Psalms 42

1 To the chief Musician, Maschil, for the sons of Korah. As the hart panteth after the water brooks, so panteth my soul after thee, O God.

۱ برای سالار مغنیان. قصیده بنی قورح چنانکه آهو برای نهرهای آب شدت اشتیاق دارد، همچنان‌ای خدا جان من اشتیاق شدید برای تو دارد.

2 My soul thirsteth for God, for the living God: when shall I come and appear before God?

۲ جان من تشنه خداست تشنه خدای حی، که کی بیایم و به حضور خدا حاضر شوم.

3 My tears have been my meat day and night, while they continually say unto me, Where [is] thy God?

۳ اشکهایم روز و شب نان من می‌بود، چون تمامی روز مرا می‌گفتند: «خدای تو کجاست؟»

4 When I remember these [things], I pour out my soul in me: for I had gone with the multitude, I went with them to the house of God, with the voice of joy and praise, with a multitude that kept holyday.

۴ چون این را بیاد می‌آورم جان خود را بر خود می‌ریزم. چگونه با جماعت می‌رفتم و ایشان را به خانه خدا پیشروی می‌کردم، به آواز ترنم و تسبیح در گروه عیدکنندگان.

5 Why art thou cast down, O my soul? and [why] art thou disquieted in me? hope thou in God: for I shall yet praise him [for] the help of his countenance.

۵ ‌ای جانم چرا منحنی شده‌ای و چرا درمن پریشان گشته‌ای؟ بر خدا امید دار زیرا که او رابرای نجات روی او باز حمد خواهم گفت.

6 O my God, my soul is cast down within me: therefore will I remember thee from the land of Jordan, and of the Hermonites, from the hill Mizar.

۶ ‌ای خدای من، جانم در من منحنی شد. بنابراین تو را از زمین اردن یاد خواهم کرد، ازکوههای حرمون و از جبل مصغر.

7 Deep calleth unto deep at the noise of thy waterspouts: all thy waves and thy billows are gone over me.

۷ لجه به لجه ندا می‌دهد از آواز آبشارهای تو جمیع خیزابها وموجهای تو بر من گذشته است.

8 [Yet] the LORD will command his lovingkindness in the daytime, and in the night his song [shall be] with me, [and] my prayer unto the God of my life.

۸ در روز خداوندرحمت خود را خواهد فرمود. و در شب سرود اوبا من خواهد بود و دعا نزد خدای حیات من.

9 I will say unto God my rock, Why hast thou forgotten me? why go I mourning because of the oppression of the enemy?

۹ به خدا گفته‌ام: «ای صخره من چرا مرا فراموش کرده‌ای؟» چرا به‌سبب ظلم دشمن ماتم‌کنان ترددبکنم؟

10 [As] with a sword in my bones, mine enemies reproach me; while they say daily unto me, Where [is] thy God?

۱۰ دشمنانم به کوبیدگی در استخوانهایم مرا ملامت می‌کنند، چونکه همه روزه مرامی گویند: «خدای تو کجاست؟»

11 Why art thou cast down, O my soul? and why art thou disquieted within me? hope thou in God: for I shall yet praise him, [who is] the health of my countenance, and my God.

۱۱ ‌ای جان من چرا منحنی شده و چرا در من پریشان گشته‌ای؟ بر خدا امید دار زیرا که او را باز حمد خواهم گفت، که نجات روی من و خدای من است.
