Mark 11
1 And when they came nigh to Jerusalem, unto Bethphage and Bethany, at the mount of Olives, he sendeth forth two of his disciples,
Quand ils furent près de Jérusalem, de Béthanie et de Bethphagé, du côté du mont des Oliviers, Jésus envoya deux de ses disciples, en leur disant:
2 And saith unto them, Go your way into the village over against you: and as soon as ye be entered into it, ye shall find a colt tied, whereon never man sat; loose him, and bring [him].
«Allez à ce village qui est devant vous; et tout de suite, à l'entrée, vous trouverez un ânon attaché, que personne n'a jamais monté. Détachez-le et l'amenez.
3 And if any man say unto you, Why do ye this? say ye that the Lord hath need of him; and straightway he will send him hither.
Si l'on vous demande pourquoi vous faites cela, répondez: Le Seigneur en a besoin et on l'enverra immédiatement ici.»
4 And they went their way, and found the colt tied by the door without in a place where two ways met; and they loose him.
Ils partirent et, au détour du chemin, ils trouvèrent l'ânon attaché tout contre une porte extérieure; ils le délièrent.
5 And certain of them that stood there said unto them, What do ye, loosing the colt?
Quelques-uns de ceux qui étaient là leur dirent: «Que faites-vous? Pourquoi détachez-vous cet ânon?»
6 And they said unto them even as Jesus had commanded: and they let them go.
Ils répondirent ce que Jésus leur avait dit; et on les laissa faire. Ils amenèrent donc l'ânon,
7 And they brought the colt to Jesus, and cast their garments on him; and he sat upon him.
sur lequel ils placèrent leurs manteaux, à Jésus, qui s'assit sur lui.
8 And many spread their garments in the way: and others cut down branches off the trees, and strawed [them] in the way.
Sur le chemin, un grand nombre étendirent leurs vêtements et d'autres des rameaux coupés dans les champs.
9 And they that went before, and they that followed, cried, saying, Hosanna; Blessed [is] he that cometh in the name of the Lord:
Et ceux qui le précédaient et ceux qui le suivaient criaient: «Hosanna! Béni soit celui qui vient au nom du Seigneur!
10 Blessed [be] the kingdom of our father David, that cometh in the name of the Lord: Hosanna in the highest.
Béni soit le Règne qui commence, le Règne de notre père David! Hosanna au plus haut des cieux!»
11 And Jesus entered into Jerusalem, and into the temple: and when he had looked round about upon all things, and now the eventide was come, he went out unto Bethany with the twelve.
Il entra à Jérusalem et pénétra dans le Temple. Il promena autour de lui son regard sur toutes choses, et comme l'heure s'avançait, il partit avec les douze pour Béthanie.
12 And on the morrow, when they were come from Bethany, he was hungry:
Le lendemain, comme ils sortaient de Béthanie, il eut faim.
13 And seeing a fig tree afar off having leaves, he came, if haply he might find any thing thereon: and when he came to it, he found nothing but leaves; for the time of figs was not [yet].
Apercevant de loin un figuier couvert de feuilles, il y alla pourvoir s'il n'y découvrirait pas quelque fruit; mais quand il s'en fut approché, il n'y trouva que des feuilles. En effet, ce n'était pas encore le moment des figues.
14 And Jesus answered and said unto it, No man eat fruit of thee hereafter for ever. And his disciples heard [it.] (aiōn g165)
Alors il s'adressa à l'arbre et lui dit: «Que personne ne mange désormais de ton fruit!» Ce mot fut entendu des disciples. (aiōn g165)
15 And they come to Jerusalem: and Jesus went into the temple, and began to cast out them that sold and bought in the temple, and overthrew the tables of the moneychangers, and the seats of them that sold doves;
Quand ils furent arrivés à Jérusalem, Jésus entra dans le Temple et se mit à chasser les vendeurs et les acheteurs; il renversa les tables des changeurs, ainsi que les sièges des marchands de colombes;
16 And would not suffer that any man should carry [any] vessel through the temple.
de plus, il ne laissait personne, portant un objet quelconque, passer par le Temple.
