Psalms 97

1 The LORD reigns; let the earth rejoice; let the multitude of isles be glad thereof.

主は王となられた。地は楽しみ、海に沿った多くの国々は喜べ。

2 Clouds and darkness are round about him: righteousness and judgment are the habitation of his throne.

雲と暗やみとはそのまわりにあり、義と正とはそのみくらの基である。

3 A fire goes before him, and burns up his enemies round about.

火はそのみ前に行き、そのまわりのあだを焼きつくす。

4 His lightnings enlightened the world: the earth saw, and trembled.

主のいなずまは世界を照し、地は見ておののく。

5 The hills melted like wax at the presence of the LORD, at the presence of the Lord of the whole earth.

もろもろの山は主のみ前に、全地の主のみ前に、ろうのように溶けた。

6 The heavens declare his righteousness, and all the people see his glory.

もろもろの天はその義をあらわし、よろずの民はその栄光を見た。

7 Confounded be all they that serve graven images, that boast themselves of idols: worship him, all you gods.

すべて刻んだ像を拝む者、むなしい偶像をもってみずから誇る者ははずかしめをうける。もろもろの神は主のみ前にひれ伏す。

8 Zion heard, and was glad; and the daughters of Judah rejoiced because of your judgments, O LORD.

主よ、あなたのさばきのゆえに、シオンは聞いて喜び、ユダの娘たちは楽しむ。

9 For you, LORD, are high above all the earth: you are exalted far above all gods.

主よ、あなたは全地の上にいまして、いと高く、もろもろの神にまさって大いにあがめられます。

10 All of you that love the LORD, hate evil: he perserves the souls of his saints; he delivers them out of the hand of the wicked.

主は悪を憎む者を愛し、その聖徒のいのちを守り、これを悪しき者の手から助け出される。

11 Light is sown for the righteous, and gladness for the upright in heart.

光は正しい人のために現れ、喜びは心の正しい者のためにあらわれる。

12 Rejoice in the LORD, all of you righteous; and give thanks at the remembrance of his holiness.

正しき人よ、主によって喜べ、その聖なるみ名に感謝せよ。
