Exodus 23
1 You shall not receive a vain report: you shall not agree with the unjust [man] to become an unjust witness.
Du maa ikke udsprede falske Rygter. Gør ikke fælles Sag med den, der har Uret, ved at optræde som uretfærdigt Vidne.
2 You shall not associate with the multitude for evil; you shall not join yourself with a multitude to turn aside with the majority so as to shut out judgment.
Du maa ikke følge Mængden i, hvad der er ondt, eller i dit Vidnesbyrd for Retten tage Hensyn til Mængden, saa du bøjer Retten.
3 And you shall not spare a poor man in judgment.
Du maa ikke tage Parti for den ringe i hans Retssag.
4 And if you meet your enemy's ox or his ass going astray, you shall turn them back and restore them to him.
Naar du træffer din Fjendes Okse eller Æsel løbende løse, skal du bringe dem tilbage til ham.
5 And if you see your enemy's ass fallen under its burden, you shall not pass by it, but shall help to raise it with him.
Naar du ser din Uvens Æsel segne under sin Byrde, maa du ikke lade ham i Stikken, men du skal hjælpe ham med at læsse Byrden af.
6 You shall not wrest the sentence of the poor in his judgment.
Du maa ikke bøje din fattige Landsmands Ret i hans Retssag.
7 You shall abstain from every unjust thing: you shall not kill the innocent and just, and you shall not justify the wicked for gifts.
Hold dig fra en uretfærdig Sag; og den, som er uskyldig og har Ret, maa du ikke berøve Livet; nej, du maa ikke skaffe den Ret, som har Uret.
8 And you shall not receive gifts; for gifts blind the eyes of the seeing, and corrupt just words.
Tag ikke mod Bestikkelse, thi Bestikkelse gør den seende blind og fordrejer Sagen for dem, der har Ret.
9 And you shall not afflict a stranger, for you know the heart of a stranger; for you were yourselves strangers in the land of Egypt.
Undertryk ikke den fremmede; I ved jo, hvorledes den fremmede er til Mode, thi I var selv fremmede i Ægypten.
10 Six years you shall sow your land, and gather in the fruits of it.
Seks Aar igennem skal du tilsaa dit Land og indsamle dets Afgrøde;
11 But in the seventh year you shall let it rest, and leave it, and the poor of your nation shall feed; and the wild beasts of the field shall eat that which remains: thus shall you do to your vineyard and to your oliveyard.
men i det syvende skal du lade det hvile og ligge urørt, saa at de fattige i dit Folk kan gøre sig til gode dermed, og Markens vilde Dyr kan æde, hvad de levner; ligesaa skal du gøre med din Vingaard og dine Oliventræer.
12 Six days shall you do your works, and on the seventh day there shall be rest, that your ox and your ass may rest, and that the son of your maidservant and the stranger may be refreshed.
I seks Dage skal du gøre dit Arbejde, men paa den syvende skal du hvile, for at dine Okser og Æsler kan faa Hvile og din Trælkvindes Søn og den fremmede hvile ud.
13 Observe all things whatever I have commanded you; and you shall make no mention of the name of other gods, neither shall they be heard out of your mouth.
Hold eder alt, hvad jeg siger eder, efterrettelig; du maa ikke nævne andre Guders Navn, det maa ikke høres i din Mund.
14 Keep you a feast to me three times in the year.
Tre Gange om Aaret skal du holde Højtid for mig.
15 Take heed to keep the feast of unleavened bread: seven days you shall eat unleavened bread, as I charged you at the season of the month of new [corn], for in it you came out of Egypt: you shall not appear before me empty.
Du skal fejre de usyrede Brøds Højtid; i syv Dage skal du spise usyret Brød, som jeg har paalagt dig, paa den fastsatte Tid i Abib Maaned, thi i den Maaned vandrede du ud af Ægypten, Man maa ikke stedes for mit Aasyn med tomme Hænder.
16 And you shall keep the feast of the harvest of first fruits of your labors, whatever you shall have sown in your field, and the feast of completion at the end of the year in the gathering in of your fruits out of your field.
Fremdeles skal du fejre Højtiden for Høsten, Førstegrøden af dit Arbejde, af hvad du saar i din Mark, og Højtiden for Frugthøsten ved Aarets Udgang, naar du har bjærget Udbyttet af dit Arbejde hjem fra Marken.
17 Three times in the year shall all your males appear before the Lord your God.
Tre Gange om Aaret skal alle dine Mænd stedes for den Herre HERRENS Aasyn.
18 For when I shall have cast out the nations from before you, and shall have widened your borders, you shall not offer the blood of my sacrifice with leaven, neither must the fat of my feast abide till the morning.
