1 And the word of the Lord came to me saying,
Ekigambo kya Mukama Katonda ne kinzijira n’aŋŋamba nti,
2 And you, son of man, take up a lamentation against Sor;
“Kaakano, ggwe omwana w’omuntu tandika okukungubagira Ttuulo.
3 and you shall say to Sor that dwells at the entrance of the sea, to the mart of the nations coming from many islands, Thus says the Lord to Sor; You have said, I have clothed myself with my beauty.
Oyogere eri Ttuulo, ekiri awayingirirwa mu nnyanja, omusuubuzi ow’amawanga ag’oku ttale ery’ennyanja, nti bw’ati bw’ayogera Mukama Katonda nti, “‘Ggwe Ttuulo oyogera nti, “Natuukirira mu bulungi.”
4 In the heart of the sea your sons have put beauty upon you for Beelim.
Amatwale go gakoma mu nnyanja wakati, era n’abaakuzimba baakola omulimu ogw’ettendo.
5 Cedar in Senir was employed for you in building: boards of cypress timber were taken out of Libanus, and wood to make you masts of fir.
Baakola embaawo zo zonna mu miberosi gya Seniri, ne baddira emivule egy’e Lebanooni ne bakolamu omulongooti.
6 They made your oars [of wood] out of the land of Basan; your sacred utensils they made of ivory, your shady houses of wood from the isles of Chetiim.
Ne bakola enkasi zo okuva mu myera egya Basani, n’emmanga zo, bazikola mu nzo, ez’oku bizinga ebya Kittimu, nga bazaaliiridde n’amasanga.
7 Fine linen with embroidery from Egypt supplied the couch, to put honor upon you, and to clothe you with blue and purple from the isles of Elisai; and they became your coverings.
Ettanga lyo lyali lya linena aliko omudalizo eryava mu Misiri, era lyakozesebwanga ebendera; n’engoye zo zaali za bbululu n’ez’effulungu ezaaba ku ttale erya Erisa ekyali ku mabbali g’ennyanja.
8 And your princes were the dwellers in Sidon, and the Aradians were your rowers: your wise men, O Sor, who were in you, these were your pilots.
Abasajja b’e Sidoni ne Aluwadi be baakubanga enkasi, n’abasajja bo abamanyirivu, ggwe Ttuulo, be baali abalunnyanja.
9 The elders of the Biblians, and their wise men, who were in you, these helped your counsel: and all the ships of the sea and their rowers traded for you to the utmost west.
Abasajja abazira ab’e Gebali n’abagezigezi baaberanga mu ggwe, era ng’omulimu gwabwe kunyweza emiguwa gy’ebyombo; ebyombo byonna eby’oku nnyanja n’abagoba baabyo bajjanga okusuubula naawe; nga bagula ebyamaguzi byo.
10 Persians and Lydians and Libyans were in your army: your warriors hung in you shields and helmets; these gave [you] your glory.
“‘Abantu ab’e Buperusi, ne Luudi ne Puuti, baali mu ggye lyo, era be baawanikanga engabo n’enkuufiira ku bisenge byo ne bakuwa ekitiibwa.
11 The sons of the Aradians and your army were upon the walls; there were guards in your towers: they hung their quivers on your battlements round about; these completed your beauty.
Abasajja ba Aluwadi n’eggye lyabwe be baakuumanga bbugwe wo enjuuyi zonna; abasajja b’e Gagammada baabanga mu mirongooti gyo nga bawanise engabo zaabwe okwetooloola bbugwe wo, era be baakulabisanga obulungi.
12 The Carthaginians were your merchants because of the abundance of all your strength; they furnished your market with silver, and gold, and iron, and tin, and lead.
“‘Talusiisi yakolanga naawe obusuubuzi obw’obugagga obw’engeri zonna bwe walina, baawanyisanga effeeza, n’ebyuma, n’amabaati n’amasasi bafune ebyamaguzi byo.
13 Greece, both the whole [world], and the adjacent coasts, these traded with you in the persons of men, and they gave [as] your merchandise vessels of brass.
“‘Buyonaani, Tubali, ne Meseki be baakusuubulangako, nga muwanyisaganya abaddu n’ebintu eby’ebikomo bafune ebintu byammwe.
14 Out of the house of Thogarma horses and horsemen furnished the market.
“‘Ab’omu Togaluma baawanyisaganya embalaasi ez’emirimu egya bulijjo, n’embalaasi ez’entalo, n’ennyumbu bafune ebyamaguzi byo.
15 The sons of the Rhodians were your merchants; from the islands they multiplied your merchandise, [even] elephants' teeth: and to them that came in you did return your prices,
“‘Abasajja ab’e Dedani baasuubulanga naawe, era n’abatuuze ab’oku lubalama lw’ennyanja baali katale ko, nga bakusasula n’amasanga n’emitoogo.
16 [even] men [as] your merchandise, from the multitude of your trading [population], myrrh and embroidered works from Tharsis: Ramoth also and Chorchor furnished your market.
“‘Edomu baakolanga naawe eby’obusuubuzi olw’obungi bw’ebintu byo; era baawanyisanga naawe amayinja aga nnawandagala, n’engoye ez’effulungu, n’emirimu egy’eddalizo, ne linena omulungi ne kolali n’amayinja amatwakaavu bafune ebyamaguzi byo.
17 Juda and the children of Israel, these were your merchants; in the sale of corn and ointments and cassia: and they gave the best honey, and oil, and resin, to your trading [population].
“‘Yuda ne Isirayiri baakolanga naawe eby’obusuubuzi nga bawaanyisa naawe eŋŋaano eyavanga e Minnisi n’ebyakaloosa, n’omubisi gw’enjuki, n’amafuta n’envumbo, bafune ebyamaguzi byo.
