Psalms 52

1 To the chief Musician, Maschil, [A Psalm] of David, when Doeg the Edomite came and told Saul, and said unto him, David is come to the house of Ahimelech. Why boastest thou thyself in mischief, O mighty man? the goodness of God [endureth] continually.

സംഗീതസംവിധായകന്. ദാവീദിന്റെ ഒരു ധ്യാനസങ്കീർത്തനം. ഏദോമ്യനായ ദോയേഗ് ചെന്നു ശൗലിനോട്: “ദാവീദ് അഹീമെലെക്കിന്റെ വീട്ടിൽ വന്നിരുന്നു” എന്നറിയിച്ചപ്പോൾ ചമച്ചതു. സമർഥനായ യോദ്ധാവേ, നീ നിന്റെ അധർമത്തിൽ അഹങ്കരിക്കുന്നതെന്തിന്? ദൈവദൃഷ്ടിയിൽ നിന്ദിതനായിത്തീർന്ന നീ, ദിവസംമുഴുവനും അഹങ്കരിക്കുന്നതെന്തേ?

2 Thy tongue deviseth mischiefs; like a sharp razor, working deceitfully.

വഞ്ചന വിതയ്ക്കുന്നവരേ, നിന്റെ നാവ് നാശം ആസൂത്രണംചെയ്യുന്നു; അതു മൂർച്ചയേറിയ ക്ഷൗരക്കത്തിപോലെയാണ്.

3 Thou lovest evil more than good; [and] lying rather than to speak righteousness. (Selah)

നീ നന്മയെക്കാൾ തിന്മ ഇഷ്ടപ്പെടുന്നു സത്യം സംസാരിക്കുന്നതിനെക്കാൾ നിനക്കിഷ്ടം വ്യാജമാണ്. (സേലാ)

4 Thou lovest all devouring words, O [thou] deceitful tongue.

വഞ്ചനനിറഞ്ഞ നാവേ, നാശകരമായ എല്ലാ വാക്കുകളും നിനക്കിഷ്ടമാണ്!

5 God shall likewise destroy thee for ever, he shall take thee away, and pluck thee out of [thy] dwelling place, and root thee out of the land of the living. (Selah)

ദൈവം നിന്നെ നിത്യനാശത്തിലേക്കു വലിച്ചിഴയ്ക്കും, നിശ്ചയം: അവിടന്ന് നിന്നെ നിന്റെ കൂടാരത്തിൽനിന്നു പറിച്ചെടുത്ത് ചീന്തിക്കളയും; ജീവനുള്ളവരുടെ ദേശത്തുനിന്ന് അവിടന്ന് നിന്നെ വേരോടെ പിഴുതെറിയും. (സേലാ)

6 The righteous also shall see, and fear, and shall laugh at him:

നീതിനിഷ്ഠർ അതുകണ്ടു ഭയപ്പെടും; നിന്നെ പരിഹസിച്ചുകൊണ്ട് അവർ ഇപ്രകാരം പറയും,

7 Lo, [this is] the man [that] made not God his strength; but trusted in the abundance of his riches, [and] strengthened himself in his wickedness.

“ദൈവത്തെ തന്റെ അഭയസ്ഥാനമായി കാണാതെ സ്വന്തം സമ്പൽസമൃദ്ധിയിൽ ആശ്രയിച്ചുകൊണ്ട് മറ്റുള്ളവരെ നശിപ്പിച്ച് ശക്തനായിത്തീർന്ന ആ മനുഷ്യൻ ഇതാ!”

8 But I [am] like a green olive tree in the house of God: I trust in the mercy of God for ever and ever.

ഞാനോ, ദൈവഭവനത്തിൽ തഴച്ചുവളരുന്ന ഒരു ഒലിവുമരംപോലെയല്ലോ; ദൈവത്തിന്റെ അചഞ്ചലസ്നേഹത്തിൽ ഞാൻ എന്നുമെന്നും ആശ്രയിക്കുന്നു.

9 I will praise thee for ever, because thou hast done [it: ] and I will wait on thy name; for [it is] good before thy saints.

അവിടത്തെ വിശ്വസ്തരുടെ സാന്നിധ്യത്തിൽ അങ്ങ് ചെയ്ത അനുഗ്രഹങ്ങളെയോർത്ത് എന്നെന്നും ഞാൻ അങ്ങേക്ക് സ്തോത്രാർപ്പണംചെയ്യും. അവിടത്തെ നാമത്തിൽ ഞാൻ പ്രത്യാശയർപ്പിക്കും അവിടത്തെ വിശ്വസ്തർക്കത് അനുയോജ്യമല്ലോ.
