nyasaye:
2 Jeremias, saying, Arise, and go down to the potter's house, and there you shall hear my words.
“Dhiyo e od Jachwe agulni, kendo kanyo anamiyie otena.”
3 So I went down to the potter's house, and behold, he was making a vessel on the stones.
Omiyo ne adhi e od jachwe agulni, kendo ne ayude kar chwecho.
4 And the vessel which he was making with his hands fell: so he made it again another vessel, as it seemed good to him to make [it].
To agulu mane ichweyo gi lowo nokethore e lwete; omiyo jachwechno nochweye agulu machielo, kochweye maber kaka ne odwaro.
5 And the word of the Lord came to me, saying,
Bangʼe wach Jehova Nyasaye nobirona:
6 Shall I not be able, O house of Israel, to do to you as this potter? behold, as the clay of the potter are you in my hands.
Jehova Nyasaye owacho niya, “Yaye od Israel, donge anyalo timonu kaka jachwe agulni timo? Kaka lowo manie lwet jachwe agulni, e kaka un bende e lweta, yaye od Israel.
7 [If] I shall pronounce a decree upon a nation, or upon a kingdom, to cut them off, and to destroy [them];
Kapo ni sa moro amora alando ni piny kata pinyruodhi opudh oko, kata kethgi matiekgi,
8 and that nation turn from all their sins, then will I repent of the evils which I purposed to do to them.
kendo ka ogandano mane asiemo olokore oweyo timbegi maricho, eka analok pacha mi ok anakelnegi masira mane asechano.
9 And [if] I shall pronounce a decree upon a nation and kingdom, to rebuild and to plant [it];
Kendo ka kinde machielo alando ni piny kata pinyruoth onego ger kendo gur motegno,
10 and they do evil before me, so as not to listen to my voice, then will I repent of the good which I spoke of, to do it to them.
to kotimo tim marach e nyima kendo ok oluora, to anapar kendo kuom ber mane asechano mar timone.
11 And now say to the men of Juda, and to the inhabitants of Jerusalem, Behold, I prepare evils against you, and devise a device against you: let every one turn now from his evil way, and amend your practices.
“Emomiyo koro wachne jo-Juda kod jogo modak Jerusalem, ‘Ma e gima Jehova Nyasaye wacho: Neuru! Aiko masira nikech un kendo achano chenro marach nikech un. Omiyo weuru yoreu maricho, ngʼato ka ngʼato, kendo ulok yoreu gi timbeu.’
12 And they said, We will quit ourselves like men, for we will pursue our perverse ways, and we will perform each the lusts of his evil heart.
To gini dwoke ni, ‘Onge tiende. Wanadhi nyime gi chenro magwa wawegi; ngʼato ka ngʼato kuomwa noluw mana timbe mamono mar chunye marach.’”
13 Therefore thus says the Lord; Enquire now among the nations, who has heard such very horrible things as the virgin of Israel has done?
Emomiyo ma e gima Jehova Nyasaye wacho: “Penjieuru ogendini: En ngʼa mosewinjo gima chalo kama? Gima lich mokadho osetim gi Nyako Ngili ma en Israel.
14 Will fertilising streams fail [to flow] from a rock, or snow [fail] from Libanus? will water violently impelled by the wind turn aside?
Bende pe mag Lebanon rumo ngangʼ koa kuondege maridore motimo lwendni? Bende pige mangʼich mokwe mamol, koa kuonde maboyo dwono?
15 For my people have forgotten me, they have offered incense in vain, and they fail in their ways, [leaving] the ancient tracks, to enter upon impassable paths;
To joga wigi osewil koda, giwangʼo ubani ne nyiseche mopa manono, manomiyo gichwanyore e yoregi kendo e yore matindo machon. Giseketogi gi wuotho e yore matindo mogondore, kendo e yore ma ok opa.
16 to make their land a desolation, and a perpetual hissing; all that go through it shall be amazed, and shall shake their heads.
Pinygi nodongʼ gunda, mi enobedi gima inyiero manyaka chiengʼ; jogo duto makalo bute nobwogi kendo gini kin wigi.
17 I will scatter them before their enemies like an east wind; I will show them the day of their destruction.
Kaka yamo ma aa yo wuok chiengʼ, anakegi e nyim wasikgi; ananyisgi ngʼeya to ok wangʼa e kinde mar masichegi.”
18 Then they said, Come, and let us devise a device against Jeremias; for the law shall not perish from the priest, nor counsel from the wise, nor the word from the prophet. Come, and let us strike him with the tongue, and we will hear all his words.
Negiwacho, “Biuru, wangʼad rieko mar hinyo Jeremia; nimar puonj mar chik mikelo gi jadolo ok nolal, kata ngʼado rieko moa kuom joma riek, kata weche moa ir jonabi. Omiyo biuru, wahangne wach kendo kik wachik itwa ne gimoro amora mowacho.”
19 Hear me, O Lord, and hear the voice of my pleading.
Winja, yaye Jehova Nyasaye; winj gima joma donjona wacho!
20 Forasmuch as evil is rewarded for good; for they have spoken words against my soul, and they have hidden the punishment they [meant] for me; remember that I stood before your face, to speak good for them, to turn away your wrath from them.
Bende ber inyalo chul gi tim marach? To kata kamano gisekunyona bugo. Par nine achungʼ e nyimi kendo awuoyo ka akwayonegi, mondo kik iol mirimbi kuomgi.
21 Therefore do you deliver their sons to famine, and gather them to the power of the sword: let their women be childless and widows; and let their men be cut off by death, and their young men fall by the sword in war.
Omiyo we nyithindgi kech oka; bolgi e teko mar ligangla. We mondegi obed maonge nyithindo kendo mon ma chwogi otho; mad chwogi negi, rowere mag-gi negi gi ligangla e kedo.
22 Let there be a cry in their houses: you shall bring upon them robbers suddenly: for they have formed a plan to take me, and have hidden snares for me.
Mad ywak winji koa e utegi ka ikelo joma dwaro monjogi apoya nono, nimar gisekunyona bugo mondo gimaka kendo giseketo obadho mondo gimak godo tienda.
23 And you, Lord, know all their deadly counsel against me: account not their iniquities guiltless, and blot not out their sins from before you: let their weakness come before you; deal with them in the time of your wrath.
To in ingʼeyo, yaye Jehova Nyasaye, chenrogi duto mar nega. Kik ingʼwon-negi kuom timbegi mag jendeke, kata rucho richo mag-gi e nyim wangʼi. Mad logi e nyimi; kendo kumgi e kinde mag mirimbi.
