Deuteronomy 23

1 He that is wounded in the stones, or hath his privy member cut off, shall not enter into the congregation of the LORD.

Ο έχων τα κρύφια αυτού τεθλασμένα ή αποκεκομμένα δεν θέλει εισέλθει εις την συναγωγήν του Κυρίου.

2 A bastard shall not enter into the congregation of the LORD; even to his tenth generation shall he not enter into the congregation of the LORD.

Ο νόθος δεν θέλει εισέλθει εις την συναγωγήν του Κυρίου· έως δεκάτης γενεάς αυτού δεν θέλει εισέλθει εις την συναγωγήν του Κυρίου.

3 An Ammonite or Moabite shall not enter into the congregation of the LORD; even to their tenth generation shall they not enter into the congregation of the LORD for ever:

Αμμωνίτης και Μωαβίτης δεν θέλει εισέλθει εις την συναγωγήν του Κυρίου· έως δεκάτης γενεάς αυτών ουδέποτε θέλουσιν εισέλθει εις την συναγωγήν του Κυρίου.

4 Because they met you not with bread and with water in the way, when ye came forth out of Egypt; and because they hired against thee Balaam the son of Beor of Pethor of Mesopotamia, to curse thee.

Διότι δεν σας προϋπήντησαν με άρτον και ύδωρ εν τη οδώ, ότε εξήρχεσθε εξ Αιγύπτου· και διότι εμίσθωσαν κατά σου τον Βαλαάμ τον υιόν του Βεώρ εκ Φεθορά της Μεσοποταμίας, διά να σε καταρασθή.

5 Nevertheless the LORD thy God would not hearken unto Balaam; but the LORD thy God turned the curse into a blessing unto thee, because the LORD thy God loved thee.

Αλλά Κύριος ο Θεός σου δεν ηθέλησε να εισακούση του Βαλαάμ· αλλά Κύριος ο Θεός σου μετέβαλε την κατάραν εις ευλογίαν προς σε, διότι Κύριος ο Θεός σου σε ηγάπησε.

6 Thou shalt not seek their peace nor their prosperity all thy days for ever.

Δεν θέλεις ζητήσει την ειρήνην αυτών ουδέ την ευτυχίαν αυτών πάσας τας ημέρας σου εις τον αιώνα.

7 Thou shalt not abhor an Edomite; for he [is] thy brother: thou shalt not abhor an Egyptian; because thou wast a stranger in his land.

Δεν θέλεις βδελύττεσθαι τον Ιδουμαίον, διότι είναι αδελφός σου· δεν θέλεις βδελύττεσθαι τον Αιγύπτιον, διότι εστάθης ξένος εν τη γη αυτού.

8 The children that are begotten of them shall enter into the congregation of the LORD in their third generation.

Τα παιδία, όσα γεννηθώσιν εξ αυτών, θέλουσιν εισέλθει εις την συναγωγήν του Κυρίου εν τη τρίτη γενεά αυτών.

9 When the host goeth forth against thine enemies, then keep thee from every wicked thing.

Όταν εκστρατεύης επί τους εχθρούς σου, φυλάττου από παντός κακού πράγματος.

10 If there be among you any man, that is not clean by reason of uncleanness that chanceth him by night, then shall he go abroad out of the camp, he shall not come within the camp:

Εάν ήναι εν μέσω σου άνθρωπος, όστις δεν είναι καθαρός, εκ τινός συμβάντος εις αυτόν την νύκτα, θέλει εξέλθει έξω του στρατοπέδου, δεν θέλει εισέλθει εντός του στρατοπέδου·

11 But it shall be, when evening cometh on, he shall wash [himself] with water: and when the sun is down, he shall come into the camp [again].

και προς την εσπέραν θέλει λουσθή εν ύδατι και δύοντος του ηλίου θέλει εισέλθει εντός του στρατοπέδου.

12 Thou shalt have a place also without the camp, whither thou shalt go forth abroad:

Και θέλεις έχει τόπον έξω του στρατοπέδου και θέλεις εξέλθει εκεί έξω·

13 And thou shalt have a paddle upon thy weapon; and it shall be, when thou wilt ease thyself abroad, thou shalt dig therewith, and shalt turn back and cover that which cometh from thee:

και θέλεις έχει πτυάριον μικρόν μεταξύ των όπλων σου· και όταν κάθησαι έξω, θέλεις σκάπτει δι' αυτού, και θέλεις στρέψει και σκεπάσει το εξερχόμενον από σου.

14 For the LORD thy God walketh in the midst of thy camp, to deliver thee, and to give up thine enemies before thee; therefore shall thy camp be holy: that he see no unclean thing in thee, and turn away from thee.

