Kings III 5
1 And Chiram king of Tyre sent his servants to anoint Solomon in the room of David his father, because Chiram always loved David.
जब सोर देश के राजा हीराम को यह पता चला कि शलोमोन को उनके पिता दावीद के स्थान पर राजा बनाया गया है, उन्होंने शलोमोन के पास अपने राजदूतों को भेजे, दावीद हमेशा से ही हीराम के प्रिय रहे थे.
2 And Solomon sent to Chiram, saying,
शलोमोन ने राजा हीराम के लिए यह संदेश भेजा:
3 You knew my father David, that he could not build a house to the name of the Lord my God because of the wars that compassed him about, until the Lord put them under the soles of his feet.
“आपको यह तो पता ही है कि विभिन्न युद्धों में लगे रहने के कारण मेरे पिता दावीद, जब तक सभी शत्रु उनके अधीन न हो गए, तब तक अपने परमेश्वर याहवेह की महिमा के लिए भवन बनाने में असमर्थ ही रहे थे.
4 And now the Lord my God has given me rest round about; there is no one plotting against [me], and there is no evil trespass [against me].
मगर अब याहवेह, मेरे परमेश्वर ने मुझे हर तरफ़ से शांति दी है. अब न कोई मेरा शत्रु है, और न ही मुझे किसी ओर से किसी जोखिम की कोई आशंका है.
5 And, behold, I intend to build a house to the name of the Lord my God, as the Lord God spoke to my father David, saying, Your son whom I will set on your throne in your place, he shall build a house to my name.
इसलिये जैसा कि याहवेह ने मेरे पिता दावीद से कहा, ‘तुम्हारा पुत्र, जिसे मैं तुम्हारे सिंहासन पर बैठाऊंगा, वही होगा, जो मेरी महिमा के लिए भवन बनवाएगा.’ मेरी इच्छा है कि मैं याहवेह मेरे परमेश्वर की महिमा के लिए भवन बनवाऊं.
6 And now command, and let [men] cut wood for me out of Libanus: and, behold, my servants [shall be] with your servants, and I will give you the wages of your service, according to all that you shall say, because you know that we have no one skilled in cutting timber like the Sidonians.
“इसलिये आप अपने सेवकों को आदेश दें कि वे मेरे लिए लबानोन से देवदार के पेड़ कांटे. इन सेवकों के साथ मेरे सेवक भी होंगे, और मैं आपके इन सेवकों को आपके द्वारा तय किया गया वेतन देता जाऊंगा, क्योंकि यह तो आपको मालूम ही है कि हमारे बीच ऐसा कोई नहीं है, जिसे सीदोनियों के बराबर लकड़ी का काम आता हो.”
7 And it came to pass, as soon as Chiram heard the words of Solomon, that he rejoiced greatly, and said, Blessed [be] God today, who has given to David a wise son over this numerous people.
शलोमोन के ये वचन सुन हीराम बहुत ही खुश होकर कह उठा, “आज धन्य हैं याहवेह, जिन्होंने इस बड़े देश पर शासन के लिए दावीद को एक बुद्धिमान पुत्र दिया है.”
8 And he sent to Solomon, saying, I have listened concerning all that you have sent to me for: I will do all your will: [as for] timber of cedar and fir,
तब हीराम ने शलोमोन को यह संदेश भेजा: “आपके द्वारा भेजा गया संदेश मैंने सुन लिया है. देवदार और सनोवर की लकड़ी से संबंधित आपके द्वारा कहे गये सब कुछ करने के लिए मैं तैयार हूं.
9 my servants shall bring them down from Libanus to the sea: I will form them [into] rafts, [and bring them] to the place which you shall send to me [about]; and I will land them there, and you shall take [them] up: and you shall do my will, in giving bread to my household.
मेरे सेवक लकड़ी लबानोन से भूमध्य-सागर तक पहुंचा देंगे; मैं उनके बेड़े बना दूंगा, कि वे समुद्र के मार्ग से आपके द्वारा ठहराए गए स्थान तक भेजे जा सकें. वहां ये बेड़े खोल दिए जाएंगे. वहां से आप इन्हें उठा सकेंगे. आपको करना यह होगा: आप मेरे परिवार के लिए भोजन देकर मेरी भी इच्छा पूरी कर दीजिए.”
10 So Chiram gave to Solomon cedars, and fir trees, and all his desire.
शलोमोन ने देवदार और सनोवर की जितनी लकड़ी चाही उतना हीराम ने दे दी.
11 And Solomon gave to Chiram twenty thousand measures of wheat as food for his house, and twenty thousand baths of beaten oil thus Solomon gave to Chiram yearly.
दूसरी ओर शलोमोन ने हीराम को तीन हज़ार छः सौ टन गेहूं और चार लाख चालीस हज़ार लीटर शुद्ध ज़ैतून का तेल भेज दिया. शलोमोन यह हर साल करते रहे.
12 And the Lord gave wisdom to Solomon as he promised him; and there was peace between Chiram and Solomon, and they made a covenant between them.
अपनी प्रतिज्ञा के अनुसार याहवेह ने शलोमोन को बुद्धि से भर दिया. शलोमोन और हीराम के बीच मैत्रीपूर्ण संबंध थे. दोनों ने आपस में वाचा बांध ली थी.
13 And the king raised a levy out of all Israel, and the levy was thirty thousand men.
राजा शलोमोन ने सारे इस्राएल देश से इस काम के लिए बेगारी पर पुरुष लगाए, जिनकी कुल संख्या तीस हज़ार हो गई.
14 And he sent them to Libanus, ten thousand taking turn every month: they were a month in Libanus and two months at home: and Adoniram [was] over the levy.
इनमें से वह दस हज़ार को पूरे साल में बारी-बारी से हर महीने लबानोन भेज दिया करते थे. ये कर्मचारी एक महीने लबानोन में और दो महीने अपने घर में रहते थे, अदोनिरम इन सभी कर्मचारियों के ऊपर अधिकारी थे.
15 And Solomon had seventy thousand bearers of burdens, and eighty thousand hewers of stone in the mountain;
शलोमोन ने पहाड़ी क्षेत्र में सत्तर हज़ार बोझा ढोनेवाले और अस्सी हज़ार पत्थर का काम करनेवाले चुने थे.
16 besides the rulers that were appointed over the works of Solomon, [there were] three thousand six hundred masters who wrought in the works.
इन सबके अलावा पूरे काम को देखने के लिए तीन हज़ार तीन सौ अधिकारी भी चुने गए थे, कि वे सारी योजना और कर्मचारियों की गतिविधि पर नज़र रख सकें.
17 [And the king commanded and they ] [brought great stones, precious stones for the foundation of the house, and unhewn stones. ]
राजा के आदेश पर उन्होंने बड़े-बड़े कीमती पत्थर खोद निकाले, कि इन्हें तराशकर भवन की नींव के लिए इस्तेमाल किया जा सके.
18 And they prepared the stones and the timber [during] three years.
इस प्रकार शलोमोन के कर्मचारियों ने, हीराम के कर्मचारियों और गिबलियों ने मिलकर भवन बनाने के लिए लकड़ी और पत्थर तैयार किए.
