1 Thessalonians 2
1 For yourselves, brethren, know our entrance in unto you, that it was not in vain:
| زیرا‌ای برادران، خود می‌دانید که ورود مادر میان شما باطل نبود. | ۱ |
2 But even after that we had suffered before, and were shamefully entreated, as ye know, at Philippi, we were bold in our God to speak unto you the gospel of God with much contention.
| بلکه هرچند قبل از آن در فیلپی زحمت کشیده و بی‌احترامی دیده بودیم، چنانکه اطلاع دارید، لیکن در خدای خوددلیری کردیم تا انجیل خدا را با جد و جهد شدیدبه شما اعلام نماییم. | ۲ |
3 For our exhortation [was] not of deceit, nor of uncleanness, nor in guile:
| زیرا که نصیحت ما ازگمراهی و خباثت و ریا نیست، | ۳ |
4 But as we were allowed of God to be put in trust with the gospel, even so we speak; not as pleasing men, but God, which trieth our hearts.
| بلکه چنانکه مقبول خدا گشتیم که وکلای انجیل بشویم، همچنین سخن می‌گوییم و طالب رضامندی مردم نیستیم، بلکه رضامندی خدایی که دلهای ما رامی آزماید. | ۴ |
5 For neither at any time used we flattering words, as ye know, nor a cloke of covetousness; God [is] witness:
| زیرا هرگز سخن تملق‌آمیز نگفتیم، چنانکه می‌دانید، و نه بهانه طمع کردیم، خداشاهد است؛ | ۵ |
6 Nor of men sought we glory, neither of you, nor [yet] of others, when we might have been burdensome, as the apostles of Christ.
| و نه بزرگی از خلق جستیم، نه ازشما و نه از دیگران، هرچند چون رسولان مسیح بودیم، می‌توانستیم سنگین باشیم. | ۶ |
7 But we were gentle among you, even as a nurse cherisheth her children:
| بلکه در میان شما به ملایمت بسر می‌بردیم، مثل دایه‌ای که اطفال خود را می‌پرورد. | ۷ |
8 So being affectionately desirous of you, we were willing to have imparted unto you, not the gospel of God only, but also our own souls, because ye were dear unto us.
| بدین طرز شایق شماشده، راضی می‌بودیم که نه همان انجیل خدا را به شما دهیم، بلکه جانهای خود را نیز از بس که عزیز ما بودید. | ۸ |
9 For ye remember, brethren, our labour and travail: for labouring night and day, because we would not be chargeable unto any of you, we preached unto you the gospel of God.
| زانرو که‌ای برادران محنت ومشقت ما را یاد می‌دارید زیرا که شبانه‌روز درکار مشغول شده، به انجیل خدا شما راموعظه می‌کردیم که مبادا بر کسی از شما بارنهیم. | ۹ |
10 Ye [are] witnesses, and God [also], how holily and justly and unblameably we behaved ourselves among you that believe:
| شما شاهد هستید و خدا نیز که به چه نوع باقدوسیت و عدالت و بی‌عیبی نزد شما که ایماندارهستید رفتار نمودیم. | ۱۰ |
11 As ye know how we exhorted and comforted and charged every one of you, as a father [doth] his children,
| چنانکه می‌دانید که هریکی از شما را چون پدر، فرزندان خود رانصیحت و دلداری می‌نمودیم، | ۱۱ |
12 That ye would walk worthy of God, who hath called you unto his kingdom and glory.
| و وصیت می‌کردیم که رفتار بکنید بطور شایسته خدایی که شما را به ملکوت و جلال خود می‌خواند. | ۱۲ |
13 For this cause also thank we God without ceasing, because, when ye received the word of God which ye heard of us, ye received [it] not [as] the word of men, but as it is in truth, the word of God, which effectually worketh also in you that believe.
| و ازاینجهت ما نیز دائم خدا را شکر می‌کنیم که چون کلام خدا را که از ما شنیده بودید یافتید، آن راکلام انسانی نپذیرفتید، بلکه چنانکه فی الحقیقه است، کلام خدا که در شما که ایماندار هستیدعمل می‌کند. | ۱۳ |
14 For ye, brethren, became followers of the churches of God which in Judaea are in Christ Jesus: for ye also have suffered like things of your own countrymen, even as they [have] of the Jews:
| زیرا که‌ای برادران، شما اقتدانمودید به کلیساهای خدا که در یهودیه در مسیح عیسی می‌باشند، زیرا که شما از قوم خود همان زحمات را کشیدید که ایشان نیز از یهود دیدند، | ۱۴ |
15 Who both killed the Lord Jesus, and their own prophets, and have persecuted us; and they please not God, and are contrary to all men:
| که عیسی خداوند و انبیای خود را کشتند و برما جفا کردند؛ و ایشان ناپسند خدا هستند ومخالف جمیع مردم، | ۱۵ |
16 Forbidding us to speak to the Gentiles that they might be saved, to fill up their sins alway: for the wrath is come upon them to the uttermost.
| و ما را منع می‌کنند که به امت‌ها سخن بگوییم تا نجات یابند و همیشه گناهان خود را لبریز می‌کنند، اما منتهای غضب ایشان را فروگرفته است. | ۱۶ |
17 But we, brethren, being taken from you for a short time in presence, not in heart, endeavoured the more abundantly to see your face with great desire.
| لیکن ما‌ای برادران، چون بقدر ساعتی درظاهر نه در دل از شما مهجور شدیم، به اشتیاق بسیار زیادتر کوشیدیم تا روی شما را ببینیم. | ۱۷ |
18 Wherefore we would have come unto you, even I Paul, once and again; but Satan hindered us.
| وبدین جهت یک دو دفعه خواستیم نزد شما بیاییم یعنی من، پولس، لیکن شیطان ما را نگذاشت. | ۱۸ |
19 For what [is] our hope, or joy, or crown of rejoicing? [Are] not even ye in the presence of our Lord Jesus Christ at his coming?
| زیرا که چیست امید و سرور و تاج فخر ما؟ مگر شما نیستید در حضور خداوند ما عیسی درهنگام ظهور او؟ | ۱۹ |
20 For ye are our glory and joy.
| زیرا که شما جلال و خوشی ما هستید. | ۲۰ |
