1 Kings 6
1 And it came to pass in the four hundred and eightieth year after the children of Israel were come out of the land of Egypt, in the fourth year of Solomon’s reign over Israel, in the month Zif, which [is] the second month, that he began to build the house of the LORD.
ইস্রায়েলীরা মিশর থেকে বের হয়ে আসার পর 480 তম বছরে, ইস্রায়েলের উপর শলোমনের রাজত্বের চতুর্থ বছরে, বছরের দ্বিতীয় মাসে, অর্থাৎ সিব মাসে তিনি সদাপ্রভুর মন্দির নির্মাণ করতে শুরু করলেন।
2 And the house which king Solomon built for the LORD, the length thereof [was] threescore cubits, and the breadth thereof twenty [cubits], and the height thereof thirty cubits.
যে মন্দিরটি রাজা শলোমন নির্মাণ করলেন, সেটি প্রায় সাতাশ মিটার লম্বা, নয় মিটার চওড়া ও চোদ্দো মিটার উচ্চতাবিশিষ্ট হল।
3 And the porch before the temple of the house, twenty cubits [was] the length thereof, according to the breadth of the house; [and] ten cubits [was] the breadth thereof before the house.
সেই মন্দিরের মূল ঘরের সামনের দিকের দ্বারমণ্ডপটি মন্দিরের প্রস্থের মাপ নয় মিটার বাড়িয়ে দিয়েছিল, এবং মন্দিরের সামনের দিকের মাপ প্রায় সাড়ে-চার মিটার বাড়িয়ে দিয়েছিল।
4 And for the house he made windows of narrow lights.
মন্দিরের দেয়ালের উপরদিকে তিনি কয়েকটি জানালা তৈরি করলেন।
5 And against the wall of the house he built chambers round about, [against] the walls of the house round about, [both] of the temple and of the oracle: and he made chambers round about:
মূল ঘরের দেয়ালগুলির ও ভিতরদিকের পবিত্রস্থানের গা ঘেঁসে তিনি ভবনটির চারপাশে এমন একটি কাঠামো গড়েছিলেন, যেটিতে কয়েকটি পার্শ্ব-ঘর ছিল।
6 The nethermost chamber [was] five cubits broad, and the middle [was] six cubits broad, and the third [was] seven cubits broad: for without [in the wall] of the house he made narrowed rests round about, that [the beams] should not be fastened in the walls of the house.
সবচেয়ে নিচের তলাটি ছিল প্রায় 2.3 মিটার চওড়া, মাঝের তলাটি প্রায় 2.7 মিটার ও তৃতীয় তলাটি প্রায় 3.2 মিটার চওড়া ছিল। তিনি মন্দিরের বাইরে চারপাশে ভারসাম্য বজায়কারী সরু তাক তৈরি করলেন, যেন আর অন্য কোনো কিছু মন্দিরের দেয়ালে গাঁথা না যায়।
7 And the house, when it was in building, was built of stone made ready before it was brought thither: so that there was neither hammer nor axe [nor] any tool of iron heard in the house, while it was in building.
মন্দির নির্মাণের সময় শুধুমাত্র পাথর খাদানে কেটেকুটে প্রস্তুত করা পাথরের চাঙড়ই ব্যবহার করা হল, এবং মন্দির নির্মাণস্থলে সেটি গড়ে ওঠার সময় কোনও হাতুড়ি, ছেনি বা লোহার অন্য কোনও যন্ত্রপাতির শব্দ শোনা যায়নি।
8 The door for the middle chamber [was] in the right side of the house: and they went up with winding stairs into the middle [chamber], and out of the middle into the third.
