Matthew 14
1 At that time Herod the tetrarch heard of the fame of Jesus,
၁ထိုအခါ စော်ဘွားဟေရုဒ်သည် ယေရှု၏သိတင်းတော်ကိုကြားလျှင်၊
2 And said unto his servants, This is John the Baptist; he has risen from the dead; and therefore mighty works do show forth themselves in him.
၂ဤသူကား ဗတ္တိဇံဆရာယောဟန်ဖြစ်သည်။ သေခြင်းမှထမြောက်လေပြီ။ ထို့ကြောင့် တန်ခိုးများကို ပြ နိုင်သည်ဟု မိမိငယ်သားတို့အားဆို၏။
3 For Herod had laid hold on John, and bound him, and put him in prison for Herodias' sake, his brother Philip's wife.
၃အထက်က ဟေရုဒ်သည်မိမိညီဖိလိပ္ပု၏ခင်ပွန်း ဟေရောဒိအကြောင်းကြောင့်၊ ယောဟန်ကိုဘမ်းဆီး ချည်နှောင်၍ ထောင်ထဲမှာလှောင်ထား၏။
4 For John said unto him, It is not lawful for you to have her.
၄အကြောင်းမူကား၊ ယောဟန်က၊ အရှင်မင်းကြီးသည် ထိုမိန်းမကိုမသိမ်းအပ်ဟု ဟေရုဒ်အားဆိုလေပြီ။
5 And when he would have put him to death, he feared the multitude, because they counted him as a prophet.
၅ယောဟန်ကိုသတ်ခြင်းငှာ အလိုရှိသော်လည်း၊ လူအပေါင်းတို့၏မျက်နှာကိုထောက်၍ မသတ်ဝံ့ဘဲနေ ၏။ အကြောင်းမူကား၊ ထိုသူတို့သည် ယောဟန်ကို ပရောဖတ်ကဲ့သို့ထင်မှတ်ကြသတည်း။
6 But when Herod's birthday was kept, the daughter of Herodias danced before them, and pleased Herod.
၆ထိုနောက်မှ ဟေရုဒ်ကိုဘွားသောနေ့ရက်၌ နှစ်စဉ်ပွဲခံစဉ်တွင်၊ ဟေရောဒိ၏သမီးသည် ပွဲသဘင်၌ က သဖြင့် ဟေရုဒ်သည် နူးညွတ်သောစိတ်ရှိလျှင်၊
7 Whereupon he promised with an oath to give her whatsoever she would ask.
၇ငါသည် သင်တောင်းသမျှကို ပေးမည်ဟု ကျိန်ဆိုလေ၏။
8 And she, being before instructed of her mother, said, Give me here John Baptist's head in a charger.
၈ထိုမိန်းမငယ်သည် သူ၏အမိတိုက်တွန်းသည်အတိုင်း၊ ဗတ္တိဇံဆရာယောဟန်၏ ဦးခေါင်းကို ဤ လင်ပန်း၌ ပေးတော်မူပါဟု တောင်းလျှောက်၏။
9 And the king was sorry: nevertheless for the oath's sake, and them which sat with him at food, he commanded it to be given her.
၉မင်းကြီးသည် ဝမ်းနည်းသော်လည်းကျိန်ဆိုခြင်းကို၎င်း၊ အပေါင်းအဘော်တို့၏မျက်နှာကို၎င်း ထောက် သောကြောင့် ပေးစေဟုအမိန့်တော်ရှိလျက်၊
10 And he sent, and beheaded John in the prison.
၁၀လူကို စေလွှတ်၍ ယောဟန်၏လည်ပင်းကို ထောင်ထဲမှာဖြတ်စေ၏။
11 And his head was brought in a charger, and given to the damsel: and she brought it to her mother.
၁၁ဦးခေါင်းကို လင်ပန်း၌ဆောင်ခဲ့၍ ထိုမိန်းမငယ်အားပေးပြီးမှ၊ သူသည်လည်း မိမိအမိထံသို့ယူသွား၏။
12 And his disciples came, and took up the body, and buried it, and went and told Jesus.
၁၂ယောဟန်၏တပည့်တို့သည်လည်းလာ၍ အလောင်းကိုဆောင်သွားသဖြင့် သင်္ဂြိုဟ်ပြီးမှ၊ ယေရှုထံတော် သို့သွား၍ ကြားလျှောက်ကြ၏။
13 When Jesus heard of it, he departed thence by ship into a desert place apart: and when the people had heard thereof, they followed him on foot out of the cities.