Du maa ikke ofre Blodet af mit Slagtoffer sammen med syret Brød. Fedtet fra min Højtid maa ikke gemmes til næste Morgen.
19 You shall bring the first-offerings of the first fruits of your land into the house of the Lord your God. You shall not seethe a lamb in its mother's milk.
Du skal bringe det første, Førstegrøden af din Jord, til HERREN din Guds Hus. Du maa ikke koge et Kid i dets Moders Mælk.
20 And, behold, I send my angel before your face, that he may keep you in the way, that he may bring you into the land which I have prepared for you.
Se, jeg sender en Engel foran dig for at vogte dig undervejs og føre dig til det Sted, jeg har beredt.
21 Take heed to yourself and listen to him, and disobey him not; for he will not give way to you, for my name is on him.
Tag dig vel i Vare for ham og adlyd ham; vær ikke genstridig imod ham, thi han skal ikke tilgive eders Overtrædelser, efterdi mit Navn er i ham.
22 If you will indeed hear my voice, and if you will do all the things I shall charge you with, and keep my covenant, you shall be to me a peculiar people above all nations, for the whole earth is mine; and you shall be to me a royal priesthood, and a holy nation: these words shall you speak to the children of Israel, If you shall indeed hear my voice, and do all the things I shall tell you, I will be an enemy to your enemies, and an adversary to your adversaries.
Naar du adlyder ham og gør alt, hvad jeg siger, vil jeg være dine Fjenders Fjende og dine Modstanderes Modstander,
23 For my angel shall go as your leader, and shall bring you to the Amorite, and Chettite, and Pherezite, and Chananite, and Gergesite, and Evite, and Jebusite, and I will destroy them.
Ja, min Engel skal drage foran dig og føre dig til Amoriterne, Hetiterne, Perizziterne, Kana'anæerne, Hivviterne og Jebusiterne, og jeg vil udrydde dem.
24 You shall not worship their gods, nor serve them: you shall not do according to their works, but shall utterly destroy them, and break to pieces their pillars.
Du maa ikke tilbede eller dyrke deres Guder eller følge deres Skikke; men du skal nedbryde dem og sønderslaa deres Stenstøtter.
25 And you shall serve the Lord your God, and I will bless your bread and your wine and your water, and I will turn away sickness from you.
I skal dyrke HERREN eders Gud, saa vil jeg velsigne dit Brød og dit Vand og holde Sygdomme borte fra dig.
26 There shall not be on your land one that is impotent or barren. I will surely fulfil the number of your days.
Utidige Fødsler eller Ufrugtbarhed skal ikke forekomme i dit Land, og dine Dages Maal vil jeg gøre fuldt.
27 And I will send terror before you, and I will strike with amazement all the nations to which you shall come, and I will make all your enemies to flee.
Jeg vil sende min Rædsel foran dig og bringe Bestyrtelse over alle de Folk, du kommer til, og jeg vil drive alle dine Fjender paa Flugt for dig.
28 And I will send hornets before you, and you shall cast out the Amorites and the Evites, and the Chananites and the Chettites from you.
Jeg vil sende Gedehamse foran dig, og de skal drive Hivviterne, Kana'anæerne og Hetiterne bort foran dig.
29 I will not cast them out in one year, lest the land become desolate, and the beasts of the field multiply against you.
Men jeg vil ikke drive dem bort foran dig i et og samme Aar, for at Landet ikke skal lægges øde, og for at Markens vilde Dyr ikke skal tage Overhaand for dig;
30 By little [and little] I will cast them out from before you, until you shall be increased and inherit the earth.
lidt efter lidt vil jeg drive dem bort foran dig, indtil du bliver saa talrig, at du kan tage Landet i Besiddelse.
31 And I will set your borders from the Red Sea, to the sea of the Phylistines, and from the wilderness to the great river Euphrates; and I will give into your hand those that dwell in the land, and will cast them out from you.
Jeg vil lade dine Landemærker naa fra det røde Hav til Filisternes Hav, fra Ørkenen til Floden, thi jeg giver Landets Indbyggere i eders Haand, saa du kan drive dem bort foran dig.
32 You shall make no covenant with them and their gods.
Du maa ikke slutte Pagt med dem eller deres Guder.
33 And they shall not dwell in your land, lest they cause you to sin against me; for if you should serve their gods, these will be an offense to you.
De maa ikke blive boende i dit Land, for at de ikke skal forlede dig til Synd imod mig, til at dyrke deres Guder, saa det bliver dig til en Snare!
