Psalms 144
1 [A Psalm] of David. Blessed [be] the LORD my strength, which teacheth my hands to war, [and] my fingers to fight:
Alabado sea el Dios de mi fortaleza, enseñando a mis manos el uso de la espada, y a mis dedos el arte de luchar;
2 My goodness, and my fortress; my high tower, and my deliverer; my shield, and [he] in whom I trust; who subdueth my people under me.
Él es mi fortaleza y mi Roca; mi alta torre y mi salvador; mi guardián y mi esperanza: él me da autoridad sobre mi gente.
3 LORD, what [is] man, that thou takest knowledge of him! [or] the son of man, that thou makest account of him!
Señor, ¿qué es el hombre, que lo tienes en mente? o el hijo del hombre que lo tomas en cuenta?
4 Man is like to vanity: his days [are] as a shadow that passeth away.
El hombre es como un aliento: su vida es como una sombra que se va rápidamente.
5 Bow thy heavens, O LORD, and come down: touch the mountains, and they shall smoke.
Desciende, oh SEÑOR, de tus cielos; toca y deja que las montañas emitan humo.
6 Cast forth lightning, and scatter them: shoot out thine arrows, and destroy them.
Con tus relámpagos envíalos en vuelo: envía tus flechas para su destrucción.
7 Send thine hand from above; rid me, and deliver me out of great waters, from the hand of strange children;
Extiende tu mano de lo alto; líbrame, sácame a salvo de las grandes aguas, y de las manos de hombres extraños;
8 Whose mouth speaketh vanity, and their right hand [is] a right hand of falsehood.
En cuyas bocas hay palabras falsas, Y su diestra es diestra de mentira.
9 I will sing a new song unto thee, O God: upon a psaltery [and] an instrument of ten strings will I sing praises unto thee.
Te haré una nueva canción, oh Dios; Te haré melodía en un instrumento de diez cuerdas y salterio.
10 [It is he] that giveth salvation unto kings: who delivereth David his servant from the hurtful sword.
Dios es quien da salvación a los reyes; y quien mantuvo a su siervo David de la espada hiriente.
11 Rid me, and deliver me from the hand of strange children, whose mouth speaketh vanity, and their right hand [is] a right hand of falsehood:
Hazme libre, y sácame de las manos de hombres extraños, en cuyas bocas hay palabras falsas, y cuya diestra es diestra de mentira.
12 That our sons [may be] as plants grown up in their youth; [that] our daughters [may be] as corner stones, polished [after] the similitude of a palace:
Nuestros hijos son como plantas altas y jóvenes; y nuestras hijas como las piedras brillantes de la casa de un rey;
13 [That] our garners [may be] full, affording all manner of store: [that] our sheep may bring forth thousands and ten thousands in our streets:
Nuestros almacenes están llenos de todas las cosas buenas; y nuestras ovejas dan a luz a miles y a miles en nuestros campos.
14 [That] our oxen [may be] strong to labour; [that there be] no breaking in, nor going out; that [there be] no complaining in our streets.
Nuestros bueyes están bien cargados; nuestras vacas dan a luz de manera segura; no hay salida, y no hay grito de dolor en nuestros lugares abiertos.
15 Happy [is that] people, that is in such a case: [yea], happy [is that] people, whose God [is] the LORD.
Feliz es la nación cuyos caminos están tan ordenados; sí, feliz es la nación cuyo Dios es el Señor.