17 And he taught, saying unto them, Is it not written, My house shall be called of all nations the house of prayer? but ye have made it a den of thieves.
Et voici ce qu'il enseignait: «N'est-il pas écrit: «Ma maison s'appellera, pour tous les peuples, maison de prière? Et vous, vous en avez fait une caverne de brigands!»
18 And the scribes and chief priests heard [it], and sought how they might destroy him: for they feared him, because all the people was astonished at his doctrine.
En l'entendant, les chefs des prêtres et les Scribes cherchaient par quels moyens ils le feraient périr. En effet, ils avaient peur de lui à cause du peuple, qui, tout entier, était extrêmement frappé de son enseignement.
19 And when even was come, he went out of the city.
Quand venait le soir, ils sortaient de la ville;
20 And in the morning, as they passed by, they saw the fig tree dried up from the roots.
or, en repassant le matin, ils virent le figuier desséché jusqu'à la racine.
21 And Peter calling to remembrance saith unto him, Master, behold, the fig tree which thou cursedst is withered away.
Se souvenant de ce qui s'était passé, Pierre dit à Jésus: «Rabbi, voici le figuier que tu as maudit; il s'est desséché.»
22 And Jesus answering saith unto them, Have faith in God.
Jésus alors, s'adressant à tous, leur dit: «Ayez foi en Dieu!
23 For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith.
En vérité, je vous le dis: Si quelqu’un dit à cette montagne, sans aucune hésitation dans son coeur, et en croyant à l'accomplissement de sa parole: «Soulève-toi, et jette-toi dans la mer», cela lui sera accordé.
24 Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive [them], and ye shall have [them].
C'est pourquoi je vous dis: Croyez que vous recevrez tout ce que vous demandez dans votre prière, et tout vous sera accordé.
25 And when ye stand praying, forgive, if ye have ought against any: that your Father also which is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses.
En outre, quand vous vous mettez à prier, pardonnez à toute personne contre qui vous pourriez avoir quelque chose, afin que votre Père qui est dans les cieux vous pardonne aussi vos offenses.»
26 But if ye do not forgive, neither will your Father which is in heaven forgive your trespasses.
(Si vous ne pardonnez pas, votre Père qui est dans les cieux ne vous pardonnera pas non plus vos offenses).
27 And they come again to Jerusalem: and as he was walking in the temple, there come to him the chief priests, and the scribes, and the elders,
Ils étaient retournés à Jérusalem; et comme il allait et venait dans le Temple, les chefs des prêtres, les Scribes et les Anciens s'approchèrent de lui
28 And say unto him, By what authority doest thou these things? and who gave thee this authority to do these things?
et lui dirent: «En vertu de quelle autorité fais-tu ces choses? ou qui t'a donné l'autorité de les faire?»
29 And Jesus answered and said unto them, I will also ask of you one question, and answer me, and I will tell you by what authority I do these things.
Jésus leur répondit: «Je vous ferai, moi aussi, une question, une seule. Répondez-moi et je vous dirai en vertu de quelle autorité je fais ces choses:
30 The baptism of John, was [it] from heaven, or of men? answer me.
Le baptême de Jean venait-il du ciel ou des hommes? Répondez-moi.»
31 And they reasoned with themselves, saying, If we shall say, From heaven; he will say, Why then did ye not believe him?
Or ils faisaient, à part eux, ce raisonnement: «Si nous répondons: Du ciel, il dira: Pourquoi donc ne l'avez vous pas cru?
32 But if we shall say, Of men; they feared the people: for all [men] counted John, that he was a prophet indeed.
Répondrons-nous alors: Des hommes?....» Ici ils avaient à craindre la foule; car tout le monde tenait Jean pour un prophète.
33 And they answered and said unto Jesus, We cannot tell. And Jesus answering saith unto them, Neither do I tell you by what authority I do these things.
Alors ils répondirent ainsi à Jésus: «Nous ne savons.» Jésus répliqua: «Je ne vous dis pas, moi non plus, en vertu de quelle autorité je fais ces choses.»
