Psalms 72
1 [A Psalm] for Solomon. Give the king thy judgments, O God, and thy righteousness unto the king’s son.
(Thơ của Sa-lô-môn) Lạy Đức Chúa Trời, xin ban cho vua công lý của Chúa, và cho hoàng tử sự công chính của Ngài.
2 He shall judge thy people with righteousness, and thy poor with judgment.
Để vua xét dân cách công bằng, và liêm chính đối với người cùng khổ.
3 The mountains shall bring peace to the people, and the little hills, by righteousness.
Nguyện núi đồi cũng phải thắm tươi, khi dân cư an lạc, trị vì công minh.
4 He shall judge the poor of the people, he shall save the children of the needy, and shall break in pieces the oppressor.
Vua minh oan cho những ai khốn cùng, giải thoát con cái của những người nghèo khổ, dày xéo bọn bạo hành áp bức.
5 They shall fear thee as long as the sun and moon endure, throughout all generations.
Nguyện khi nào còn mặt trời, mặt trăng, thì người nghèo khổ vẫn còn thờ kính Chúa. Phải, cho đến muôn đời!
6 He shall come down like rain upon the mown grass: as showers [that] water the earth.
Nguyện ơn mưa móc của nhà vua, như trận mưa xuân trên đồng cỏ, nhuần tưới đất đai hoa mầu.
7 In his days shall the righteous flourish; and abundance of peace so long as the moon endureth.
Nguyện dưới triều vua, người công chính hưng thịnh và hòa bình trường cửu như trăng sao.
8 He shall have dominion also from sea to sea, and from the river unto the ends of the earth.
Vua cai trị từ biển đông đến biển tây, từ Sông Ơ-phơ-rát đến tận cùng trái đất.
9 They that dwell in the wilderness shall bow before him; and his enemies shall lick the dust.
Dân du mục sẽ vái chào trong hoang mạc và quân thù sẽ liếm bụi dưới chân vua.
10 The kings of Tarshish and of the isles shall bring presents: the kings of Sheba and Seba shall offer gifts.
Vua Ta-rê-si và các hải đảo sẽ cống hiến lễ vật cho vua, các vua phương đông từ Sê-ba và Sa-ba cũng sẽ dâng lễ vật của mình.
11 Yea, all kings shall fall down before him: all nations shall serve him.
Tất cả vua chúa sẽ quỳ lạy, các dân tộc sẽ phục vụ vua.
12 For he shall deliver the needy when he crieth; the poor also, and [him] that hath no helper.
Vì vua sẽ giải cứu người cùng túng và giúp đỡ người không còn nơi nương tựa.
13 He shall spare the poor and needy, and shall save the souls of the needy.
Vua sẽ thương xót người cùng cực, và giải cứu mạng sống người nghèo khó.
14 He shall redeem their soul from deceit and violence: and precious shall their blood be in his sight.
Vua sẽ cứu chuộc họ khỏi bạo quyền áp bức, vì trước mắt vua, máu của họ thật quý giá.
15 And he shall live, and to him shall be given of the gold of Sheba: prayer also shall be made for him continually; [and] daily shall he be praised.
Nguyện vua được trường thọ! Nguyện vàng Sê-ba sẽ được dâng lên vua. Nguyện chúng dân mãi cầu nguyện cho vua và chúc phước cho vua suốt ngày.
16 There shall be an handful of corn in the earth upon the top of the mountains; the fruit thereof shall shake like Lebanon: and [they] of the city shall flourish like grass of the earth.
Nguyện ngũ cốc tràn đầy khắp đất, dồi dào thịnh vượng trên các đỉnh núi đồi. Nguyện cây trái sinh hoa lợi bội phần như rừng Li-ban, dân cư các thành thị đông như kiến cỏ.
17 His name shall endure for ever: his name shall be continued as long as the sun: and [men] shall be blessed in him: all nations shall call him blessed.
Nguyện vua sẽ được lưu danh mãi mãi; như mặt trời chiếu sáng muôn đời. Nguyện các dân sẽ nhân danh vua để chúc lành, các nước nhìn nhận người có hồng phước.
18 Blessed [be] the LORD God, the God of Israel, who only doeth wondrous things.
Hãy ngợi tôn Đức Chúa Trời Hằng Hữu, Đức Chúa Trời của Ít-ra-ên, chỉ có Chúa làm những việc diệu kỳ.
19 And blessed [be] his glorious name for ever: and let the whole earth be filled [with] his glory; Amen, and Amen.
Hãy chúc tụng Danh vinh quang Ngài mãi! Cả thế gian đầy dẫy vinh quang Ngài. A-men và A-men!
20 The prayers of David the son of Jesse are ended.