၁၃ယေရှုသည် ကြားတော်မူလျှင်၊ ထိုအရပ်မှထွက်၍လှေကိုစီးလျက် တော၌ဆိတ်ကွယ်ရာအရပ်သို့ ကြွ တော်မူ၏။ လူအစုအဝေးတို့သည် ကြားသိရလျှင်၊ မြို့ရွာမှထွက်၍ ကုန်းကြောင်းလိုက်ကြ၏။
14 And Jesus went forth, and saw a great multitude, and was moved with compassion toward them, and he healed their sick.
၁၄ယေရှုသည် ထွက်ကြွ၍ လူများအပေါင်းတို့ကို တွေ့မြင်တော်မူလျှင်၊ သနားခြင်းစိတ်တော်ရှိ၍ လူနာရှိ သမျှတို့ကို ချမ်းသာပေးတော်မူ၏။
15 And when it was evening, his disciples came to him, saying, This is a desert place, and the time is now past; send the multitude away, that they may go into the villages, and buy themselves victuals.
၁၅ညဦးယံ၌ တပည့်တော်တို့သည်ချဉ်းကပ်၍၊ ဤအရပ်သည် တောအရပ်ဖြစ်ပါ၏။ မိုးလည်းချုပ်ပါပြီ။ လူအစုအဝေးတို့သည် မြို့ရွာသို့သွား၍ စားစရာကိုဝယ်စေခြင်းငှာ အခွင့်ပေးတော်မူပါဟု လျှောက်ကြလျှင်၊
16 But Jesus said unto them, They need not depart; give all of you them to eat.
၁၆ယေရှုက၊ သွားရသောအကြောင်းမရှိ။ သူတို့စားစရာဘို့ သင်တို့ပေးကြလော့ဟု မိန့်တော်မူ၏။
17 And they say unto him, We have here but five loaves, and two fishes.
၁၇တပည့်တော်တို့ကလည်း၊ မုန့်ငါးလုံးနှင့် ငါးနှစ်ကောင်မှတပါး အဘယ်စားစရာမျှ အကျွန်ုပ်တို့၌မရှိပါ ဟု လျှောက်ပြန်လျှင်၊ ထိုမုန့်နှင့်ငါးကို ယူခဲ့ကြဟုမိန့်တော်မူ၏။
18 He said, Bring them here to me.
၁၈ထိုအခါ လူအစုအဝေးတို့ကို မြက်ပင်ပေါ်မှာ လျောင်းကြစေဟုအမိန့်တော်ရှိ၏။
19 And he commanded the multitude to sit down on the grass, and took the five loaves, and the two fishes, and looking up to heaven, he blessed, and brake, and gave the loaves to his disciples, and the disciples to the multitude.
၁၉မုန့်ငါးလုံးနှင့် ငါးနှစ်ကောင်ကိုလည်းယူ၍ ကောင်းကင်သို့ကြည့်မြော်လျက်၊ ကျေးဇူးတော်ကို ချီးမွမ်းပြီး မှ မုန့်နှင့်ငါးကိုဖဲ့၍ တပည့်တော်တို့အား ပေးတော်မူ၏။
20 And they did all eat, and were filled: and they took up of the fragments that remained twelve baskets full.
၂၀တပည့်တော်တို့သည်လည်းလူအပေါင်းတို့အား ပေးကြ၏။ လူအပေါင်းတို့သည်စား၍ ဝကြပြီးမှ ကြွင်း ရစ်သောအကျိုးအပဲ့ကို ကောက်သိမ်း၍ တင်းနှစ်တောင်းအပြည့်ရကြ၏။
21 And they that had eaten were about five thousand men, beside women and children.
၂၁စားသောသူအရေအတွက်ကား၊ မိန်းမနှင့်သူငယ်တို့ကိုမဆိုဘဲ၊ ယောက်ျားငါးထောင်မျှလောက် ရှိ သတည်း။
22 And immediately Jesus constrained his disciples to get into a ship, and to go before him unto the other side, while he sent the multitudes away.
၂၂ယေရှုသည် စည်းဝေးသောသူတို့ကိုလွှတ်တော်မူစဉ်တွင်၊ တပည့်တော်တို့ကိုလှေစီးစေ၍ ကမ်းတဘက် သို့ အရင်ကူးစေတော်မူ၏။
23 And when he had sent the multitudes away, he went up into a mountain apart to pray: and when the evening was come, he was there alone.
