Proverbs 28
1 The wicked flee when no man pursueth: but the righteous are bold as a lion.
Huye el impío sin que nadie le persiga: mas el justo está confiado como un leoncillo.
2 For the transgression of a land many [are] the princes thereof: but by a man of understanding [and] knowledge the state [thereof] shall be prolonged.
Por la rebelión de la tierra sus príncipes son muchos: mas por el hombre entendido y sabio permanecerá sin mutación.
3 A poor man that oppresseth the poor [is like] a sweeping rain which leaveth no food.
El hombre pobre, y robador de los pobres es lluvia de avenida, y sin pan.
4 They that forsake the law praise the wicked: but such as keep the law contend with them.
Los que dejan la ley, alaban al impío: mas los que la guardan, contenderán con ellos.
5 Evil men understand not judgment: but they that seek the LORD understand all [things].
Los hombres malos no entienden el juicio: mas los que buscan a Jehová, entienden todas las cosas.
6 Better [is] the poor that walketh in his uprightness, than [he that is] perverse [in his] ways, though he [be] rich.
Mejor es el pobre que camina en su perfección, que el de perversos caminos, y rico.
7 Whoso keepeth the law [is] a wise son: but he that is a companion of riotous [men] shameth his father.
El que guarda la ley, es hijo prudente: mas el que es compañero de glotones, avergüenza a su padre.
8 He that by usury and unjust gain increaseth his substance, he shall gather it for him that will pity the poor.
El que aumenta sus riquezas con usura y recambio, para que se dé a los pobres lo allega.
9 He that turneth away his ear from hearing the law, even his prayer [shall be] abomination.
El que aparta su oído por no oír la ley, su oración también será abominable.
10 Whoso causeth the righteous to go astray in an evil way, he shall fall himself into his own pit: but the upright shall have good [things] in possession.
El que hace errar a los rectos por el mal camino, él caerá en su misma sima: mas los perfectos heredarán el bien.
11 The rich man [is] wise in his own conceit; but the poor that hath understanding searcheth him out.
El hombre rico es sabio en su opinión: mas el pobre entendido le examinará.
12 When righteous [men] do rejoice, [there is] great glory: but when the wicked rise, a man is hidden.
Cuando los justos se alegran, grande es la gloria; y cuando los impíos son levantados, el hombre será buscado.
13 He that covereth his sins shall not prosper: but whoso confesseth and forsaketh [them] shall have mercy.
El que encubre sus pecados, nunca prosperará: mas el que confiesa, y se aparta, alcanzará misericordia.
14 Happy [is] the man that feareth alway: but he that hardeneth his heart shall fall into mischief.
Bienaventurado el hombre que siempre teme: mas el que endurece su corazón, caerá en mal.
15 [As] a roaring lion, and a ranging bear; [so is] a wicked ruler over the poor people.
León bramador, y oso hambriento es el príncipe impío sobre el pueblo pobre.
16 The prince that wanteth understanding [is] also a great oppressor: [but] he that hateth covetousness shall prolong [his] days.
El príncipe falto de entendimiento multiplica los agravios: mas el que aborrece la avaricia, alargará los días.
17 A man that doeth violence to the blood of [any] person shall flee to the pit; let no man stay him.
El hombre que hace violencia con sangre de persona, hasta el sepulcro huirá; y nadie le sustentará.
18 Whoso walketh uprightly shall be saved: but [he that is] perverse [in his] ways shall fall at once.
El que camina en integridad, será salvo: mas el de perversos caminos, caerá en alguno.
19 He that tilleth his land shall have plenty of bread: but he that followeth after vain [persons] shall have poverty enough.
El que labra su tierra se hartará de pan: mas el que sigue a los ociosos, se hartará de pobreza.
20 A faithful man shall abound with blessings: but he that maketh haste to be rich shall not be innocent.
El hombre de verdad tendrá muchas bendiciones: mas el que se apresura a enriquecer, no será sin culpa.
21 To have respect of persons [is] not good: for for a piece of bread [that] man will transgress.
Tener respeto a personas en el juicio, no es bueno: aun por un bocado de pan prevaricará el hombre.
22 He that hasteth to be rich [hath] an evil eye, and considereth not that poverty shall come upon him.
Apresúrase a ser rico el hombre de mal ojo, y no conoce que le ha de venir pobreza.
23 He that rebuketh a man afterwards shall find more favour than he that flattereth with the tongue.
El que reprende al hombre que vuelve atrás, hallará gracia, más que el que lisonjea con la lengua.
24 Whoso robbeth his father or his mother, and saith, [It is] no transgression; the same [is] the companion of a destroyer.
El que roba a su padre y a su madre, y dice que no es maldad, compañero es del hombre destruidor.
25 He that is of a proud heart stirreth up strife: but he that putteth his trust in the LORD shall be made fat.
El altivo de ánimo revuelve contiendas: mas el que confía en Jehová, engordará.
26 He that trusteth in his own heart is a fool: but whoso walketh wisely, he shall be delivered.
El que confía en su corazón es insensato: mas el que camina en sabiduría, él escapará.
27 He that giveth unto the poor shall not lack: but he that hideth his eyes shall have many a curse.
El que da al pobre, nunca tendrá pobreza: mas el que del pobre aparta sus ojos, tendrá muchas maldiciones.
28 When the wicked rise, men hide themselves: but when they perish, the righteous increase.
Cuando los impíos son levantados, el hombre cuerdo se esconderá: mas cuando perecen, los justos se multiplican.
