Job 17

1 My breath is corrupt, my days are extinct, the graves [are ready] for me.

۱ «روح من تلف شده، و روزهایم تمام گردیده، و قبر برای من حاضر است.

2 [Are there] not mockers with me? and doth not mine eye continue in their provocation?

۲ به درستی که استهزاکنندگان نزد منند، و چشم من در منازعت ایشان دائم می‌ماند.

3 Lay down now, put me in a surety with thee; who [is] he [that] will strike hands with me?

۳ الان گرو بده و به جهت من نزد خود ضامن باش. والا کیست که به من دست دهد؟

4 For thou hast hid their heart from understanding: therefore shalt thou not exalt [them].

۴ چونکه دل ایشان را از حکمت منع کرده‌ای، بنابراین ایشان را بلند نخواهی ساخت.

5 He that speaketh flattery to [his] friends, even the eyes of his children shall fail.

۵ کسی‌که دوستان خود را به تاراج تسلیم کند، چشمان فرزندانش تار خواهد شد.

6 He hath made me also a byword of the people; and aforetime I was as a tabret.

۶ مرا نزدامت‌ها مثل ساخته است، و مثل کسی‌که بر رویش آب دهان اندازند شده‌ام.

7 Mine eye also is dim by reason of sorrow, and all my members [are] as a shadow.

۷ چشم من از غصه کاهیده شده است، و تمامی اعضایم مثل سایه گردیده.

8 Upright [men] shall be astonied at this, and the innocent shall stir up himself against the hypocrite.

۸ راستان به‌سبب این، حیران می‌مانند وصالحان خویشتن را بر ریاکاران برمی انگیزانند.

9 The righteous also shall hold on his way, and he that hath clean hands shall be stronger and stronger.

۹ لیکن مرد عادل به طریق خود متمسک می‌شود، و کسی‌که دست پاک دارد، در قوت ترقی خواهدنمود.

10 But as for you all, do ye return, and come now: for I cannot find [one] wise [man] among you.

۱۰ «اما همه شما برگشته، الان بیایید و در میان شما حکیمی نخواهم یافت.

11 My days are past, my purposes are broken off, [even] the thoughts of my heart.

۱۱ روزهای من گذشته، و قصدهای من و فکرهای دلم منقطع شده است.

12 They change the night into day: the light [is] short because of darkness.

۱۲ شب را به روز تبدیل می‌کنند و باوجود تاریکی می‌گویند روشنایی نزدیک است.

13 If I wait, the grave [is] mine house: I have made my bed in the darkness. (Sheol h7585)

۱۳ وقتی که امید دارم هاویه خانه من می‌باشد، وبستر خود را در تاریکی می‌گسترانم، (Sheol h7585)

14 I have said to corruption, Thou [art] my father: to the worm, [Thou art] my mother, and my sister.

۱۴ و به هلاکت می‌گویم تو پدر من هستی و به کرم که تومادر و خواهر من می‌باشی.

15 And where [is] now my hope? as for my hope, who shall see it?

۱۵ پس امید من کجااست؟ و کیست که امید مرا خواهد دید؟

16 They shall go down to the bars of the pit, when [our] rest together [is] in the dust. (Sheol h7585)

۱۶ تابندهای هاویه فرو می‌رود، هنگامی که با هم درخاک نزول (نماییم ).» (Sheol h7585)