၂၃စည်းဝေးသောသူတို့ကိုလွှတ်ပြီးမှ ဆုတောင်းပဌာနပြုအံ့သောငှာ တောင်ပေါ်၌ ဆိတ်ကွယ်ရာအရပ်သို့ တက်ကြွသဖြင့်၊ ညအချိန်ရောက်သောအခါ၊ တယောက်တည်းရှိနေတော်မူ၏။
24 But the ship was now in the midst of the sea, tossed with waves: for the wind was contrary.
၂၄လှေမူကား အိုင်အလယ်၌ရှိ၍ လေမသင့်သောကြောင့် လှိုင်းတံပိုးလှုပ်ရှားခြင်းကို ပြင်းစွာရ၏။
25 And in the fourth watch of the night Jesus went unto them, walking on the sea.
၂၅ညသုံးချက်တီးကျော်အချိန်၌ ယေရှုသည် အိုင်ပေါ်မှာ စက်တော်ဖြန့်လျက်တပည့်တော်တို့ရှိရာသို့ ကြွ တော်မူ၏။
26 And when the disciples saw him walking on the sea, they were troubled, saying, It is a spirit; and they cried out for fear.
၂၆ထိုသို့အိုင်ပေါ်မှာစက်တော်ဖြန့်၍ ကြွတော်မူသည်ကို သူတို့သည်မြင်လျှင်ထိတ်လန့်၍၊ ဖုတ်တစ္ဆေဖြစ် သည်ဟု ကြောက်သောစိတ်နှင့် အော်ဟစ်ကြ၏။
27 But immediately Jesus spoke unto them, saying, Be of good cheer; it is I; be not afraid.
၂၇ယေရှုသည် ချက်ခြင်းနှုတ်ဆက်၍ တည်ကြည်သောစိတ်ရှိကြလော့။ ငါပင်ဖြစ်သည်။ မကြောက်လန့် ကြနှင့်ဟု မိန့်တော်မူ၏။
28 And Peter answered him and said, Lord, if it be you, bid me come unto you on the water.
၂၈ပေတရုကလည်း၊ သခင်ကိုယ်တော်မှန်လျှင် အကျွန်ုပ်သည်ကိုယ်တော်ထံသို့ ရေပေါ်မှာလာရမည်အ ကြောင်း မိန့်တော်မူပါဟုလျှောက်လျှင်၊
29 And he said, Come. And when Peter was come down out of the ship, he walked on the water, to go to Jesus.
၂၉လာခဲ့လော့ဟု မိန့်တော်မူ၏။ ပေတရုသည်လှေပေါ်ကဆင်း၍ ယေရှုထံသို့ရောက်အံ့သောငှာ ရေ ပေါ်မှာလှမ်းသွား၏။
30 But when he saw the wind boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink, he cried, saying, Lord, save me.
၃၀လေပြင်းသည်ကိုမြင်လျှင် ကြောက်လန့်၍ နစ်မွန်းလုသည်ရှိသော်၊ ကယ်မတော်မူပါသခင်ဟု ဟစ် ကြော်လေ၏။
31 And immediately Jesus stretched forth his hand, and caught him, and said unto him, O you of little faith, wherefore did you doubt?
၃၁ယေရှုသည် လက်တော်ကိုချက်ခြင်းဆန့်၍ ပေတရုကိုကိုင်တော်မူလျက်၊ ယုံကြည်အားနည်းသောသူ၊ အဘယ်ကြောင့် ယုံမှားသောစိတ်ဝင်သနည်းဟု မေးတော်မူ၏။
32 And when they were come into the ship, the wind ceased.
၃၂လှေပေါ်သို့ရောက်ကြလျှင် လေသည်ငြိမ်းလေ၏။
33 Then they that were in the ship came and worshipped him, saying, Truthfully you are the Son of God.
၃၃လှေသားတို့သည်ချဉ်းကပ်၍၊ စင်စစ်ကိုယ်တော်သည် ဘုရားသခင်၏သားတော်မှန်ပါသည်ဟု ညွတ် ပြပ်၍ လျှောက်ကြ၏။
34 And when they were gone over, they came into the land of Gennesaret.
၃၄ကမ်းတဘက်သို့ကူးလျှင် ဂင်္နေသရက်နယ်သို့ ရောက်ကြ၏။
35 And when the men of that place had knowledge of him, they sent out into all that country round about, and brought unto him all that were diseased;
၃၅ထိုအရပ်သားတို့သည် မျက်နှာတော်ကိုမှတ်မိလျှင်၊ ပတ်ဝန်းကျင်အရပ်ရှိသမျှသို့ စေလွှတ်သဖြင့် လူနာ ရှိသမျှတို့ကို ဆောင်ခဲ့၍၊
36 And besought him that they might only touch the hem of his garment: and as many as touched were made perfectly whole.
၃၆အဝတ်တော်၏ပန်းပွားကိုမျှသာတို့ရပါမည်အကြောင်း အခွင့်တောင်းကြ၏။ တို့သမျှသောသူတို့သည် လည်း ချမ်းသာရကြ၏။