সবচেয়ে নিচের তলার প্রবেশদ্বারটি ছিল মন্দিরের দক্ষিণ দিকে; সেখান থেকে একটি সিঁড়ি মাঝের তলা হয়ে তৃতীয় তলায় উঠে গেল।
9 So he built the house, and finished it; and covered the house with beams and boards of cedar.
এইভাবে তিনি কড়িকাঠ ও দেবদারু কাঠের তক্তা দিয়ে মন্দিরের ছাদ বানিয়ে সেটির নির্মাণকাজ সমাপ্ত করলেন।
10 And [then] he built chambers against all the house, five cubits high: and they rested on the house [with] timber of cedar.
তিনি মন্দিরের দৈর্ঘ্য বরাবর কয়েকটি পার্শ্ব-ঘর তৈরি করলেন। প্রত্যেকটির উচ্চতা ছিল পাঁচ হাত, এবং সেগুলি দেবদারু কাঠের কড়িকাঠ দিয়ে মন্দিরের সাথে জুড়ে দেওয়া হল।
11 And the word of the LORD came to Solomon, saying,
সদাপ্রভুর এই বাক্য শলোমনের কাছে এসেছিল:
12 [Concerning] this house which thou art in building, if thou wilt walk in my statutes, and execute my judgments, and keep all my commandments to walk in them; then will I perform my word with thee, which I spake unto David thy father:
“তুমি যদি আমার বিধিবিধান অনুসরণ করো, আমার নিয়মকানুন পালন করো ও আমার আদেশগুলি মেনে সেগুলির বাধ্য হও, তবে তোমার তৈরি করা এই মন্দিরের বিষয়ে আমি তোমার বাবা দাউদের কাছে যে প্রতিজ্ঞাটি করলাম, তা তোমার মাধ্যমেই আমি পূরণ করব।
13 And I will dwell among the children of Israel, and will not forsake my people Israel.
আর আমি ইস্রায়েলীদের মাঝখানে বসবাস করব ও আমার প্রজা ইস্রায়েলকে ত্যাগ করব না।”
14 So Solomon built the house, and finished it.
অতএব শলোমন মন্দির নির্মাণ করে সেটি সম্পূর্ণ করলেন।
15 And he built the walls of the house within with boards of cedar, both the floor of the house, and the walls of the cieling: [and] he covered [them] on the inside with wood, and covered the floor of the house with planks of fir.
তিনি মন্দিরের ভিতরদিকের দেয়ালগুলি দেবদারু কাঠের তক্তা দিয়ে মুড়ে দিলেন, মন্দিরের মেঝে থেকে ছাদের ভিতরের দিক পর্যন্ত দেয়ালে খুপি তৈরি করে দিলেন, এবং মন্দিরের মেঝেটি চিরহরিৎ কাঠের তক্তা দিয়ে ঢেকে দিলেন।
16 And he built twenty cubits on the sides of the house, both the floor and the walls with boards of cedar: he even built [them] for it within, [even] for the oracle, [even] for the most holy [place].
মন্দিরের ভিতরে এক অভ্যন্তরীণ পবিত্রস্থান অর্থাৎ মহাপবিত্র স্থান গড়ার জন্য তিনি মন্দিরের মধ্যেই পিছন দিকে দেবদারু তক্তা দিয়ে কুড়ি হাত এলাকা আলাদা করে দিলেন।
17 And the house, that [is], the temple before it, was forty cubits [long].
এই ঘরটির সামনের দিকের মূল ঘরটি ছিল দৈর্ঘ্যে প্রায় 18 মিটার।
18 And the cedar of the house within [was] carved with knops and open flowers: all [was] cedar; there was no stone seen.
মন্দিরের ভিতরদিকে দেবদারু কাঠ খোদাই করে লাউ-এর মতো ফলের ও প্রস্ফুটিত ফুলের আকার গড়ে দেওয়া হল। সেখানে সবকিছুই ছিল দেবদারু কাঠের; কোনো পাথর দেখা যাচ্ছিল না।
19 And the oracle he prepared in the house within, to set there the ark of the covenant of the LORD.
সদাপ্রভুর নিয়ম-সিন্দুকটি রাখার জন্যই তিনি মন্দিরের মধ্যে অভ্যন্তরীণ পবিত্র স্থানটি প্রস্তুত করলেন।
20 And the oracle in the forepart [was] twenty cubits in length, and twenty cubits in breadth, and twenty cubits in the height thereof: and he overlaid it with pure gold; and [so] covered the altar [which was of] cedar.