18 [The people of] Damascus were your merchants by reason of the abundance of all your power; wine out of Chelbon, and wool from Miletus; and they brought wine into your market.
“‘Olw’obugagga bwo obungi, n’ebintu byo ebingi, Ddamasiko baasuubulanga naawe wayini ow’e Keruboni, n’ebyoya by’endiga ebyeru eby’e Zakari.
19 Out of Asel [came] wrought iron, and there is the sound of wheels among your trading [population].
Aba Ddaani ne Yovani (Buyonaani) abaavanga e Wuzari baawanyisanga naawe ekyuma ekiyisiddwa mu muliro n’embawo eza kasiya ne kalamo, ne bagula ebyamaguzi byo.
20 [The people of] Daedan were your merchants, with choice cattle for chariots.
“‘Dedani yakusuubulangako bulangiti ezakozesebwanga ne mu kwebagala embalaasi.
21 Arabia and all the princes of Kedar, these were your traders with you, [bringing] camels, and lambs, and rams, in which they trade with you.
“‘Buwalabu n’abalangira bonna ab’e Kedali baakusuubulangako era ne bakugulako abaana b’endiga, n’endiga ennume n’embuzi.
22 The merchants of Sabba and Ramma, these were your merchants, with choice spices, and precious stones: and they brought gold to your market.
“‘Abasuubuzi ab’e Seeba ne Laama baakolagananga naawe, nga bakusuubulako ebyakaloosa ebisinga byonna obulungi, n’amayinja gonna ag’omuwendo omungi ne zaabu, bafune ebyamaguzi byammwe.
23 Charra, and Chanaa, these were your merchants: Assur, and Charman, were your merchants:
“‘Kalani, ne Kaane ne Adeni n’abasuubuzi ab’e Seeba, Asuli, ne Kirumaadi baasuubulanga naawe.
24 bringing [for] merchandise blue, and choice stores bound with cords, and cypress wood.
Mu katale ko baasubulirangamu engoye ennungi, engoye eza bbululu, n’engoye ez’eddalizo, n’ebiwempe ebineekaneeka ebiriko emiguwa emiruke egyalukibwa obulungi.
25 Ships were your merchants, in abundance, with your trading [population]: and you were filled and very heavily loaded in the heart of the sea.
“‘Ebyombo eby’e Talusiisi bye byatambuzanga ebyamaguzi byo. Era wajjula n’oba n’ebintu bingi wakati mu nnyanja.
26 Your rowers have brought you into great waters: the south wind has broken you in the heart of the sea.
Abakubi b’enkasi bakutwala awali amayengo amangi. Naye omuyaga ogw’Ebuvanjuba gulikumenyeramenyera wakati mu nnyanja.
27 Your forces, and your gain, and that of your traders, and your rowers, and your pilots, and your counselors, and they that traffic with you, and all your warriors that are in you: and all your company in the midst of you shall perish in the heart of the sea, in the day of your fall.
Obugagga bwo n’ebyamaguzi byo n’ebikozesebwa byo, n’abalunnyanja bo, n’abagoba bo, n’abasuubuzi bo n’abaserikale bo bonna na buli muntu ali ku kyombo balibbira wakati mu nnyanja ku lunaku kw’oligwiira ku kabenje.
28 At the cry of your voice your pilots shall be greatly terrified.
Eddoboozi ly’okukaaba kw’abalunnyanja bo, kulikankanya ebyalo ebiri ku lubalama lw’ennyanja.
29 And all the rowers and the mariners shall come down from the ships, and the pilots of the sea shall stand on the land.
Abakubi b’enkasi bonna balyabulira ebyombo byabwe; n’abagoba n’abalunnyanja bonna baliyimirira ku lubalama lw’ennyanja.
30 And they shall wail over you with their voice, and cry bitterly, and put earth on their heads, and spread ashes under them.
Baliyimusa amaloboozi gaabwe ne bakukaabira nnyo; era baliteeka enfuufu ku mitwe gyabwe ne beevulunga mu vvu.
Balikumwera emitwe gyabwe, era Balyambala ebibukutu. Balikukaabira n’emmeeme ezennyamidde nga bakukungubaga n’emitima egijjudde ennyiike.
32 And their sons shall take up a [lament] for you, even a lamentation for Sor, [saying],
Balikukungubagira nga bwe bakuba ebiwoobe nga boogera nti, Ani eyali asirisibbwa nga Ttuulo eyeetooloddwa ennyanja?
33 How large a reward have you gained from the sea? you have filled nations out of your abundance; and out of your mixed merchandise you have enriched all the kings of the earth.
Bwe waweerezanga ebyamaguzi byo ku nnyanja, amawanga mangi gamalibwanga; era ne bakabaka b’ensi baagaggawazibwa eby’obugagga bwo ebingi n’ebyamaguzi byo.
34 Now are you broken in the sea, your traders are in the deep water, and all your company in the midst of you: all your rowers have fallen.
Kaakano ennyanja ekumazeewo, mu buziba bw’amazzi; ebyamaguzi byo n’ab’omu kyombo kyo bonna babbidde naawe.
35 All the dwellers in the islands have mourned over you, and their kings have been utterly amazed, and their countenance has wept.
Abantu bonna ab’oku lubalama lw’ennyanja bafunye ensisi, era ne bakabaka baabwe bajjudde entiisa tebafaananika mu maaso olw’entiisa.
36 Merchants from the nations have hissed at you; you are utterly destroyed, and shall not be any more for ever.
Abasuubuzi ab’omu mawanga bakufuuyira empa; otuuse ku nkomerero embi, so tolibeerawo nate ennaku zonna.’”
