Ezekiel 9
1 He cried also in mine ears with a loud voice, saying, Cause them that have charge over the city to draw near, even every man [with] his destroying weapon in his hand.
Chúa Hằng Hữu phán lớn tiếng: “Gọi các đao phủ của thành! Bảo chúng cầm khí giới đến đây!”
2 And, behold, six men came from the way of the higher gate, which lieth toward the north, and every man a slaughter weapon in his hand; and one man among them [was] clothed with linen, with a writer’s inkhorn by his side: and they went in, and stood beside the brasen altar.
Sáu người xuất hiện từ cửa trên, ở phía bắc, mỗi người đều cầm khí giới giết người trong tay. Cùng đi với họ có một người mặc áo vải gai, hông đeo hộp bút mực. Tất cả họ vào sân Đền Thờ và đứng bên bàn thờ đồng.
3 And the glory of the God of Israel was gone up from the cherub, whereupon he was, to the threshold of the house. And he called to the man clothed with linen, which [had] the writer’s inkhorn by his side;
Vinh quang Đức Chúa Trời của Ít-ra-ên chiếu ra từ giữa các chê-ru-bim, nơi thường ngự, và dừng lại nơi ngạch cửa Đền Thờ. Chúa Hằng Hữu gọi người mặc áo vải gai đang đeo hộp bút mực.
4 And the LORD said unto him, Go through the midst of the city, through the midst of Jerusalem, and set a mark upon the foreheads of the men that sigh and that cry for all the abominations that be done in the midst thereof.
Ngài phán với người ấy: “Hãy đi khắp đường phố Giê-ru-sa-lem và ghi dấu trên trán những người khóc lóc than vãn vì tội ác ghê tởm đã phạm trong thành này.”
5 And to the others he said in mine hearing, Go ye after him through the city, and smite: let not your eye spare, neither have ye pity:
Tôi nghe Chúa Hằng Hữu phán bảo những người khác: “Hãy đi theo sau nó khắp thành phố và giết những người không có dấu trên trán. Đừng tiếc thương; đừng thương hại!
6 Slay utterly old [and] young, both maids, and little children, and women: but come not near any man upon whom [is] the mark; and begin at my sanctuary. Then they began at the ancient men which [were] before the house.
Hãy giết tất cả—người già và người trẻ, đàn bà, con gái, và trẻ con. Nhưng đừng đụng đến người có ghi dấu. Bắt đầu từ Đền Thờ.” Vậy họ bắt đầu giết bảy mươi trưởng lão trước.
7 And he said unto them, Defile the house, and fill the courts with the slain: go ye forth. And they went forth, and slew in the city.
Chúa Hằng Hữu ra lệnh: “Hãy làm nhơ bẩn Đền Thờ! Hãy vứt xác chết đầy sân. Đi đi!” Vậy, chúng đi và bắt đầu hủy diệt khắp thành.
8 And it came to pass, while they were slaying them, and I was left, that I fell upon my face, and cried, and said, Ah Lord GOD! wilt thou destroy all the residue of Israel in thy pouring out of thy fury upon Jerusalem?
Trong khi những người đó đang giết bên ngoài, tôi ở lại một mình. Tôi sấp mặt xuống đất và kêu xin: “Lạy Chúa Hằng Hữu Chí Cao! Cơn giận Chúa sẽ tuyệt diệt tất cả người còn lại của Ít-ra-ên vì Ngài giận Giê-ru-sa-lem sao?”
9 Then said he unto me, The iniquity of the house of Israel and Judah [is] exceeding great, and the land is full of blood, and the city full of perverseness: for they say, The LORD hath forsaken the earth, and the LORD seeth not.
Chúa phán với tôi: “Tội lỗi Ít-ra-ên và Giu-đa thật lớn. Toàn xứ đầy dẫy kẻ sát nhân; thành đầy dẫy bất công. Chúng còn nói: ‘Chúa Hằng Hữu không nhìn thấy đâu! Chúa Hằng Hữu đã lìa bỏ xứ này!’
10 And as for me also, mine eye shall not spare, neither will I have pity, [but] I will recompense their way upon their head.
Vậy, Ta sẽ chẳng tiếc, chẳng thương chúng, Ta sẽ báo trả mọi việc chúng đã làm.”
11 And, behold, the man clothed with linen, which [had] the inkhorn by his side, reported the matter, saying, I have done as thou hast commanded me.
Lúc ấy, người mặc áo vải gai, đeo hộp bút mực về phúc trình: “Tôi đã làm xong mệnh lệnh Ngài truyền.”