অভ্যন্তরীণ পবিত্র স্থানটি ছিল প্রায় 9.2 মিটার করে লম্বা, চওড়া ও উঁচু। ভিতরদিকটি তিনি পাকা সোনা দিয়ে মুড়ে দিলেন, এবং দেবদারু কাঠের যজ্ঞবেদিটিও তিনি পাকা সোনা দিয়ে মুড়ে দিলেন।
21 So Solomon overlaid the house within with pure gold: and he made a partition by the chains of gold before the oracle; and he overlaid it with gold.
শলোমন মন্দিরের ভিতরদিকটিও পাকা সোনা দিয়ে মুড়ে দিলেন, এবং তিনি সেই অভ্যন্তরীণ পবিত্রস্থানের সামনের দিক পর্যন্ত সোনার শিকল টেনে নিয়ে গেলেন, যেটি সোনা দিয়ে মুড়ে দেওয়া হল।
22 And the whole house he overlaid with gold, until he had finished all the house: also the whole altar that [was] by the oracle he overlaid with gold.
অতএব তিনি সেই ভবনের ভিতরদিকটি পুরোপুরি সোনা দিয়ে মুড়ে দিলেন। এছাড়াও সেই যজ্ঞবেদিটিও তিনি সোনা দিয়ে মুড়ে দিলেন, যেটি অভ্যন্তরীণ পবিত্রস্থানের অন্তর্গত ছিল।
23 And within the oracle he made two cherubims [of] olive tree, [each] ten cubits high.
অভ্যন্তরীণ পবিত্রস্থানের জন্য তিনি জলপাই কাঠের এক জোড়া করূব তৈরি করলেন, যেগুলির এক একটির উচ্চতা ছিল প্রায় 4.6 মিটার।
24 And five cubits [was] the one wing of the cherub, and five cubits the other wing of the cherub: from the uttermost part of the one wing unto the uttermost part of the other [were] ten cubits.
প্রথম করূবটির একটি ডানার উচ্চতা ছিল প্রায় 2.3 মিটার, ও অন্য ডানাটিরও উচ্চতা ছিল প্রায় 2.3 মিটার—এক ডানার ডগা থেকে অন্য ডানার ডগার দূরত্ব প্রায় 4.6 মিটার।
25 And the other cherub [was] ten cubits: both the cherubims [were] of one measure and one size.
দ্বিতীয় করূবটির মাপ ছিল প্রায় 4.6 মিটার, কারণ দুটি করূবই মাপে ও আকারে সমান ছিল।
26 The height of the one cherub [was] ten cubits, and so [was it] of the other cherub.
প্রত্যেকটি করূবের উচ্চতা ছিল প্রায় 4.6 মিটার করে।
27 And he set the cherubims within the inner house: and they stretched forth the wings of the cherubims, so that the wing of the one touched the [one] wall, and the wing of the other cherub touched the other wall; and their wings touched one another in the midst of the house.
তিনি করূব দুটি মন্দিরের একদম ভিতরের ঘরে রেখেছিলেন, এবং সে দুটির ডানাগুলি ছড়ানো ছিল। একটি করূবের ডানা একটি দেয়াল ছুঁয়েছিল, আবার অন্য করূবটির ডানা অন্য একটি দেয়াল ছুঁয়েছিল, এবং তাদের ডানাগুলি ঘরের মাঝখানে পরস্পরকে ছুঁয়েছিল।
28 And he overlaid the cherubims with gold.
তিনি করূব দুটি সোনা দিয়ে মুড়ে দিলেন।
29 And he carved all the walls of the house round about with carved figures of cherubims and palm trees and open flowers, within and without.