Διότι Κύριος ο Θεός σου περιπατεί εν μέσω του στρατοπέδου σου, διά να σε ελευθερώση και διά να παραδώση τους εχθρούς σου έμπροσθέν σου· διά τούτο θέλει είσθαι άγιον το στρατόπεδόν σου· διά να μη βλέπη ακαθαρσίαν τινά εν σοι, και αποστρέψη από σου.

15 Thou shalt not deliver unto his master the servant which is escaped from his master unto thee:

Δεν θέλεις παραδώσει δούλον εις τον κύριον αυτού, όστις κατέφυγεν από του κυρίου αυτού προς σέ·

16 He shall dwell with thee, [even] among you, in that place which he shall choose in one of thy gates, where it liketh him best: thou shalt not oppress him.

μετά σου θέλει κατοικεί, εν μέσω σου, εις όντινα τόπον εκλέξη, εν μιά των πυλών σου όπου αρέσκη εις αυτόν· δεν θέλεις καταδυναστεύσει αυτόν.

17 There shall be no whore of the daughters of Israel, nor a sodomite of the sons of Israel.

Πόρνη δεν θέλει υπάρχει εκ των θυγατέρων Ισραήλ, ουδέ θέλει είσθαι κίναιδος εκ των υιών Ισραήλ.

18 Thou shalt not bring the hire of a whore, or the price of a dog, into the house of the LORD thy God for any vow: for even both these [are] abomination unto the LORD thy God.

Δεν θέλεις φέρει πληρωμήν πόρνης ουδέ μίσθωμα κυνός, εις τον οίκον Κυρίου του Θεού σου, δι' ουδεμίαν ευχήν· διότι αμφότερα ταύτα είναι βδέλυγμα εις Κύριον τον Θεόν σου.

19 Thou shalt not lend upon usury to thy brother; usury of money, usury of victuals, usury of any thing that is lent upon usury:

Δεν θέλεις δανείζει εις τον αδελφόν σου χρήματα επί τόκω, τροφάς επί τόκω, ουδέν πράγμα δανειζόμενον επί τόκω.

20 Unto a stranger thou mayest lend upon usury; but unto thy brother thou shalt not lend upon usury: that the LORD thy God may bless thee in all that thou settest thine hand to in the land whither thou goest to possess it.

Εις τον ξένον δύνασαι να τοκίζης· εις τον αδελφόν σου όμως δεν θέλεις τοκίσει διά να σε ευλογή Κύριος ο Θεός σου εις πάσας τας επιχειρήσεις σου, επί της γης, εις την οποίαν υπάγεις διά να κληρονομήσης αυτήν.

21 When thou shalt vow a vow unto the LORD thy God, thou shalt not slack to pay it: for the LORD thy God will surely require it of thee; and it would be sin in thee.

Όταν ευχηθής ευχήν προς Κύριον τον Θεόν σου, δεν θέλεις βραδύνει να αποδώσης αυτήν· διότι Κύριος ο Θεός σου θέλει εξάπαντος εκζητήσει αυτήν παρά σου, και θέλει είσθαι αμαρτία εις σε.

22 But if thou shalt forbear to vow, it shall be no sin in thee.

Εάν όμως δεν θέλης να ευχηθής, δεν θέλει είσθαι αμαρτία εις σε.

23 That which is gone out of thy lips thou shalt keep and perform; [even] a freewill offering, according as thou hast vowed unto the LORD thy God, which thou hast promised with thy mouth.

ό, τι εξέλθη εκ των χειλέων σου θέλεις φυλάξει, και θέλεις εκτελέσει καθ' ον τρόπον ευχήθης εις Κύριον τον Θεόν σου την αυτοπροαίρετον προσφοράν, την οποίαν υπεσχέθης διά στόματός σου.

24 When thou comest into thy neighbour’s vineyard, then thou mayest eat grapes thy fill at thine own pleasure; but thou shalt not put [any] in thy vessel.

Όταν εισέρχησαι εις τον αμπελώνα του πλησίον σου, δύνασαι να τρώγης σταφύλια κατά την όρεξίν σου, εωσού χορτασθής· εις το αγγείόν σου όμως δεν θέλεις βάλει.

25 When thou comest into the standing corn of thy neighbour, then thou mayest pluck the ears with thine hand; but thou shalt not move a sickle unto thy neighbour’s standing corn.

Όταν εισέρχησαι εις τα σπαρτά του πλησίον σου, δύνασαι να αποσπάς διά της χειρός σου αστάχυα· δρέπανον όμως δεν δύνασαι να βάλης εις τα σπαρτά του πλησίον σου.