ভিতরের ও বাইরের ঘরগুলিতে, মন্দিরের এক প্রান্ত থেকে অন্য প্রান্তের দেয়াল জুড়ে তিনি করূবের, খেজুর গাছের ও প্রস্ফুটিত ফুলের ছবি খোদাই করে ফুটিয়ে তুলেছিলেন।
30 And the floor of the house he overlaid with gold, within and without.
এছাড়াও তিনি মন্দিরের ভিতরের ও বাইরের ঘরগুলির মেঝে সোনা দিয়ে ঢেকে দিলেন।
31 And for the entering of the oracle he made doors [of] olive tree: the lintel [and] side posts [were] a fifth part [of the wall].
অভ্যন্তরীণ পবিত্রস্থানে প্রবেশ করার জন্য তিনি জলপাই কাঠের এমন এক জোড়া দরজা তৈরি করলেন যার মাপ পবিত্রস্থানের প্রস্থের এক-পঞ্চমাংশ।
32 The two doors also [were of] olive tree; and he carved upon them carvings of cherubims and palm trees and open flowers, and overlaid [them] with gold, and spread gold upon the cherubims, and upon the palm trees.
আবার জলপাই কাঠের তৈরি দরজার দুটি পাল্লায় তিনি করূবের, খেজুর গাছের ও প্রস্ফুটিত ফুলের ছবি খোদাই করে ফুটিয়ে তুলেছিলেন, এবং করূব ও খেজুর গাছগুলি তিনি সোনার পাত দিয়ে মুড়ে দিলেন।
33 So also made he for the door of the temple posts [of] olive tree, a fourth part [of the wall].
একইরকম ভাবে, মূল ঘরে প্রবেশ করার জন্য তিনি জলপাই কাঠ দিয়ে দরজার এমন চৌকাঠ তৈরি করলেন, যার মাপ ছিল মূল ঘরের প্রস্থের এক-চতুর্থাংশ।
34 And the two doors [were of] fir tree: the two leaves of the one door [were] folding, and the two leaves of the other door [were] folding.
এছাড়াও তিনি চিরহরিৎ গাছের কাঠ দিয়ে দরজার এমন দুটি পাল্লা তৈরি করলেন, যেগুলি কব্জা দিয়ে পাক খাওয়ানো যেত।
35 And he carved [thereon] cherubims and palm trees and open flowers: and covered [them] with gold fitted upon the carved work.
সেগুলির উপর তিনি করূবের, খেজুর গাছের ও প্রস্ফুটিত ফুলের ছবি খোদাই করে ফুটিয়ে তুলেছিলেন এবং খোদাইয়ের কাজের উপর সোনার পাত দিয়ে সমানভাবে সেগুলি মুড়ে দিলেন।
36 And he built the inner court with three rows of hewed stone, and a row of cedar beams.
আবার কেটেকুটে প্রস্তুত করা পাথরের তিন পর্বে ও দেবদারু কাঠের পরিচ্ছন্ন কড়িকাঠের এক পর্বে তিনি ভিতরদিকের উঠোন তৈরি করলেন।
37 In the fourth year was the foundation of the house of the LORD laid, in the month Zif:
চতুর্থ বছরের সিব মাসে সদাপ্রভুর মন্দিরের ভিত্তিমূল গাঁথা হল।
38 And in the eleventh year, in the month Bul, which [is] the eighth month, was the house finished throughout all the parts thereof, and according to all the fashion of it. So was he seven years in building it.
একাদশ বছরের অষ্টম মাসে, অর্থাৎ বূল মাসে মন্দিরের নকশা অনুসারে অনুপুঙ্খভাবে সেটি সম্পূর্ণ হল। সেটি নির্মাণ করার জন্য তিনি সাত সাতটি বছর কাটিয়ে দিলেন।
